Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 26, 2026

Ricky Saints heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Saints says that he will always put his money behind Je'Von Evans even if Oba Femi proved why he is the NXT Champion. He also says he has been in NXT for six months and that while he has accomplished plenty, he wants the NXT Championship. He admits there are others worthy of facing Oba Femi, but he considers now the perfect time to call his shot and calls Oba out. Josh Briggs shows up instead, saying Saints walks around like he runs the place and that he is tired of outsiders like Saints getting shots they do not deserve. Saints gives Briggs credit for how tough he is, but he will not step aside for him and he will handle him right now. Suddenly, General Manager Ava shows up. She says that nobody has heard from Je'Von Evans since he lost at Heatwave, and now she has to find a new #1 contender for the NXT Championship, and both men will square off tonight to see who faces Oba Femi at No Mercy.

Oba Femi heads to the ring while Ricky Saints is still in the ring. Saints says that as long as Oba has been NXT Champion, it is now starting to wear down on him. He says that his reign cannot last forever and that he will be the one to end it. Oba says he did something in Saints, and that it is fear. He says that Saints' career will reach new heights, but he will show him that he is not special and that he will make "the absolute" look "absolutely mediocre." Suddenly, DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin) shows up in the crowd. Dion Lennox says they lead the way in NXT, and Osiris gives Oba and Saints the choice to either leave or be forced out of the ring. Saints picks the second option, which leads to a beatdown. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger rush to the ring to even the numbers game, and DarkState is soon cleared out.

The rules for the WWE Speed Championship and Women's Speed Championship are explained. We then hear from General Manager Ava, who says that on September 2nd, there will be a tournament for the women's title featuring Candice LeRae from SmackDown, Xia Brookside from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, Faby Apache from AAA and Lainey Reed from NXT. Candice vs. Xia will be the first match.

In memory of Sid Eudy "Sycho Sid", 1960 - 2024.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan) head to the ring to start tonight's show. After a replay of what they did to Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest last week, JD McDonagh says the beating they got was a long time coming, and Finn Balor says Rhea and Priest are the bad guys around here, not them, due to their betrayal. He says that they deserved that beating and that it is a preview of what will happen at Bash In Berlin. Liv thanks Rhea for putting herself in the position to lose The Judgment Day, and says she will find out that she and Dominik will always be on top. Dominik says that Liv does things for her that Rhea has never done, like help him beat "[his] deadbeat day" Rey Mysterio, and with her full support, he is entering the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contender's Tournament and winning the whole thing. The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Dragon Lee) suddenly shows up, and Rey tells Dominik that he is a lost soul and needs help, and that when he was with Rhea, "one of you had a set, and it sure wasn't [Dominik]." Rey says somebody needs to put Dominik in his place, but Dominik says he beat him and had him disappear for weeks. Rey says that Dominik was always a jackass, but now that he is with Liv, he is "an even bigger jackass." Liv takes offense to that statement, and Rey threatens to slap the moustache off Dominik's face. Dominik says he would like to see him try, and McDonagh goes for a cheap shot only for Rey to punch him back. The Latino World Order soon cleans house.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito) beats The Latino World Order (Rey Mysterio, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Dragon Lee) in an eight-man tag team match after Liv Morgan pulls Dominik out of the way of Rey's top rope splash, allowing Dominik to pin Rey with a La Magistral Cradle for the win. After the match, The Judgment Day continues to attack The Latino World Order. As Dominik is about to splash Rey through the announce table, Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest show up. Carlito gets South of Heaven, while JD McDonagh gets Riptide after receiving a strong clothesline from Rhea just seconds beforehand.

We see VHS cassette footage of Bo Dallas looking back on his accomplishments. He says that past mistakes will not be made again, as the false prophet continues to make himself known to the world as a loving shepherd leading his sheep into the mouths of wolves. He says that American Made (Chad Gable, Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile) is not a family, but blasphemy, and that The Wyatt Sicks (Bo Dallas, Joe Gacy, Erick Rowan, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross) have given Chad Gable chance and chance, yet Gable has refused to remove the scales from his eyes. He says that they must cut the head of the snake so that the blood can wash away the sins of the damned. Bo Dallas accepts Gable's challenge, and says that what is about to happen is more than a reckoning; it is a purge.

Drew McIntyre heads to the ring. McIntyre makes fun of CM Punk's promos, then says he is telling the truth and that the truth is that Punk is scared of him, which he has known since Royal Rumble after Punk kept attacking him from behind every chance he got. He says that the fans continue to chant Punk's name despite this, and accuses the fans of being enablers for CM Punk before stating that what Punk will be going through in their strap match will be on them. McIntyre says the fans has chosen nostalgia over what is going on right now, and as he states that Punk will regret challenging him to a strap match as he lashes him again and again, Punk shows up behind McIntyre and strikes McIntyre with a leather strap. McIntyre and Punk soon brawl, and when McIntyre gets the upper hand, he grabs the strap only to be slammed into the commentary table and struck with the leather strap again. In Instagram footage from earlier today, Gunther says he is focused on Bash In Berlin, for as much as SummerSlam was the day that he saved professional wrestling, Bash In Berlin will be the day that Randy Orton will have met his match.

Randy Orton heads to the ring. Orton says that for the entirety of his career, he has listened to the voices in his head, but as of late, he has been listening to the voices of the fans, and he thanks them for the warm reception, saying it means the world to him even if it took fifteen years. He says he won a lot of titles in his career, but the won that he loves the most is the World Heavyweight Championship, as it is the first world title that he won and that he has history engrained in that built. He also talks about how he retired the original World Heavyweight title after unifying it with the WWE Championship, but when the title was re-introduced, he was at home recovering from spinal fusion history and did not know if he would compete ever again. Orton says that he wants to engrain his name in the World Heavyweight Championship again and that he has the opportunity on Saturday to create a new legacy. He says that he will be stepping into enemy territory in Berlin, Germany and that he will be facing a living legend in Gunther, whose head is shoved so far up his own ass that he has no idea what he will be facing in him. Orton says he grew up in the front of the WWE fans and that he signed his first contract when he was nineteen years old, and that the fans have watched him become humble and learn from his mistakes over and over again until he stepped out from the shadows and took them out one by one. He says that Gunther was an arrogant young prick at that age and that this may be the one thing they have in common, and while he may have been humbled, Gunther has never been put in his place, which will happen on Saturday. Orton says it only had to be about the World Heavyweight Championship, but Gunther made it personal by talking about his family and his personal demons. He says he has beaten those demons, which are more powerful than any opponent Gunther has ever known. He then says he will beat Gunther just like he beat his personal demons.

We hear from The Unholy Union (Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn), who say that Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair are not the unstoppable force they were thought to be, and that they will expose them for the frauds that they are while staying Women's Tag Team Champions.

He then warns the eventual tournament winner that the worst is yet to come.

We hear from Chad Gable and American Made (Julius Creed, Brutus Creed, Ivy Nile), saying he does not hide behind a mask and has his family do his dirty work. He then says that the world will find out that Bo Dallas is an ordinary guy who has been messing with someone who is not only anything but extraordinary, but also "American Made."

We hear from Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley. Priest says The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Carlito, Liv Morgan) have given their explanation, and says they are indeed the bad guy. Rhea says The Judgment Day made them the bad guys that they are. Priest says The Judgment Day want to play victim, but they will become victims at Bash In Berlin, while Rhea Ripley says that they will show no mercy.

WWE acknowledges the life and career of Sid Eudy, also known as "Sid Justice," "Sycho Sid," and "Sid Vicious."

Uncle Howdy beats Chad Gable after Ivy Nile distracts the referee only for Howdy to send Gable into the referee when he breaks out of the ankle lock. This leads to The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) showing up to attack Uncle Howdy, but Howdy laughs and the lights go out. The rest of The Wyatt Sicks (Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Erick Rowan) show up to go on the attack, and they, The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile all fight their way through the crowd while Gable and Uncle Howdy fight it out in the ring again. Perry says that as the greatest FTW Champion who ever lived, he felt he had the responsibility to say a few nice words about the title, saying it was a good title with its ups and downs that was misunderstood at times, and yet it has grown near and dear to his heart, for when people look up the FTW Championship in 100 years, they will find his face next to it. He says that instead of being sad that it is over, everyone should remember the good times, then plays a slideshow of himself with the FTW Championship and nothing else. As he pretends to cry with an orange handkerchief, Perry says the FTW Championship will leave a beautiful legacy behind thanks to him and that it is finally time to send the title to a better place. Jack Perry then pulls out a sledgehammer from underneath the table, and as he is about to swing, the lights go out and we see a video of Hook doing pull-ups on city crossing lights. Eddie is about to take the microphone, but Orange Cassidy takes it away from him and is about to speak when The Blackpool Combat Club and Proud and Powerful. Moxley tells Eddie to think through his anger for a second and tells him that he made the challenge and allowed them to pick any partners that they want, and that he should not be surprised that they picked Proud and Powerful. Santana says the last year has been full of pain, struggle and torture and realizing who is real and who is not and it will all culminate at All In as Eddie Kingston heads to the back before Claudio Castagnoli says that none of them are Eddie's friends anymore and that Eddie blames everyone but himself for it and fails to take responsibility. Ortiz says one reaps what one sows (as if to quote Eddie saying "All I do is reap"), then Eddie Kingston is seen backstage only to be unable to find them, even after he grabs a member of the film crew and demanding to know where they are. Eddie says he is not surprised that Proud and Powerful turned of him and that he will still gut them up and watch them die in the Stadium Stampede match, then tells Jon Moxley to get out of his way because he knows he has a family and he does not want to hurt him. Final Impact - Impact Wresting recap for August 26, 2015

The show begins with The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) showing up. Jeff apologizes for breaking his leg and promises he'll make it up to the fans. He then says that in the beginning, only he, Jeff and the fans believed they would make it...and here they are. Jeff then says that Matt needs one more shot, and if he can get it, he can become TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Matt says it's been one year since TNA welcomed him back, and everyone from the company to the fans to his family have been incredible to him. He says that his last match with Ethan Cater III was incredible and could have went either way, and says he feels he is the man who can carry TNA into the future, and tells EC3 that he's taking the World title. Just like Jeff, he feels he can become World champion with one more shot. Ethan Carter III and Tyrus show up. EC3 says that in 1999, he was at a live event for a match that involved ladders...and the Hardys. Now that he's dealing with them, he says he couldn't be any more disappointed, and says that he was victorious in his last meeting with Matt...and that he's not getting his one more chance. EC3 and Tyrus turn around to leave, but Jeff Hardy wants to know from EC3 why he's a "grade A jackass." EC3 says he is a franchise, and says the World title is "top guy stuff." He calls Jeff "a daredevil who can't stick a landing" and tells him to tread lightly. Jeff knows he's not medically cleared, but he's ready to throw down with a steel chair. EC3 whispers into Tyrus' ear, then says he's a granter of opportunities. He says that if the crowd can chant "Matt 4 Champ," he'll grant the rematch. He grants it, but there's a caveat: if Matt wins, he becomes World champion. If EC3 wins, Jeff has to be his personal assistant and has to do all his menial work.

Eric Young tells Chris Melendez he can't be held responsible for what happens to him, and says he's crazy to accept another match from him. He's taken everything he can from him, and now he plans to take the one thing he has left: his prosthetic leg.

Jeff and Karen Jerrett says they're happy to be here and that tonight will be a huge night on Impact Wrestling.

Eric Young beats Chris Melendez after putting legs hand on the ropes during the pinfall. EY takes Melendez' leg, calls himself a "big game hunter," then says that "it's going on the mantle."

Tigre Uno retains the TNA X Division Championship against Sonjay Dutt and DJ Z.

"The Cowboy" James Storm tells Abyss and Manik that Mahabali Shera (or Khoya) is no longer part of The Revolution, and that it's all about them now. He wants Abyss and Manik to bring the gold back to them. Storm tells Manik that if he ever sees him dancing like a monkey again, he will cut him down.

The Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships against The Revolution (Abyss and Manik), thanks to Mahabali Shera stopping "The Cowboy" James Storm from doing much in the way of interference.

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) appear again. Jeff says that Ethan Carter III is always throwing money around, and there are still a lot of unknowns about the deal. Nevertheless, Jeff accepts Ethan Carter III's caveat for Matt Hardy vs. EC3 for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship next week.

Brooke beats Velvet Sky by disqualification when Jade and Marti Bell attack Brooke outside of the ring. Jade and Marti Bell continue their attack on Velvet Sky, but Rebel shows up to make the save...or so we think. Rebel kicks Velvet Sky in the back of the head, and the three of them attack Velvet Sky. Taryn Terrell appears on the TitanTron, telling Velvet she made a mistake messing with The Dollhouse (Taryn, Jade, Marti), and that she just met the newest member. Rebel is officially a member of The Dollhouse.

Bobby Roode plans to prove to Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter and the wrestling world why he is the "It Factor of Professional Wrestling" by getting a shot at the TNA King of the Mountain Championship.

Mr. Anderson says that actions speak louder than words...and that's what he has to say about the TNA King of the Mountain Championship. Meanwhile, Drew Galloway is on the phone backstage...

Bobby Roode beats James Storm, Lashley and Mr. Anderson to become #1 contender to the TNA King of the Mountain Championship.

The cover girl for the 2016 TNA Knockouts Championship is...all three. Brooke, Gail Kim and Velvet Sky will all be on the cover of the calendar.

Ethan Carter III says that Jeff and Matt Hardy accepting his challenge is the best decision they've ever made, and says that after Matt loses, he wants no qualms about it as he welcomes Jeff Hardy to Team EC3.

Dixie Carter shows up. She says that when someone sincerely offers their help, you listen and be a team player, and do not let stubbornness get in the way. She says that she was one of the few people who knew that the opportunity for Jeff Jarrett to help was there, and says she couldn't be any happier. She asks him to come to the ring, and he does. Jarrett says that the new chapter in their relationship was so out of the blue that it was the very last thing he was expecting, but he's glad it happened. He says that he's glad that Dixie accepted his help after what has happened since that phone call, as it is win-win for TNA, Global Force Wrestling and the wrestling fan. He says they've kept it going, but they've got to keep it growing. Dixie says that together, he and Jarrett are unstoppable, and that the show needs a leader. Before Dixie can make a decision on whether to make Jarrett that leader, Drew Galloway crashes the proceedings. He says that the TNA-GFW partnership has gotten everyone in the back fired, and respects Jeff Jarrett for what he's doing, but says that he found out something twenty minutes ago: security footage showing the license plates of the two getaway cars from the attacks, both sharing one name: Jeff Jarrett. Galloway knows that with him and Bully Ray out of the picture, Jarrett has everything to gain and nothing to lose. Jarrett vehemently defends himself, but Galloway threatens to drop him where he stands if he's lying about who it was. Suddenly, the perpetrator reveals themselves: Karen Jarrett, who says she did it for her family and for Global Force Wrestling, saying that Jeff deserves this. She says that Jeff started TNA, and that one little spark can cause a giant inferno. All of a sudden, Jeff Jarrett kicks Drew Galloway in the balls, and as his Global Force Wrestling storm the ring and attack Galloway, Jarrett tells Dixie that sometimes, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Rockstar Spud and the TNA locker room rush in to counter them, but it turns into an all-out brawl where the GFW roster comes out on top. The show ends with the GFW roster and the Jarretts celebrating the start of a hostile takeover of TNA.
