Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 28, 2014

The show in Houston, Texas starts with John Cena entering the ring. He's not very enthusiastic, since he now knows he has to defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, and knows Brock will probably crush him. Cena refuses to give up, and if he was able to beat him at Extreme Rules at 2012, he'll be able to do it again. Paul Heyman shows up, and states that Lesnar will win at SummerSlam after plowing Cena into oblivion. Cena says that he shares the same passion for wrestling as Heyman, unlike Lesnar, and plans to walk away with the title. All of a sudden, Cesaro shows up, and even though they went their separate ways, he defends Heyman's honor and challenges Cena to a match after making fun of him, saying that Cena is a "walking billboard" that can't wrestle and making fun of his sneakers. Cena accepts that challenge, and he accepts it right now.

Stephanie McMahon is distraught after the events of last week, and says "this" must work, whatever "this" is. Randy Orton confronts Triple H and wants to be in the SummerSlam main event, but Triple H refuses, saying Roman Reigns is in the way. He tells Orton to finish Reigns off if he wants a title shot, but Reigns is in a match with Kane tonight. Orton says he has a problem with Roman Reigns and Kane - and Triple H - upon hearing this.

Paige shows up. She still considers AJ Lee her best friend despite her actions from last week, when she saw her as a threat. AJ Lee shows up, and says she knows Paige did what she did out of spite, and if she wanted to talk crap to her, she'd do it to her face. Paige calls AJ "crazy." AJ forgives her, then she beats Paige up!

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon show up. Triple H says he's never been as ticked off as he was last week, when the WWE Universe considered it funny (according to him) that Stephanie was arrested and hauled off to jail. Nevertheless, Triple H says the arrest was just a misunderstanding. All charges from Brie Bella have been dropped except for the assault and battery charges, and Triple H and Stephanie McMahon now want to reconcile. Stephanie asks Brie to come out, but she and Triple H get Chris Jericho instead. Jericho gives Stephanie her sympathies by singing Bad Boys" by Inner Circle. He continues to make fun of Triple H and Stephanie, even calling Stephanie a "trash bag, bottom-feeding ho." Chris Jericho takes on Erick Rowan this Friday on SmackDown!

Stephanie McMahon shows up. As she speaks, Brie Bella shows up. Stephanie asks Brie to drop all the charges against her, but Brie isn't buying it. Stephanie wants to give Nikki a raise, but Brie wants some demands met. One is her job back. The other is a match against Stephanie McMahon at SummerSlam, which tears Stephanie apart and makes her very, very reluctant to agree to her demands. She agrees tearfully, but then she slaps Brie and tells her at SummerSlam, she's going to be her bitch. This starts a brawl between Brie and Stephanie that road agents and Triple H have to break up.

My predictions for WWE Battleground 2014

Cameron vs. Naomi

The inevitable has finally occured: The Funkadactyls, Cameron and Naomi, have finally entered Splitsville and have turned against each other! It's only a matter of time before the differences between them explode!

My prediction: Naomi will win the kick-off.

John Cena (c) vs. Kane vs. Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns
in a Fatal Four-Way match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Well, it had to happen, didn't it? Not long after winning the WWE World Heavyweight title, Cena butts head with the authority. Now he and three other men from the Money In The Bank Championship Ladder Match are all butting heads again, this time in a Fatal Four-Way match where Cena doesn't have to be pinned to lose.

My prediction: Cena will retain.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Big E vs. Bo Dallas vs. Cesaro vs. Curtis Axel vs. Damien Sandow vs. Dolph Ziggler vs. Fandango vs. Kofi Kingston vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Ryback vs. Sheamus vs. The Great Khali vs. The Miz vs. Zack Ryder
in a Battle Royal for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship

A bunch of guys in the mid-card gun for the Intercontinental title all at once. Who's going to win?

My prediction: Expecting a win from Sheamus somehow.

Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho

Chris Jericho is back! Not long after he shows back up, though, Bray Wyatt decides to pick a fight with him. Now Jericho is in deep with an opponent the likes of which he's never known!

My prediction: Bray Wyatt will probably win this one.

AJ Lee (c) vs. Paige
for the WWE Divas Championship

It's the rematch of the rematch you guys wanted to see. Paige has respect for AJ Lee now, but it's going to go out the window on July 20th.

My prediction: AJ Lee will retain.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) (c) vs The Wyatt Family (Erick Rowan and Luke Harper)
in a Two Out Of Three Falls Match for the WWE Tag Team Championships

It's happening again, but with best two-out-of-three rules in effect, this will be the brawl to end it all.

My prediction: Wyatts will take the titles. Seriously, I mean it this time.

Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins

Well, it was bound to happen, wasn't it?

My prediction: For some reason, I think Rollins is going to win this one somehow. Probably interference via Kane or Orton (predicting Kane).

Jack Swagger vs. Rusev

Now that Rusev has conquered one patriotic American, he now has to conquer a real American...Jack Swagger. Will the Accolade conquer the Patriot Lock, or will Swagger become a real American hero like GI Joe?

My prediction: Swagger will end Rusev's reign of terror once and for all.

Layin' da SmackDown! - SmackDown recap for July 18, 2014

Dean Ambrose shows up. He criticizes Seth Rollins for his ambush on him earlier this week on Raw, and says it'll take more than that to keep him from destroying him at Battleground. He also says he tweaked his knee on Monday, and he can't go after him until Battleground. Ambrose doesn't care, and wants Rollins to come to the ring. Rollins then tells him that as per Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, Ambrose has a match, but not against him...it's against Kane.

Alberto Del Rio beats Kofi Kingston.

Fandango wishes Summer Rae and Layla in their match, and says they'll come back to him when he wins the Intercontinental title. Summer and Layla, however, are tired of having to share him and want him out of their lives. Bo Dallas shows up and tells Fandango to Bo-lieve.

AJ Lee and Paige beat Summer Rae and Layla with the Black Widow. Even though AJ tagged herself in to win the match, AJ and Paige still appear to be frenemies.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) advertise for Sonic...and Hornswoggle gets a brain freeze.

Seth Rollins tells Kane not to take what Randy Orton did personally, and to focus on Dean Ambrose. Kane tells Seth Rollins not to get any ideas about cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase.

Though Cesaro cannot compete tonight according to Heyman, he will be in the battle royal for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship at Battleground. Immediately after this is announced, Dolph Ziggler shows up and tells Heyman that unlike Cesaro, he's won a briefcase at Money In The Bank and cashed in to become World champ. Ziggler then announces he's entering the battle royal. As Ziggler tells Cesaro to man up, Big E shows up and puts his hat in the running for it, too. So do Rybaxel (Ryback and Curtis Axel), who also show up as Big E speaks. Rob Van Dam shows up after this and, after making a joke about Ryback copying his singlets, throws his hat in the ring before everyone gets in a brawl. Ziggler, Big E and RVD are the only guys left in the ring after all the heels are cleared out in seconds.
