Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for January 30, 2014

Bedlam is in the back at the start of the show!

Magnus comes out with Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud. Magnus brags about the removal of AJ Styles and Sting. Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe come out and clear the ring. They're tired of "the screwing of the herd," and Magnus challenges them to a tag match against him and EC3. If Magnus and EC3 win, Joe and Angle are gone for good. Samoa Joe adds to the odds: if they win, they get a shot at the World title. Magnus accepts, but Dixie shows up...and says no, as the new investor is coming shortly and she can't risk Magnus losing the title. Magnus accepts anyway, and the match is on for later tonight.

The new investor is here...

Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards protect the investor's identity...

Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne beat Gail Kim and Lei'D Tapa. Chris Sabin barges in and demands an apology from Velvet for last week. Velvet tells him they're through!

Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle go after Bobby Roode!

Bobby Roode is spared in the end, though, after Samoa Joe tells him to think about who hired him.

"The Cowboy" James Storm comes out and calls out Gunner. Gunner knows Storm would have done what he did, and that he fought beside him like a Marine Corps buddy. They get back on the same page, but Bad Influence (Christopher Daniels and Kazarian) show up to verbally crap on them. They challenge them to a match with the World title briefcase on the line. They accept!

Rockstar Spud plans to hit the ring to get answer about the new investor.

Rockstar Spud enters the ring. He's here to find out who the new investor is, and calls him or her out. The American Wolves (Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards) show up, and Spud wants answers. The Wolves are unintimidated by Spud, who slaps Richards. Spud gets beat down promptly, and is told to wait just like everyone else. As for the investor, he's interested in the main event, and if anyone interferes in it, they're fired!

During Eric Young and Abyss vs The Bro Mans (Robbie E and Jesse Godderz) for the TNA Tag Team Championships, Abyss attacks everyone, including the ref and Eric Young. Eric grabs a mic and challenges Abyss to one more experiment: Young vs Abyss, next week, in a Monster's Ball match!

Bully Ray rolls a casket to the ring.

Samuel Shaw and Christy Hemme go to Sam's place...and it appears one room is a Christy Hemme shrine.

Bully Ray comes out with the casket. Once again, he blames Mr. Anderson for his downfall. He challenges Anderson to one last match: a casket match. Anderson shows up and not only accepts, but also beats Bully up!

Magnus isn't thrilled to have Ethan Carter III as a partner, and Ethan is jealous of Magnus.

Samoa Joe and Kut Angle beat Magnus and Ethan Carter III after Joe gets Magnus to tap out to the rear naked choke. Joe is now #1 contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Dixie is furious! Samoa Joe tells Magnus to shine his belt, and Kurt thanks the Glasgow, Scotland crowd as he is heading to the TNA Hall of Fame! Dixie wants to see the investor now...and it's none other than Montell Vontavious Porter...MVP!

He wants in on the Elimination Chamber match, and stares down Triple H after saying that neither he nor Triple H will not leave until he gets what he wants. Triple H sics The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) on him. Bryan has a chair, but it doesn't save him. Layin 'da SmackDown! - SmackDown recap for January 24, 2014

Bad News Barrett shows up to badmouth The Miz and Brodus Clay.

The Miz beats Brodus Clay, then goes after Bad News Barrett...but can't.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) plan to win the Royal Rumble match and headline WrestleMania.

Rybaxel (Ryback and Curtis Axel) hands Los Matadores (Fernando and Diego) their first loss.

CM Punk shows up. Despite his #1 position, he still plans to win the Royal Rumble match. Kane shows up to wish Punk luck...not. Punk makes fun of Kane, saying he lost his manhood along with his mask.

The Wyatt Family (Luke Harper and Erick Rowan) beat The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil). Bray Wyatt plans to destroy Daniel Bryan on Sunday, but Daniel Bryan shows up and sticks it to Bray Wyatt.

Kofi Kingston beats Fandango.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) and The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) vs The Brotherhood (Cody Rhodes and Goldust), The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) and Big E Langston is thrown out after the match goes out of control...and it spirals down even further as other Superstars charge the ring to start an impromptu Royal Rumble match to close out the show!

My predictions for WWE Royal Rumble 2014

The Brotherhood (Cody Rhodes and Goldust) (c)

vs.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn)

for the WWE Tag Team Championships

The Royal Rumble kick-off brings us The New Age Outlaws. They came back to help CM Punk against the Shield...twice. But the third time, they turned on him and now plan to strike out once again to become TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS OF THE WORLD!!! But they have The Brotherhood to take on if they want to do this...

My prediction: The Brotherhood will probably retain.

2014 Royal Rumble Match

Here are the known participants:
Batista
CM Punk (entering at #1)
Alberto Del Rio
Big E Langston
The Miz
R-Truth
Xavier Woods
Kofi Kingston
Cody Rhodes
Goldust
Rey Mysterio
Fandango
Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins
Dean Ambrose
Erick Rowan
Luke Harper
Damien Sandow
Jimmy Uso
Jey Uso
Jack Swagger
Antonio Cesaro
Wade Barrett

My prediction: Really hoping that CM Punk wins this one. Screw the odds.

Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena

for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

(pinfall or submission only)

As if the no-DQ match from TLC wasn't enough, there just has to be a rematch since John Cena lost the old World Heavyweight title to Randy Orton the first time around. Now that the title is unified, it's for all the marbles...again...and this time, it's a straightforward regular wrestling match that's pinfall or submission only.

My prediction: Orton will probably retain again.

Big Show vs. Brock Lesnar

Shortly after TLC, Brock Lesnar returned...and Paul Heyman returned with him. With Brock Lesnar absolutely destroying Mark Henry and threatening to absolutely destroy anyone who gets in his way solely with his own presence, Big Show took on Lesnar...and threw him halfway across the ring like a rag doll! Later that week on SmackDown, it was on.

My prediction: Big Show will knock Lesnar out.

Daniel Bryan vs. Bray Wyatt

After betraying The Wyatt Family after a steel cage tag team match, Daniel Bryan reveals he joined the family to hit Bray Wyatt where it matters the most...both physically and mentally. Since Wyatt's cronies are both in the Royal Rumble match, it's just him and Bray in another one-on-one match...one that Daniel Bryan hopes to win...

My prediction: YES! YES! YES! Daniel Bryan all the way!

After the break, Sting questions if "Dixie Carter's TNA" is TNA's future, and tells Dixie Carter she's crossed the line, especially with the "family emergency" that she used to get Kurt Angle out of the arena last week.
