Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 28, 1998

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Eric Bischoff and Hollywood Hogan show up, and Scott Hall (who is much more sober this time around) and Brian Adams join up with them as they are halfway down the aisle. Hogan says that the fans were begging Hogan to step on them so his feet could not touch the ground, and that you can fool some of the wrestling fans some of the time, but you can never fool a black-and-white nWo-ite anytime. Hogan brags about making wrestling and WCW what they are today, and if it wasn't for him, all the fans' heroes would be zeroes. He then says the wrestling fans are just as gullible as the wrestlers he will pluck off one at a time. He says he is on a mission where he will beat The Warrior at Halloween Havoc and prove to him that the running and the hiding from him only delayed the inevitable. He then challenges Sting and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, and if they have the guts, he will rip them apart. Tonight, he takes his business back and nWo Hollywood takes over once again.

La Parka beats Super Calo. After the match, Super Calo beats La Parka up with his own steel chair.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. He says he is not worried about his bad knee, and says has he has waited a long time to get his hands on Hollywood Hogan, and that he and Sting have agreed to give him the first shot at Hollywood Hogan. Hart plans to get back at Hogan for leading him down the wrong path and hiding from him for years, and that he has people watching his back. He says it is time to settle the score, and that Hogan will be a zero as Hart plans to prove that he can be a hero for the fans. All he needs is one chance.

The Disciple beats Sick Boy.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Scott Steiner says it is easy to see that not all men are created equal when he steps into the ring, and if there is a man who looks as great as he does, he would like to meet him as he does not exist.

Scott Steiner beats Lenny Lane and Nick Dinsmore in a handicap match with a double Steiner Recliner. After the match, Scott Steiner puts his lower back out.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

The Warrior shows up. He calls out Hollywood Hogan, saying he knows who Hogan is and who he himself is, and what the Warriors want to see. He says Hogan has brought nothing but disappointment, and he senses that disappointment in the fans. He sends Hogan a message: since his return, Hogan has brought nothing before him except a pittance of the man he once knew. A fan is caught by security trying to rush the ring before he can continue speaking at this point. He calls the fan an example of that disappointment and "a lost Warrior," as Hogan has not answered the ultimate challenge. When Hogan looks at him, he sees only a piece of himself, and he refuses to make himself less than what he is until Hogan finds who he needs to be. At Halloween Havoc, he will become full-blown, and Hogan will face the challenge for the second time of his life.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Buff Bagwell, who apologizes for being out of breath. He has had to put Scott Steiner in the ambulancebut before he can say anything else, the wicked laughter is heard again, and Buff briefly thinks it is Okerlund until Okerlund says otherwise. Buff then says he has three ruptured discs in his lower back, and that Scott is hurt and that the match at Halloween Havoc may not happen. He then tells Rick Steiner to suck it up.

Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller tells Psychosis he is a three-time world karate champion, and that he can tear him apart in seconds. He gives him the count of five to leave the ring, and if he is still there, he will give him the beating of his life. Psychosis does not even leave, due to him not knowing English. Upon finding this out, The Cat then hits Psychosis with a standing side kick.

Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Psychosis. After the match, The Cat declares that he is the greatest and that he is a bad man.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Alex Wright, who immediately starts speaking German before realizing Okerlund cannot speak German and calls him an old midget. He then asks the crowd how it feels to grow up in a city like Rochester, New York, and says it makes them feel like losers. He then says he sees another loser in the locker room who is "shaking like a leaf:" The British Bulldog. He says Bulldog is spineless because he did not answer his challenge at Thunder last week, and gives him another chance to come out to the ring. He also says he is much better looking and a much better wrestler, he is also a much better dancer. His music hits and Wright starts dancing, then the next match happens.

Disco Inferno beats Chavo Guerrero, Jr. after jabbing the stick of Pepe into Chavo Guerrero's throat behind the referee's back. Juventud Guerrera shows up and tries to tell the referee what happened, but Disco beats him up, once after he shows up and again as Juvi checks on Chavo.

We see a video package of The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer' Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko).

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer' Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko). Eric Bischoff, Stevie Ray and head of WCW security Doug Dellinger show up before Flair can even get started, and they bring local law enforcement with him. Bischoff tells Flair that felony assault charges have been filed against him from putting his hands on Stevie Ray on Thunder. He orders that the Horsemen be arrested along with Dellinger, who he says failed to do his job that night. Bischoff then brings up Flair's younger son Reid again, and calls Flair a disgrace before saying Flair is a coward then and a coward now. He also attests that Flair lives vicariously through his ten-year-old son's wrestling career.

Chris Jericho heads to the ring with his own personal security in a parody of Goldberg's entrance again. This time around, they find the ring much faster than they did at Fall Brawl. When Goldberg shows up this time, it is the real deal, and Goldberg carries the man who played the fake Goldberg over his shoulder. A surprised Jericho shoves two of his personal security into the path of Goldberg, who immediately Spears both of them and Jackhammers one. Jericho flees, and Goldberg tells him he is next.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Diamond Dallas Page. DDP says he and Goldberg respect each other, but at the same time, they have a highly competitive nature. When he thinks about getting in the ring with Goldberg, it takes him to a whole new level much like Sammy Sosa and Mark McGuire. He knows that he is not the only one wanting the World title as The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer' Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko), nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac all want it, too. He says the Horsemen may be for a long time, nWo Hollywood forever and nWo Wolfpac for life, but at Halloween Havoc, he will be for real.

Scott Hall beats Kidman. During the match, Scott Hall tries to get a drink again (despite Vincent telling him he has to win before he can get drunk), but Kidman punches him in the gut mid-sip.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

Before the next match, The British Bulldog says Alex Wright can dance all he wants, but he's been all over the world and Eight can't even lace the boots of his 11-year-old son in the back. He then tells Alex Wright to "suck it."

The British Bulldog vs. Alex Wright ends in a no-contest. During the match, Alex Wright's boot knocks down referee Billy Silverman as The British Bulldog puts Wright in a power slam. Referee Charles Robinson shows up as The Bulldog tries to revive Silverman. Wright pins Bulldog with a gut wrench suplex, and both referees get in the ring and count at the same time. Since both men have their shoulders down at the same time, Billy Silverman believes Bulldog won, but Charles Robinson says Alex Wright won. Wright attacks Bulldog after the match. During the replay, it is is seen that both men got their shoulder up at the same time.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

A fan is seen standing in front of Kevin Nash on the stage before the next match.

Kevin Nash beats Brian Adams by disqualification after Stevie Ray and Vincent shows up and Stevie Ray hits Nash with a slapjack. Scott Hall, now with a drink in his hand, shows up, then dumps the drink out of the cup before punching and kicking at Nash. Lex Luger and Konnan then rush into the ring, and the black-and-white nWo members scurry out of the ring.

Lex Luger and Konnan beat Barry Darsow and Hugh Morrus with a Torture Rack on Barry Darsow. Konnan gets a Tequila Sunrise on Morrus just before the match ends.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Hollywood Hogan vs. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart ends in a no-contest. During the match, Hogan works on Bret's injured knee, and Sting, Lex Luger and Konnan have to defend Bret from Hogan. Bret tries to get back in the ring, but Sting, Luger and Konnan tell him he is in no shape to fight, and Bret is placed on a gurney . Sting then takes his trenchcoat off, and Sting takes the match. (This ends up being the only time Hogan and Bret face each other in the ring.) As Konnan and Luger take Bret to an ambulance, Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell - dressed as surgeons - attack them. Scott Steiner unhooks Bret from the gurney, and Bret limps back to the ring. He gets back in the ring, cheers Sting on and then suddenly hits Sting with a DDT before pummeling him. Hogan bows down to Bret "The Hit Man" Hart who is not even hurt, and Bret puts Sting in the Sharpshooter. Hogan then tosses Bret a steel chair, and Bret catches it before smashing it into Sting's knee and putting him in a Figure Four Leg Lock on the ring post. Hogan mocks Sting, saying Sting has quit, then Konnan rushes to ringside, as does Luger. Luger and Konnan help Sting out of the ring.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 28, 1998

RAW

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin's music hits to start tonight's show, but instead the crowd gets WWF owner Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter and a squad of police officers. Vince is seen holding Austin's custom-made WWF Championship belt. He tells the crowd that he knew they would be upset with him, but time heals all wounds, and the next time he says he will guarantee them something, they will listen to him. All he ever wanted from Austin was to listen to him and taken direction, but he did not want to do it and he had to remove the title from him the hard way. Now he is doing things his way, and he ensures that there will be no re-match for the WWF Championship for Austin. However, in a "magnanimous gesture," he will show he does not carry a grudge against Austin by declaring tonight "'Stone Cold' Steve Austin Night" and will celebrate his career. Vince then says he has a "welcoming committee" in the form of a police perimeter by Detroit, Michigan's finest to ensure Austin has "easy access." He also announces that a new WWF Champion will be crowned tonight and presented the championship - the official one, and not Austin's custom-made belt which will go above the fireplace on the mantle at one of his homes with all his other awards. Vince then asks Austin if he will be part of the ceremony, then asks Sgt. Slaughter to place Austin's custom-made WWF Championship around his waist.

Before the next match, "Road Dogg" Jesse James announces that he has his voice back.

Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) beat The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) by disqualification after Road Dogg takes "Double J" Jeff Jarrett's guitar away from him as he tries to get involved and uses it as a weapon. Billy Gunn confronts Road Dogg, telling him he had the match won, and when X-Pac tries to play peacemaker, Billy Gunn pushes him back, poking him in his injured eye. Billy Gunn leaves, and when Chyna and a wheelchair-bound "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley confront Gunn, Gunn pushes them away and heads to the back.

Dan "The Beast" Severn is seen welcoming the Detroit Red Wings hockey team at the front row before the next match.

Michael Cole is near D-Generation X's locker room, where a very loud argument can be heard.

Dan "The Beast" Severn vs Owen Hart ends when Owen hits Severn with a piledriver. The piledriver makes it impossible for Severn to move his arms after his head hits the mat.

After a commercial break, Dan "The Beast" Severn is fitted with a neck brace and placed onto a stretcher.

After another break, Dan "The Beast" Severn is wheeled out of the arena and into an ambulance.

Before the next match, Vader shows up with WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter.

Al Snow beats Vader after using Head as a weapon while WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter distracts the referee.

"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn is seen leaving the arena with his bags.

D'Lo Brown beats Gangrel, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, Darren "Puke" Drozdov, "Marvelous" Marc Mero and Edge in a Four Corners Match to become #1 contender to the WWF European Championship. (During this match, two men are in the ring, while the other wait to be tagged in.) Jarrett and Droz are both counted out after they fight each other outside of the ring Mero is eliminated when D'Lo Brown hits him with a Lo-Down meant for Edge. D'Lo Brown beats Edge after the young man with the long brown hair shows up and distracts Edge, and this time this young man is seen with Gangrel, who has already been eliminated. Both the young man and Gangrel leave through the crowd together.

WAR ZONE

WWF owner Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco, WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaugher and a host of Detroit, Michigan policeman show up for the crowning of a new WWF Champion. The ring has red carpet, and in the center is a podium with the official WWF Championship belt under glass. Vince introduces The Undertaker, then Kane. Before Vince can even get started, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up...on a Zamboni. He rides the Zamboni into the arena, runs it into the ring, climbs out, and jumps from the front of the Zamboni onto Vince McMahon. Jim Ross screams the iconic line "Austin got McMahon! Austin got McMahon!" The police quickly move into place and arrest Austin, who still tries to fight Vince despite being handcuffed. Austin is taken out of the ring and escorted into a squad car, and Austin says towards the camera "I'm not through with ya, Vince! I ain't through with ya, not yet, by a long shot!" Vince follows, screaming at Austin "Take his ass to jail! You go to jail, you son of a bitch! You go to jail!" as the police tell him to calm down. Austin tries to get out of the back of the police car, and Vince dares them to let him go so he can fight him. Austin is placed back in the car, and the car drives off.

After the commercial break, the WWF Championship ceremony gets underway. WWF owner Vince McMahon, The Undertaker and Kane are in the ring, and reminds them that they would get a title shot if they could keep "Stone Cold" Steve Austin away from him. However, after being attacked by Austin three times in the span of a week, they did not live up to their end of the deal and he will not live up to his, and that they will have to fight for the title shot at Judgment Day on October 18th. Since they can't keep Austin out of his business - or theirs - he will put Austin in the match as special guest referee. Vince then hopes his cellmate is telling him all this, because he will be there to watch Austin suffer the indignity of making the three count and handing the WWF Championship to one of them. To ensure that the fans are not cheated tonight, The Undertaker and Kane will be in a handicap match against "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, Mankind and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia. He wishes them the best of luck, as they will both need it, and as far as he is concerned, it is like dealing with the handicapped, saying "one is physical, the other mental." THe Undertaker grabs Vince, takes the microphone, and tells Vince to watch his ass, as the next time he gets out of line with either of them, he will be the one handicapped and he will promise that. Vince tries to flip them the bird from behind, but The Undertaker sees it and he and Kane beat him up. Kane leaves as The Undertaker tries to break Vince's knee, and patrols the ring in case Pat Patterson or Gerald Brisco try to pull Vince out of the ring. Kane ends up getting his hands on Brisco and sending him into the steel steps, then The Undertaker and Kane move Vince to the steel steps, where Vince's knee is sandwiched between both parts of the steps. Kane and The Undertaker leave, with Vince unable to move due to his knee being shattered.

We see footage of WWF owner Vince McMahon being held down on a stretcher, with referees, officials and medical staff waiting for an ambulance. Mankind tries to give Vince a drink, which Vince does not take.

Chyna is special guest referee for the next match.

Faarooq beats "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry after Chyna hits Mark Henry with a low blow, allowing Faarooq to fall on him. After the match, as Chyna looks down at Mark Henry, a man in a suit shows up and places something in her hand. Jim Ross says that it looks like the man is a process server. It is an Airborne Express delivery with a document inside. Chyna tears it up and leaves.

WWF owner Vince McMahon is placed in an ambulance backstage.

Michael Cole interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who says he doesn't like Detroit, Michigan much and doesn't like what happened to him last night, either. He tells "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, Mankind, The Undertaker and Kane he owes every single of them, and he hasn't forgotten about what Mankind did to him with a steel chair.

We see a vignette of Steven Regal: a real man's man. Here, we see him using a construction digger.

The Oddities (Golga and Kurrgan) beat The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) after Luna Vachon distracts the referee so Insane Clown Posse (Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope) can trip Thrasher, allowing Kurrgan to hit a splash for the win.

Michael Cole interviews "The Rock" Rocky Maivia. The Rock says he did what he was going to do when he headed to Break Down: In Your House. He is okay with what's going on tonight as he is the #1 contender for the WWF Championship, and whether anyone likes it or not, there is nothing that could ever compare to being The People's Champion.

Val Venis is seen being given oral sex (though not explicitly) in the locker room. Val Venis asks Terri Runnels if she found the earrings she dropped, to which she raises her head up, replies "not yet" before going back down.

Before the next match, Val Venis says he is here in "Motor City," and says everyone knows what that means. He tells the ladies to show him their headlights, as he is about to drive them all night long.

Val Venis beats X-Pac by disqualification. During the match, Chyna shows up after Terri Runnels trips X-Pac, and Val Venis approaches Chyna as she tries to chase after Terri. Chyna and X-Pac beat up Val Venis outside of the ring. X-Pac retains the WWF European Championship. Val Venis and Terri Runnels then make out inside the ring, then all of sudden, the Goldust entrance theme and video plays on the TitanTron. Dustin Runnels' voice is heard telling Venis "I told you he was coming back," then gold dust falls from the top of the arena.

Michael Cole interviews Mankind, who says two things became apparent after Break Down: he can swing a mighty chair, and in the entire history of professional wrestling, The People's Elbow was the worst move he's ever thing he had ever seen. He hopes that he, "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia will get on the same page so they can all beat The Undertaker and Kane tonight.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, Mankind and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia all fight each other before The Undertaker and Kane show up for the next match.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, Mankind and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia beat The Undertaker and Kane in a 3-on-2 handicap match after The Rock hits The Undertaker with a Rock Bottom.

"Marvelous" Marc Mero beats Darren "Puke" Drozdov after referee Jimmy Korderas is distracted by Mero's wrist tape, which is coming off. As Mero removes the tap in full view of the referee, Jacqueline goes up top and hits Droz with a clothesline, allowing Mero to hit the Wild Thing, which is now known as the Marvelocity.

The D-Generation X "Down Here" T-Shirt is available for $25 plus $6 shipping and handling.

Bradshaw beats Vader with two Clotheslines From Hell and a modified neckbreaker after kicking out of the Vader Bomb.

Kevin Kelly and Tom Prichard interviews Jason Sensation backstage at WWF.com. Jason Sensation does a spot-on impersonation of The Rock, "Road Dog" Jesse James, "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, and The Undertaker when asked who he thinks will win tonight.

D'Lo Brown beats Gangrel, giving Gangrel his first loss after "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry shows up and rams Gangrel into a ring post as referee Jimmy Korderas is distracted. After the match, Gangrel spits blood into the face of Mark Henry before hitting D'Lo Brown with a DDT.

Michael Cole interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who says he will go as far as it takes to become #1 contender for the WWF Championship, which he has come for and calls the only thing that matters. After being burned every time he gets in the ring, he plans to take his frustrations on Mankind and "The Rock" Rocky Maivia. We then see Dok Hendrix interview The Rock, who doesn't care about Shamrock and says that tonight will be his night after he makes Shamrock and Mankind famous en route to becoming The People's Champ, assuming they don't have "sugar in [their] testes." We then see Kevin Kelly interview Mankind, who says that The People's Elbow is the stupidest thing he has ever seen, and that he is also ready for Ken Shamrock. He also asks if "sugar-coated testes" is some sort of new breakfast cereal.

"The Rock" Rocky Maivia beats Mankind and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock in a Triple Threat Cage Match by pinning Shamrock as Mankind climbs out of the cage. The referee is focused more on The Rock, and never sees Mankind climbing out of the cage. A frustrated Mankind tears his hair out after the match.

Judgment Day: In Your House is live on pay-per-view October 18th!

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock is seen losing his cool in and around the steel cage before taking a steel chair backstage.

Before the next match, Val Venis tells Dustin Runnels that there's one thing he's said about his wife Terri: here she comes. Terri Runnels shows up in a purple robe with a very open front, and as Val Venis puts his hands all over her, Dustin Runnels turns away and prays, and Val Venis almost gets a cheap shot in as soon as Runnels turns around.

Val Venis beats Dustin Runnels, then Venis and Terri Runnels make out in the ring.

The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) attack Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) and "Double J" Jeff Jarrett before the next match begins.

Despite "Double J" Jeff Jarrett hitting X-Pac in the head with his guitar, X-Pac and The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) beat "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight). It is revealed after the match that a splinter from the guitar may have hit X-Pac in his right eye. X-Pac is able to get up and head to the back.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin attacks The Undertaker with a steel chair before the next match.

The Undertaker and Kane pin "Stone Cold" Steve Austin at the same time, costing Austin the WWF Championship. During the match, Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco and WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter show up to watch the match from the aisle. At one point, Austin attacks Brisco only for The Undertaker, Kane and Slaughter to stomp on him. A new champion cannot be named immediately, and WWF owner Vince McMahon rushes in to take Austin's custom WWF Championship, then quickly flees in a white limousine. An angry Austin attacks Brisco, Patterson and Slaughter before making his way to the back. Austin finds Vince, who tells him he doesn't have the WWF Championship anymore and that it is now his. Vince then gives Austin the middle finger, gets in the limo, and the limo speeds off.

Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for September 27, 1998

WWF owner Vince McMahon, Gerald Brisco and Pat Patterson shows up as the steel cage is coming halfway down to start tonight's show. Vince says he comes forward to apologize to three WWF Superstars who fought their hearts out last Monday night on Raw: "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, The Rock and Mankind. He says that the three of them competed to see who would become #1 contender for the WWF Championship; unfortunately, there was no winner due to the interference of The Undertaker and Kane. He said that night that he would not be responsible for the actions of The Undertaker and Kane, and he remains steadfast as he was not responsible. However, some are saying that The Rock, Mankind and Shamrock lived up to their end of the bargain while he did not; therefore, those three same individuals will compete in a second Triple Threat Match tonight at Breakdown. However, it will be held in a steel cage to ensure there is no outside interference so there can be a definite winner at #1 contender for the WWF Championship. He also announces that if anyone interferes in the Triple Threat Match for the WWF Championship between "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, The Undertaker and Kane, he will order the match stopped and Austin will be stripped of the WWF Championship. After saying that the only thing better than one Triple Threat Match at the pay-per-view is having two, Vince says that his only regret is that the pay-per-view has to take place in Canada. He then guarantees the fans that tonight, Austin will not leave the ring as WWF Champion.

Backstage, Michael Cole awaits the arrival of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for an interview.

Golga beats Mosh, then Giant Silva and Kurrgan come out on top in a post-match brawl against The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh).

Michael Cole reports backstage that "Triple H" Hunter Hearstl Helmsley has been attacked in his dressing room while X-Pac and "Road Dogg" Jesse James rush in to assist.

Backstage, Michael Cole reports that someone has attacked "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley in the knee with a lead pipe. X-Pac pushes Michael Cole out of the dressing room.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry shows up, even though he is scheduled to face the now-injured "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley later tonight at Breakdown. After ordering ring announcer Tony Chimel out of the ring, he says he has heard that Triple H has gotten himself hurt and will be able to wrestle him tonight. He then says he came out tonight to wrestle and take the WWF Intercontinental Championship for his own while impressing all of his fans and proving he is deserving of tonight's title shot. He says that he is here to impress his mother as well as Chyna, whom he calls his girlfriend. Henry says the fans should be just as mad as he is that Triple H is not in this ring, then calls Triple H a coward and says he is about to head home. Suddenly, WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up and says he can help Henry and Henry can help him. He gives Henry a non-title match against another champion, and he also wants to know to know if the steel cage above the ring is reinforced enough. He says that at 400 lbs., Mark Henry can put the steel cage above the ring tonight to the test. Vince then proposes a non-title match against another champion prior to Breakdown, and while Henry says he did not come here to wrestle in a cage, Vince changes his mind when he tells him that his match is against "Stone Cold" Steve Austin.

Backstage, Michael Cole reports that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is in the building and that he will interview him after the next match. Meanwhile, "The World's Most Dangeorus Man" Ken Shamrock, The Rock and Mankind learn about their Triple Threat Matvh tonight from officials in the background.

We see footage from earlier today where "Stone Cold" Steve Austin was presented with the key to the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada as well as a street named "Stone Cold Way" after him.

Backstage, Michael Cole tries to interview "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, but finds out his dressing room is empty aside from his belongings.

The Disciples of Apocalypse (Skull and 8-Ball) beat "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn in a 2-on-1 handicap match. Before the match, it is announced that if X-Pac and/or "Road Dogg" Jesse James interfere in the match, their pay-per-view matches will not happen and they will not be able to get his revenge against "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. After the match, Paul Ellering and D.O.A. attack Billy Gunn, and X-Pac and Road Dogg make the save only to be ambushed by Jarrett and Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight). Referees and officials have to get in the ring to restore order.

The Undertaker and Kane show up with WWF owner Vince McMahon before "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry vs. "Stone Cold" Steve AUstin can take place. The cage lowers and surrounds the ring as Vince, The Undertaker and Kane make their way to it, and Vince checks to see how sturdy the cage is. Henry's entrance music plays, but fails to show, much to the confusion of Vince. It is then revealed that Chyna is attacking Henry outside of the arena, and referees and officials have to keep them apart. Henry heads to the ring and referees hold Chyna back, but Chyna overpowers them and hits Henry in the back with a pipe before pressing Henry's face to her rear end and telling her to kiss it. All of a sudden, one of the two men working on the cage pushes the other out of the cage, then locks the door and reveals himself to be "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. He beats up Vince, then The Undertaker and Kane climb up the cage while Austin climbs out.

WWF owner Vince McMahon tells the fans who have gotten enjoyment at what "Stone Cold" Steve Austin did to him earlier that he who laughs last laughs loudest, and that tomorrow night on Raw, he will be holding the WWF Championship as he guarantees that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin will not leave the arena with the WWF Championship in his hands tonight.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 21, 1998

The show starts with Scott Hall - with a giant paper bag full of bottles clinking inside - telling head of WCW head of security Doug Dellinger that someone has wrecked his car. Once again, Scott Hall is noticeably drunk, and he tells Dellinger he doesn't tell him what to do as he has a ton of bosses and that he is not one of them when Dellinger recommends that Hall get some coffee to sober up.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Fog and smoke envelops the ring again, but when it clears, The Disciple - who has not been seen since last week - is seen face down in the middle of the ring. The nWo Hollywood contingent heads to the ring only for fog to fill the ring up again. The Disciple disappears, and we hear the voice of The Warrior, who is up in the rafters. Hogan tells Warrior to get in the ring, but The Warrior - who now has The Disciple at his side - tells Hogan that he has been running to hide while he has been running to re-appear. Hogan tells The Warrior to confess that he is scared of him, but The Warrior tells Hogan he will take all the possessions that he believes have value in his life, starting with The Disciple, who kneels besides him as he has not been instilled with the power of the warriors. He then tells Hogan to keep a eye out throughout the evening, for the OWN revolution broadens its scope while the plot of Halloween Havoc thickens, and he guarantees Hogan that he and all the worships will feel the power of The Warrior.

Fit Finley beats Barry Darsow.

Wrath beats Nick Dinsmore.

We see a video package of Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page ahead of the WCW World Heavywight Championship match at Halloween Havoc.

Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men is seen in the front row before the next match.

Rick Steiner quickly beats Rick Fuller, then calls out Scott Steiner that they go way back and that he's beaten him up since he was one year old. He says is 9,000-0 against Scott and that Halloween Havoc will be 9,001. He also tells Buff Bagwell that when he gets him into the ambulance, it will be for good. Wicked laughter is then heard throughout the arena again.

nWo Hollywood makes it way out to the ring again, and Hollywood Hogan calls out The Warrior again while telling him to leave The Disciple out of it. The Warrior shows up and tells Hogan that if he has any courage, to follow him. The nWo Hollywood contingent follows Hogan as The Warrior disappears, and they all make their way to the back. Hogan's dressing room is vandalized yet again, with the sign of the Warrior on the wall with flames coming out if it. Hogan then finds The Disciple in a nearby bathroom, lying on his side. A fire extinguisher is sprayed into the bathroom (which seems to be clearly set off by the cameraman), and when the room clears out, The Disciple is gone again, much to Hogan's shock.

Before the next match, Raven says that loyalty is dead, as he gave to The Flock and they repaid him with their desertion. FOr the crimes perpetrated against him by The Flock, someone has to pay, and Raven takes his anger out on Villano IV and V.

Raven and Kanyon vs. Villano IV and V ends very quickly at the word of referee Nick Patrick after Raven and Kanyon hits Villano IV with a combination power bomb and neckbreaker, which Raven accidentally botches by dropping too early on the neckbreaker. Raven and Kanyon seem to be checking on the Villano along with trainer Danny Young in a rare breaking of kayfabe, then leave the ring. Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay and "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko watch the replay of this and come to the conclusion that Villano IV was dropped hard on his neck, and Villano IV is helped back to the back. (The injury almost forces Villano IV to retire, but he eventually comes back and teams with Villano V again in 2000.)

We see footage from earlier today where Disco Inferno finds out that he is over the weight limit for the Cruiserweight division, and that he has to get down to the limit in two hours before he can face Kidman for the Cruiserweight title later tonight.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Alex Wright shows up, speaking in German and mocking the American fans. He says he is sick of the United States, its people, and WCW, and there is one specific American wrestler that disgusts him: Diamond Dallas Page. He calls out DDP, challenging him to a match, and if he wins, he wants his World title shot at Halloween Havoc. DDP shows up, taping his hands before he walks down the ramp.

Diamond Dallas Page quickly beats Alex Wright. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews DDP after the match, who says that everyone dreams of being a champion, and if you look at WCW's World Heavyweight Champion, who he knows better than most, beside him, they are two different people. Goldberg shot straight to the top faster than anyone else, while DDP had to bust his chops to get here for years. Goldberg has never lost, while DDP has had his share of losses. DDP says that nobody has defeated him as he has taken negatives and turns them into positives. He and Goldberg have big heats, and at Halloween Havoc, he is bringing his heart as he knows that Goldberg is bringing his and they will take each other to a whole new level, and it will be a bumpy, bumpy ride. He then tells Goldberg not to blink for even a second, as he just might feel the bang.

A few guys (whose names are unknown) from Superior, Wisconsin are this week's Nitro Party prize pack winners. We see some footage of their Nitro Party (which heads to a Mean Gene's Burgers location in the town) before we see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller tells Lenny Lane (whom he calls Larry) that he is a three-time karate champion and that he can tear him apart with his bare hands, and gives him five seconds to leave the ring. Lenny Lane almost leaves the ring, but The Cat stops him. Lenny tells him he's not an idiot, and The Cat asks to shake his hand in appreciation. Lenny shakes his hand, then The Cat kicks him in the throat before saying this is his house and that he is the real deal. Lenny Lane almost wins with a schoolboy pin, but The Cat kicks out and goes at it. All of a sudden, Scott Hall stumbles out to the stage and down the ramp with one-half of the WCW tag team titles on his waist. Hall gets on the apron, calling for Kevin Nash, but "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes shows up and pulls him down, telling him he is no condition to do anything in the ring and that he is throwing his life away and he is talking him to the back. Shortly after this, Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Lenny Lane, then says Miller says he is the greatest and that WCW is going to someone hurt.

Disco Inferno is still working out - and sweating up a storm - on the treadmill when it is time to weigh in again. Disco Inferno has made weight.

The wicked laughter is heard again.

We see footage from Backstage Blast from last week where Chris Jericho says he is a unified champion as he brags about being the fake Goldberg and winning the "WCW World Heavyweight Championship" to go along with the Television title, and says that Goldberg will eventually get his rematch. He is also seen wearing a shirt that states "Jericho - 1, Goldberg - 0."

Saturn beats Jerry Flynn after putting him through ring announcer David Penzer's table.

The Jericho-holics Anonymous T-Shirt is now available for $20 plus $5.95 shipping and handling!

Before the next match, Scott Steiner says he finds it amazing that people boo him, because there is nobody in professional sports that looks like him and because he is a winner. He then says that the Boston, Massachusetts has no idea how to win ever since a baseball went between Bill Buckner's legs, and that they did not have the balls to hire Larry Bird as a coach after the championships he has helped win for the Boston Celtics. Buff Bagwell mocks Bill Buckner, then Scott Steiner says he is out here because Hollywood Hogan sent him and Bagwell out to see exactly where Bret "The Hit Man" Hart stands with nWo Hollywood as Bret comes out one week with a Hogan shirt and is Sting's friend the next. He says they decide whether Bret joins or leaves nWo Hollywood, not Bret, and calls Bret out again. Bret hobbles his way to the ring, still wearing a knee brace and not wearing a shirt at all. Buff Bagwell says Bret is faking his injury, and Scott and Buff attack Bret before Scott chokes Bret out with a black-and-white nWo shirt. Sting rushes in, forcing Buff and Scott to run for their lives. Rick Steiner meets Scott and Bagwell from behind, and Bagwell runs to the back before Rick gets a few shots on Scott, who runs away soon after.

Boxer Vinny Pazienza is seen at ringside.

Kidman retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Disco Inferno, who is worn out after working out for two hours to make weight for the match. During the match, Lodi shows up, wanting Kidman to rejoin him so they can go find Raven, nearly costing Kidman the match. All of a sudden, the weird laughter that has been heard for the last few weeks is heard yet again.

We see a solo performance from Tygress of The Nitro Girls.

We see a video package of the new Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko).

Before the next match, Chavo Guerrero Jr. tells Konnan that he isn't the only one who is raza, and imitates Konnan before saying he can be black-and-red. When Konnan refuses to let him join, Chavo wants to see Kevin Nash, and pushes Konnan, who immediately fights back.

Konnan beats Chavo Guerrero, Jr. with the Tequila Sunrise.

The Dean Malenko "Eyes of Ice" T-shirt is available for just $20 plus $5.95 shipping and handling.

Eric Bischoff and Miss Elizabeth show up. Bischoff talks about having built an empire that nobody though he would built, and that on Sunday, he would have built the most successful wrestling organization on Earth. Tomorrow, he heads to Japan to build the largest and most successful organization over there, but he will do it because he knows how, as he has built a model of an organization from top to bottom. He says that WCW is not the company it used to be, and apologizes on behalf of "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who will not be here tonight due to "saying things he shouldn't have said" last week. He says that "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson could not earn Flair the right to wrestle on "his show," and while he can't stop him from speaking on a microphone, he can keep him from wrestling, as he is doing this ofr his own good as the last thing he should be doing at his age is wrestle again. He says The Four Horsemen is history and that Anderson cannot wrestle again. He says it is his company, and he decides who wrestles and well as when and where they do it, like Eddie Guerrero found out last week. Before Bischoff can stop speaking, The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael, Dean Malenko) show up. Bischoff sics WCW security on them, saying they work for him, and tells them they want him gone. Security head Doug Dellinger, who initially stops Flair, steps aside to let the Horsemen in the ring. Flair says Bischoff has lied again, re-introduces him to the new Four Horsemen and tells Bischoff he has abused his power. Instead of beating up executives in blue jeans and Nike sneakers, he laughs at them. Bischoff dares Flair to hit him, but Flair tells him that is not happening tonight, as he doesn't have another $2 million. Flair then confronts Bischoff for telling him he can't take his 10-year-old son to a national wrestling tournament - which he won - and tells him to suck it, before confronting him that for firing him the day after. Flair tells bischoff the Horsemen are too good and that Bischoff is just too bad, and that he made his money by going up and down the road every night. He says Bischoff is sitting on a big contract due to all the superstars in the back who carried the business while he lived on top of it, and that the fans are not here for him. He tells Bischoff that the Horsemen were going from one end of the world to the other picking up women while Bischoff was in the bathroom buying his first condom. Bischoff tells Flair this is Nitro, not the History Channel, and that there is no room in WCW for Flair. Flair tells him Space Mountain is the oldest ride, but it still has the longest line, and reminds him that it was him to introduced him to Hollywood Hogan. Bischoff calls Flair a Hogan wanna-be. Flair tells Bischoff the Horsemen will be on Thunder this Thursday night in Norfolk, Virginia, and the Horsemen surround Bischoff after he asks for Flair's microphone to be cut off, flashing the four fingers to Bischoff in a corner of the ring.

Stevie Ray and The Giant (the latter standing in for Scott Hall) vs. Kevin Nash and Lex Luger ends in a no-contest. During the match, Scott Hall guests on commentary, and asks why "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes did not want him to wrestle Kevin Nash, and Tony Schiavone tells him he is no condition to wrestle. He tells Schiavone to tell Dusty there is no alcohol policy, and to worry about himself. He says his back is sore from carrying Kevin Nash his entire career, and threatens to get in the ring to show how tough Kevin Nash is. Hall then heads to the ring, irritating everyone in the ring in the process as he gets in, and tosses out referee Nick Patrick before daring Kevin Nash to get in the ring with him. Lex Luger tags Nash in at his request, and when Hall punches at him, Nash dodges and Hall lands on his face. The Giant and Stevie Ray take advantage of the situation, with The Giant clobbering Nash while Stevie Ray drags Luger out of the ring. Luger comes back into the ring with a steel chair, and Nash and Luger have a stand-off with Hall. Luger sits in the chair in the corner while Nash sends Hall out of the ring again. The Giant and Stevie Ray finally take Scott Hall to the ring, and Kevin Nash tells Scott Hall that he just lost his best friend because he doesn't know who he is anymore. If Hall wants to go at with him, they can go at it at Halloween Havoc. Nash then promises to Hall that he will show up, and asks that he do the same.

Hollywood Hogan and Eric Bischoff show up yet again, and they both call out The Warrior. The Warrior shows up, and slowly heads towards the ring. Suddenly, The Disciple is walking behind The Warrior. He then stands side by side with Warrior before turning around to reveal "OWN" on the back of his jacket, revealing that The Disciple ahs been turned against Hollywood Hogan.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 21, 1998

RAW

"The Rock" Rocky Maivia shows up to start tonight's show. WWF owner Vince McMahon, Mankind and "The The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock are already in the ring. Vince tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that if he is contemplating rushing this ring and attacking him, then he had better think again. The Undertaker and Kane show up and stand at the stage. Vince then mentions the WWF Championship match at Break Down: In Your House, and once against guarantees that Austin will not longer be WWF Championship. He then tells Mankind, The Rock and Shamrock that he will guarantee them the opportunity of a lifetime, while also further stating that Austin and a volunteer of his choice will be squaring off against The Undertaker and Kane tonight. He asks The Rock, Mankind or Shamrock not volunteer to be Austin's partner, and says he is not asking for favors because he never does. He asks the three of them why they are allied against The Undertaker and Kane, and says he would be honored to have one of them as WWF Champion if they just chased a common goal. He again reiterates to the three of them not to team with Austin tonight, and asks the three of them to compete in a Triple Threat Match tonight, where the winner will face the WWF Champion next week. He even offers to be special guest ring announcer for that match, and says that whoever wins that match, surely won't be facing Austin next week.

Before the next match, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn states that "Double J" Jeff Jarrett used to think that the only talent he had was his voice, but tonight, Jarrett is getting the surprise of his life because he is stomping a mudhole in his ass. After this Billy Gunn does the usual New Age Outlaws ("Road Dog" Jesse James and Billy Gunn) introduction usually reserved for Road Dog, who is providing the cue cards.

"Bad Ass" Billy Gunn beats "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. During the match, Billy Gunn accidentally runs into the top turnbuckle and accidentally pokes referee Tim White in the eyes. Jarrett tries to take advantage of the situation by hitting Gunn in the head with his guitar, but Tim White is able to clear his vision and take the guitar away from him before he can follow through. This allows Gunn to hit a neckbreaker for the win.

It is announced that Sable and Jacqueline will face each other in a wrestling match, with the winner become the first WWF Women's Champion in three years, as WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaugher has re-comissioned the title.

Michael Cole interviews WWF owner Vince McMahon backstage. (Vince Russo and another member of creative is seen in this interview). When asked who would be crazy enough to team with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and if the match will still happen without a partner, Vince says he cannot think of anyone who would want to team with Austin, then says that Austin will still be facing The Undertaker and Kane tonight, partner or no partner.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up, and says that things are starting to look pretty bad for him as The Undertaker and Kane are making deals with WWF owner Vince McMahon. He says that if The Undertaker wants to tell him it's strictly business and that if he's trying to take the WWF Championship, then it really is personal. He tells Vince he can make his stipulations where Kane and The Undertaker can't pin each other, and tells him it's the biggest bunch of crap he's heard in his life. As for tonight's life, he knows nobody will team up with him due to the fear of angering Vince McMahon, and says that partner or no partner, he's still going to wrestle and that nobody can finish him off. He says that going into Break Down, if he is going to go to Hell against The Undertaker and Kane, then everyone should expect "Austin 666" to show up and not "Austin 3:16."

We see footage of The Undertaker and Kane showing up to the arena. Kane is seen wearing street clothes and a black ski mask as he carries his own bags, and two unknown wrestlers move away from them at the mere sight of the duo.

Before the next match can even begin, The Headbangers (Thrasher and Mosh) party with The Oddities (Luna Vachon, Golga, Kurrgan, Giant Silva) and spray silly string into the air, then the silly string is sprayed into the eyes of Giant Silva and Kurrgan before they rip Golga's Cartman doll to shreds.

Michael Cole interviews The Undertaker and Kane. The Undertaker says "Stone Cold" Steve Austin spews so much venom that is is affecting him own mind. He asks Austin who he thinks he is to warn them about anything, and tells him to take a close look at who is standing in front of them. They may have made a business deal with WWF owner Vince McMahon, and regardless of how Austin feels about it, they have a shot at the WWF Championship and that one of them will take it from Austin, and that there is nothing Austin can do about it. He tells Austin he should be more concerned about making his final arrangements, because if he shows up in the ring by himself, there is going to be a funeral.

Jacqueline beats Sable to become the first WWF Women's Champion in three years after "Marvelous" Marc Mero trips Sable during a vertical suplex, allowing Jacqueline to pin Sable. (Tori is seen in the crowd cheering for Sable before the match begins.) During the match, it is announced that Kurrgan and Giant Silva are having their eyes flushed out in the first aid station from the attack from earlier tonight. Michael Cole tries to interview Jacqueline after the match, but Mero screams that he and Jacqueline are heading to Disney World.

WAR ZONE

Before the next match, WWF owner Vince McMahon, Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco watch the match from backstage, gloating at the fact that "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is on his own in this match. Suddenly, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn shows up, much to the anger of Vince McMahon, and volunteers to be Austin's tag team partner for this match.

The Undertaker and Kane beat "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn. After the match, Kane and The Undertaker beat up Billy Gunn, then Austin hits Kane and The Undertaker with a steel chair. It is later revealed by commentary that Billy Gunn was not the legal man in the match when he was pinned.

We see a vignette for Steven Regal: a real man's man. Here, we see Regal shave with a blade in the middle of a forest while holding a mirror in his other hand.

Before the next match, Al Snow asks everyone what they like, need and love only to be attacked from behind by Sgt. Slaughter.

Al Snow beats Sgt. Slaughter in a Boot Camp Match to earn reinstatement into the World Wrestling Federation. After the match, Al Snow is attacked by Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco, and 2 Cold Scorpio runs into the ring and grabs a steel chair, making the save.

Val Venis tells everyone to stay tuned, as nobody would want to miss his latest video.

Michael Cole interviews "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, who tells WWF owner Vince McMahon that nobody dictates anything to him and that he has only accepted the Triple Threat Match for tonight because he knows that one day he will be the best damn WWF Champion there ever was. As for Mankind, he knows he has rubbed elbows with him, and says he can't beat him even on his best day. As for "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, he is proof that anybody can be tough. He plans to lay the smackdown on both Mankind and Shamrock tonight, and prove he is The People's Champ.

Dustin Runnels guests on commentary for the next match.

Before the next match, Val Venis says that some men like their cigars dipped in a little brandy, but President Bill Clinton, much like himself, likes his cigars dipped in a little French liquor, like "la whiskey."

Val Venis beats Owen Hart by disqualification after Dustin Runnels gets in the ring and attacks Venis. Venis turns the tables on him, ties him up in the ring rope, and tells him to turn the other cheek as he slaps him. He then tells Dustin he stuck his nose in his business, and he paid the price by having his wife reap the benefits. Since last week, he had a little bit of sympathy in his heart for him, but then he decided to attack him. Venis asks Dustin if he has ever witnessed his wife experience real orgasmic pleasures, then introduces him to his latest video: "Something About Terri." We then see video footage of Terri saying she has changed her mind about reconciling with Dustin as Venis is a much biger man than Dustin. Venis pulls his head out of the covers, saying "the little kitty-cat isn't under the covers," but that she should not worry as he will keep on looking. Venis then tells Dustin that he never did find that kitty-xat, but his "wife's vittles" were so tender. Dustin is distraught yet again.

X-Pac beats D'Lo Brown to become the WWF European Champion!

We see footage from during the break where Michael Cole interviews Mankind, who says that WWF owner Vince McMahon has gotten fired up. As for "The Rock" Rocky Maivia, on his best early-to-mid-afternoon, he could beat him on his worst late evening. As for "The World's Man Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, he doesn't know how to get out of any of his holds, but it takes a good man to beat him, even though it wouldn't take very long.

"The Rock" Rocky Maivia vs. Mankind vs. "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock in a Triple Threat Match to determine a #1 contender for the WWF Championship ends in chaos. During the match, WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up with Kane and The Undertaker, and The Undertaker drags Mankind out of the ring before he and Kane attack him, leaving The Rock and Shamrock as the only two men left in the match. When The Rock throws Shamrock out of the ring, The Undertaker and Kane then attack Shamrock before getting in the ring with The Rock. The numbers game quickly catches up to The Rock, who is quickly choke slammed by both men. As The Undertaker and Kane attack Mankind, "Stone old" Steve Austin sneaks up on Vince from behind and attacks him, and The Undertaker and Kane cannot get to him in time.

Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for September 20, 1998

Mankind beats a less-than-focused Dustin Runnels with the Mandible Claw with The Rock and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock at ringside in case Kane and The Undertaker show up. During the match, WWF owner Vince McMahon is seen talking to Kane and The Undertaker backstage. After the match, Dustin Runnels is still in the ring when Val Venis shows up. Venis says life must have gotten Dustin a little down recently, and says that his wife Terri Runnels has been down as well. Venis then says he is a kind and charitable man who likes to spread his good cheer wherever possible, and decides to raise Dustin's emotions to brand new heights by playing his latest video, How Terri Got Her Groove. In the film, Terri is seen in bed with Venis, who says he understands how tough it must be to see his wife in bed with another man, and that he can only thing that harder. Terri says it is "The Big Valbowski." Dustin is inconsolable, and Venis says that if anybody knows how hard "The Big Valbowski" is, it is his wife.

Backstage, Michael Cole interviews Kane and The Undertaker. The Undertaker asks why everyone feels it is necessary to anger him and Kane, and when Cole has no answer, The Undertaker says his business deal is just business. He says he has no love lost for WWF owner Vince McMahon, and if he were on fire, he would not pour scalding hot water on him. As far as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin goes, it is neither his nor Kane's fault that Vince is angered, and that he should be focused on their match for the WWF Championship so that the only thing Austin loses is the WWF title. When Cole says that their plan could be flawed with Mankind, The Rock and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock waiting for them, The Undertaker tells Cole he is starting to push his luck and says that as far as they go, they need to understand that if they get in his and Kane's way, they will be hurt badly. He says that they should think long and hard before sticking their noses in their business, for they take no prisoners and show no mercy. As for The Disciples of Apocalypse (Skull and 8-Ball), DOA stands for "dead on arrival," which is what happens with their careers when they get in the ring tonight, as they stand between them and something they want very badly. While the D.O.A. cannot be the first victims, they can be the next. Kane then takes the microphone and talks through his autolarynx, and tells Austin that his and The Undertaker's destiny will be Austin's demise. All of a sudden, Mankind rushes towards them, and The Rock and Shamrock join in on the assault. Vince McMahon tries to break the brawl up to no avail, and referees and officials have to pull everyone apart. The brawl ends with The Undertaker and Kane brandishing sledgehammers.

Backstage, WWF owner Vince McMahon tries to talk to Mankind, and tells him to leave along with The Rock and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock out of the arena for their collective protection.

Jacqueline beats Luna Vachon with a Figure Four Leg Lock. After the match, Sable tells Jacqueline to get back in the ring. Jacqueline returns and tells Sable she doesn't tell her what to do and that she has something for her that isn't a bikini or arm wrestling contest. Tomorrow night on Raw, she is challenging her to a wrestling match, and dares her to pin her if she is woman enough. Sable says pinning Jacqueline should be easy enough, since she gets nailed enough. She then accepts the challenge.

Mankind, The Rock and "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock are seen being escorted out of the arena.

Before the next match, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn tries to do "Road Dogg" Jesse James' part of the intro due to Road Dogg's throat issues, but he messes up and skips ahead to his usual part.

"Double J" Jeff Jarrett and The Nation (D'Lo Brown and Owen Hart) beat D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, X-Pac, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn). During the match, a few production botches involving a circular wipe to black, a Sunday Night Heat logo suddenly showing up, the "double feature" replay showing the exact same thing and a few color bar test patterns occur, much to the bemusement of the announce team. Later in the match, Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) brawl at ringside along with "Road Dogg" Jesse James, and Mark Canterbury hits X-Pac with a pump handle slam before D'Lo hits the Lo-Down for the win. After the match, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry attacks Triple H on the ramp.

When the next match featuring Edge is announced, the color test bar pattern appears again.

Cameras are seen inside the production truck with Al Snow messing with things. The production staff call security on Al Snow.

Edge quickly beats Taka Michinoku. During the match, head of WWF security Jim Dotson and two police officers are seen heading to the production truck. After the match, the rest of Kaientai (Sho Funaki, Men's Teioh, Dick Togo). Suddenly, Gangrel shows up and slams Yamaguchi-san, causing Kaientai to run. Gangrel then tells Edge that he will come home.

Al Snow is seen being handcuffed by local law enforcement in the production truck.

Al Snow is seen being led in handcuffs to the ring, where WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter waits for him. After Slaughter berates Snow and tells him that he is not wanted in the World Wrestling Federation. Al Snow then laughs because Head sneezed up his butt and he cannot stick a Tic-Tac up there. Slaughter says Snow needs discipline and that enough is enough, and if Snow wants to keep showing up, then he had better be at Raw tomorrow night, as he will challenge him to a Boot Camp Match. Snow wants to know what is in it for him and Head if they win, and Slaughter says that if they can somehow win, he will reinstate him. After he dismisses Snow, he then attacks Snow - who is still handcuffed - from behind and gets him in a Cobra Clutch. Head of WWF security Jim Dotson has to pull Slaughter off Snow. Slaughter then tells Snow to beware of the Cobra Clutch.

WWF owner Vince McMahon guests on commentary for the next match.

The Undertaker and Kane beat The Disciples of Apocalypse (Skull and 8-Ball).

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 14, 1998

RAW

The show starts with "Stone Cold" Steve Austin coming to the ring, and WWF owner Vince McMahon, The Undertaker and Kane are already there. An irate McMahon screams that he is tired of Austin carrying around his own custom WWF Championship, and after Break Down, he won't have to. Vince reiterates that he has introduced a master plan that would culminate in Austin losing the title, and that he has ordered a triple threat for the title between Austin, Kane and The Undertaker. However, Vince adds that there is a business arrangement, as he has granted The Undertaker and Kane a title shot, but will do something for him in exchange. Vince says he will never forgive or forget Austin, and while The Undertaker and Kane still have no love lost between each other, if they scratch his back, he scratches theirs, and by "scratching his back," he means "protect his back." Vince tells Austin that if he lays a hand on him, The Undertaker and Kane will annihilate him, even though that will happen to Austin at Break Down, anyway. Vince says he is able to guarantee Austin losing the title because of a new stipulation in the Triple Threat Match just a moment ago: The Undertaker is prohibited from defeating Kane in the match, and Kane cannot do the same to The Undertaker. Vince then spells it out: the match is a glorified 2-on-1 handicap match for the WWF Championship. Vince then tells Austin that since he does not want to do business and always wants to do it his way, Austin will remember one thing when he is defeated: "Stone Cold screwed Stone Cold." As he says this statement, Vince jabs his finger into Austin's chest repeatedly. As expected, Austin punches Vince, and The Undertaker and Kane gang up on Austin as promised. Austin is choke slammed by both The Undertaker and Kane, and Vince mocks Austin before leaving the ring. Before The Undertaker, Kane and Austin leave, The Undertaker tells Austin that it's nothing personal and just business. Vince then tells Austin that tonight, he will be defending the WWF Championship against "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin is seen backstage, and he is not in a good mood.

"Double J" Jeff Jarrett beats "Road Dog" Jesse James. During the match, Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) drag Road Dog out of the ring, which starts a brawl between them and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn and X-Pac. As referee Tim White is keeping Billy Gunn back at ringside, Jeff Jarrett is able to hit Road Dog in the throat with the neck of his guitar. Road Dog has to be helped to the back after the match by Billy Gunn and X-Pac.

"Road Dog" Jesse James is helped into an ambulance backstage after the attack on him by "Double J" Jeff Jarrett. Billy Gunn snaps on WWF Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter when Slaughter asks if Road Dog is okay.

"The Rock" Rocky Maivia has hatched up a game plan for Kane with the rest of The Nation (Owen Hart, D'Lo Brown, "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry), but as The Rock breaks it down for them, disagreement can be sensed within The Nation.

"The Rock" Rocky Maivia beats Kane. During the match, the referee is accidentally knocked down by The Rock's foot during a a Tombstone Piledriver attempt by Kane. After The Rock hits The People's Elbow, The Undertaker shows up and goes after The Rock. As Kane watches, Mankind - who has not been seen since SummerSlam - appears with a sledgehammer and smashes the hammer into Kane's back before running back to the back. The Undertaker chases Mankind to the back, and the referee is able to come to and give The Rock the pinfall. The Undertaker checks on Kane after the match, then grabs the microphone and tells Mankind that this has gone way too long and that it ends once and for tonight. He challenges Mankind to a match, and tells him to bring his sledgehammer.

Michael Cole interviews Mankind, who now has a visible bruise on his face and bandages on his left hand. Mankind says he used his left hand to block the sledgehammer, and says he is lucky that he did not look all that good to begin with. He accepts The Undertaker's challenge, for he has been working on scientific moves and is looking forward toa fair fight. He then smashes a steel drum with his sledgehammer.

Dustin Runnels is in the ring, where he welcomes everyone to Hell as the WWF is stained with vulgar language, aggression and sex. Runnels then tells Val Venis that he told him He is coming, and when He gets here, he will repent. Val Venis shows up, asks if he will repent because he works hard or because he plays hard. He then introduces him to his latest video entitled "The Preacher's Wife." We then see a short clip where Venis explains that he got back at Dustin for attacking him last on Sunday Night Heat by sleeping with Terri Runnels, aka Marlena. Dustin Runnels is aghast and breaks down, and Val Venis tells Dustin Runnels that getting on his knees must run int he family.

We see a vignette for Steven Regal: a man's man. Here, we see him cut a tree with an ax.

"Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley retains the WWF Intercontinental Championship against Owen Hart. During the match, Chyna hits "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry with a right hand after X-Pac tries to stop Henry from further confronting her, distracting Owen. After the match, Mark Henry tells X-Pac that if he wants to play with him, they can play tonight, and makes it a 2-on-1 handicap where Chyna will fight along X-Pac since he "looks like he is about a buck-five." Henry tells X-Pac and Chyna that he will prevail tonight.

Mankind is seen pushing a dumpster backstage while placing weapons inside of it.

WAR ZONE

Mankind brings a sledgehammer and ladder with him to the ring before the next match, and the dumpster that he pushed around backstage is already in front of the ring. When The Undertaker shows up, he brings a sledgehammer of his own as Kane accompanies him. Referee Tim White has to take Mankind's sledgehammer away from him as he tries to strike The Undertaker with it before the match can begin, but before The Undertaker can hit Mankind with his, Mankind gets the Mandible Claw in, starting the match.

The violent match between Mankind and The Undertaker ends in an no-contest. During the match, "The Rock" Rocky Maivia comes out of the dumpster and stops The Undertaker from hitting Mankind with a sledgehammer after a Tombstone Piledriver on the chair. After tossing Mankind into the crowd - and presumably out of harm's way - The Undertaker and Kane trail The Rock to the back, and the match ends.

Edge and Gangrel wrestle to a double count-out. Gangrel then tells a downed edge "My blood flows through your veins" and that "eternity is forever."

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry beats Chyna and X-Pac. X-Pac is asked to start the match at the recommendation of referee Jack Doan. Shortly after the start of the match, D'Lo Brown shows up to watch the match from ringside, and "Double J" Jeff Jarrett and Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) watch the match from the aisle. Later on, D'Lo Brown grabs at Chyna's foot as she tries to get into the match, and though X-Pac stops D'Lo with a drop kick, Mark Henry is able to recover and hit Chyna with a power slam as she comes down from the middle rope.

Michael Cole interviews "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock, who says it is about time that he gets a shot at the WWF Championship, as the WWF keeps putting opponents in front of him and he keeps defeating them. He tells "Stone Cold" Steve Austin that he is looking at the calm before the storm.

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock vs. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin for the WWF Championship ends when The Undertaker and Kane show up and attack both men. "The Rock" Rocky Maivia and Mankind rush in and fight The Undertaker and Kane, and WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up on the stage, confused as to what is going on. Austin gets back in the ring with a steel chair and hits The Undertaker and Kane in the back with it before chasing Vince to the back as the show ends.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 14, 1998

The show starts with a performance by The Nitro Girls.

Mike Tenay is at the downtown airport in Greenville, South Carolina, and as a white limousine pulling away from an airplane, it is reported that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair is returning to WCW for the first time in months. Tenay tries to interview the limo driver as well as one of the crew of the nearby plain, but to no avail.

Van Hammer vs. Alex Wright ends in a no-contest after Ernest "The Cat" Miller enters the ring after kicking Van Hammer in the back. After the match, The Cat brags once again that he is the baddest in the world and that there is not one person in the world who can beat him. WCW security and local police immediately arrest The Cat after this as Miller shouts "Somebody call my mama! I am the greatest!" The Cat is then escorted to and placed into the back of a squad car.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, who hobbles his way to the ring. Bret says that for the longest time, he has made a complete jackass out of himself, and that Hollywood Hogan is full of crap. He says Hogan ran from him and made promises to him, but he is scum, and what he and Stevie Ray did to him last night - which has now taken him out action for some time and cost him the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, which he says he never earned in the first place - has made it clear that when he comes back, he will come back stronger and make Hogan's life a living hell. Bret does not blame the fans for losing their respect for him as "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, and says he is not here to beg for forgiveness. Piper gets in the ring and tells Bret that he told everybody about how much of a jerk Bret was two weeks ago, and now that he hears him talking like this, he tells Bret that he is not the first to be conned by Hollywood Hogan, whom he calls "a piece of slime." He goes on to say that if Bret's dad were to hear him right now, he would be proud, as his father was a fighter and so is Bret. Piper tells Bret not to bury himself in his own pity, and to soar like the eagles and prove who he is and what he is made of, and to never let the fans down again. He says that the wrestling business is harsh, and if America can find it in their hearts to forgive President Bill Clinton, they can forgive Bret. After Piper leaves, Bret says he needs to see what happens next, but he asks for the fans to give him another chance.

Saturn beats Kendell Windham. After the match, Riggs, Sick Boy, Horace, Lodi and Kidman head to the ring while Raven - with Kanyon in tow - tells them from the crowd that their 24 hours of freedom are over and to re-join them. Saturn tells them that they are all free for good. Saturn tells Riggs he is a tag team champ and to do something with himself. He tells Horace to lose the stop sign and to get a pair of trunks and be a star. He asks Lodi how his neck is doing, he tells Sick Boy he is a hot young star in the making, and tells Kidman to win the Cruiserweight title. He then tells them all to leave, because they are free. Raven tells them to go back over the railing, but the Flock walks out on him and Kanyon. Saturn then tells Raven that it's "mind over matter" and that The Flock doesn't mind and that Raven doesn't matter. Lodi is noticed to still be hesitant about leaving Raven, but he leaves regardless.

Wrath beats The Renegade.

Eric Bischoff, Miss Elizabeth, The Disciple and Hollywood Hogan show up. Hogn says the two things that the nWo-ites cannot stand are cowards and sissies, and calls Bret "The Hit Man" Hart a sissy before telling him to sit on the porch with "Rowdy" Roddy Piper for they weren't in his league. He goes on to call The Warrior a coward who does not want to face him and who robbed him of his plan to take the World title back from Goldberg. Now Hogan says The Warrior is in his world, and that he will send him back to where no man ever came from. He tehn tells The Warrior that if he wants to get a piece of him and live forever, he can take his chance, because he challenges him to a match. When he wipes the paint off his face and defeats him, he will go after Goldberg and the World title. Suddenly, fog envelops the ring, and when it clears, The Disciple is gone, much to Hogan's shock and dismay.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

It is announced that Kaz Hayashi is injured tonight and will not be able to wrestle. Kidman will be taking his place in Hayashi's match.

Kidman, fresh out of Raven's Flock, beats Juventud Guerrera to win the WCW Cruiserweight Championship! Juventud Guerrera claps for Kidman and gives him kudos after the match, and Saturn shows up at ringside to give him a standing ovation.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund gets in an interview with WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon, who is dressed in a tuxedo and says that what is going on now is one of the most exciting moments he has witnessed in a long time. Dillon keeps the reason behind his closed-door meeting under wraps, wanting to keep Okerlund surprised too. Head of WCW Security denies Okerlund entry to this secret meeting.

We see Jackie Chan, who tells us to stay tuned to get a sneak peak at his new movie Rush Hour, opening this weekend in theaters.

Eddie Guerrero argues with Eric Bischoff backstage. Bischoff refuses to release Eddie Guerrero, and sends him on a tour with New Japan Pro Wrestling in Japan in retaliation.

The British Bulldog beats The Barbarian after knocking Jimmy Hart off the apron.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interview WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon. Dillon states that Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell's behavior from last night was unacceptable and an embarrassment to themselves. The Executive Committee has declared that Scott Steiner must face Rick Steiner again at Halloween Havoc. Suddenly, the lights go in and out, and laughter can be heard.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Don Portucci, Jr. from Buffalo, New York is the winner of this week's Nitro Party pack winner. We see some footage of his Nitro Party.

Fog envelops the ring before the next match, and The Warrior shows up. He has The Disciple next to him on his knees, and he is grabbing him by the back of his leather vest. nWo Hollywood shows up, and Warrior asks Hogan if he is missing something. He tells the rest of the black-and-white to stand their ground, and tells Hogan that they can live as either warriors or ordinary men, and that his actions as an ordinary man has only engraved the purpose of the One Warrior Nation revolution upon the minds of those warriors who will find the courage. Warrior then says a disciple who stands behind a mindless dictator cowers in fear at the face of a leader. As for Hogan's challenge at Halloween Havoc, he accepts, but tells Hogan to remember that the graveyard are full of cowardly, trembling, conquerable men. Fog envelops the ring again, but The Warrior has disappeared once more along with The Disciple.

Scott Steiner beats Silver King and Norman Smiley with a double Steiner Recliner. Buff Bagwell attacks Silver King and Norman Smiley after the match.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

The Giant beats Meng with the choke slam, which stops Meng from being able to reach him with the Tongan Death Grip.

Scott Hall comes to the ring tipsy before the next match, with Vincent carrying a bottle in a brown paper bag.

Eric Bischoff shows up during Scott Hall's match with Lex Luger, and tells Hall "I can't save you forever." He asks Hall to come with him to the back, and assures him that he is not fired. Kevin Nash and Konnan show up, and Nash tries to talk with Hall, who says that his life is falling apart. Hall takes another drink, then spits it into Bischoff. The match ends, and Bischoff calls for a commercial break.

WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon enters the ring, and asks "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson to come to the ring. Anderson shows upand Dillon says that he owes it to him and to the fans to say what he said to him privately. Dillon apologizes to what he has said to him in the past few weeks, and even though he meant well, he put him in a bad position and hopes that he can earn his forgiveness. Arn then takes the microphone and says that when 15,000 blow the roof off a place, that's what a pop smells like. He says that what Dillon said to is what the fans have been telling him for the last year-and-a-half, and that is to be the man that he has always been. He could hear those words,, as something was in the way. He starts at the beginning, as this is a new beginning for The Four Horsemen. When he has a boy, he always knew he wanted to be a professional wrestler, and when it happened, it was the greatest day of his life. When he started going across American in 1986, he did it as a Horsemen, and his life changed forever. He opened doors he never dreamed he would open, and everyone across the nation showed him who he was. Since then, he has upheld the standards that he and everyone else set for themselves. Last year, he woke up on an operating table, and Arn Anderson the wrestler was dead. He felt that he could not be a Horeseman if he could not be a wrestler, and when he felt that way, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit said it can still happen. He brings out Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Dean Malenko. Anderson tells Benoit that he got this rolling and if there is a finer wrestler than him, he doesn't know who it is. He says Benoit's intensity got his attention and that it will help him uphold the Horseman standard. He tells Mongo that he may be stubborn, but he is all-an and all-pro, and that he will mean to wrestling what he meant to football. As for Malenko, he calls Malenko a paragon of respect as and exemplified what a Horseman has always meant: over-achievement, and tells Malenko that he did get it after all. He then says that through the year 2000, The Horsemen will do what the fans have asked, but he feels it fair to state that he will not be responsible for what happens next as they are not nice guys and that heads will roll. He then says to be careful what you wish for, as you will get it. He then brings out "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who hasn't been seen since early in the year. Flair tears up at the immense positive reaction from the crowd and thanks them. He says he is almost embarrassed by the reaction, but when he looks back at the last 25 years, he says this is all worth it. He then says he heard that the Horsemen are having a party tonight, and that the most elite group that Eric Bischoff declared dead is alive and well. He tells Bischoff this may be his last shot, but he will make it his best. He then says that this moment makes for good television, as it was a real-life situation just like how Anderson passed the torch in Columbia, South Carolina. He goes on to say that Anderson is one of the greatest performers to ever live, and that Bischoff squashed him in one night and told him to disband the Horsemen for they are dead. When he looked in the mirror the next mirror, he saw a man who gave up and quit, and for that, he owes the fans and The Horsemen an apology, and says it won't happen again. Bischoff shows up, and Flair calls him "an obnoxious, overbearing asshole" who abuses his own power and dares him to cut him off. He calls Bischoff a liar, a cheat, a scam and "a no-good son-of-a-bitch" before daring Bischoff to fire him.

Diamond Dallas Page guests on commentary for the next match, and talks about the War Games match, saying that as soon as the opportunity arose in the match, he took it and earned his World Heavyweight title shot at Halloween Havoc. He also provides some insight on his upcoming match at Halloween Havoc against Goldberg.

Goldberg retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Sting after Hollywood Hogan kicks Sting in the back of the head during a Scorpion Death Lock attempt, out of the view of referee Billy Silverman. This allows Goldberg to hit the Spear and the Jackhammer on Sting, and disgusts Diamond Dallas Page to the point that he leaves commentary. Hogan immediately attacks Goldberg after the match ends, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart rushes into the ring and goes after Hogan. Goldberg, Bret and referee Billy Silverman check on Sting after the match, and Goldberg helps Sting up to end the show.

Fall Brawl 1998 - The Results

It is announced that Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and Diamond Dallas Page will start the War Games match, and that the other members will be drawn by team at random.

We see footage of Ernest "The Cat" Miller being separated from someone by WCW security.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund is talking about the event when Chris Jericho shows up and tells Okerlund he has a scoop for him: Goldberg called him on his cellphone, and Jericho challenged him to a match, which Goldberg accepted. Tonight, Jericho will be taking on Goldberg for the first time in a title vs. title match. Jericho says he will snap Goldberg's undefeated streak and become the first dual champion in WCW history.

The British Bulldog and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart beat The Dancin' Fools (Disco Inferno and Alex Wright). (During the match, The British Bulldog twice lands awkwardly on a trapdoor in the ring that The Warrior would use to mysteriously appear inside of the ring during the main event. Bulldog would suffer a spinal infection that would hospitalize him for six months and nearly paralyze him as a result. This also led to his firing from World Chamapionship Wrestling via FedEx (making this his last televised appearance in WCW), and also led to a morphine and painkillers addiction that would ultimately lead to his divorce from his wife Diana-Hart Smith and a stint in rehab in 2000.)

"Mean" Gene Okerlund says he has heard a rumor that Scott Steiner will not be able to face Rick Steiner tonight. Scott Steiner comes out of his private dressing room with Buff Bagwell, and announces that he is injured again as indicated by the bandages on his left bicep and the bag of ice on his back. Buff has a document signed by Dr. Cecil Schwartz indicating that Scott cannot wrestle. WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon shows up, reads the document, which he deems bogus before telling Scott that he has run out of excuses. Dillon tears the document up, saying that if he was not ready to face Rick, he would be barred from WCW for life, and Dr. Schwartz's document does not change this.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho comes out of his dressing room with his own pair of security guards. In a complete parody of Goldberg's entrace, the three of them have no idea where to go, but eventually make it. When Jericho's pyro hits, it comes out with a whimper rather than a bang, much to Jericho's frustration. When Goldberg comes out, there is no footage of him coming out with his own security, and the man who comes out looks nothing like Goldberg, complete with a toy replica WCW World Heavyweight Championship around his waist. The crowd is anot mused and chants "Bullshit!" during the beginning of the match, and even though the faker hits the Spear, he immediately taps to the Lion Tamer. Chris Jericho beats "Goldberg." After the match, Jericho shoves referee Scott Dickinson after grabbing him by the shirt and tears up "Goldberg's" replica title.

Rick Steiner answers questions for WCW.com, and says he will do what he has to do to teach his brother Scott Steiner a lesson tonight.

We see footage from earlier today of Mike Tenay interviewing Scott and Steve Armstrong. Ernest "The Cat" Miller interrupts before it can begin, saying that the Armstrong brothers aren't worth the time and that he is the greatest. As this occurs, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan can be seen standing through the window in the door behind Tenay. Scott tells them they are conducting an interview, and to show some class. The Cat pretends to leave before attacking both Armstrong brothers, and is then confronted by Norman Smiley. Both The Cat and Smiley have to be keep apart from one another by WCW security.

Before the next match, Ernest "The Cat" Miller tells Norman Smiley that he is a three-time world karate champion and to not touch him like he did again. He tells Smiley he can take a man apart in five seconds, but since Smiley is a brother like he is a brother, he will give five seconds to leave the ring, and if he turns around and sees him, he will eat him alive. Smiley doesn't leave, and he gets the first shot on The Cat as soon as he turns around.

Ernest "The Cat" Miller beats Norman Smiley.

Scott Steiner vs. Rick Steiner ends in no decision. During the match, Rick Steiner hits Buff Bagwell as Bagwell is on the apron in an interference attempt, and Bagwell lays motionless after that, feeling pain in his neck. Rick Steiner does not buy it and is convinced that Buff is faking it, but a stretcher is brought out and Bagwell is carefully placed on it. When Bagwell is placed in the ambulance and Scott Steiner follows him in, both Scott and Bagwell jump out of the ambulance and attack Rick Steiner, revealing it was all a set-up.

Juventud Guerrera retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Silver King.

Konnan answers questions for WCW.com, saying that he still has a lot of love for Scott Hall as he is going through his personal problems, but when he comes to the ring, he needs to leave them at the door. Scott Hall interrupts, and tells Konnan his personal problems are his business. As Konnan and Scott Hall argue, Hall tosses liquid into Konnan's face.

Before the next match, it is announced that Kanyon will be handcuffed at ringside. WCW Executive Committee and WCW security make sure to it that he is, and WCW Director of Security Doug Dellinger hands the key to the handcuffs to referee Mickey Jay. After Saturn shows up, Raven tells him that he has been an embarrassment for far too long, and that tonight is the beginning of eternal indentured servitude. Saturn tells Raven this is about honor, and that Raven has none. He tells Raven that it does not matter if he wins or loses, as he will always keep his integrity.

Saturn beats Raven. During the match, Raven's Flock shows up with a table, and when Kidman goes up top, instead of hitting the Seven Year Itch on Saturn, he hits Raven with a drop kick. Kidman runs away through the crowd while Raven's Flock chases after him. Also, Saturn locks in the Rings of Saturn for the first time in months before hitting Raven and Lodi with a low blow, followed by Raven whipping Saturn intot he corner, sandwiching referee Mickey Jay and allowing Kanyon to free himself from the handcuffs, hit Saturn with the Flatliner, place Raven on top of Saturn and cuff himself back to the turnbuckle before the ref comes to. Saturn still kicks out after all this, and hits Raven with a low blow. Lodi gets put through a table with a Death Valley Driver, and Saturn kicks out of an Evenflow DDT before hitting Raven with a Death Valley Driver to win it. As per pre-match stipulation, Saturn frees himself from potential eternal subservience to Raven's Flock, and Raven's Flock is disbanded forever.

It is announced that according to "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's wife Debra, Duggan has had a tumor the size of a football removed from his kidney, and that Duggan is heading home from the hospital tomorrow as he is now cancer-free.

Dean Malenko beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after interference by Rick Rude. As Rude and Hennig attack Malenko, "The Enrforcer" Arn Anderson rushes into the ring, but Hennig and Rude take him down and work on Arn's injured left arm.

Halloween Havoc comes live to pay-per-view on October 25th!

Before the next match, Scott Hall enters the wrong ring before doing the nWo survey. It becomes apparent that Scott Hall is drunk, especially after Vincent hands Hall a drink.

Konnan beats an inebriated Scott Hall - who keeps taking a few swigs during the match - with the Tequila Sunrise.

Team WCW (Diamond Dallas Page, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, The Warrior) beat nWo Hollywood (Hollywood Hogan, Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, Stevie Ray) and nWo Wolfpac (Kevin Nash, Sting, Lex Luger) in War Games, with Diamond Dallas Page getting a pinfall on Stevie Ray after a Diamond Cutter. Since Page made the pinfall, he gets a shot at the WCW World Heavyweight Championship at Halloween Havoc. During the match, Hollywood Hogan shows up early and lays everyone else out with a slapjack, then The Warrior shows up. Hogan attacks The Warrior, but the smoke comes out again and The Warrior vanishes despite Hogan holding his jacket. The Warrior rushes down the aisle and into the ring., and The Disciple helps Hollywood Hogan out of the cage. The Warrior manages to kick his way out of the cage and go after Hogan and The Disciple, and police officers and WCW security have to keep Warrior away from Hogan. DDP then hits Stevie Ray with a Diamond Cutter, and he gets the pinfall and the title shot.

Feel The Heat - Sunday Night Heat recap for September 13, 1998

"The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock beats Vader with the ankle lock after catching Vader out of the air with an arm bar before floating into the ankle lock. After the match, Shamrock says it is about that time for the WWF to let him speak his mind, as he has been in the company for a year and a half and he has had only one title shot. He says that he has defeated everybody that the WWF has put in front of him except for one man: "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. Shamrock challenges Austin to a match for the WWF Championship anywhere, any time, any place. Meanwhile, Austin is seen watching the show from the locker room backstage.

We see behind-the-scenes footage of Sable on the set of Pacific Blue. Sable tells Jacqueline that she is flattered that she is obsessed with her, but now it is starting to get old. She thought that after SummerSlam, Jacqueline and "Marvelous" Marc Mero would get the message, but they did not. She also says she could not help but notice how stunning Jacqueline looked in her evening gown, and she has a proposition for her: an Evening Gown Match where she strips Jacqueline of pride, dignity and anything else that will come off.

Before the next match, Val Venis says you can say all you want about Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa, but you can believe him when he says he has the most dangerous bat in the business.

Val Venis beats "Marvelous" Marc Mero by disqualification when Jacqueline jumps on top of him to put him in a sleeper hold only to be tossed off. During the very short match, Dustin Runnels is seen in the crowd carrying a sign saying "He's Coming Back." After the match, Michael Cole interviews Jacqueline and Mero. Jacqueline accepts Sable's challenge to an Evening Gown Match, and Mero guarantees Jacqueline will rip every piece of Sable's clothing off. After this, Dustin Runnels comes out of the crowd, strikes Venis from behind with his sign, and continues to attack him with a leather belt until referees stop him.

Gangrel beats Taka Michinoku.

We hear from "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, who tells X-Pac that he screwed with his boots and with hair, and tonight, he screws with X-Pac. He tells X-Pac to bring the rest of D-Generation X ("Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, "Road Dogg" Jesse James, "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) with him while he brings Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight), and while the saying goes "Don't piss me off," X-Pac is already there.

D'Lo Brown vs. Kane ends in an no-contest. During the match, The Undertaker throws "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry into D'Lo Brown while The Rock hits Kane with a steel chair to the back behind referee Tim White's back. After The Undertaker goes after The Rock, Kane gets up and nearly choke slams D'Lo Brown for the win. Henry gets back in the ring and attacks Kane from behind, but The Undertaker comes back and brawls with Henry. Mark Henry and D'Lo Brown both get choke slammed, with Henry getting choke slammed by both men, before D'Lo Brown falls victim to an assisted spike Tombstone Piledriver.

"Double J" Jeff Jarrett beats X-Pac in a Lumberjack Match. During the match, Southern Justice (Mark Canterbury and Dennis Knight) try to hit X-Pac with a guitar, but The New Age Outlaws ("Road Dogg" Jesse James and "Bad Ass" Billy Gunn) stop them, and Dennis Knight gets the guitar smashed on his head. X-Pac hits Jarrett with the X-Factor as the lumberjacks brawl, but Mark Canterbury gets in the ring as referee Mike Chioda is dealing with the ringside brawling to hit X-Pac with a pump handle powerslam. Jarrett then rolls X-Pac up in a jackknife pin to get the win.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up. Austin says that at SummerSlam, he beat The Undertaker fair and square in the center of the ring, and he gives The Undertaker credit for not lying to him when he said he wanted to face him one-on-one. After he talked about how tough he thought The Undertaker was and how he respected his ability, WWF owner Vince McMahon shows up and made it look like he was kissing The Undertaker's ass, which was the last thing he was doing. Austin says that The Undertaker and Kane will not get "Mr. Nice Guy" from him anymore, as he will not give Vince the satisfaction of seeing somebody in the back taking the WWF Championship from him. As far as "The World's Most Dangerous Man" Ken Shamrock's challenge goes, he respects Shamrock's ability, but this is the WWF and not the UFC, and if he wants a title shot, all he has to do is come to the ring so he can beat his ass in front of the world. Shamrock shows up, but referees show up before both men can go at it. As Austin demands the bell be rung, Vince shows up with Pat Patterson, Gerald Brisco and Sgt. Slaughter, and Austin tells Vince to ring the bell so they can have the match despite the show coming to an end.
