Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for December 13, 1999

The show begins with Jeff Jarrett attacking "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit backstage. Benoit gets the upper hand, however, and hocks loogies out of his nose at him in typical Benoit fashion.

Before the next match, The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea says "Hello," then The Maestro is both seen and heard playing piano on a platform being lowered from the sky as bubbles blow around him while he has Symphony by his side.

The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea beats The Maestro after Symphony slaps Iaukea, Iaukea's valet Paisley slaps The Maestro, and Iaukea rolls The Maestro up and grabs the tights. After the match, Jeff Jarrett shows up with two guitars. One of them goes into Iaukea's head; the other one goes into The Maestro's. Jarrett then tells "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit if he wants to step into the same ring as "The Chosen One," he will get his wish. He then challenges him to a Bunkhouse Brawl as part of a tune-up match for Starrcade. He then tells Benoit to bring and wear anything, and that he will make an example out of him.

Kevin Nash is seen waiting on Scott Hall backstage.

Evan Karagias is seen talking to Spice. Madusa catches him, then finds Madusa and tries to attack her out of jealousy and rage. Referees have to step in and stop everything.

Bret "The Hit Man" Hart shows up. Bret says it is not easy being the guy who talks about being the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be, and that you have to look into your heart and believe it. He thanks the fans for backing him up. Ever since he came to WCW, he always knew that sooner or later, he would have to step into the ring with Goldberg. He has infinite respect for him and has watched him over and over, and in order to be World champion, he would have to give Goldberg the very first shot at Starrcade. At Starrcade, he will be the first one looking forward to Goldberg, as he has something to prove. He then tells Goldberg he is a great wrestler, but when the smoke settles at Starrcade, he will not beat him. He then makes one guarantee: at Starrcade, he will be standing with his hand raised in the middle of the ring. Suddenly, Goldberg shows up and tells Bret that unfortunately for him, matches are not won by confidence level, but by beating one's opponents. As of late, the World title looks good around Bret's waist, but at Starrcade, he must beat him man to man, and that is not going to happen. Not only will he never beat him, he is next. Suddenly, The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) show up. Hall says they have been talking, and Bret and Golberg have something that belongs to them, as everyone knows that they are "it" because when you mess with The Outsiders, you mess with the "shhhhhh bomb." Nash tells Bret and Goldberg they have something that belongs to them: the tag team titles. If they can find it in their hearts to kiss and make up tonight, then they can put the tag team titles on the light tonight so they can walk out tonight the champs. Also, if they don't want to do it, they can do it the hard way. Bret says that if they want it, they've got it.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Madusa and looks at her breasts. She says Spice had no business talking to Evan, and she is going to wrestle her tonight.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is seen entering the arena.

Backstage, The Total Package finds out from Terry Taylor that he is in a tag team match against Diamond Dallas Page and Sting, and that his partner is David Flair.

A man delivers a package to David Flair. Flair scares the man away, then takes the package.

Spice beats Madusa. During the match, Evan Karagias gets in the ring, and when Karagias refuses to hit Spice, she confronts him directly. Spice elbows Madusa from behind and gets the pinfall to get the win. She then runs away. After the match, Madusa beats Evan karagias up.

Vince Russo asks if Curt Hennig is ready for his match, then asks Shane if the remote control is ready for the segment. Rhonda Sing comes into the office ready for her next assignment, but Russo tells her to get an agent or else they will have nothing to talk about. Russo then asks Shane to go get "Rowdy" Roddy Piper.

We see a short video package for The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya) and their feud with "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan. Duggan is not worried about what is going to happen at Starrcade. He has come to the ring for many years, but lately, there has been a few things happening that he has a tough time swallowing. It is not the cleaning of toilets, as he has done it before and he will do it again, but a lack of respect for America. When he came back to WCW after his cancer treatment, he got on his knees in the middle of the ring and thanked the Lord for sparing his life and allowing him to grow older with his family. However, if he has to get off his deathbed, he will defend the flag of the United States of America as long as there is air in his lungs and blood in his heart, and he will not quit, waver or stop as he attacks, regardless of how many men are out there. When he thinks of the members of the armed forces who made the sacrifice for their country, he stands a little taller, and he tells The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya) that he and the people of the United States will take it no longer, as this is the land of the free and the home of the free. Suddenly, the lights go dark and static appears on the video screen. Suddenly, someone gets in the ring and lays Duggan out, then the lights come back on.

Vince Russo laughs about what happened to "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, then "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is brought into the office. Up next, he will referee a match between Curt Hennig and Buff Bagwell where he has the final say, meaning his decision is final. Russo tells him to consider this a test, and tells him it would be good for his career to do the right thing. If he can do that, there will be no problems.

Backstage, The Total Package looks for David Flair.

Before the next match, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper tells Curt Hennig and Buff Bagwell that he will do the right thing, that there will be no disqualifications, that he wants a winner and a loser, and that he will get on the case of either man if they screw up in this match.

Buff Bagwell beats Curt Hennig. During the match, Buzzkill is seen in the crowd carrying a sign saying "Save The Baby Seals." Also during the match, special guest referee "Rowdy" Roddy Piper punches out Curt Hennig, giving Buff Bagwell with a fast count. Creative Control (Patrick and Gerald) are seen on the stage after the match.

The Total Package knocks on the door of David Flair's dressing room, and notices David Flair acting strangely.

Jeff Jarrett beats "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit in a Bunkhouse Brawl. During the match, Dustin Rhodes shows up, and refere Charles Robinson gests in his way. He is about to go for the Shattered Dreams when Jeff Jarrett smashes a guitar into his head. As he does this, Rhodes kicks him in the gut, and they both go down at the same time. Benoit then climbs up the ladder, and Jarrett pushes Rhodes into the ladder, knocking Benoit off the top. After ramming Rhodes' head into the ladder, he goes for the pinfall and get the win.

The Total Pakage is seen talking to David Flair backstage, who is seen giggling and huggng a headless teddy bear. David Flair is not listening to The Total Package at all.

A white Porsche Roadster speeds into the arena parking lot.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper is in Vince Russo's office with a baseball bat in his hands. Russo tells Piper he hates him, and Piper says he hates him, too. Russo says this is not his night, and he will never work in WCW again. La Parka is about to hit Piper with the chair, but he sees it coming and blocks it with the baseball bat before swinging it at everybdoy and threatening to beat Russo to death with thebat. Curt Hennig hits Piper from behind with a steel chair.

Tank Abbott and Meng wrestle to a double count-out. Both men continue to go at it even after the match is over, and they both brawl their way to the back.

Chris Kanyon comes out of the white Porsche Roadster, and is immediately joined by two women. Another man leaves the vehicle with him, and that man is none other than Clarence Mason, who has not been seen since leaving the WWF a few years ago.

"Rowdy" Roddy Piper tries to get into Vince Russo's office, but he is stopped by local law enforcement. Meanwhile, Tank Abbott and Meng are still fighting backstage.

Before the next match, Shane Douglas says that he can talk his points and that America is wrong and cannot face facts. He tells "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan go on and talk about his kids, and at Starrcade, he is divided and he and America will lose as they Americans are divided. On Sunday, The Revolution (Shane Douglas, Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya) will be victorious. Dean Malenko says the truth is a hard pill to swallow, and tells them to swallow the fact that America sucks. We then find out that The Revolution has Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) tonight when Perry Saturn acts as comedy relief. Shortly after the match begins, however, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Midnight is in the ring. She attacks Malenko and Saturn as Douglas guests on commentary.

The Revolution (Dean Malenko, Perry Saturn, Asya) beats Harlem Heat (Booker T, Stevie Ray, Midnight) when Midnight inadvertently sends Saturn into Booker T and accidentally lands on her knee.

Mike Tenay interviews The Total Package and David Flair. Flair goes off on Tenay, screaming "I told you not to touch him! Don't touch him!" before leaving. The Total Package announces that junctions have been filed, and Miss Elizabeth will only work for him. He says that Sting is on his own. "Rowdy" Roddy Piper is seen swinging a chair around. He challenges Curt Hennig to get into the ring so they can swing steel chairs until they can't do it anymore.

Rhonda Sing tires to get "Clarence Mason" to be her agent, but he only represents the best that Hollywood has to offer. Chavo Guerrero Jr. then tries to sell her a wardrobe.

Meng and Tank Abbott are still brawling backstage.

Backstage, "Wonderful" Paul Orndorff shows up. He says that the powers that be want to talk to him, and gets directions to their office.

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls. All of a sudden, Rhonda Sing shows up in the ring and tries to dance while wearing the outfit that Chavo Guerrero Jr. was selling her. She attacks the other Nitro Girls while she dances, but the Nitro Girls cannot even take her down.

Fit Finley continues to train Brian Knobbs in the wilderness.

"Screamin'" Norman Smiley walks into the block and faces Jerry Flynn in "The Block." Meng and Tank Abbott brawl their way into The Block. Jerry Flynn and Tank Abbott go at it as Meng chases Norman Smiley out the door.

Vince Russo talks with "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, and chews him out for training Midnight - who has become a thorn in his side - before firing him. Orndorff tells Russo to kiss his ass, saying he's been in the business for 23 years and has done it all and taking offense to being fired for doing his job. Vince Russo puts Onrdorff in the ring for a match.

Backstage, Goldberg is seen watching the show on a monitor.

Mike Tenay interviews Sid Vicious, who is seen with his own coach: a man with Down Syndrome named Seth, who says Sid is his favorite wrestler. Sid says it is obvious that "Dr. Death" Steve Williams would be an example for Kevin Nash to think about.

Before the next match, Oklahoma tells the New Orleans, Louisiana fans that only only is his dick and nut from Oklahoma, but he also wears women's dresses. He says the powers that be have granted him a request, and that the next match will be a "Suplex vs. Powerbomb Match." Oklahoma then guests on commentary as Seth accompanies Sid to the ring.

Sid Vicious beats "Dr. Death" Steve Williams in a Suplex vs. Powerbomb Match. During the match, Oklahoma hands Dr. Death his boot to use as a weapon, which referee Nick Patrick does not see. Vampiro then shows up and chases Oklahoma around the ring only to be clotheslined by Dr. Death. Shortly afterwards, Sid hits the powerbomb for the win. After the match, Oklahoma gets choke slammed by Sid, then The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) get in the ring and beat up Sid. Nash then hits Sid with the Jackknife Powerbomb.

Sid is checked out by medical staff backstage.

Mike Tenay interviews The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). Hall says Sid was talking tash, and he paid for it. Nash says the attack on Sid Vicious is a little preview of what will happen at Starrcade, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart and Goldberg are next.

Diamond Dallas Page and Sting beat The Total Package and David Flair in a no-disqualification match. During the match, Sting and Diamond Dallas Page go at each other after Sting tags him in only to punch him. The Total Package sues the headless stuffed animal to lure David Flair back to his corner so David can tag him in. After this, Luger tosses the stuffed animal out of the ring, then grabs the crowbar and smashes it into Sting. Miss Elizabeth then shows up and yanks the crowbar away as soon as The Total Package rears back with it. He then leaves the ring and comes back with a steel chair, but Miss Elizabeth shields Sting. David Flair crawls back into the ring with a crowbar and smashes it into The Total Package's back. Miss Elizabeth then puts Sting's arm on top of The Total Package to give him and Diamond Dallas Page the win.

Meng is looking for "Screamin'" Norman Smiley backstage.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Chris Kanyon, who prefers to be named Chris "Champagne" Kanyon, or as his friends call him, "CCK." He asks Okerlund's people to call his people, then Rhonda Sing shows up wanting "Clarence Mason" to sign her, but "Clarence" calls for security to get her away from him. Bam Bam Bigelow then shows up, and when "Clarence" getrs in his way, Bam Bam grabs him only to be attacked from behind by Kanyon, who says "You ain't nothin'! Triad that!"

Before the next match, Bam Bam Bigelow says he doesn't know who Chris "Champagne" Kanyon is or what happened to him since he went to Hollywood that changed him, but he is from New Jersey and he does not sell out. He says it used to be three guys from Jersey, but it apparently was not good enough for Kanyon. He says that hopefully, the ass whupping he is about to give him will be, and calls Kanyon out. Kanyon shows up with his entourage, then "Clarence Mason" says that he is Kanyon's legal advisor. Bam Bam Bigelow does not want anything from him, and headbutts Kanyon, starting their match.

Chris "Champagne" Kanyon beats Bam Bam Bigelow. The Flatliner is now known as "That's A Wrap," and we find out that "Clarence Mason" is now known as J. Biggs.

Before the next match, Kevin Nash says it looks like Bret "The Hit Man" Hart will not make it tonight due to some sort of injury in the back. Since he and Scott Hall have done Goldberg a favor tonight and made him easy pickings for Starrcade, he calls out Goldberg and demands he hands them the tag team titles so they can be tag champs again. Goldberg, having seen this on the monitor, takes the tag team titles with him to the ring, then drops the titles at The Outsiders' (Hall and Nash) feet, starting what ends up becoming a 2-on-1 handicap match for the WCW World Tag Team Championships.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for November 29, 1999

In memory of Hiro Matsuda, 1937 - 1999.

Goldberg shows up. He knows that The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) are in the back hearing what he has to say, and asks if he is the kind of guy to mess around with. He says he is not, but week after week, they show up and try to entertain the people with a little bit of comedy. He says that will not happen tonight. Last time they met, he got hit in the back with a steel chair and admits that he liked it. He is in the ring tonight to put a stop to their childish games, for when he steps into the ring, this is his world and he does not play around. He does not make threats, he is just the bearer of a little bit of reality as to what is going to happen. He then tells Scott Hall that if he gets involved in his match with Kevin Nash, he will show him what a little bit of heavy metal is all about. As for Kevin Nash, he's next. The Outsiders then show up, and Hall tells Goldberg he sounds upset and serious tonight, and they are here to bring that comedy he was referring to. He admits than wrapping a steel chair around Goldberg's head was one of the funniest things he has ever seen. Nash tells Goldberg The Outsiders have five words for him: don't sing it, bring it. Goldberg dares them to get in the ring, but as The Outsiders approach Goldberg, Sid Vicious shows up and says it will not be that simple as there is a new babyface in his town and his name is Sid Vicious. Sid and Goldberg fight The Outsiders side-by-side until security gets in the ring to break it up. Hall gets knocked out of the ring by Sid, while Nash gets out of the ring.

A mud ring is seen near the entrance ramp, and it is announced that a match involving The Nitro Girls is involved.

He says he was hand-picked to win the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and tonight, he gets one step closer to doing that. Tenay responds with "I hope so, because you've fallen out of favor with the powers that be." Jarrett responds by blasting him in the head with a guitar.

Brian Knobbs shows up. He says that what makes him stick to his stomach is the fat that he lost to "a woman" at Mayhem for the WCW Hardcore Championship. He says it is far from over as he is a hardcore solder of war. He says "Screamin'" Norman Smiley is in the back, and if he has any guts, he will face him in the ring. Smiley is in the back, and he does not have his gear. Fit Finley shows up with a bag around his shoulder, and he scares Norman Smiley to the point that he screams and hides underneath the table. Finely pulls out from the bag two Kendo sticks, tosses one to Knobbs, tosses away the other one, and still manages to make quick work of Knobbs. He then pulls out a piar of scissors and cuts off the back of Knobbs' hair. He then whacks Knobbs in the back with a kendo stick again, then says to the camera "He wants to be a soldier? Now he looks like a soldier!"

He also tries to sell his Amway goods - a set of fine china for $39.99 - before interviewing Oklahoma and "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Oklahoma says Jerry Only should understand that running his mouth got him in a steel cage, and that none of his buddies can help him. Williams says it will be a slobberknocker.

He says The Revolution worked them from the inside, as The Filthy Animals never knew what hit them, and they nearly set the world on fire. What pissed them off, however, is that they cheered for Bret "The Hit Man" Hart for winning American gold, then booed them. Malenko says he was in the ring with "The Canadian Crippler" Chris Benoit last week, and when he won, the fans booed him despite being American-made and born. Love it or leave it, The Revolution will leave it and declare themselves a sovereign nation upon themselves and do away with America. Tonight, he will be called "The Python." Shane Douglas will be "THe Rattler," Asya "The Boa." Saturn says he will be known as "The Trouser," (which he calls "the most sought after snake in the world") then says that if the fans want a revolution, they've got it. Tonight, they will start making that sad song better. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan then shows up and says he's got their snake right here, then stands up for America by stating he will shove his 2x4 where the sun doesn't shine. He then fights off The Revolution with his 2x4. Asya hits Duggan, but this causes Duggan to drop his 2x4 when the rest of The Revolution take advantage of the situation. He says the opportunity is there for any mean to meet him in the ring.

Piper tells Bret not to bury himself in his own pity, and to soar like the eagles and prove who he is and what he is made of, and to never let the fans down again. He says that the wrestling business is harsh, and if America can find it in their hearts to forgive President Bill Clinton, they can forgive Bret. After Piper leaves, Bret says he needs to see what happens next, but he asks for the fans to give him another chance.

Warrior then says a disciple who stands behind a mindless dictator cowers in fear at the face of a leader. As for Hogan's challenge at Halloween Havoc, he accepts, but tells Hogan to remember that the graveyard are full of cowardly, trembling, conquerable men. Fog envelops the ring again, but The Warrior has disappeared once more along with The Disciple.

Scott Steiner beats Silver King and Norman Smiley with a double Steiner Recliner. Buff Bagwell attacks Silver King and Norman Smiley after the match.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the third hour.

The Giant beats Meng with the choke slam, which stops Meng from being able to reach him with the Tongan Death Grip.

Scott Hall comes to the ring tipsy before the next match, with Vincent carrying a bottle in a brown paper bag.

Eric Bischoff shows up during Scott Hall's match with Lex Luger, and tells Hall "I can't save you forever." He asks Hall to come with him to the back, and assures him that he is not fired. Kevin Nash and Konnan show up, and Nash tries to talk with Hall, who says that his life is falling apart. Hall takes another drink, then spits it into Bischoff. The match ends, and Bischoff calls for a commercial break.

WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon enters the ring, and asks "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson to come to the ring. Anderson shows upand Dillon says that he owes it to him and to the fans to say what he said to him privately. Dillon apologizes to what he has said to him in the past few weeks, and even though he meant well, he put him in a bad position and hopes that he can earn his forgiveness. Arn then takes the microphone and says that when 15,000 blow the roof off a place, that's what a pop smells like. He says that what Dillon said to is what the fans have been telling him for the last year-and-a-half, and that is to be the man that he has always been. He could hear those words,, as something was in the way. He starts at the beginning, as this is a new beginning for The Four Horsemen. When he has a boy, he always knew he wanted to be a professional wrestler, and when it happened, it was the greatest day of his life. When he started going across American in 1986, he did it as a Horsemen, and his life changed forever. He opened doors he never dreamed he would open, and everyone across the nation showed him who he was. Since then, he has upheld the standards that he and everyone else set for themselves. Last year, he woke up on an operating table, and Arn Anderson the wrestler was dead. He felt that he could not be a Horeseman if he could not be a wrestler, and when he felt that way, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit said it can still happen. He brings out Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Dean Malenko. Anderson tells Benoit that he got this rolling and if there is a finer wrestler than him, he doesn't know who it is. He says Benoit's intensity got his attention and that it will help him uphold the Horseman standard. He tells Mongo that he may be stubborn, but he is all-an and all-pro, and that he will mean to wrestling what he meant to football. As for Malenko, he calls Malenko a paragon of respect as and exemplified what a Horseman has always meant: over-achievement, and tells Malenko that he did get it after all. He then says that through the year 2000, The Horsemen will do what the fans have asked, but he feels it fair to state that he will not be responsible for what happens next as they are not nice guys and that heads will roll. He then says to be careful what you wish for, as you will get it. He then brings out "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, who hasn't been seen since early in the year. Flair tears up at the immense positive reaction from the crowd and thanks them. He says he is almost embarrassed by the reaction, but when he looks back at the last 25 years, he says this is all worth it. He then says he heard that the Horsemen are having a party tonight, and that the most elite group that Eric Bischoff declared dead is alive and well. He tells Bischoff this may be his last shot, but he will make it his best. He then says that this moment makes for good television, as it was a real-life situation just like how Anderson passed the torch in Columbia, South Carolina. He goes on to say that Anderson is one of the greatest performers to ever live, and that Bischoff squashed him in one night and told him to disband the Horsemen for they are dead. When he looked in the mirror the next mirror, he saw a man who gave up and quit, and for that, he owes the fans and The Horsemen an apology, and says it won't happen again. Bischoff shows up, and Flair calls him "an obnoxious, overbearing asshole" who abuses his own power and dares him to cut him off. He calls Bischoff a liar, a cheat, a scam and "a no-good son-of-a-bitch" before daring Bischoff to fire him.

Diamond Dallas Page guests on commentary for the next match, and talks about the War Games match, saying that as soon as the opportunity arose in the match, he took it and earned his World Heavyweight title shot at Halloween Havoc. He also provides some insight on his upcoming match at Halloween Havoc against Goldberg.

Goldberg retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Sting after Hollywood Hogan kicks Sting in the back of the head during a Scorpion Death Lock attempt, out of the view of referee Billy Silverman. This allows Goldberg to hit the Spear and the Jackhammer on Sting, and disgusts Diamond Dallas Page to the point that he leaves commentary. Hogan immediately attacks Goldberg after the match ends, and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart rushes into the ring and goes after Hogan. Goldberg, Bret and referee Billy Silverman check on Sting after the match, and Goldberg helps Sting up to end the show.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for August 10, 1998

After the match, Hacksaw is about to toss Jimmy Hart off the top rope when Hugh Morrus shows up and attacks him. Head of WCW security Doug Dellinger also gets the Tongan Death Grip when he tries to break it up, as do Hacksaw and a few other members of security when they all try to calm him down.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Lex Luger. Luger says that he is not one to mince words, and says two guys were involved in what happened to him last week. He's already gotten a piece of Scott Hall, and then reveals that the other man involved was who he should have suspected long ago: Bret "The Hit Man" Hart. Luger says he is not leaving until he gets a match with Bret tonight. Bret shows up, calling Luger "a damn liar" as he was nowhere near him when he was attacked, and that he made it all up because he's not good enough to be United States champ. He says that Luger is jealous that he is United States champ, has a working relationship with Hollywood Hogan and that Sting is like a brother to him. Luger says that Bret has nothing he wants except the United States title, and tells Bret to either put the title on the line or have his teeth knocked out right now. Bret accepts Luger's challenge.

Before the next match, Alex Wright chews Tokyo Magnum out, telling him that he has been a disappointment to them and should committee harikiri. Disco Inferno tells him to shape up or ship out if he wants to continue worshiping him, and tells him that he is on his own as his opponent is Eddie Guerrero.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Hollywood Hogan, The Disciple and Eric Bischoff show up. "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko almost breaks protocol on the Road Wild main event results being verboten. Hogan announces that the wrestling world is in a whole lot of trouble, as Jay Leno is on the shelf and Diamond Dallas Page is about to be swept under the carpet, as nWo Hollywood is back on track and the nWo-ites have been asking about the World title. Hogan then puts WCW and Goldberg on notice, and says the clock is ticking as he has beaten everyone and nobody has beaten him as he demands a World title shot. He tells WCW to bring him Goldberg on a silver platter so that WCW won't have any embarrassments and that he can take the World title back. Hogan then allows Bischoff to give the fans a "public service announcement:" since Meng has decimated WCW security, he and Hogan will provide nWo Hollywood security for the match between Meng and Goldberg tonight so that nothing bad happens to the fans and it can be a fair match.

It is announced that nWo Wolfpac have a response to nWo Hollywood, stating that they will be out in full force during the Meng vs. Goldberg match later tonight.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho shows up with Pepe and tells him he has found him. When Chavo tries to take Pepe back, Chris Jericho lures him backstage so he can beat him up. Jericho shows up and de-constructs Pepe before getting in the ring, replacing Chavo in the match, and tells Stevie Ray that since Chavo is "busy in the back with Pepe" and that he grew up on "the mean streets of Calgary, Alberta, Canada," he'll be glad to take him on. Stevie Ray tells Jericho he didn't come to see him run his mouth, and if Jericho wants a shot at the World Television Championship, they can get it on.

Chris Jericho beats Stevie Ray to become the WCW World Television Champion! During the match, Chris Jericho kicks referee Mark Curtis in the groin as he has Stevie Ray in the corner, allowing The Giant to rush in and headbutt Stevie Ray before hitting him with the choke slam. Jericho wakes up Anderson, then locks the Lion Tamer in on Stevie Ray, who is knocked out, and wins the title.

Eric Bischoff and Miss Elizabeth show up. Bischoff says that as assistant to the president of the company, Elizabeth should understand how it is to make tough executive decisions on a daily basis. He mentions the "gag order" that covers the main event of Road Wild, and says he will violate that order as the fans have the right to see the events of that match. As expected, Bischoff insists he and Hogan beating Diamond Dallas Page and Jay Leno last night, and tells everyone not to watch The Tonight Show, as Leno is a liar and a thief and that any footage he has will be doctored. It is then realized by the commentary team that they were had all along, as the WCW executive in question was Bischoff the whole time.

Rey Mysterio, Jr. beats Lizmark Jr. and Psychosis in a Triple Threat match despite the damage to his left leg.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Lex Luger beats Bret "The Hit Man" Hart to become the WCW United States Heavyweight Champion! During the match, Lex Luger has Bret in a sleeper when Bret pushes Luger into referee Charles Robinson. bret pulls out a foreign object, but Luger dodges it and puts Bret in the Torture Rack to win the match and the title. Before the next match, Raven says that the Flock has let him down, after they failed to show up for Road Wild. Raven hits Riggs with an Evenflow DDT, calls Lodi "worthless," and slaps Horace for costing him the match before attacking him.

Horace beats Raven. During the match, Kanyon shows up and is confronted by the entire Flock. This allows Saturn to come out through the crowd, hit Raven with a Death Valley Driver into the stop sign, and place Horace on top of Raven.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Curt Hennig beats Konnan by disqualification. During the match, Hennig pulls out a chain and wraps it around his fist to hit Konnan. Referee Billy Silverman stops the punch, but the chain flies off and Konnan grabs the chain to choke Hennig from behind with it. The referee sees the chain and disqualifies Konnan.

Sting and Kevin Nash beat Scott Hall and The Giant by disqualification after The Giant choke slams the referee. Scott Hall and The Giant retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships.

nWo Hollywood and nWo Wolfpac show up and head to ringside for the next match.

Goldberg retains the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Meng, after Meng lets go of the Tongan Death Grip thinking he has won. Goldberg is attacked by nWo Hollywood, but it has no effect on his ability to win. After the match, Hollywood Hogan hits Goldberg in the back with a steel chair, and Kevin Nash wrestles the chair away from Hogan, who then rolls out of the ring. When Goldberg gets back up from the chair shot, he believes that Kevin Nash hit him with the chair, and breaks him in half with a Spear to end the show.

Thunderstruck - Thunder recap for January 8, 1998

"Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff show up. Bischoff says there is nothing wrong with the nWo and that Hogan will get the World title back, and Hogan says that as he was laying out on Daytona Beach, all the women in the bikinis told him he was the man and that he beat Sting for the three count. Hogan says we will see the video proof that he is still WCW World Heavyweight Champion, as he is the only world heavyweight champion in the world and that this is the way it was, is and always will be. Hogan then says he likes all the "crybaby tears" painted on all the Sting masks, as Sting will never beat the man who made wrestling and gave everybody someone to believe in.

This week on WCW Saturday Night: Diamond Dallas Page! Glacier! Booker T! Chris Jericho and many others!

Mike Tenay interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon at ringside. J.J. Dillon mentions the statement from Nick Lambros last week about holding people accountable for their actions, and that he observed Lex Luger running into the ring and striking "Macho Man" Randy Savage in the head with a steel chair in Savage's match with "Gentleman" Chris Adams. He reverses the decision of the previous match, announcing that Savage is the winner of the previous match by reverse decision. Lex Luger shows up and mentions how WCW has been trashed for the last year and a half by the nWo, questions Dillon being a man of action now and says he and the people are sick and tired. If Dillon wants to take action with him, that is fine, but he is tired of decisions favoring the nWo and says it is time for WCW to take matters into their own hands. He has talked to Diamond Dallas Page, The Giant, Sting and every other wrestler in WCW, and Dillon can do what he has to do while WCW does what they want. He also asks where WCW was during recent events where he had been horribly attacked, then says he and every other wrestler in WCW are going to do what they have to do. Luger leaves, then Dillon says he is just trying to do his job, and his decision stands.

Rick Martel beats Louie Spicolli with the Quebec Crab. During the match, Raven, Billy Kidman, Lodi, Van Hammer and Scotty Riggs show up and take their seats in the front row.

Mike Tenay guests on commentary for the next match.

Hiroyoshi Tenzan beats Michiyoshi Ohara.

Before the next match, Chris Jericho says he stands before the fans an embarrassed, ashamed and changed man. Jericho says that his behavior over the last few weeks has been atrocious, and that the real Chris Jericho is not the sniveling, whiny baby that the people have been watching every week; instead, it is the man everyone places on a pedestal, watches on TV every week and views as a role model. He apologizes to ring announcer David Penzer and presents him a suit jacket, then apologizes to the fans before saying this will never, ever again.

"The Nature Boy" Ric Flair beats Chris Jericho with the Figure Four Leg Lock. After the match, Chris Jericho has another temper tantrum, tearing ring announcer David Penzer's suit jacket in the process.

The Giant beats Meng. During the match, it is announced that "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair vs. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart is official for Souled Out, as is The Giant vs. Kevin Nash.

Bill Goldberg beats Steve "Mongo" McMichael.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Buff Bagwell and Konnan. Just like on Nitro, Scott wins it without the help of Rick.

Eric Bischoff vs. "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko for control of Nitro with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart as special guest referee from Starrcade is replayed.

Mike Tenay interviews "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko. Zbyszko ays the moment of truth for Scott Hall is rapidly approaching, and he wants to know if Scott Hall can beat him at his own game. He remembered how impressive Scott Hall was when he started and how Hall could not beat him for the world title. Zbyszko tells Scott Hall he took him to the crossroads of greatness, and he took the easy way out. He then tells Scott Hall he is "sitting on a first-class seat on the ship of fools heading straight out to Larry Land." Zbyszko then tells Hall he can still beat him, that he has retired men who make Hall look like Mother Theresa, and that he was wrestling all over the world while Scott Hall was "in some grade school picking his nose." He then says he changed wrestling history in August 1980, and that at Souled Out, he will change The New World Order for life.

Ray Traylor beats Scott Hall after "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko distracts Hall after stopping him from using a steel chair as a weapon.

Mike Tenay interviews Bret "The Hit Man" Hart in the ring. Bret says that for years, he has called himself "the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be" and that he knows "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair takes exception to that, but he has nothing but respect for Flair and all of his accomplishments. At the same time, however, he believes in himself and that he has accomplished a lot of things, and now that he is in WCW, he has no other choice but to prove himself all over again. Bret says he will not stop until he proves once again that he is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. Suddenly, Ric Flair shows up, and says that since last week, a thousand people have told him to get Bret to say his signature phrase with him in the ring and to say his "coming around the mountain again" phrase from earlier this week. Bret tells Flair he will find out he is the best there is, was and ever will be and that he will prove it at Souled Out. Flair says that in the last 25 years, some people have said stupid things to him, and says that was one of the stupidest. Flair admits that Bret comes from a great background, but while Bret was in the WWF, he went around the world 13 times, and he resents Bret saying that he is better than him. Bret says that "to be the mean, I guess I'll have to beat the man." Bret tries to leave, but Flair stops him and tells him that he will find out at Souled Out that it is not just being the man; it is staying the man.

Despite the distraction from Buff Bagwell, Lex Luger beats Scott Norton with the Torture Rack after kicking out of Norton's shoulder breaker. After the match, Bagwell is put in the Torture Rack, and "Macho Man' Randy Savage runs into the ring only for Bagwell to be dropped on top of him.

After referee Randy Anderson inadvertently falls victim to a Stinger Splash meant for Hogan, Sting gets Hogan in the Scorpion Death Lock. Nick Patrick runs into the ring and tells Sting to make the break, but Sting notices him. Sting is about to beat up Patrick when Hogan hits Sting from behind. Nick Patrick then makes the count after Hogan gets Sting in a schoolboy pin with a handful of tights. Nick Patrick hands the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to Hogan after calling for the bell, but Sting knocks Nick Patrick out of the ring and starts fighting Hogan again. Sting gets Hogan in the Scorpion Death Lock again, and Sting wins it. WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon shows up to hand the WCW World Heavyweight Championship to Sting, but Eric Bischoff gets in the ring and knees Dillon in the gut in an attempt to take the World title away only to fall victim to a Scorpion Death Drop. The rest of The New World Order runs into the ring, and Sting falls victim to the numbers game. Bret "The Hit Man" Hart then runs into the ring and fights the nWo along with Sting along with Diamond Dallas Page, Ray Traylor, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan and other members of the WCW locker room.

Mike Tenay interviews WCW Executive Committee Chairman J.J. Dillon, who says that a final, binding decision on "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan vs. Sting for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship on last week's Nitro. Dillon asks for "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan to come to the ring. Hogan heads to the ring with Eric Bischoff and the rest of The New World Order. Dillon then asks for Sting to come to the ring with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, and Sting heads to the ring with the WCW World Heavyweight Championship around his waist, now with the black "nWo" spraypaint cleaned off the center plate. Dillon announces that effective immediately, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship is held up and vacant until a decision is made as to what to do from here. Dillon then asks Sting to hand him the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. Sting takes off the WCW World Heavyweight Championship and throws it down in front of Dillon, then points his baseball bat at Dillon and tells him "You've got no guts." Sting then tells Hogan that he is a dead man.

Diamond Dallas Page retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship against Kevin Nash by disqualification after "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan punches DDP in the gut as he gets Kevin Nash in the Diamond Cutter. Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for November 17, 1997

The New World Order, minus "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, shows up to start the show. Scott Hall sends a shout-out, who is sitting back at home, and says that all is well within the nWo. Hall then calls out "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko, and tells him that he, Kevin Nash and Eric Bischoff watched old tapes of him and that even on fast-forward, he still didn't move. Hall then says Zbyszko doesn't want a piece of him and that he can't beat Bischoff. Kevin Nash says the nWo has an agenda, and tells The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) that they haven't beaten them and that The Outsiders (Hall and Nash) are the true tag team champions. He also tells The Giant that he can keep his spot as the one true giant in WCW as he's too busy being 6'10", sexy and just two sweet. Bischoff says that the nWo had so much fun with surprises last week that they have a new one this week: "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan himself. Hogan then brings out "Ravishing" Rick Rude, who is still in WWF as part of D-Generation X ("The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, "Triple H" Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Chyna, Rude), now no longer sporting his full beard. Rude says "Oh, what a difference a day makes!" and talks about the rights and the wrongs of professional wrestling. He says it is wrong that that Shawn claims to be a world champion when he never beat Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, and that Vince McMahon instructed a referee to ring the bell to rob Bret of the WWF Championship. On the other hand, he calls Bret abandoning "the Titanic" and swam to the refuge of the nWo, and nWo's course to destroy WCW and beat up the man called Sting what's right with wrestling, and regrets not being able to take part in last week's beating on Sting. He tells Sting that the second verse will be the same as the first, a whole lot rowdier and a whole lot worse, as he will participate. Hogan then asks the fans what it's like to be him, and says that spring has sprung and Sting has been stung before proclaiming that his blood runs through the nWo's veins and vice versa and all they had to do was watch him put Sting in their place to realize that he will live forever. Hogan says that Sting won't show up, as Sting will never be seen in WCW and nWo will rule for eternity. (Rick Rude shows up during the second hour of WWF Raw sporting a full beard. This is significant as it proves that Nitro was really broadcast live and that Raw was taped; tonight's episode of Raw was taped six days earlier. Rick Rude also appeared over the weekend on ECW Hardcore TV as well.)

We see a performance by The Nitro Girls.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Ray Traylor. He says he does not want any help or sympathy, saying that he turned his back on WCW to join the nWo but did not like the person he had become. Every time the nWo attack him from behind to hurt it, it shows what cowards they are. As he challenges anyone to face him anywhere, any time, he is suddenly jumped from behind by The New World Order. Even "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan joins in on the attack, smacking Traylor in the back with his belt, and Savage spray paints the letters "NWO" on Traylor's back.

Meng beats Glacier by pinfall with the Tongan Death Grip. After the match, Meng and The Barbarian, the latter having been called out by Jimmy Hart, attack Glacier, but "The Cat" Ernest Miller makes the save and fights off all three men only to fall victim to the Tongan Death Grip as well.

Diamond Dallas Page says he doesn't know Bret "the Hit Man' Hart on a professional level, but he knows Bret Hart as a wrestler. He doesn't get why Bret "The Hit Man" Hart would join The New World Order, especially when he know how bad Bret wants it each and every night in the ring.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Disco Inferno! Harlem Heat! The Giant! Rey Mysterio Jr.!

Alex Wright beats Steve "Mongo" McMichael by disqualification when Mongo violently pushes the referee while stomping Wright in the corner after being aggravated by Debra McMichael. During the match, it is announced that Mongo will face Goldberg one-on-one at World War 3.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Chris Jericho after escaping the last powerbomb in a triple powerbomb attempt and hits a hurricanrana for the win. Both men show respect after the match (though it is not shown as the replay for the match plays right over it).

"The Crippler" Chris benoit says Bret is a great role model recognized by everyone, and says it is a shame that Bret would affiliate himself in any way with the nWo.

Eric Bischoff gets "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko's attention on the commentary table, and tells him he is sick and tired of hearing the commentary team talk about the New World Order. Bischoff walks away after , then walks back and smacks him in the head. Zbyszko confronts Bischoff, but is attacked by Konnan, Buff Bagwell, Scott Norton and Vincent. A fan tries to attack Bischoff from behind, but he gets attacked as well and is detained by WCW security. Bischoff kicks Zbyszko in the gut a few times while the other nWo members hold Zbyszko down. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan shows up on commentary early, replacing Zbyszko on commentary while a trainer tends to Zbyszko.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Villano V. After the match, DDP knocks Villano IV off the top rope and hits him with a Diamond Cutter as well before leaving through the crowd.

Dean Malenko vs. Eddie Guerrero ends n a double count-out when both men are unable to get up after a ten-count following a top rope back suplex by Dean Malenko. Eddie Guerrero retains . Rey Mysterio Jr. briefly watches the match from the entrance ramp midway through the match, as he faces the winner of this match this Sunday at World War 3 for the Cruiserweight title.
Lex Luger has mixed reactions about Bret "The Hit Man" Hart joining The New World Order, saying he has known Bret for years from travelling down the road together and has mutual respect for him. If it is true, it is hard to believe, but he is very disappointed.

Jamie Brandenberg of Georgetown University of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity in Georgetown, Kentucky is the winner of this week's Nitro Prize Pack, and we see the videotape of his Nitro party.

Perry Saturb beats Scotty Riggs with The Rings of Saturn. Raven's Flock (Raven, Perry Saturn, Billy Kidman, Sick Boy, Van Hammer) is seen in the front row before the next match, in which Saturn participates. Kidman grabs a microphone after he and Raven jump the guardrail alongside Saturn, and says he is authorized by Raven to give Riggs one more chance to join Raven so he can set him free. During the match, Riggs' eyepatch and bandage around his right eye both fall off, and we see how glassy and fogged out that eye is before he hits Raven's Flock with a top rope cross body to the outside and into the front row. Raven's Flock attacks Riggs after the match, then Raven moves his men away and kneels over Riggs.

We see another performance by The Nitro Girls.

The Steiner Brothers (Ric and Scott Steiner) and Ted DiBiase are all attacked by The New World Order, putting an end to the match between the Steiners and Vicious and Delicious (Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell) before it can even take place. "Macho Man' Randy Savage spray paints the letters "NWO" on Scott Steiner's back. Before this, it is announced that "The Living Legend" Larry Zbyszko has been taken from the arena to a local hospital for further observation.

Lex Luger beats Curt Hennig by disqualification after pushing the referee into Luger and hits him in the skull with the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship. Curt Hennig retains the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship, and runs away when The Giant heads into the ring to save Luger. During the match, it is announced that The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) and Ted DiBiase are not seriously hurt after what happened earlier, and that The Steiner Brothers will be able to compete again soon at World War 3.

Before the next match, Kevin Nash guests on commentary after heading to the commentary table, scaring away Bobby "The Brain" Heenan.

The Giant beats Scott Hall by disqualification after Scott Hall injures The Giant's right hand in an attempt to stop the choke slam and the rest of The New World Order attack The Giant before he can hit Scott Hall with a choke slam. The entire WCW locker room rushes into the ring and fights back against the nWo to end the show.
