Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for January 8, 2026

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) head to the ring to start tonight's show. Matt says they have a big match tonight, then states that The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) have officially crossed the line after dragging him out of the ring, putting him in a ritual room, and then turning their locker room into a shrine that included their families. He says that The Righteous cannot come back from crossing that line, calling it "blasphemy," not respect or admiration. Jeff agrees, and says The Righteous should face them like real men. The Righteous show up, but Matt Hardy does not want to hear it, and wants a match with The Righteous. Vincent says they would love to share the ring with them. Dutch says they are "Die-Hardys" speaking truth and elevation, for The Hardys are righteous, but they are many. Vincent says this is a misunderstanding and not their intention, but if they are to do this, he want to be a friendly competition, and afterwards, all they are looking for is "a little peace" with The Hardys. Matt Hardy says that they trespassed into their private lives and that they will never see peace, but Vincent tells Matt that he can trust him. He then says that "we are all here [in the wrestling business] because we are not all there." Matt Hardy wants the match. Vincent says they cannot do that, as they have to prepare for going against greatness in a tag team that is forever, then mentions that Genesis is coming up, calling it "the rebirth of The Righteous." Jeff Hardy accepts the match for Genesis.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Steve Maclin, who wants to get the International Championship match back. He says that the locker room is glad that he is on their side, then Eric Young shows up. Eric Young says he tried to open his eyes to the truth and get him to join his team, and while he has not convinced him yet, he says that Maclin knows what has to be done. He says that if Maclin does not complete his mission, the cleanse will.

Dani Luna beats Harley Hudson. After the match, Dani Luna attacks Myla Grace when Myla checks on Harley, then chases the referee out of the ring before going back on the attack. Suddenly, Lei Ying Lee shows up and gets in the ring, and Dani Luna retreats at first only to go back to the ring and puts Lei Ying Lee in a sleeper hold. Xia Brookside tries to make the save, but Dani Luna lays her out, as well.

Backstage, Mara Sadé is met by "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth. Mara wants Ryan Nemeth - who thinks she is interested in him following a series of superkicks - to leave her alone. When Ryan does not get the hint, she hits him with another superkick. Dani Luna then raises up the TNA Knockouts World Championship.

Backstage, nobody in Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, Tasha Steelz) can find Special Agent Zero, and Mustafa Ali has to go on with his State of the Union address without him. Elijah is right behind him, and he has taken out Special Agent Zero.

Backstage, The Elegance Brand (Ash by Elegance, Heather by Elegance, M by Elegance, The Personal Concierge George Iceman) suddenly find their pick for "Mr. Elegance." The man in question is a backstage worker checking on the nearby light who has worked for TNA for eight years. Despite looking like a regular Joe, he gets the nod of approval from all four members of The Elegance Brand and gets a makeover. Meanwhile, a man in a kung fu robe comes out from under the table and says "I must protect...The Elegance Brand."

Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, Tasha Steelz) head to the ring for Mustafa Ali's State of the Union Address. John Skyler says that due to recent events, they have made some changes in TNA that will be imminent, permanent and not only beneficial to Order 4 but to all of TNA. Jason Hotch says they will mention everything nice and slowly so "the morons of El Paso, Texas" can understand.Tasha Steelz introduces Mustafa Ali, who says that it means a lot to be called a "culero" before addressing Elijah, who he says will suffer consequences for his actions. Mustafa states that he has spoken to TNA management about getting rid of some distractions, and proposes that from now on, there will be no more concerts, guitars, cowboy boots or cowboys hats, and puts it up to a vote. To nobody's surprise, this proves unpopular with the fans, and Mustafa says he knows better than the fans do about what is good for them, as they will cheer for anything, including him being dragged out of the arena by a horse. Elijah suddenly shows up on a horse before heading to the ring with a guitar in his hands. Order 4 retreats, and they are forced to flee through the crowd. Elijah gets on his horse and gets his lasso, then chases Order 4 to the back.

Backstage after the commercial break, Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, Jason Hotch, Tasha Steelz) is outside of the arena, but Elijah has caught up with them. Everything becomes old-school widescreen and slow motion as Elijah chases Order 4 again.

Steve Maclin beats Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo by disqualification after Arianna Grace gets in the ring and rakes his eyes. Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo retains the TNA International Championship. After the match, Lexis King, Tyson Dupont, and Brooks Jensen gang up on Maclin, and Stacks his Maclin with a knee to the face as Dupont and Lexis hold Maclin down.

As per the Bioflex Injury Report: Dani Luna, Lei Ying Lee, Xia Brookside and Harley Hudson are currently being evaluated after tonight. All members of The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose, JDC), Leon Slater, The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Cedric Alexander are cleared for tonight's main event. TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella is now cleared, yet is still emotionally distracted and distraught. Mike Santana is cleared to compete next week despite lingering problems in his arm. Steve Maclin is now in evaluation after what happened earlier.

We see digital exclusive footage from last week where AJ Francis verbally runs down Rich Swann only for Rich Swann to attack him from behind with a baseball bat and put him through a table.

Leon Slater, The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and Cedric Alexander beat The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose, JDC) in an eight-man tag match with a schoolkid pin from Cedric to Moose.

We hear from Lei Ying Lee, who says that she earned the TNA Knockouts World Championship prior to her match with Dani Luna.

TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella is in the ring. He apologizes for his appearance and thanks the fans for their support, then oversees the contract signing between Mike Santana and Frankie Kazarian for their World Championship match next week. Santana is introduced first, followed by Kazarian. Santino says that this match will have implications. If Kazarian retains, Santana goes to the back of the line; if Santana wins, he will defend the World Championship at Genesis. Kazarian says that Santino may have to send opponents from NXT to face him, then says that nobody wanted Santana in TNA more than him and that Santana has always been honest with everyone. He then admits something that he has never publicly disclosed: he, too, is an addict and has an addiction, but his addiction is being the TNA World Championship, "The King of TNA," and a top guy, and he likes his addiction. Kazarian says he wants to dance with his demons, not fight them, and that is why he will walk into Genesis at TNA Champion. He signs the contract. Santana says they were both at the same place at the same in a place that sucked the passion out of them, and they both left that place and are now sitting across each other vying for the greatest prize in pro wrestling. He says that he has heard what Kazarian has said before, then talks about how he carried so much on his back since his return to TNA two years ago before declaring that he is taking the World Championship back for himself. He guarantees that he will walk out a two-time TNA World Champion, and if he cannot do it, then he does not have what it takes and he may not have a place in TNA. Santana signs the contract. All of a sudden, "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth shows up with the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Trophy and calls himself the reason for TNA's debut on AMC next week. Nemeth says he does not like Kazarian or Santana, then says both men will beat the living hell out of each other while he waits in the wings to call his shot and walk out as World Champion. He tells both men to beat each other down and live for it, because afterwards, he will be World Champion. Santana signs the contract, as does Kazarian, then both men have a staredown to end the show.

She says that she has a massive target on her back, even when she is rebuilding and rethinking things while proving to be the best only to come up short. MJF tells Riccaboni to get out of his ring, then introduces himself to Jarrett. He says that he wants the World Championship back and that the world title scene is hard work, then says that Jeff Jarrett may be the one man he considers worthy of holding the championship. MJF says he knows Jarrett wants to be world champion, then reminds him that the clock is ticking and that Jarrett has been less than honest with the fans, stating that his new contract was for one more year. He says that he only signed that contract because one year is all the professional wrestling business thinks Jarrett has left to give, and that Jarrett has only one year to prove that he still has it. MJF says he can help Jarrett become World Champion one more time, because without him, he could not even win one more match. He then asks a favor: he wants to be first in line when Jarrett wins the World Championship. MJF then asks Jarrett if they have a deal, then Jarrett takes the microphone and says MJF was the champion, but says that he is "a one-hit wonder" who does not learn from his failures. He says that he has been at rock bottom and that he is comfortable there, but it also gives him the opportunity to fight his way back up to the top of the mountain, and while MJF had an opportunity, he would rather scheme and connive. Jarrett says he will make the most of his year, then tells MJF he does not need him and that he is not buying what he is selling before calling him an "entitled prick."

Adam Copeland heads to the ring. Copeland calls out Jon Moxley, mentioning the damage that The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir) have caused as of late and telling him that going after FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) was a massive mistake. He says that no one has fought through what he has fought through just to be here in the ring and that he will die on that hill, for he is a different animal entirely. He talks about breaking his neck against Eddie Guerrero and breaking his leg against Malakai Black and getting back up and winning those matches, and wants to know what Moxley can do to him that has not been done before. Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta show up, and Copeland looks around to make sure that he is not being ambushed. All of a sudden, the three of them are attacked from behind by FTR. Copeland joins in, and this leads to a brawl around the ring. Marina Shafir shows up from out of nowhere and distracts Copeland, and that allows PAC, who also appears from out of nowhere, to hit Copeland from behind with a briefcase. The Death Riders get the numbers advantage, and Moxley puts Copeland in the bulldog choke before Shafir hands Moxley a plastic bag. Suddenly, Powerhouse Hobbs shows up, and The Death Riders retreat as Hobbs gets in the ring.

We hear from "The Glamour" Mariah May, who tells the women in the Women's Casino to make history by dancing for her like the marionettes that they are before she cuts their strings and burns them alive. All of a sudden, Harley Cameron shows up impressed with Mariah's promo, and proposes "an appetizer" between them on Collision with "hot girl graps." Mariah May likes the idea, then says she will rip Harley's head off.

Kris Statlander beats Toni Storm and Willow Nightingale in a three-way match to enter the Women's Casino Gauntlet Match at #1.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Toni Storm, who says that she gave her best tonight but was just not ready. She says she will keep working hard and that it cannot be Toni Time all the time.

Kenny Omega heads to the ring. Omega talks about his diverticulitis diagnosis, the surgery and the recovery process, during which he had to return to the hospital four more times, and how he considered giving up before realizing he would not have much of a purpose if he did. He says that he found his purpose in Tokyo, Japan just like did tonight, and says that if he is not front of the fans giving everything that he has and proving that he is the best, then he is not living. Omega says that while he may not be able to do some of the things he used to do, he can still prove he is the best. Suddenly, Don Callis shows up. Omega chases after Callis as soon as he speaks and attacks him, and Brian Cage and Lance Archer soon show up to gang up on Omega. Back in the ring, Omega fights back, and Kyle Fletcher soon shows up and joins in on the attack. Archer and Fletcher hold Omega down for a gut punch from Cage, then Will Ospreay runs out with a metal folding chair to make the save. Cage, Archer and Fletcher retreat, then Ospreay tosses the chair down when Omega sees him. Both Ospreay and Omega have a staredown in the ring as the show ends.

Drew says he might as well leave for nine years and come back to a hero's welcome when CM Punk shows up. CM Punk says that he is known for talking and not Drew McIntyre, then says that since he has returned, talking is all Drew has done. He then allows Drew to say whatever he has to say to him to his face. He says Randy Orton could not help him because he had his own demon, then goes on to call CM Punk a demon and "a self-serving succubus." He says that when he was fired, he eventually figured it out, and now he is Punk's leader. Punk says he has called himself many things, but leader is not one of them. He also talks about how Drew followed his lead on his return, then says that Drew is somehow mad about it. CM Punk then says he "is Satan" when pushed, and that he is a nice guy until it is time not to be and that it is time to win the Royal Rumble and headline WrestleMania. She then says she is focused on running through the Royal Rumble and becoming a champion. As Nia says there is no man or woman who can stop her as she mentions both Rhea Ripley and Io Sky, Rhea Ripley suddenly shows up. Rhea says everyone knows Nia likes to talk a big game, then reminds Nia that she eliminated her from the Royal Rumble last year. She then says that while beating Becky Lynch is an accomplishment, Becky is "no Rhea bloody Ripley." She then tells Nia that she does not own the women's division and warns her that if she does win the Royal Rumble, it is best that she keep her name out of her mouth. Nia tells Rhea she may be the most dominant women's champion in history, then reminds her that she put her on her ass when she came back and that she is not champion because Rhea does not want to face her. He says he has worked too hard and too long and that he took a title that did not exist a year ago and made it the most important title in the industry the way he said he would do it, then asks who he will beat at WrestleMania. As he talks about how the Raw roster is loaded from top to bottom, Jinder Mahal suddenly shows up and heads to the ring. Jinder says he was more of a revolutionary in five minutes than Seth was in five years and that Seth is only here to entertain clowns and push degeneracy before calling Portland, Oregon a degenerate city. He also says that Seth is not a role model and and overlooks tenured, decorated champions like him, and for the first time, he finally has his attention. Seth agrees that Jinder has been overlooked, then says it was on purpose and that Jinder was forgotten until The Rock put his balls in a vice. He then gives kudos to Jinder for showing back up before confronting him for getting in his face. He says that if Jinder does not want to be overlooked, all he has to do is take a swing. Jinder refuses, but when Seth calls him "Same old Jinder" and turns his back, Jinder hits him from behind. Anderson says he and Gallows have ran with Balor for a long time, and Gallows says that when they came to WWE, they had to stand alone. By doing that, they became champions in their own right. They went and did their own thing, but they knew one day they would have to join forces and take WWE over. That day was last week, and they are excited, as 2018 is the year of Balor Club. Jordan is not impressed, saying he glad to be part of the champions' club. Anderson asks if that is "some cute new version of The Shield," and Balor says he doesn't see Ambrose anywhere. Balor, Gallows and Anderson proceed to call Jordan a nerd. Jordan slaps Gallows in the face, and Rollins and Reigns have to hold Jordan back. Suddenly, General Manager Kurt Angle shows up, and says he has just found his main event for tonight. He doesn't know who would win between the two teams, but he would love to find out, and makes a six-man tag match between the two teams official.

Sasha Banks and Bayley beat Absolution (Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville) with a Banks Statement to Mandy Rose. Before the match, it is announced that Mickie James is entering the Women's Royal Rumble.

We look back on Mankind's hospital visit to Vince McMahon on October 25, 1998...as well as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin's attack on Vince afterwards.

In the locker room, Cedric Alexander has a meeting with Goldust, who does his best impression of Rocky Balboa's boxing coach Mickey Goldmill. Cedric says he is close to becoming a champion, but Goldust says there is one thing standing in his way: himself. He tells Cedric that he is control, not them. Cedric says he'll be okay, but Goldust says Enzo Amore won't be.

It is reported that Goldust will be teaming with Alicia Fox for WWE Mixed Match Challenge on Facebook Watch one week from tomorrow.

Matt Hardy - now with new entrance music to reflect being "woken" - beats Curt Hawkins. After the match, Bray Wyatt is in the ring behind Matt Hardy. Hardy turns around, and both men have a staredown where they laugh at each other.

Elias is in the ring. He plays guitar, then asks the fans to admit it was good before asking who wants to walk with him. Elias says he has been everywhere, and that he has met a million people and heard a million people, and that only one truth remains: WWE stands for "Walk With Elias." He says that today is a very special day, and that there is no better place to celebrate the occasion than in Memphis, Tennessee. He then plays a song written for tonight. Elias proceeds to sing about Elvis Presley and Graceland, then proceeds to ask why he should even care about any of it. He then says there is a star on the way of taking over the entertainment biz...then says it is The Miz. The Miz shows up with The Miztourage (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel), who all enter the ring. Miz asks the fans if they miss him, which results in an ovation from the crowd. It is now time for Miz TV, and The Miz says that The Marine 6 filming has wrapped and he is back. The Miz may have been go for a while, but he has not been forgotten as Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have kept his name alive as he is the glue that keeps Raw together and must-see. He then makes Bo and Axel tonight's guests as he says they have turned themselves around in 2018. Bo and Curtis show their appreciation for The Miz for helping them make 2017 their best year yet, then start a "Thank You Miz!" chant before Bo gives Miz a framed photo of himself. Curtis then gives Miz the sportscoat off his back. Bo gives Miz his watch, and Curtis tries to give Miz his shoes. Bo and Curtis argue until Miz tells them to shut up and sit down. Miz goes on to say 2017 was a great year for him, but he has a lot more planned. He held the Intercontinental title for 200 days while elevating Bo, Curtis and Raw, but he has not forgotten getting beaten up by The Shield two months ago. Miz calls this "an indignity not befitting someone who has done as much for WWE as he have." He says that he has merely let Roman Reigns borrow the Intercontinental title so it could be represented week after week and become bigger than him. In 2018, he will witness the birth of his daughter and he will become the greatest WWE Intercontinental Champion of all time, with children of this generation picturing only him carrying the title. He hopes Roman Reigns has enjoyed the spotlight, for it is coming to an end and he is taking the Intercontinental Championship back.

In the locker room, Finn Balor tells Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) are focused on their six-man tag team match. The situation may be different, but the tactics are the same: eyes open, feet moving. Tonight, they have a real opportunity to show everyone that 2018 is the year of Balor Club.

Before the next match, Enzo Amore says the doctors could not let him compete last week after he was in the hospital. He then mentions Goldust in last week's cruiserweight division match, and says Cedric is teaming him Goldust because it's the closest he'll get to gold in 2018. Enzo plans to end this year like he ended last year: with gold around his waist.

In the trainer's room, Enzo Amore is met by Nia Jax.

General Manager Kurt Angle is talking to someone who hasn't been in the ring in years who may be in the Women's Royal Rumble. He is then met by Sheamus and Cesaro, who are demanding their tag team title rematch. Sheamus accuses Angle of putting Jason Jordan in a six-man tag team match and accuses him of favoritism. Angle tells Sheamus and Cesaro they will get their rematch at Royal Rumble. As for tonight, they want competition. Angle tells them to head to the ring so he can find them some competition. He is then met by The Miz, who says that he will be starring in his own unscripted series along with Maryse. He then demands a rematch for the Intercontinental title on Raw's 25th Anniversary. Angle tells Miz he will have his rematch for the title in two weeks.

Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews get a surprise win on Sheamus and Cesaro when Apollo Crews distracts Sheamus with a moonsault on Cesaro, allowing Titus to win the match with a schoolboy pin.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman show up. Heyman says there is a credo in the business called "old school," which he and Lesnar have a lot of respect for, but they never let it blind them to the fact that wrestling is always a progressive industry that is ever-changing in terms of presentation. He asks the crowd to forgive him for being a hypocrite, as he has gotten away from the old school that is not for the betterment of the product and detracting towards the Universal Championship reign on Brock Lesnar. They are always looking for that one person who can step up and beat Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion, but they have gotten away from that, as the Universal title is now marketed as "How can Brock Lesnar survive this predicament?" Heyman doesn't like it, and he admits Lesnar does not like the concept. Last week, Lesnar took Kane's best shot and laughed in his face, just like he will at Royal Rumble when he faces both Kane and Braun Strowman with the title on the line. This time, however, Brock Lesnar will walk into Royal Rumble with only one cliffhanger in mind: "Will he pin Kane, Braun or both?" Heyman then says that Brock Lesnar is the most dominant champion in WWE, and says he has yet to see anyone who can outmatch Lesnar and put him down. As Lesnar and Heyman leave, Lesnar is attacked from behind by Kane, and both men brawl next to the stage. The brawl spills to the backstage area, and Braun Strowman quickly joins in, tossing Lesnar around and attacking Kane with a large storage case. Braun finds a grappling hook, then tosses it into a nearby set structure and pulls it down with the grappling hook in an attempt to crush both Kane and Lesnar as everyone nearby begs him not to do it. (One of the members of security is played by independent wrestler Precious.)

We see footage from during the break where doctors help Brock Lesnar onto a stretcher and into an ambulance while Kane tries to get back up under his own power.

Samoa Joe beats Rhyno with the Coaquina Clutch. Charly Caruso interviews Samoa Joe after the match. He says Roman Reigns' win last week was a Pyrrhic victory, and he has beaten years off his career every time they have squared off, and the cracks in the foundation are coming. When it all comes tumbling down, he will be there to finish the job. He is looking to greater things, and he is going to enter the Men's Royal Rumble. As for future challengers, when it comes to his career, John Cena will be a name he will never forget, and he will be the first man he eliminates in the Rumble.

Backstage, Nia Jax is met by Alexa Bliss, who asks about Enzo Amore. Alexa tells Nia Jax she cares, but she is worried that Enzo is holding her back. Nia Jax says Enzo has inspired her to become a champion, and she is entering the Women's Royal Rumble. Alexa tells Nia that if she can take out Asuka before the Women's Rumble Match, they can go on to WrestleMania. Alexa also tells Nia that Asuka has been saying things about, and whispers something into Nia's ear. Nia is shocked, then asks Alexa if she can speak Japanese, because Asuka can't speak English.

The Rawls Family is the winner of the Little Caesars Seat Upgrade this week.

Nia Jax assaults Asuka from behind before Asuka's match can even happen.

You can vote for Bayley's partner in WWE Mixed Match Challenge on the Mixed Match Challenge Facebook page. The winner will be announced at noon Eastern.

Next week: Asuka vs. Nia Jax!

Finn Balor and Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) beat Jason Jordan and The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns) after Jason Jordan gets in the ring illegally, distracting the referee and keeping him from seeing Rollins tag Reigns in. This leads to an argument between Jordan and Reigns. Gallows & Anderson hit Rollins with Magic Killer, and while Jordan checks on Rollins, Balor hits Rollins with the drop kick before connecting with Coup De Grace for the win. After the match, The Miztourage (The Miz, Bo Dallas, Curtis Axel) attack Reigns, Rollins and Jordan, and The Miz hits Reigns with the Skull Crushing Finale. The Miztourage teases leaving the ring, then they go back into the ring so they can hit Roman Reigns with The Shield's signature three-man powerbomb.
