He says that O'Reilly may become the Continental Champion, but he is not the same man he was six months ago. One might think he should stay as far away from O'Reilly as possible, as O'Reilly has his number, but there are dragons that he wants to slay and he will find a way to beat O'Reilly like he has the past 22 years. Claudio says that Brody King always brings the bark, then warns him that he must bring the bite in the Owen Hart Tournament. He admits that he has struggled in his matches and could not be the guy that AEW put their trust in once upon a time, and that he could not get his revenge on Jon Moxley. He says that Moxley is the ace of AEW, despite his tactics, and he has respect for him. Ospreay says that no one will stop him from winning the Owen Hart Tournament, and that the man who took away his old life has given him a second chance at capturing the World Championship.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Willow Nightingale). Kyle O'Reilly says he has Jon Moxley's number, and asks what one more test is before beating him and chipping in at Double or Nothing. Mark Briscoe says he is still waiting on Tommaso Ciampa. Willow Nightingale says she is defending the TBS Championship, but going for the Owen Hart Tournament and coming for the ROH Women's World Television Championship.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Darby Allin. Darby says that MJF is not a company guy and that MJF only cares about himself, then says he is defending his title tonight because he loves doing it. He says that Sammy Guevara is the only guy who is crazy as him, and he knows it could all end tonight. He then says that if "Speedball" Mike Bailey wants a match, then Wednesday is showtime.

Backstage, Tommaso Ciampa attacks Mark Briscoe, and the attack turns into a brawl on the outside. Briscoe gets two chairs into the ring for a Jay Driller in the ring, but Ciampa blocks it and hits a low blow. He says that he is the fans' hero, and for everything he does, he deserves a standing ovation. Bowens then states that Samoa Joe has been teaching him all that he needs to know, including flipping the table over and choosing violence. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) then shows up with Don Callis, and it becomes readily apparent that a bounty between the two parties made this possible. Jake Something, fresh out of TNA and now going by the name "Jake Doyle," shows up with Mark Davis, and Don Callis says that Doyle is going to be very rich for attacking JetSpeed.

MVP guests on commentary for the next match.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway - the latter now in a wheelchair - show up and watch the aftermath of what has happened from the stage.

Renee Paquette introduces Willow Nightingale into the ring for a TBS Championship celebration. Willow is accompanied by Kris Statlander and Harley Cameron. The lights dim as Willow Nightingale says that she feels complete as a double champion, and a light shines on her and Renee as Willow looks forward to the next challenger as well as the things that really matter. Willow celebrates reuniting with both the TBS Championship as well as Kris Statlander, then says that she will take on both TBS and tag team challengers and even wrestle two matches in one night if she has to. Willow expects Mercedes Moné to have something to say and invites Mercedes to the party, and Mercedes shows up dressed in what looks like white funeral clothes. Willow says that there is plenty of celebrate, especially for Mercedes' incredible year in 2025, then celebrates having to dig down deep to become TBS Champion again. Mercedes takes her hat off, revealing disheveled hair and an angry mood as she topples the table and all the food on it. This gets her shoved face-first into cake again, and Willow hits Mercedes with a Doctor Bomb on the cake. The celebration ends with Renee, Statlander, Harley and Willow in a congo line.

Immediately after the match, MJF shows up along with Jon Cruz and congratulates Bandido on his win before calling himself a lucha libre legend and a bigger star in Mexico that Bandido will ever be. He still believes that Bandido has potential, and has Jon Cruz translate for him. MJF thanks Jon Cruz for being professional and coming to "a dump like Oklahoma" to do his work. MJF goes on to mention the Dynamite Diamond Rings that he has won, then says that the Dynamite Diamond Ring on Bandido's finger does not belong to him and that if Bandido hands it to him, they can forego the AEW World Championship match. Jon Cruz tries to translate, but Bandido stops him and tells MJF "I can speak English, you stupid son of a bitch!" MJF kicks Bandido in the groin, takes Bandido's ring, and tries to knock Bandido out when Jon Cruz holds Bandido up only for Bandido to duck and Jon Cruz to get struck instead. Bandido then kicks MJF in the groin, takes the ring back, and hits Jon Cruz with a 21-Plex before hitting MJF with another.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews PAC. PAC says that he is not here to oblige Darby Allin, as he has wrestled and beaten him twice and that he is the established winner. Darby shows up wanting the match, refusing to take no for an answer, but PAC tells him to jog on. As PAC walks away, Darby sprays him with a fire extinguisher and blinds him before hitting him with his skateboard and threatening to break his ankle with a door. PAC gives him the match as Wheeler Yuta, Claudio Castagnoli and Dangiel Garcia rush in. Darby soon retreats.

Hangman says that if Ospreay will have his back, then he will have Ospreay's, and as much as he appreciates it, he is his own man and he does not need help to win the World Championship, not from Ospreay and not from Swerve Strickland. He says he does not need help from the man who would threaten the safety of his family for his own glory, and last week, he made a promise; tonight, he will make another. Hangman says he will never need or accept from Swerve Strickland. However, he will ride into Texas, defeat Jon Moxley, take the briefcase, take the AEW World Championship and hold it above his head, for it is a night for everyone and it will be his night. All of a sudden, Jon Moxley is in the ring, and both men have a staredown. Marina Shafir and Wheeler Yuta soon show up and surround the ring, as does Claudio Castagnoli. He says that Moxley will find out that his actions will be met with consequences that will be met on Claudio Castagnoli next week. FTR scores the second fall following the Shatter Machine on Roderick Strong. Paragon almost scores the third fall, but Dax gets his foot on the bottom rope, and the ref notices it after the three-count. The ref waves it off and lets the match continue, and FTR get the win After the match, Daniel Garcia shows up with a microphone in one hand and a crowbar in the other, and Garcia says he has too much love for FTR to hit them and Stokely with a crowbar. He thanks FTR for putting him back on his feet when his last mentors left him high and dry, but after what he did to him, Angelo Parker and Matt Menard, he wants answers. She reminds Billie that she signed a contract and that she is a minion for life until she terminates the deal.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling says The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Josh Woods) there are "cosplaying nerds in the crowd tonight," and says that if anyone would like to cosplay as actual, respectable human beings and not "fat man and Dork Vader," they can buy their new T-shirts. He then tries to get the crowd to say The Premier Athletes rule, but gets told that they suck.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) beat The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari).

He also says that Dutch has crossed a line mentioning his father and his father's bullrope, and while he understands that he trained with him and that he saw something in Dutch after he took him in, he has no idea what kind of man his father was outside of the ring. Dustin says Dutch does not know far he has gone by using his father's kindness against him. He says that he has walked through Hell and kicked the devil in the teeth, and now, it is on at Final Battle in a Double Bullrope Match for the ROH World Tag Team Championships. He says that Sammy Guevara has always had his back and that they will deliver The Righteous straight to Hell where they can rot forever, and warns The Righteous not to mention his father again because it will be the last words that they ever speak.

Lethal says it is an honor to return at Final Battle, then says that it is imperative that he gets back on top in ROH and wants to know who his opponent is when QT Marshall and Aaron Solo show up. Marshall says his heat is with Lethal, not with Wight, and insists that Lethal face him after doing nothing of note in the last year and that Lethal is trying to rekindle a flame that never existed. Lethal gets heated with Marshall, who says that he will not ask for any more matches and says that when whatever Lethal has in mind does not work out, he is free to carry his bags just like Jeff Jarrett. Wight gets between both Lethal and Marshall as the former gets his hands on the latter, then Wight warns Marshall "Not in my office" before telling Lethal to take care of business with Marshall at Final Battle before they talk about his bright future.

We look back at Shane Taylor vs. Keny King in a Fight Without Honor from Final Battle 2021.

We hear from Shane Taylor, who says that he has been told that he is not worthy of championship gold and that he should know his pace. "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara beat Eric Dillinger and Josh Crane. After the match, The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) show up. Vincent stops Dutch, then says that if Dustin and Guevara want to fight tonight, he will let the fans decide, as he is "such a nice guy." He asks the fans if they want to see this match tonight, then says "Well, that's just too bad," as the fans do not deserve it and Dustin and Guevara do not decide when it happens. He says that in time, The Righteous will "ring [their] bell with Daddy's bell," where they will see nothing but polka dots. Guevara tries to hold Dustin back as Dustin grabs a metal folding chair.

"Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty retains the ROH Pure Championship against Matt Taven by subsmission.

All of a sudden, Billie Starkz confronts Athena. Athena says Billie owes her an apology and that she did everything for her, but Billie says she has done nothing for her. Athena says she took her under her wing and told her how to win the ROH World Television Championship, but lost it when she tried to do things her own way. After Athena says she is still trying to make things work and has no idea what to do with her, Billie challenges Athena to a fight at Final Battle in lieu of an apology. Athena, taking this as Billie wanting to lay down for her, accepts the match and puts the ROH Women's World Championship on the line, then says she will go on to her world tour.

Tony Schiavone moderates a contract signing between Matt Cardona and "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship at Final Battle. Jericho comes out first, followed by Cardona. Jericho flips the fans off for chanting "Always ready" while he is in the ring, then brags about having more championships "than the Royals and the Chiefs combined" and being "The King of New York." Cardona tries to butt in, but Jericho stops him from speaking, leading to a "You're from Canada" chant that Jericho pretends to fail to understand due to the crowd having "too much of an accent." Jericho then tells Cardona that he is lucky that he is granting him a chance at the ROH World Championship, as he has accomplished so much in his career and being in the ring with him puts him on a different level. He wishes Cardona luck, but warns him that there is no way he is taking the ROH World Championship from him. Cardona tries to speak, but Jericho interrupts him again and gets another "You're from Canada" chant which Jericho pretends is "You're from New York." Cardona finally tells Jericho to shut up and tells him that everything that comes out of his mouth is "100% bullshit," and that everything about Jericho is completely fake, and that Jericho does not care about ROH and is using and leeching off ROH like he does everything else. He says that Final Battle is the biggest opportunity of both his career and his life, and that it is all about proving himself right, which he will do when he beats Jericho to become ROH World Champion. Cardona then signs the contract. Jericho asks Schiavone to step out of the ring before signing the contract, which he immediately delays in doing before frantically scribbling his signature on it. Jericho offers his hand, then Cardona takes it, whips Jericho into "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith, and puts Jericho through the table in the middle of the ring before raising up the ROH World Championship to end the show.

He says that in this whole time, Ospreay has to be wondering why he did what he did, and that it makes him happy. Fletcher then says the fans are as much to blame for this as Ospreay is. He says that when he got to AEW, he was told he was the next big thing and that he had a bright future in professional wrestling until Ospreay showed up, at which point everyone called him "the next Will Ospreay." Fletcher says everybody stated that he looked, sounded and wrestled like Ospreay and that he took all of that as insults, as he is better than Ospreay in every single way. He admits that there might have been a time when he would have liked those comparisons, especially in 2021 when Ospreay had a killer instinct, then mentions Ospreay stabbing others in the back much like how he stabbed Ospreay. Fletcher then says he knew what he had to do to get out of Ospreay's shadow as it was the lesson that he taught him, and it was Don Callis who caused him to realize that Ospreay never wanted him to surpass him, as he is selfish. He then gives Ospreay one chance to save face with the fans - who are chanting "shut the fuck up" at this point - by ignoring doctor's orders and facing him in the ring next week so he can destroy his neck and be who he was meant to be. Fletcher then says that if he wants to stand at the top of the company and take it to heights it has never seen before, he must be nothing like Ospreay. Nigel then says there are only two people who know that this saying is true - him and Danielson - and that this is why Danielson has refused to answer his challenge, as he knows that if he shows up, he will destroy him and finally have vindication. He says that Danielson is taking away from him the one thing he deserves, but this time, even if Danielson does not show up, he will be vindicated. He says the ball is in Danielson's court, and says if there is a God in heaven, it will happen. He then says that if there is not, then may the Devil hear his prayer.

Daivari says that for the last month he has been here, there has been nothing he has wanted more than to punch all the fans in the face, but he would get arrested, so he will beat up a local Texas and kick his ass in front of all the fans instead.

Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for September 11, 2024

We see the aftermath of The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley), "The Problem" Marina Shafir and PAC betraying "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson. Jon Moxley says Bryan Danielson does not have the stomach for this, and says The Blackpool Combat Club pledged to create something that would last for years that they could be proud of. He then says AEW is full of egos that are out of control and that he cannot take it anymore, then says he has been put here to become the one true king of these lands. He says that Danielson's approach of diplomacy has failed and that he chooses war.

Tony Schiavone interviews The Patriachy (Christian Cage, "The Prodigy" Nick Wanye, Killswitch, Mama Wayne) in the ring to start tonight's show. Christian Cage says that according to Nick Wayne, he has infinite aura, and since he has carried AEW on his back for the last year-and-a-half, he would say this is true, but with his contract, it is undeniable. He admits the year did not start off the way it wanted, and that they had to rally. He says that when Killswitch was about to choke slam him, Killswitch realized what he is and what he needed to be: a monster and the most complete big man in the business today. Christian says he was about to cash in his contract, but realized that Saturday was not the right time or place. He then says that Bryan Danielson's days are nothing and that being suffocated with a bag will be nothing compared to what he does to him. Christian proclaims that he will beat Danielson so badly that Brie Bella will wish she had CTE so she could not comprehend the beating, then declares that he is absolutely the next AEW World Champion. Kip Sabian is seen in the crowd as The Patriarchy leaves.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Don Callis, Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher and "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita. Don Callis asks Will Ospreay to join Kyle Fletcher in the Casino Gauntlet Match for a tag team title shot. Ospreay says he has enough on his plate, but Callis says he owes him a favor and Fletcher says that he is sick and tired of coming close to the tag titles and not winning them. Ospreay agrees to take part in the match for Fletcher.

"Scapegoat" Jack Perry retains the TNT Championship against Lio Rush.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews "Scapegoat" Jack Perrry. Perry says people like him are crucified in this life so they can be celebrated in the next before getting back in his black Ford E-350.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page. Hangman says that if he had found one thousand house that Swerve Strickland called home, he would have burned one thousands houses to ashes, and he would have waited an eternity to make Swerve pay for what he did to him and his family. He says that he meant everything he had done to Swerve, and for those who witnessed it, he wants them to make no mistake that he meant it, and if anyone stood in his way of Swerve, then he will find them and hurt them. All of a sudden, Hangman attacks someone, then starts staring down Top Flight (Darius Martin, Dante Martin, Leila Grey), Action Andretti, The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, Alex Reynolds) and even Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett says his family has seen people like Hangman take the same path, and while he is going the extra mile, it will end with him full of guilt, shame, remorse and regret. He tells Hangman that he will regret laying his hands on his wife and that he will find out that his most dangerous enemy will be the man in the mirror. Hangman then attacks Jarrett, saying nobody asked him before security shows up to force Hangman out.

Before the next match, The Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley), "The Problem" Marina Shafir, and PAC attack everyone involved in the next match. PAC says they have been patient, but enough is enough, and that AEW is broken. He says that what happened at All Out was inevitable, and that they are inevitable "as a product of this festering environment." PAC says he was lost for a long time, but now he has a new purpose. He says diplomacy has failed, and the company is theirs.

Backstage, The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) arrive in a blue Bentley convertible. Jericho says today is a gloroius day to be in The Learning Tree with his new car, his best top students in Bryan Keith and Big Bill, and the $7,000 jacket that Orange Cassidy ruined when he poured orange juice all over it four years ago. This is why he has taken Orange's backpack as collateral, and while he did not find his money in the backpack, he did find something interesting, which he will reveal later tonight. Big Bill says that "thou who does not pay his debt will suffer the consequences." Bryan Keith says "Suffer the damn consequences!"

Ricochet beats Sammy Guevara. After the match, Ricochet gets Speared by The Beast Mortos. Sammy Guevara sees what has happened and scares Mortos out of the ring with a metal folding chair before helping Ricochet up and raising his hand.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada, who says that defending the Continental Championship at All Out was the hardest night of his life, but he did it, and it was easy. Don Callis and "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita show up, with Callis saying that Okada only won because he did not pin Takeshita. Okada says that Takeshita will not be Continental Champion, leaves, then returns and calls Callis a bitch before Takeshita confronts him.

Darby Allin heads to the ring. Darby says that somebody has been looking for him and that he is right here. Jon Moxley and "The Problem" Marina Shafir show up and head to the ring. Moxley says he does not know what Darby has seen or heard, then says nothing has changed between them. Darby tells Moxley he has had enough and that there is a lot to talk about. Darby says that they came from nothing and that they are fighting to make sure they never go back, and says that he wrestles the way that he does because he takes nothing for granted and AEW gave him everything. Darby says he tried to look for a hero in his first year in wrestling, and every time he thought he found that hero, they showed their true colors. He says that Moxley was the exception and that he wanted to be like him. He says that Moxley wrestled in a high school gym on the independents, and while he lost their match in the indies, he knew he belonged in the ring with someone like Moxley. Darby says he looked up to Moxley until he turned on Bryan Danielson, and decided not to be like him anymore. He wants to know what Moxley wants from him. Moxley tells him that he will not face Danielson at Grand Slam, as Danielson is "indisposed" and Darby is not ready to be World Champion, and demands Darby hand his shot at the World Championship to him. Darby asks if Moxley has been dropped on his head or started drinking again, and says that Moxley is starting to sound entitled. He then tells Moxley to do something about it if he wants that world title shot so badly, and Moxley says that if he has to earn it, he will earn it at Grand Slam on September 25th. He then says that he will beat Darby and that Darby will never be World Champion, and says that he does not have time to explain everything to him before telling Darby that the world title shot will be his and that he will have to teach him the lesson the hard way. Darby accepts Moxley's challenge, and admits that while he does not know what Moxley is trying to do, he will push Moxley into the fire if he is trying to burn AEW down.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Interim EVP Christopher Daniels. He says Darby Allin is a risk-taker and that what he is doing is unneccesary. Nigel McGuinness shows up and says that he needs to meet with him and Tony Khan, as they will both want to hear what he has to say.

"The Glamour" Mariah May beats Queen Aminata in an AEW Women's World Championship Eliminator Match. After the match, Mariah says she still has yet to have her championship celebration, as something is missing and someone is missing. She then says that someone is Mira Shirakawa, who she asks to come back.

After the match, Mariah says she still has yet to have her championship celebration, as something is missing and someone is missing. She then says that someone is Mira Shirakawa, who she asks to come back.

Backstage, we hear from The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson). Matthew says that when they formed AEW, they wanted the greatest tag team division of all time, but now they have realized it is just them, because they are doing all the heavy lifting and nobody can beat them. He says that the fans should be mad at the rest of the division for not being good enough to replace them, and Nicholas says that they have created tonight's Tag Team Casino Gauntlet Match to see if any team can do just that before announcing that they will be watching live.

The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) beat The Iron Savages (Boulder, Bronson, Jacked Jameson) in a trios match. After the match, Jericho mentions Orange Cassidy ruining his $7,000 jacket over four years ago, then states that Orange will not give him his money and that he will continue to take Orange's things. Jericho pulls out a portrait of Orange with his former best friends in Kris Statlander, Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta and says that Orange is still obsessed with friendship, telling him that there are no friends in wrestling and that he is being used. He then demands that Orange let go of his friendships and give him his $7,000, then Orange shows up on the video screen and says that "the boys" are bringing the cash. Mark Briscoe and Kyle O'Reilly then show up on a bulldozer and pours a whole bunch of coins into Jericho's Bentley.

Nigel McGuinness is in the ring. He announces that with Darby Allin putting his world title opportunity on the line, he says there will not be a world title match at Grand Slam. He says this is great for the champion, who is probably "strapped to an iron lung gasping for air like Justin Roberts when he was being choked out with his own tie," it is not good for AEW. He says that as a former World Champion, he feels Grand Slam should have the World Champion competing at the very least. He pulls out a contract, saying he has had to watch Danielson's career from the sidelines for years as an afterthought and postscript to a career that should have been his, and that Danielson is afraid of him and the one match that everyone wants to see. McGuinness then says Tony Khan is not afraid and knows a money match when he sees one, and at Grand Slam, it will be Bryan Danielson vs. Nigel McGuinness, and while he can guarantee that Oasis will play him to the ring, he asks if Danielson will join him in the final countdown or if we will see the final match of "The American Dragon" before telling Danielson that the ball is in his court.

We hear from Hook, who says that he respects Roderick Strong and considers him one of the best wrestlers worldwide. He then says that his respect for him has been disturbed after Undisputed Kingdom's attack and Roderick complaining about his foot being under the ropes. He says he has fought tooth and nail to take back the FTW Championship, and wants to know when Roderick Strong will challenge him and try to take his title from him.

The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) watch the next match from the stage.

Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher win the Tag Team Casino Gauntlet Match to face The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) for the AEW World Tag Team Championships at Grand Slam.
