Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 30, 1996

At the start of the show, Eric Bischoff is at the commentary table. Bischoff says that the war between WCW and nWo is about the history of the company that dates back to the beginning of the NWA in 1905. He calls the New World World "dirtbags" and calls bringing Hulk Hogan the worst mistake he has ever made in the five or six years he has been with the company. He says that he and the company have had enough of The New World Order's antics and that it's time for them to stop.

Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) retain the WCW World Tag Team Championships against Juventud Guerrera and El Technico. El Technico is put through a table by Public Enemy after the match, then Public Enemy leaves through the stands.

"Hacksaw" Jim Duggan hawks the "Where The Big Boys" T-Shirt...only $19.95 plus $5.95 shipping and handling!

Mike Tenay interviews "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael backstage. Despite not being scheduled to wrestle tonight, he makes it clear that if you see one of the Four Horsemen, you see them all. Debra McMichael reminds us that Mongo got his Super Bowl ring by being a team player. Benoit says Rick Steiner is a great wrestler with quite the reputation, but he plans to make a statement that The Four Horsemen are unparalleled, elite and perennial.

In another nWo announcement, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan has a boy in his lap as he announces that "Nasty Nick at Nite" has made a deal with his mom that allows him to stay up every night from 8 to 10 PM eastern for every "nWo Monday Nitro" from here on out. The New World Order celebrates in the penthouse suite of the Marriott Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio, as Ted DiBiase states that WCW is paying for this announcement because they lost at War Games. Scott Hall welcomes the stars of World Championship Wrestling back from Japan, and "Sting" is deemed the best impostor in professional wrestling. Kevin Nash asks "Isn't it funny that you never see Bill Marriott and H. Ross Perot in the same spot?" Syxx dials room service.

Dean Malenko heads to the ring with the mask he yanked off of Rey Mysterio's face when Mike Tenay interviews Rey on WCW Saturday Night.

Alex Wright beats Dean Malenko with a surprise cradle pin. During the match, it is announced that Sting is not here and that he has not been seen since deserting Lex Luger and WCW after recent events.

Mike Tenay interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage at the entrance ramp...almost. Savage doesn't show up, and Mike Tenay has no idea what's going on.

You can get a customized Slim Jim monster truck or a trip to Vegas you and three of your friends including tickets to Halloween Havoc in the Slim Jim Halloween Havoc sweepstakes. Just go to your local convenience store and look for the Slim Jim Snap 2 Win Sweepstakes display! We even see the WCW race car in Halloween Havoc colors, and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair nearly steals the scene.

Eddie Guerrero beats Jim Powers with a German suplex bridge pin despite Jim Powers getting the shoulders up just in time. During the match, U.S. Olympic Greco-Wrestling Silver medalist Matt Ghaffari is seen in the front row, referee Nick Patrick is now seen wearing a neck brace after being attacked by "Macho Man" Randy Savage over the weekend on WCW Saturday Night, and the nWo street team is seen carrying signs while moving around in the stands. After the match, Theodore Long argues that Power kicked up in time and that Eddie Guerrero's shoulders were also down during the pin, and Nick Patrick tells him to get the blue shirt and bowtie if he wants to question his authority when Teddy Long asks him if he needs to go back to wrestling school. Teddy Long takes that challenge.

The New World Order is watching Nitro when The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) show up to "talk business." Room service brings food, and Sags says that this is more than WCW ever did for them before making fun of Eric Bischoff.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) vs. The Four Horsemen ("The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael)! Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) vs Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock)! Jim Powers vs. Disco Inferno! Dean Malenko! Eddie Guerrero!

Mike Tenay interviews "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, Woman and Miss Elizabeth. Anderson and Woman question Miss Elizabeth about her actions last week on Nitro and Saturday Night, and Anderson says that if you're a Horseman, you're one all the way. Anderson says he has an opponent tonight as well as Lex Luger at Halloween Havoc, and Aderson tells Elizabeth that there is no gray area and that if you're a Horseman, you're a Horseman 100%.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Hugh Morrus beats Brad Armstrong.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Woman are still having problems with Miss Elizabeth backstage.

Eric Bischoff leaves the commentary table due to the tense situation, and to try to find out what hotel The New World Order is at. Tony Schiavone replaces Bischoff on commentary, and is behind Bischoff and what he is doing right now 100%.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Woman head to the ring without Miss Elizabeth. Miss Elizabeth is later spotted watching the match on a monitor backstage near the ring entrance.

"The Enforcer" Arn Anderson beats Chris Jericho.

Miss Elizabeth is seen leaving the arena alone.

Lex Luger beats V.K. Wallstreet (now known as Michael Wallstreet) with the Torture Rack.

Tony Schiavone gives a peace offering to Sting on behalf of World Championship Wrestling, and announces that the WCW Motorsports car is the Sting Motorsports Car. The car will be at the All-Pro Bumper-To-Bumper event in the Busch Grand National Series and will be driven by Elliot Sadler.

The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) beat The Rock 'n Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson) when Gibson is too focused on getting his hands on Jimmy Hart. During the match, Tony Schiavone announces that The New World Order are at the Marriott Hotel in Cleveland, Ohio. After the match, The Faces of Fear attack the Rock 'n Roll Express, and when Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) rush into the ring, The Faces of Fear work on the injured leg of Johnny Grunge.

At the Marriott Hotel in Cleveland, the Don Perignon is about to be delivered to The New World Order, and we learn that Kyle Petty really is driving the nWo car. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan says that he will beat "Macho Man" Randy Savage at Halloween Havoc.

Nick Patrick says that he doesn't see anyone else in WCW working hurt, and insists that he will be the law in the ring whenever he's around.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Rick Steiner after Steve "Mongo" McMichael blasts Steiner in the back with his briefcase.

Miss Elizabeth is in the Marriott Hotel penthouse suite with The New World Order as The Giant announces that he has done two movies, one of them with Arnold Schwarzenegger and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan tries to get Miss Elizabeth to join their side. Miss Elizabeth says that "everything has changed since this deal was made," then Vincent shows up with a gift box. Miss Elizabeth leaves, but she runs into "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who confronts her and thinks she has joined The New World Order, especially after seeing the piece of paper that she drops.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 30, 1996

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin bets Jake "The Snake" Roberts after Jerry "The King" Lawler distracts Roberts and spits Jim Beam into his face. Lawler raises Austin's hand in vicotry before joining Austin in beating up Roberts some more, but Savio Vega makes the save by chasing Lawler and Austin out of the ring with his leather strap.

We see Mankind digging into the ground, while Paul Bearer tells him that The Undertaker will be digging his own grave on October 20th.

We see "Diesel" and "Razor Ramon" in the locker room, and it becomes clear that these two men are not Kevin Nash and Scott Hall.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley calls out Mr. Perfect, issuing a challenge to him so he can show him what the New Generation is all about. He then guests on commentary for the next match.

The Godwinns (Henry O. and Phineas I. Godwinn) beat The Grimm Twins (Jared and Jason Grimm). During the match, we hear from Mr. Perfect, who says he loves a challenge and says none of the New Generation have offered him a challenge. He accepts Hunter Hearst Helmsley's challenge, and gives him a few weeks to "get in shape."

Dok Hendrix files a report on "Double J" Jeff Jarrett, where it is exposed that Double J not only lip-synched "With My Baby Tonight" at the second In Your House, he did not even sing on the record. It is revealed that Jarrett struck a secret deal with "the real Double J," but news of the scandal breaking forced Jarrett into hiding. We then find out that "the real Double J" is revealed to be none other than The Roadie - now known as Jesse James - as we see a snippet of the secret rehearsal tapes recorded prior to the second In Your House event from July 1995.

WWF President Gorilla Monsoon guests on commentary for the next match to question Jim Ross' intentions and the authenticity of "Razor Ramon." Jim Ross shoots his mouth off even more than he did last week, and it becomes apparent that Jim Ross is a very bitter man.

Savio Vega beats "Razor Ramon" by disqualification. During the match, we hear from Dok Hendrix, who says that he has seen "Diesel" with his own eyes and is attempting to get an interview with him. By the time he opens the door and looks inside, "Diesel" is gone. "Diesel" then shows up at ringside and interferes in the match. After the match, Savio Vega eats both a Razor's Edge and a Jackknife Power Bomb as "Diesel" and "Razor Ramon" are called "fakes" by the crowd.

The Undertaker says he know Paul Bearer would come and bring Mankind with him. He tells Mankind his wish is his command, and that he will dig his grave and bury him alive.

After the match, Vader goes for a second Vader Bomb, but Sycho Sid makes the save. Goldust runs in and double teams Sid, but Shawn goes after Goldust and the show ends with a tag team brawl.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 23, 1996

We see an ad The New World Order put in today's issue of USA Today, where the Nitro has "nWo" pasted over the WCW logo and the message "When WCW's away, the nWo will play!" next to it.

We see footage from earlier today where fans tear up New World Order flyers in protest of The New World Order's attempt at taking WCW over.

Mike Tenay guests on commentary for the next match.

The Taskmaster and Konnan beat Brad Armstrong and Juventud Guerrera, with Konnan doing all the work and Taskmaster getting the pinfall. The Taskmaster and Big Bubba beat up Konnan after the match, but it is soon revealed that this is a gang-style initiation into The Dungeon of Doom for Konnan. At the end of the match, the nWo street team shows up in the audience carrying nWo signs again.

Mike Tenay interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage backstage. Savage tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan that nothing he does will change the fact that he will take him down at Halloween Havoc. He says he was booked for Japan, too, but he got out of the tour to Japan to be at Nitro as it is not set in stone if Hogan will beat him up or if he will take down everyone in The New World Order tonight. He plans to wipe Hogan out at Halloween Havoc.

Chris Jericho reverses a power slam to beat Mike Enos.

Glacier quickly beats Pat Tanaka after taking all the fight out of Tanaka in an instant with a spinning roundhouse kick.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Brad Armstrong vs. Dean Malenko! Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) vs High Voltage (Rage and Khaos)! "Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Big Bubba!

Olympic Greco-Roman Wrestling Silver Medalist Matt Ghaffari of the United States is seen in the audience.

The New World Order ("Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, "Sting," Syxx, The Giant, Ted DiBiase) is seen outside of the arena.

In a surprise twist, Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) beat Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) with a small package turned onto its side to win the WCW World Tag Team Championships, much to the chagrin of both Col. Robert Parker and Sister Sherri.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage vs. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine ends when Savage hits Valentine with a steel chair and tosses the referee out of the ring just before The New World show up and attack Savage. Miss Elizabeth shows up from backstage, but runs back to the back. The Giant then introduces "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, who then attacks Savage himself before Kevin Nash mockingly whips Savage with a Slim Jim thrown into the ring. Hogan says he's used to Hollywood, but says the lights beaming off Savage's bald head are too much to bear and spray paints Savage's head black. Scott Hall and Kevin Nash run to the broadcast table and chase off Mike Tenay and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan before telling Eric Bischoff to do his job. The rest of The New World Order minus "Sting" and Hogan join in, and Scott Hall then introduces Ted DiBiase's head of security, Vincent - the man formerly known as Virgil in the World Wrestling Federation. Bischoff tries to get out of the booth, but The New World Order won't let him as they take over on commentary. It is announced during the match that Super Calo has dislocated his shoulder in a match that took place before the show and is headed to the hospital.

A new announcement for the New World Order shirt - paid for by The New World Order - is shown.

Scott Hall says The New World Order has taken over everything they've come across and says that they could take over the NBA, NFL or NASCAR if they could. A New World Order racing car shows up, and the driver is announced to be none other than Kyle Petty.

The Giant takes over as ring announcer for the rest of the show as well as the next match - Jim Powers vs. Michael Wallstreet - which doesn't happen with Scott Hall, Kevin Nash and Syxx decide to get a closer look at the match. By "get a closer look," they obviously mean beat up Jim Powers. Referee Randy Anderson decides he wants no part of this, and leaves the ring while referee Nick Patrick - who does referee duties for the rest of the show - takes his place. :Hollywood" Hulk Hogan tags the backstage area as The Giant hits Jim Powers with a choke slam. As The Giant ends up "the winner of the match," Hogan meets up with The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) and tells them he wants to "talk business" with them and ask them to head to his hotel suite, even going so far as to hand them the room key and ask them to wait for him there as well as take the World Heavyweight Championship to the suite with them.

Before the next match, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and Kevin Nash get Ron Studd's attention before his match against "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, but instead of potential membership, he gets beat up by Hogan and Nash. Syxx ends up being "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan's opponent instead.

Syxx beats "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan after The Giant hits a choke slam on Duggan outside of the ring while referee Nick Patrick is tending to Syxx. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, when asked what The New World Order wants, Hogan simply says "We want it all."

On the October issue of WCW Magazine: Randy Savage speaks out about "Hollywood' Hulk Hogan! The inside story on The New World Order, The Four Horsemen and The Dungeon of Doom! An exclusive interview with Glacier!

"Sting" (called "nWo Sting" on the broadcast) beats Beau LeDoux with the Scorpion Deathlock...and refuses to let go of the hold for some time. Hollywood Hogan says he will beat "Macho Man" Randy Savage up really bad at Halloween Havoc as he sneezes and tears up a Macho Man bandanna.

Before the next match - High Voltage (Ronnie Rage and Kenny Khaos) vs. The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet) - can begin, The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash) show up and take The Amazing French Canadians' place.

The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) beat High Voltage (Ronnie Rage and Kenny Khaos) in what Ted DiBiase deems "the first match of the nWo tag team title tournament."

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 23, 1996

We see screenshots of the footage of Razor Ramon and Diesel's return from last night.

Mr. Perfect guests on commentary for the next match, while Pat Patterson acts as special guest referee. We then see a tombstone in the middle of the aisle advertising the next In Your House.

Marc Mero beats Faarooq Asaad to become the WWF Intercontinental Championship after hitting Faarooq with Sunny's purse behind the referee's back - which is revealed by Sunny to contain a brick - and hitting the Wild Thing (the Shooting Star Press he debuted at SummerSlam). During the match, Kevin Kelly interviews Ahmed Johnson via telephone, and Ahmed says he's feeling a lot better and that he'll be back before we know it. He says Marc Mero is tough, but he's got to get tougher to beat Faarooq. When Jerry "The King" Lawler makes another Jake "The Snake" Roberts joke at Ahmed's expense, Ahmed tells him that he'll put him on his back when he comes back. Sunny is also tossed out of the match, having tried to interfere only to be caught by Sable. Also, Jim Ross announces that "Double J" Jeff Jarrett will be "exposed" tonight. Jim Ross then interviews Marc Mero, who thanks Jesus Christ, all his fans, Sable and Mr. Perfect for the victory. When Jim Ross asks "What about me?" Mero says "Jim, you're a great guy."

Razor Ramon and Diesel have their own locker room, signifying that they're here tonight...

"Wildman" Marc Mero, celebrates his Intercontinental Championship victory with all of the good guys in the locker room.

It is revealed that not only did Jeff Jarrett lip-sync "With My Baby Tonight" when he performed it at In Your House last summer, he didn't even record it. Next week, we learn about "The Real 'Double J'" who really sang on the record.

Clarence Mason guests on commentary for the next match amid accusations that Mason may have taken advantage of Jim Cornette and had him sign a contract at In Your House: Mind Games under duress.

Owen Hart and The British Bulldog beat The Bodydonnas (Skip and Zip) with the Sharpshooter. During the match, Taz from Extreme Championship Wrestling shows up holding an orange sign saying "Sabu Fears Taz" with the ECW logo on the bottom as Jim Ross makes fun of the company, stating that they wrestle in bingo halls. Jim Cornette is seen in the back, saying that the contract he signed was supposedly for him to represent him against Jose Lothario when he sues him for assault and battery, but instead it helped Clarence Mason hornswoggle him out of a tag team. He plans to get Mason disbarred before he gets revenge on Lothario himself. It is announced that Vader and Jim Cornette will take on "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Jose Lothario in a tag match, while Savio Vega will take on the returning Razor Ramon.

In a dark graveyard, The Undertaker says the wounds that he suffered at SummerSlam have just begun to heal, but there is one scar that he shall carry for all of eternity: the scar of betrayal. He tells Paul Bearer and Mankind that last night, they witnessed who truly is the master of the mind game. He tells Mankind he has condemned him to eternal damnation and that he is going to bury him alive, and that he will never rest in peace.

Dok Hendrix is standing outside the locker room of Razor Ramon and Diesel, attempting to get an interview, but they simply slam the door on him without even looking back and without even so much as a glimpse of their faces.

"Stone Cold" Steve Austin guests on commentary for the next match, as Jerry "The King" Lawler mentions that his artwork is on the cover of the upcoming Comedy magazine. .

On Option 6 of the WWF Superstar Line: Why did Diesel and Razor Ramon attack Savio Vega at In Your House: Mind Games?

The Stalker beats Hunter Hearst Helmsley after Mr. Perfect walks out with Helmsley's escort.

As Jim Ross gets in the ring, Paul Bearer tells Mankind that The Undertaker was the reason Mankind lost the WWF Championship, but they still have the power of his urn. Mankind tells The Undertaker will come to view last week as his greatest mistake, as he took something from him and made it personal. Mankind then plans to take something from The Undertaker in exchange: his last breath.

Jim Ross is still in the ring. Before he brings out Diesel and Razor Ramon, he tells the fans something he's wanted to tell them for a long time. He has no loyalty to the World Wrestling Federation and only loyalty to himself, as in 1993 he left the Atlanta Falcons for the WWF to be the primary play-by-play man of the company. He says he is "the best play-by-play man in the whole damn business." He jabs at the toga he has to wear at WrestleMania 9, and says he carried the broadcast from ringside at King of the Ring 1993. Unfortunately, he's no longer doing play-by-play because the "egotistical owner" of the WWF, Vince McMahon, couldn't stand the competition, and he disappeared. Then, on Super Bowl Sunday of 1994, he woke up with an affliction called Bell's palsy, which made the left side of his face look like he had a stroke and kept him from opening his eye on that side completely up, and Vince McMahon fired him over it on February 11th of that year. He was then called up to call Raw when McMahon was on trial for allegedly giving WWF Superstars steroids, and then was let go again. He was hired back again to work "fifty cents on the dollar" in the front office, and says the guys leaving the WWF as well as the guys entering the WWF is no accident. He then finally brings back Razor Ramon, but it becomes very quickly apparent that this is not Scott Hall. The show end with Savio Vega rushing into the ring and fighting the fake Razor.

In Your House 10: Mind Games - The Results

Savio Vega beats Marty Jannetty during the Free For All. During the match, Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw shows his disgust towards not being on a pay-per-view after nine months in the WWF and takes offense to Savio Vega being placed in a match over him (despite the fact that the Free-For-All match takes place before the pay-per-view and is given away for free on the Prevue Channel). Vince McMahon asks the fans not to mind the fans chanting for Extreme Championship Wrestling without mentioning ECW by name, even though he is glad they turned up for In Your House: Mind Games. (The event takes place in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where ECW is headquartered.) After the match, Uncle Zebekiah gets Vega's attention, and it proves to be a distraction that allows Bradshaw to nail Vega from behind with the cowbell and whip him with the bullrope.

Kevin Kelly interviews Savio Vega. Vega tells Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw - who was challenged to a match by Vega after the Free For All match, therefore granting his wish - if he wants to be in a pay-per-view match, he's got one, and it's a Caribbean Strap Match. Vega promises to whip Bradshaw's butt just before he comes to the ring. It doesn't take long for the fans to chant "ECW," and Vega is distracted and attacked by The Sandman, who is accompanied in the front row by Tommy Dreamer. Sandman and Dreamer, both from Extreme Championship Wrestling, are escorted out of the event by security and WWF officials.

Savio Vega beats Justin "Hawk" Bradshaw in a Caribbean Strap Match after touching all four corners under Bradshaw's nose.

As Jim Cornette head to the ring, Savio Vega is attacked backstage by two men who look like Diesel and Razor Ramon. Jim Cornette tells the crowd they get to see a real man in the ring for once, then calls Jose Lothario an old, broken down cripple and tells him he won't hurt him if be backs out while threatening to beat his brains out if he shows up.

Jose Lothario beats Jim Cornette.

Marc Mero, Sable, Sunny and Faarooq Asaad are on the WWF Superstar Line.

Brian Pillman shows up. Pillman says he's an honest man, then calls Philadelphia a hotbed of drug abuse, battered women and welfare recipients, telling people to look at everyone in the town if they want proof. He then brings out Owen Hart, who is no longer wearing the cast ever since it had been stomped on by "Wildman" Marc Mero last week. Pillman says that there is bad blood between Owen and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart, and thought everything was great between Owen and Bret. Owen says Bret is not the wrestler he once was and has called him the better Hart, and calls Bret's accusations of him and Brian lying uncalled for. Owen says that Bret is not here despite being scheduled to do so, and that is because Bret is scared of "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, who shows up. Austin says the whole world knew Bret wouldn't show up, and so did he, and that when Austin is in the house, Bret is at his house because he's scared of him. He says that Hart headed back home as soon as he showed up in WWF. He says he and Owen are a lot alike, except Owen cared what the fans thought about him and he doesn't. He tells Bret that if he comes back, they're going to get in the ring and Bret will get his ass whipped. Brian Pillman then tells the city of Philadelphia that it sucks.

We see footage of Mark Henry from earlier today out and about in the city of Philadelphia.

Dok Hendrix is in the first aid room with Jim Cornette and Clarence Mason. Cornette is in no condition to manage, and signs a legal document allowing Clarence Mason the privilege of managing Owen Hart and The British Bulldog. Also, Billy Gunn slowly walks to the ring with Sunny while on the way to the next match. When the giant poster of Sunny comes down, however, a wig, glasses and mustaches are drawn on her face, while the words "To Bulldog & Owen, All My Love, Sunny" are on the lower-right corner in white. Sunny is distraught. Clarence Mason shows up to manage Owen Hart and The British Bulldog soon afterward.

Owen Hart and The British Bulldog beat The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) to become the WWF Tag Team Champions after Sunny distracts Billy Gunn, causing Billy to go off on Bart and push him back into The British Bulldog when he whips Bart into the corner. After the match, Sunny becomes absolutely livid and calls them no-good cowboy wanna-bes before firing them for losing the tag team titles.

Kevin Kelly interviews Mankind and Paul Bearer in the boiler room of the arena. Paul Bearer declares that Mankind will become the next WWF Championship, and blames the Undertaker's fans for him betraying Undertaker. Mankind has misery and destiny in store for "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels, as he plans to make Shawn miserable and The Kliq suffer the pain he has suffered throughout his life. He says it is his destiny to destroy Shawn Michaels and take the WWF Championship from him.

Before the next match, Jerry "The King" Lawler tells the crowd he will give "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry the wrestling lesson of his life.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry beats Jerry "The King" Lawler with a backbreaker rack in his WWF in-ring debut. After the match, Mark Henry is attacked from behind by Leif Cassidy, but Mark Henry quickly overpowers him. Marty Jannetty rushes into the ring, too, but he fares no better. Hunter Hearst Helmsley shows up and gets a few shots in, but Mark Henry overpowers him, too, throwing him outside of the ring and into Cassidy and Jannetty.

In Your House: Buried Alive takes place on pay-per-view on October 20th, and already scheduled is an unsanctioned match between The Undertaker and Mankind where the loser is buried alive. The match is immediately called a Buried Alive Match.

The Undertaker beats Goldust in a Final Curtain Match.

Kevin Kelly interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. Shawn says that this is the first time he's been nervous defending the WWF Championship, as Mankind is "the wackiest cat the World Wrestling Federation has ever seen." Nevertheless, he's going to find a way to get the job done like he always does. As for whether or not Paul Bearer and Mankind have some sort of plot in mind, he has no idea how best to deal with them and will have to think on the job.

Mankind comes to the main event in the casket that was seen this weekend on Superstars.
"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels beats Mankind by disqualification and retains the WWF Championship after Vader interferes to attack Shawn. Sycho Sid drags Vader out of the ring and fights him, but Paul Bearer revives Mankind with the urn and Mankind applies the Mandible Claw to Shawn. Paul Bearer opens up the casket at Mankind's command, but when he does, The Undertaker is revealed to be inside, and he climbs out of the casket and tosses Manking out of the ring, chasing Mankind and Paul Bearer to the back.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 16, 1996

Jake Roberts chases Jerry "The King" Lawler to the back before the first match of the night. However, Lawler comes back with Bob Backlund, The Iron Sheik and...The Sultan, who is making his debut on Raw. (It is revealed when the match begins that The Sultan was captured in the Middle East and had his tongue cut out for refusing to talk while being interrogated by the enemy. In reality, this is Fatu in a mask.)

The Sultan beats Jake "The Snake" Roberts with the Camel Clutch after Jerry "The King" Lawler tosses a vial of alcohol into the ring, distracting Roberts.

Owen Hart and Brian Pillman hype up the interview with Bret "The Hit Man" Hart at In Your House: Mind Games. "Stone Cold" Steve Austin shows up and says he's going to get his answers as to when Hart is coming back.

Sunny unleashes a large poster of herself to give the gentlemen in the audience something "a little larger than life."

The new fall season is as follows: Blast Off is on Saturdays at 9 AM Eastern on WGN Channel 9. WWF Livewire is on Saturdays at 10 AM Eastern/9 AM Central on USA Network. Check your local listings for WWF Challenge, airing on weekends. Superstars is on USA Network on Sundays at 11 AM Eastern, 10 AM Central. Raw airs at 8:57 PM Eastern, 7:57 Central as usual on Monday nights on USA Network.

Bob "Spark Plug" Holly and Alex "The Pug" Porteau gets an upset win on The Smoking Gunns (Billy and Bart Gunn) after the distraction from Camp Cornette (Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Jim Cornette), as Owen celebrates early on the apron with a bottle of wine, allowing Porteau to roll up Billy Gunn with a schoolboy. During the match, Jim Ross reveals that Diesel and Razor Ramon are returning live on Raw next week. Also, Camp Cornette showed up to watch the match from up close and also ruin the match for the Gunns.

WWF President Gorilla Monsoon says his attention concerning the return of Diesel and Razor Ramon piqued. He says that Kevin Nash and Scott Hall will not be returning as they are currently under contract with another organization (making this the first time that Diesel and Razor Ramon's real names are uttered on WWF programming). He apologizes to everyone who feel they have been hoodwinked or misled by Jim Ross' statements, and says that he will remain in the studio for the rest of the program to make sure no other misleading statements made, and that he will invoke his presidential privilege to come down swiftly on the perpetrator if they are. (A metallic clang is heard as Monsoon is speaking, and it is revealed that Jim Ross has left the commentary table in disgust.) After Jim Ross leaves, we see that Jerry "The King" Lawler is interviewing Jim Cornette and Vader. Cornette says he has a lot on his plate, and finds it preposterous that the WWF put him in the ring with Jose Lothario. He says that Vader has taught him wrestling and how to unleash the beast in him so he can be ready for Lothario at In Your House: Mind Games. We then see a young competitor named Tony Williams, who will be Cornette's "partner" in his "public workout." He says that this will be the first time the crowd will see a real man like him in competition. We see Cornette do an arm bar and a headlock, but Tony Williams is able to keep up with him and reverse his moves, much to Lawler's chagrin. Tony Williams manages to make some headway with Cornette, however, and Cornette ties him up on the ropes before slapping and berating him.

Jim Ross is back on commentary for the next match, insisting he had no intention of hoodwinking or misleading anybody. Also, Pat Patterson guests on commentary for the next match as it is announced that Patterson will be special guest referee for the finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament that take place next week. WWF President Gorilla Monsoon also interjects himself into commentary during the match, saying that nothing has come across his desk concerning the return of Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as Jim Ross insists that Diesel and Razor Ramon will return next week and continues to stand by his story and his sources.

"Wildman" Marc Mero beats Owen Hart with his own cast behind the referee's back to continue to the finals of the Intercontinental Championship next week.

We see footage of the South African tour, as well as what could be Bret "The Hit Man" Hart's final performance in the WWF. We see footage of Hart calling Brian Pillman a liar, saying he made no commitment to have an interview with him at In Your House, and calls his brother Owen Hart as bad a liar as Owen, and tells Owen not to speak to him anymore. He says the fans are wondering how he's doing, and says he doesn't know exactly what it is he wants to do quite yet. It is then announced that Brian Pillman will be on Livewire to answer a lot of questions this Saturday on Livewire, which is premiering this weekend.

Faarooq Asaad beats Sycho Sid by disqualification when Faarooq Asaad attacks Sid with a chair as Sunny runs interference only for Sid to kick out, and Sid counters by grabbing the chair and smacking Faarooq Asaad with it in full view of the referee. Faarooq Asaad continues to the finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament next week. We see a message from Ahmed Johnson, where he tells Faarooq that he lit a forest fire after injuring him and that he will burn him up.

The Undertaker says he will never forget Goldust's name, as his name will be but the first of many to be destroyed on the way to Mankind and Paul Bearer. He tells Goldust this will be his final curtain and the premiere of the new Undertaker.

Paul Bearer tells "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels says he might be seeing him sweat from being in the boiler room, but Shawn will be sweating against Mankind at In Your House: Mind Games. Mankind ponders if taking the WWF Championship will make him a sexy boy, make the girls kiss him and whisper in his ear or if the women will run away in fear as he chokes himself with a rope.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 16, 1996

Tony Schiavone apologizes to Sting for thinking he actually joined The New World Order, saying that Sting was in Japan - and not at Nitro - at the time and that commentary should have known this. (The author is not making this statement up and wants to beat his head on the desk.)

Earlier tonight, the nWo street team handed out flyers stating "Bad just arrived. We're here to stay." to people entering the arena.

Rey Mysterio Jr. beats Juventud Guerrera. Just before the end of the match, the nWo street team is seen celebrating their win in War Games last night outside of the arena.

Mike Tenay interviews "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael and Debra McMichael. Mongo tells Lex Luger to get Sting and tell him to come back, and Debra tells Luger that he and Sting. Benoit says he and Mongo prophesied that Luger and Sting would not deliver at War Games, and tells them to prepare to pay the price.

We see a video package of Glacier, who explains that he trained in the martial arts in Japan, and that he met some of Japan's best wrestlers as he taught the martial arts himself. Now he has put martial arts and wrestling together to create a superior style. He also explains the symbols on his armor, which is reminiscent of gladiators throughout time.

Diamond Dallas Page beats Ice Train after DDP grabbed Theodore Long's towel and threw it into the ring, and referee Nick Patrick takes it as Long throwing in the towel on Ice Train's behalf. During the match, it is mentioned that "Mean" Gene Okerlund has disappeared, with Okerlund having not appeared at Fall Brawl. (In reality, Okerlund's contract with WCW had expired and Okerlund tried to get back into the World Wrestling Federation. The WWF would eventually turn him down and he would eventually return to WCW until it closed in 2001.) Also, the nWo street team block the WCW merchandise table, and the match ends as the camera is focused on them, so the viewers get no chance to see what happened. After the match, Ice Train tries to get his hands on Nick Patrick.

The 1-2-3 Kid is seen sitting in the front row.

Konnan retains the Mexican Heavyweight Championship (which is now represented by the AAA Americas Heavyweight Championship) against Super Calo.

Mike Tenay interviews The 1-2-3 Kid, who says he's trying to keep it incognito as he has a deal in Japan, and says that he tried to make it to last night's show but couldn't catch it in time.

This weekend on WCW Saturday Night: The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet)! Jim Powers! Rey Mysterio Jr!. The Taskmaster and Konnan in tag team action!

Brad Armstrong beats Hugh Morrus after reversing a very lazy pin following No Laughing Matter. Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

Mike Tenay interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage. Savage tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan it will get scary at Halloween Havoc as he's down to one marble and he has nothing left to lose taking the WCW World Heavyweight Championship from him. Not long after Savage enters the ring, we see The New World Order (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, "Sting," Ted DiBiase) celebrate in front of the limousine outside of the arena. Kevin Nash says there's nobody left in WCW to beat up.

Scott "Flash" Norton beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage after Savage attacks him with a chair. Referee Nick Patrick tries to stop Savage, but Savage simply tosses him to the floor.

Glacier beats Big Bubba in his Nitro debut.

The real Sting shows up. He explains that last Monday night, he turned on Nitro and saw everyone - fans, wrestlers, commentators - doubt him. It is noticed by commentary that Sting is not looking into the camera like he normally does, and is instead staring right at the fans in the front row. On Saturday night, he saw more of the same as he stayed in seclusion. At Fall Brawl, he told Lex Luger it wasn't him and was again doubted. He says he's been mediator and babysitter for Luger so many times in the last year, and he has carried the WCW banner and given blood, sweat and tears for WCW. He tells those that never doubted him that he will stand by them if they stand by him. For those that did, they can stick it. From now on, he considers himself a free agent, but that doesn't mean he's gone. Instead, he's going to pop up when we least expect it. The commentary team wonders if Sting will still be here tonight. Chris Jericho and Marcus Bagwell come out for the next match - a tag team match - but when "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair's music plays, Flair is nowhere to be seen. Backstage, Miss Elizabeth is still shaken after the events of War Games from last week, and is scared that The New World Order may be here. She stays behind as Woman tags along solo with Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson. Before the match happens, The 1-2-3 Kid stands up on his seat, produces a remote control and presses a button. New World Order flyers fall from the roof of the arena as the nWo street team walk around carrying signs, and The 1-2-3 Kid is confirmed as the sixth man of The New World Order.

After the break, it is revealed that the nWo flyers have varying messages on them, such as "We beat you...now you pay all the bills" and "Now we do TV our way." Eric Bischoff states that he was forced by the New World Order to agree to give the New World Order their own show in order for War Games to happen last night, and now that the nWo has won, he has to do it.

The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson) beat Marcus Bagwell and Chris Jericho by pinfall during the Figure Four Leg Lock after Woman rakes Bagwell's eyes as referee Nick Patrick isn't looking. During the match, it is revealed that The 1-2-3 Kid is officially part of The New World Order as everyone else celebrates. The Giant plays something with a boombox, and it happens to be the the same message about trust that was heard when Sting was suspected to be a member of The New World Order, just before Lex Luger was attacked by the fake Sting. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan declares that Sting has been stung.

Before the main event, it is revealed via director Craig Leathers that Sting is no longer in the building. Lex Luger has to face "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichael alone.

Lex Luger vs. "The Crippler" Chris Benoit and Steve "Mongo" McMichaels ends when "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson interfere in the match as Luger has Benoit in the Tourture Rack. Luger is able to fight everyone off for a while, but the numbers game quickly catches up with him. We then find out that The 1-2-3 Kid is officially known as "Syxx," and we then see The New World Order in their limousine watching the show from inside. Now that it has been revealed during the match by Eric Bischoff that a lot of WCW Superstars are heading to Japan next week and "Macho Man" Randy Savage is staying behind - much to the displeasure of Mike Tenay and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan - Savage is their next target.

Ice Train beats Scott "Flash" Norton in a submission match with a Full Nelson thanks to the distraction from Theodore Long.

Mike Tenay guests on commentary for the next match as Juventud Guerrera trips on the steel steps during his entrance.

Konnan retains the Mexican Heavyweight Championship against Juventud Guerrera.

"The Crippler" Chris Benoit beats Chris Jericho.

Rey Mysterio Jr. retains the WCW Cruiserweight Championship against Super Calo after bouncing off the top rope of both rings before hitting a hurricanrana on him.

The WCW Fall Brawl T-shirt is available now for only $19.95 with $5.95 shipping and handling.

Mike Tenay interviews "Macho Man" Randy Savage, who plans to come to the plate and hit a home run against The Giant tonight, then head to Halloween Havoc and beat "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. He hopes to cut The Giant in half and send a message to The New World Order.

The Giant beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage after "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan leads Savage into an ambush from him, Hall and Nash and referee Nick Patrick is too busy checking on The Giant.

Halloween Havoc comes to pay-per-view on October 27th!

Mike Tenay interviews "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and Lex Luger. Flair says Sting will not be replaced, and they will face The New World Order with or without him. All of a sudden, Sting shows up and Luger tells Sting to explain himself. Sting says that was not him in the limo, but Luger doesn't believe him. Sting tells Luger that if he doesn't believe him, then so be it. He'll see him in the ring in a while.

Before the War Games match, we learn that Hall and Nash's full names are Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, respectively. Also, the coin toss to decide the one-man advantage has to be held in the back to keep both sides separated. The New World Order wins the one-man advantage.

Near the end of the War Games match, Sting arrives for The New World Order...and World Championship Wrestling. It becomes apparent that Sting told the truth to his team, and there are now two Stings. The real Sting fights the opposition, then tells Luger "Is that good enough for ya?" before telling Luger to stick it and leaving the match. Not long afterwards, The New World Order (Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, Fake Sting) beats Lex Luger, Sting, "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson with a Scorpion Death Lock on Luger as Hogan chokes Luger. After the match, The New World Order continues to attack Luger, and "Macho Man" Randy Savage goes after Hogan only to be attacked from behind by The Giant. Miss Elizabeth shows up, trying to cover Savage to protect him. Elizabeth gets spray painted in Savage's stead, then Hogan demands and gets a microphone, and make fun of Savage and Elizabeth's former marriage before spitting on the latter. After a victory pose, they spray paint the back of Savage and attack him, and referee Randy Anderson gets pushed to the ground trying to protect Miss Elizabeth. The show ends with The New World Order taking over the commentary table and Savage being helped to the back by Miss Elizabeth and a member of medical staff.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 9, 1996

Super Calo beats Pat Tanaka in his Nitro debut by reversing a top rope superplex into a pinfall. During the match, an nWo street team with stacks of flyers is seen outside of the arena.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Rick Steiner backstage. Steiner is convinced he had Lex Luger beaten even though their match last week never started, and Lex Luger says he's focused this week in singles competition with him tonight as he's ready for War Games, which is good for him and bad for Rick. Rick Steiner is confused as to what is going on the entire time.

In another announcement paid for by the New World Order, Hall, Nash and The Giant hawk the official New World Order T-shirt, with all proceeds going to "The Ric Flair Retirement Fund."

Before the next match, The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet) sing "O Canada," much to the dismay of the crowd. The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) cut their rendition of the Canadian national anthem short. Soon after the match begins, the nWo street team is seen handing out flyers to the crowd, which all say "You haven't seen bad...but it's coming!"

The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs) beat The Amazing French Canadians (Jacques Rougeau and Carl Ouellet) after Knobbs hits Rougeau with the Quebec flag as the latter goes to the top rope. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Nasty Boys after the match, Sags says that Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) and the tag team titles are all they are concerned about right now. Knobbs says that they're in WCW, and they want the tag team titles and they're coming to get them.

Scott "Flash" Norton beats Sgt. Craig "Pitbull" Pittman after Ice Train shows up and throws in the towel in Pittman's stead. Ice Train and Norton stare down after the match.

"Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Lex Luger, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson and "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair. Flair confronts Luger, asking where Sting is. Luger says Sting is here. Flair then tells The New World Order (Hall, Nash, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Giant) that the show is on next Sunday. Steve "Mongo" McMichael and "The Crippler" Chris Benoit show up, and they are convinced from Sting's absence that they're going to lose. Lex Luger says Sting is in the building. "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson says he's already booked a hospital room in Winston-Salem, as he knows everyone on their team is going to get hurt. He also tells "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan that he should have used battery acid instead of a bat on him, as he came back from a trip to the hospital to confront him the very next week.

Juventud Guerrera beats Joe Gomez. After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews referee Nick Patrick about the disqualification during last week's match between The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) and the team of Sting and Lex Luger. Patrick insists Luger intentionally hit him due to a vendetta against him from "all the lies [Okerlund's] been spreading about me" and asks why Luger hasn't been suspended from WCW. Okerlund says that Patrick has been in too many controversial calls for this to be coincidence, but Patrick says that Okerlund is stirring the pot and that the fans are pointing fingers at him, and insists that he is WCW all the way. After the interview, we see that The New World Order (Hall, Nash, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Giant) are posting nWo flyers on cars in the parking lot as it rains outside while Ted DiBiase is talking to someone who is inside the limousine, raising the possibility of a sixth man in the nWo.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Diamond Dallas Page vs. "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan! Rick Steiner vs. Kurasawa! Lex Luger! Scott "Flash" Norton! "The Crippler" Chris Benoit! The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs)!

Rick Steiner beats Lex Luger by count-out. During the match, pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour. Also during the match, referee Nick Patrick motions Luger to the back, telling him that something has happened to Sting out back. We find out that Sting is talking to Ted DiBiase (even though it's obviously a recording), and when Lex Luger asks where Sting is, Sting comes out of the limo in black and white and attacks Luger along with the rest of The New World Order (DiBiase, Hall, Nash, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan). Luger plays possum as the chauffeur picks Luger up and Luger throws him, but when he does, everyone else flees.

Lex Luger and some of the men from WCW check one of the New World Order limousines, but only find a box with some cans of spray paint.

Rey Mysterio Jr. retains the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship against Billy Kidman.

The Faces of Fear (Meng and The Barbarian) vs. Public Enemy (Johnny Grunge and "Flyboy" Rocco Rock) ends with a victory via disqualification for The Faces of Fear after the match goes out of control. During the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) and Lex Luger. Anderson is shocked with the recent turn of events concerning Sting, considering that Sting has been the only constant in the last ten years. Luger can't even give answers to Anderson, but he wants in on War Games even more and heads out of the building to find answer from Sting. Flair says the confusion is over, and tells The New World Order (Hall, Nash, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan, The Giant, Sting) that they're going to town on Sunday. Anderson says this will be a fight to the death - the nWo's, not theirs. After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews The Dungeon of Doom (Jimmy Hart, The Taskmaster, Big Bubba, Meng, Barbarian, Hugh MOrrus, Maxx, Konnan). Jimmy Hart is sick of everyone getting in his face concerning The Giant, and says when The Giant turned traitor and joined The New World Order, it was the beginning of the end for him and he just didn't know it yet. Big Bubba still wants to know if Glacier is going to show up and get a piece of him. Konnan is tired of the nWo and their public service announcements, and challenge them to come to the ring right now. The Taskmaster tells "Macho Man" Randy Savage to do them a favor and clear his debt with them by taking out John Tenta if he feels he owes them a debt for helping him to the back last week, and to watch his back at War Games. He also says you can't trust anyone around here, and if Sting will turn, who else will?

We see another paid announcement from The New World Order. They brag about the money they have and the fact that they have the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. DiBiase also has plans for the nWo: time on the WCW's programming as well as an "nWo tag team tournament" with "nWo Tag Team Championships."

John Tenta beats "Macho Man" Randy Savage by count-out after Theodore Long asks "Macho Man" Randy Savage to come to the back, saying that The New World Order are back. Savage joins The Four Horsemen and other WCW wrestlers and search one of the limousines, but once again finds an box of spray paint. Despite all the rain, the WCW wrestlers spray paint "WCW" on the abandoned limo with the yellow spray paint. As Eric Bischoff speaks, The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) show up. Anderson calls out Hogan for turning his back on WCW and turning Sting against the company and promises to take Sting's head off. Flair tells Hogan that he will not leave town alive after War Games.

As Sunny brags about what Faarooq will do in the semi-finals, Sycho Sid shows up and stares down with Faarooq, but officials keep both men from going at it with one another.

Carlos Sabrera from the Spanish commentary table interviews "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and Jose Lothario in the ring. Michaels says that he has single-handedly dismantled everyone in Camp Cornette (Jim Cornette, Owen Hart, The British Bulldog, Vader) except for Cornette, and at In Your House: Mind Games, he's sending Jose Lothario to clean his clock as "The Heartbreak Kid don't beat on women." Lothario says it's personal between him and Cornette, and he plans to kick his butt like nobody has before. Shawn tells Mankind that he has run roughshod through the WWF until now, and while he never is the biggest or the strongest, he has more guts than brain and he plans to put a stop to Mankind at In Your House. He also tells Mankind and Paul Bearer that The Undertaker will find them and bury them both, but in the meantime, he tells Mankind not to hunt what he can't kill, as he won't be his mother or his friend, but he will be his daddy. Ahmed Johnson says that he's a little better, but he's not as good as he was before. There is still a chance that he can come back 100%.

Brian Pillman guests on commentary for the next match. Pillman says he has a big announcement concerning Bret "The Hitman" Hart's return, and that he will interview him at In Your House: Mind Games. He also says that Bret Hart and his brother Owen Hart have allegedly reconciled.

"Wildman" Marc Mero beats "Stone Cold" Steve Austin by disqualification after Austin strikes the referee. Mero goes on to the semi-finals of the Intercontinental Championship Tournament, but not before both men brawl.

It's time for The King's Court. Jerry "The King" Lawler's guest tonight is "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry. Lawler makes fun of Jake "The Snake" Roberts, saying he "got bombed" just like the recent Atlanta Olympics. It is announced that Mark Henry has signed a contract with the World Wrestling Federation, and that he has made a lot of people made despite not having had his debut match yet. He says Lawler made Lawler mad as well as Jake Roberts, as Roberts wasn't finished with the Jim Beam Lawler was forcing down his throat. He then mentions Henry getting in Vader's face, and asks if Henry is crazy. Mark Henry says he's not crazy at all, and tells Lawler he doesn't like him or Vader very much, and that there are people in the WWF he doesn't particularly care for. Lawler challenges Henry to a match, and Henry is game. Henry says he hasn't gotten the proper work put in, and he knows when to lift and he knows when to wrestle, and that there will be a day. Lawler tells Henry he should have won a gold medal in cowardice, and Henry grabs Lawler by the collar and tells him he's got a match, and when he's done, Lawler will get a gold medal butt kicking.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels retains the WWF Championship against Goldust after reversing the Curtain Call and beating Goldust with the moonsault from the top rope like he did against Vader at SummerSlam. During the match, Mankind watches Shawn defend the title against Goldust from a distance, saying he has a surprise for Shawn. After the match, Mankind rushes into the ring from the crowd and tries to double-team Shawn along with Goldust, but Shawn Michaels quickly flees as Paul Bearer joins Mankind.

Nitro-Glycerin - Monday Nitro recap for September 2, 1996

Diamond Dallas Page beats "Das Wunderkind" Alex Wright. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews referee Nick Patrick, and once again Patrick accuses Okerlund of stirring the pot. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Col. Robert Parker and Sister Sherri. As he says that Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) are on their own tonight, Parker has brought Sherri some presents: a black leather vest and black leather riding pants, as Sherri is going to spend some time down South with him at his place.

Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) beat Greg "The Hammer" Valentine and Buddy Valentino. Soon after it is announced that this match is the debut of new WCW referee Mark Curtis, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase shows up and walks to an empty seat in the front row. During the match, it is announced that Mike Tenay will join Eric Bischoff and Bobby "The Brain" Heenan at the commentary table during the second hour of Nitro each and every week starting tonight. "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Harlem Heat after the match, and they are ready for The Nasty Boys (Jerry Sags and Brian Knobbs), saying they finished them a long time ago and that they have no idea what caused them to want to face them again. They are suddenly attacked by The Nasty Boys, and Booker T is hit with a double-team spike piledriver.

Chris Jericho beats Dean Malenko. During the match, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase leaves, a departure from last week where he stayed in the front row for the whole show.

We take a closer look at Rey Mysterio Jr. and Super Calo prior to their Cruiserweight title match at Fall Brawl.

This Saturday on WCW Saturday Night: Steve "Mongo" McMichael vs. John Tenta! "Squire" David Taylor takes on "Earl" Robert Eaton! Chris Jericho! "Macho Man" Randy Savage!

The Giant beats Brad Armstrong. During the match, a limousine is shown parking outside of the arena.

We see another announcement paid for by The New World Order. "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan brags about how he, Nash and Hall no longer have to hide in the shadows to do anything they want, and says WCW will fall at their feet. He says that they will be victorious in War Games at Fall Brawl, and calls Sting and Lex Luger's partnering up with "The Nature Boy" and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson "weak" and says times have changed.

Pyrotechnics signal the start of the second hour.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage beats Big Ron Studd. During the match, Hall, Nash and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan are seen coming out of the limousine outside of the arena, and they quickly get the cameraman out of their sight after telling an unknown person to stay in the limo. After the match, "Mean" Gene Okerlund interviews Savage, who wishes Halloween Havoc was tonight as he guarantees to Okerlund and the fans that he is going to beat "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan and take everything he wants as that makes him happy. He's living on the edge, and if anyone else isn't, they're "takin' up too much room." He tells The Giant they made a deal and he broke his promise, and now he takes over. He guarantees victory against The Giant and against Hogan, and says both men will melt when the heat of the Macho Man brings them all the way down.

The Steiner Brothers (Rick and Scott Steiner) beat Sting and Lex Luger when Rick Steiner accidentally pushes Luger into referee Nick Patrick, who takes it as Luger "striking a WCW official" and calls for the disqualification. All four men are absolutely livid, and Sting and Luger chase Nick Patrick to the back. During the match, The Four Horsemen surround the limousine, but find out that Hall, Nash and "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan are in the arena as soon as they discover the limousine is empty.

The Four Horsemen ("The Nature Boy" Ric Flair, "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson, "The Crippler" Chris Benoit, Steve "Mongo" McMichael) beats The Dungeon of Doom (The Taskmaster, Meng, The Barbarian, Big Bubba) with a Figure Four Leg Lock on The Taskmaster after Woman gives Flair the assist. During the match, Sting and Lex Luger continue to chase Nick Patrick all the way to the limo. Patrick takes a right, but Sting and Luger see "The Million Dollar Man" inside the limo, outing him as "the fourth man." Sting throws a cement block into a back window and tries to get him out with help from Luger, but the limousine speeds off, leading Sting and Luger to steal a nearby police car and chase after the speeding limo with it. The nearby police officer (who gives no effort to keep them from stealing the car, by the way) puts out an APB on the limo. After the match, The New World Order (Hall, Nash, "Hollywood" Hulk Hogan) show up and attack everyone. The Giant shows up, but instead of making the save for The Dungeon of Doom, he hits Meng and The Barbarian with the choke slam, revealing The Giant as the other mystery man The New World Order has mentioned and causing him to turn heel as a result. "Macho Man" Randy Savage tries to attack everyone in the nWo with a steel chair, but he quickly falls to the numbers game. Hogan spray paints a yellow streak down Savage's back after the beatdown. The New World Order then take over the broadcast booth again, and Hogan says there are more than five men. The Giant says that Ted DiBiase gave him a ton of money to join The New World Order after he saw multiple Harley-Davidson motorcyles and Mercedes-Benz automobiles in DiBiase's mansion as he and the rest of the nWo spit on the Monday Nitro logo that hung on the broadcast table. Before The Giant can finish, the WCW locker room goes after the nWo, but the nWo finish them off. The show ends with the nWo completely destroying the broadcast booth and a shot of The Dungeon of Doom helping Savage to the back.
