Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 27, 2019

Adam Cole shows up to start tonight's show. The NXT Championship is seen on a table in the center of the ring. Cole states that he outlasted four of NXT's very best last week and earned the right to face Johnny Gargano for the vacant NXT Championship, and while he could give a million reasons for why he will be champion, he wants Gargano to come to the ring. Gargano shows up and meets Cole in the ring, and sits on the top turnbuckle as dueling fan chants fill the arena. The chants end after Cole yells that he needs no support and can win the title on his own and Gargano states that he loves the chants. Gargano then demands Cole list off all the reasons that Cole knows he will beat him, then demands the fans get their cameras out as NXT history is being made because Cole is at a loss for words. He then asks Cole if he knows that he is in the fight of his life, as Gargano states that his path ends at the NXT Championship and that his path goes through Cole, who will find out why he is called "Johnny Takeover." Cole is interrupted by "Johnny Takeover," then implies that the nickname does not intimidate him as Gargano has not been in the winner's circle at TakeOver and that "Johnny Participation" is more fitting. He states that Gargano cannot beat him in one fall, much less two, because he become the first-ever North American Champion, first-ever War Games Match winner and winner of his debut match all at TakeOver events, and plans to repeat history with a NXT title win. Cole claims that he earned all of his accolades, and asks what Gargano has done to earn a championship match. Gargano admits he didn't get the red carpet rolled out for him like Cole did, and that he was initially told he wasn't good enough to be in NXT. He talks about how he fought for his one chance - which he got in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic while thrown into a tag team with Tommaso Ciampa - and fought for his life alongside Ciampa to make it. After the tournament, a month passed with no response, but he was suddenly invited back again and again, because every time he showed up, he poured his heart out in the ring and fought so hard that the fans chanted for him. The louder they chanted, the harder he fought for a chance in NXT, as the fans fought for him and he fought for them back to defy the odds and earn his NXT contract and all of his accolades here. Gargano states he earned everything he could here because NXT is his life, and that he was not "handed a top spot in a group of cronies who fought for [him] since day one," and he would not change a thing. He then states he will fight to make his dream come true, fulfill his destiny and finally become NXT Champion. Cole leaves, then turns back and tells Gargano that he can fight all he wants, but he will become the NXT Champion in the end because the win will not be definitive according to WWE CEO and NXT founder Triple H, but undisputed as Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong stand at the top of the ramp.

After the match, Velveteen Dream interrupts the ring announcer to congratulate Riddle on his win and acknowledge him as his challenger at NXT TakeOver: New York. After the match, Velveteen Dream interrupts the ring announcer to congratulate Riddle on his win and acknowledge him as his challenger at NXT TakeOver: New York. Aleister Black and Ricochet beat The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler) to win the 2019 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic and face War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) for the NXT Tag Team Championships at NXT TakeOver: War Games. Afterwards, he couldn't help but notice "The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks play the hero and "imitate British wrestling." Aichner says they are hear to change NXT UK, and if they have to bring down "The Lucky Yin" Kenny William and Amir Jordan, so be it. Barthel says there is more to NXT UK than the fans think to the point that he considers NXT UK sacred.

Mark Andrews vs. Noam Dar ends in a no-contest when neither man can continue. During the match, one of Andrews' knees is injured following a knee bar shortly after being tossed into steel steps on the outside, and when he goes for a reverse hurricanrana, he slips and Dar's knee is potential re-injured. Both Mark Andrews and Noam Dar are helped to the back by medical staff, and both men give two thumbs up before being carried to the backstage area.

Dunne tells Walter he doesn't have to say anything, as it is not just the fans who want this match, for he wants the match as well. He claims that Walter will know what everyone else has known for the past 674 days: that NXT UK belongs to him and that the WWE United Kingdom Championship is and always will be his. He then signs the contract. As Dunne walks away, Walter addresses him on the microphone, and says something to him in German before saying he could put him through the table in the ring right now if he wanted to, but he does not need to do that to prove his point. He tells Dunne his time is up, and in New York City, the reign of the Bruiserweight will end, for the title is his.

Big E says he and Xavier spoke, and announces that after the obstacles placed in Kofi's way, they have considered walking away. Despite doing so much in WWE, Xavier says it has been hard to watch how Kofi has been treated for the past 11 years, much less recently. Big E says "power of positivity" is not just a catchphrase, as Kofi exudes positivity and has never quit. Xavier says they need to make a decision, but they cannot make it until they get answers, and the person with the answers is WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. He - and The New Day - ask Vince to come to the ring so they can talk face-to-face with the issues they have at hand, and they have problem waiting in the ring until he does show up. Vince shows up, but before he can say anything, Daniel Bryan and Rowan show up and interrupt the proceedings, with Daniel telling Vince not to waste another breath on The New Day and let them quit. He calls The New Day "a stale novelty act," and if Vince wants to create another one, they can pick three people from NXT, call them "Fresh Afternoon," have them throw waffles into the crowd and have them become more popular than The New Day as Kofi is a "B+ player." He says that Kofi lost the last three times they faced off and to not let Xavier Woods and Big E get in their heads, and that Vince's instincts that Kofi is not "championship material" is correct and that the fans are wrong and refuse to accept that reality. Xavier says the real reality is that Daniel Bryan is scared to face Kofi Kingston one-on-one and that he has turned not only into everything he used to fight against, but into a hypocrite. Vince tells Daniel Bryan to shut up, then tells The New Day there is not a bone in their body that will tell them to quit due to the power of positivity, and that they were never going to quit in the first place. Vince admits that he views Kofi as a B+ player, but wants to know if Big E and Xavier Woods are a "B+ tag team" due to their passion and respect for Kofi, and asks if they can put Kofi Kingston in the WWE Championship. Vince tells Kofi he has run out of opportunities, but if Xavier Woods and Big E can win in a tag team gauntlet match tonight, Kofi can still be in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania.

He claims that Shane lit a fire under him that he didn't know he had despite being in WWE for thirteen years when he attacked him and made it personal when he put his hands on his father. He wants to make sure everyone sees him destroy Shane up close and personal in a Falls Count Anywhere Match at WrestleMania, and he wants to take Shane all over the arena and show him everything he can do to him. Suddenly, security shows up and blocks the ramp. After they show up, Shane McMahon shows up with a few WWE Superstars - Shelton Benjamin, Primo Colon, Eric Young, Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe - who stand in front of Shane, who demands ring announcer give him the introduction he was instructed with some conviction (which Hamilton does). He then states the security is for Miz's benefit and to protect Miz from him, and says one of the things that went through his mind regarding the Falls Count Anywhere stipulation is that Miz is as dumb as his father looks. As he puts a still image of himself putting his hands on Miz's dad on the TitanTron, he admits that he watches the footage of himself attacking Miz's dad over and over again and that it makes him feel better and better the more he watches it. Shane also gloats about how he paralyzed Miz's father with fear at Fastlane, and says that the feeling he got from that was absolutely euphoric. He then announces he plans to beat Miz all over the arena at WrestleMania as he accepts his challenge. He then says his only regret is that he did not do more harm to Miz's father and punish him for impregnating his mother and creating his "greatest Miz-take in life." Miz charges out of the ring and fights off security. After fighting off security, he battles the WWE Superstars. He is briefly overpowered, but not for long. Shane slowly backs off as Miz comes out on top as he takes the brawl into the crowd and comes out on top.

When The Usos show up, they take the microphone and says they have fought wars against The New Day and that Kofi Kingston is worthy of an opportunity for the WWE Championship Match. They announce that Kofi has earned respect from them, the locker room and the fans. With that, The Usos wish Big E and Xavier Woods luck, for they officially forfeit. The Usos then leave. "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan are seen fuming in the locker room while throwing steel chairs. Afterwards, Big E and Xavier Woods are checked on by medical staff before it is announced that they must face one more team: "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan. The match ends with Big E toppling the announce table on top of Rowan to beat Daniel Bryan and Rowan by count-out. Kofi Kingston celebrates with Woods and Big E after the match. After the match, Kayla Braxton interviews WWE Chairman Vince McMahon confirms that Kofi Kingston is going to WrestleMania, and asks if Kofi can beat Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship before leaving in his limousine. Alexa brings out Strowman, and reminds Strowman of what he has done when his temper has gotten the better of him before asking what would happen if Colin Jost and Michael Che were to "get these hands." Strowman says that when he saw the car that Jost gifted him, all he thought about was smashing Jost's "pasty" face. Colin Jost and Michael Che are then introduced live via satellite on the TitanTron. Jost says he has learned his lesson, and says that instead of wearing a New York Mets hat, he will wear a New York Yankees hat. Michael says he respects Strowman, but says Strowman crossed a line by getting physical with Jost. Jost says he was being sincere when he put in his Twitter bio that he wanted to be Strowman's mentor, and says there are a few things he can teach a monster like Strowman, like chewing food and doing taxes. Jost then makes fun of Strowman's size before asking if they can handle this like adults, and asks if Strowman has ever considered therapy before asking Strowman to pay him back the value of the car - plus interest - and get him Brock Lesnar's autograph. Jost then makes fun of Strowman's size before asking if they can handle this like adults, and asks if Strowman has ever considered therapy before asking Strowman to pay him back the value of the car - plus interest - and get him Brock Lesnar's autograph. Michael Che accepts on Jost's behalf, saying the chances of something bad happening to Jost will be slightly less. Jost, not wanting to be thrown under the bus, says that Michael Che will be in the battle royal with him too. Strowman asks Alexa Bliss to make it official, and after Alexa initially says she doesn't want to sacrifice two great talents, she makes it official.

We hear from Elias in New York City again, and this time, Elias is in front of Madison Square Garden. Next week: Becky Lynch, "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair vs. The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan)!

Seth Rollins shows up. Rollins says he and Brock Lesnar are not cut from the same cloth, and the two roads they are taking to WrestleMania could not be any different. However, there is only one road out, and it will be forged by whoever is WWE Universal Champion after their match. He admits this is a heavy burden, but he wants to carry that burden so he can become a champion who inspires people. He claims that Lesnar does not inspire people and that this match is the biggest of his career, but he did not realize until now how big it was to the fans. During a recent autograph session, every fan asked him to beat Brock Lesnar before they left the autograph table, and now he feels he has no choice but to beat Lesnar as he refuses to let Lesnar be the champion who defines the future of the industry. At WrestleMania, he will get in the ring with Lesnar with an army behind him that will make him unstoppable, and he and the fans will march through the gates of Suplex City and burn it down. Before Rollins can finish his sentence, Paul Heyman shows up and thanks Rollins for letting him know that the match at WrestleMania is now a handicap match. Heyman says he likes the odds, as the odds of Rollins winning are zero and that he is leaning on the fans for "thoughts and prayers" as the fans fail with him. He also says Rollins needs thoughts and prayers as Rollins does not have a thought in his head and not a prayer in doing so, and tells Rollins to take it personally when he and the fans lose at WrestleMania. Rollins chases Heyman up the ramp, and Heyman rolls on the stage before begging for mercy. Rollins tells Heyman he's not here to ask for prayers; instead, he's here to answer them when he takes the Universal title.

Before the next match, Samoa Joe asks Kurt Angle to forgive him, as he has forgotten his bouquet of flowers and he is not a sentimental person. He then says it will be a cold day on the wrong side of the aftermath before he lets him ride off into the sunset. He says that everyone is getting ready for WrestleMania, and he plans to do just that by putting Angle to sleep one last time.

Kurt Angle beats Samoa Joe after pinning Joe to the match by rolling to the side in order to counter the Coaquina Clutch.

He congratulates Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey on being the main event of this year's WrestleMania, as well as every woman who has stepped through the ropes of a WWE ring. He then pulls out a letter from Batista's lawyer, which states that Batista will not be competing at WrestleMania unless he agrees to one more stipulation. After making fun of Batista's belief that Evolution did nothing for his career and that he quit due to Triple H, he then reveals the stipulation after making a reference to The Spice Girls' "Wannabe": if Batista wins, Triple H can never compete in a WWE ring again. Triple H vows to make sure Batista stands up to his commitment and make him show up, and says the only obsession he has regarding Batista is kicking his ass. He also says that if he cannot beat Batista, he has no business being in the ring anyway. Triple H then tells Batista that if he wants his career on the line, he's got it.

We hear from Elias, who is now standing next to an open guitar case full of dollar bills. Some guy walks up and steals some of the money, but Elias says he will make a lot more money at WrestleMania, where WWE will definitely stand for "Walk With Elias." The guy who stole some of Elias' money then comes back and steals the guitar case as Elias plays his guitar.

He announces that the dream has been put on hold for Ciampa, as Ciampa has required neck surgery and has been forced to relinquish the NXT Championship. However, when one dream ends, another begins, and another begins tonight when Ricochet, Adam Cole, Aleister Black, Velveteen Dream and Matt Riddle face off for an opportunity to face Gargano in New York City for the vacant NXT title. The Forgotten Sons (Jaxson Ryker, Steve Cutler, Wesley Blake) also show up, but they are more focused on next week's main event, which are the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic finals. Dunne immediately demands Walter as his opponent as soon as he gets in the ring, then leaves.

We hear from Toni Storm, who says that while she and Jinny are different, they have one thing in common: they love gold. The only reason why she is a champion, however, is because she knows how to be one. As Toni leaves, Rhea Ripley shows up and says that if Xia Brookside wants another match with her, she should quit dreaming.

Murphy reminds Cedric that he kept him away from the Cruiserweight title and that he will beat him again. The Miz shows up to start tonight's show. After a video recap of Shane McMahon's explanation of his betrayal of The Miz from last Tuesday, The Miz says he has been laser-focused on the road to WrestleMania for the last years, but it has been at a cost. He says he has sacrificed every relationship to make it to where he is today, save for his relationship with Maryse and his daughter, and his relationship with Shane McMahon has been no different. He says it was all to make his own father proud of him, and when his father stood in the ring with him, it was the first time his father said he loved him and that he was proud of him, and Shane made that happen for him. Miz also admits that people warned him to watch himself after tag teaming with Shane, and at Fastlane, he found out the hard way how different Shane is behind the scenes when Shane attacked him and put his hands on his father. He says the latter action will be ingrained in his mind forever, and calls Shane "a vile, disgusting human being" who is rotten to the core just like his father, and says he was not born the best in the world; he was born the worst. Miz says Shane and Vince think they are special because they are billionaires who owns WWE, and that they don't own him or Kofi Kingston. He says he was born poor and told he would not amount to anything, and proved everyone wrong. He also says that he accomplished everything he has ever done on his own, and that his work ethic cannot be denied and he knows that hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard enough, and that he had to earn love and respect after thirteen long years. The crowd chants "You deserve it," and Miz agrees. Miz says all Shane has earned is as ass-whipping from him at WrestleMania.

Before the next match, Billie Kay announces that Bayley and Sasha Banks have finally arrived on SmackDown Live, and Peyton Royce says that they look small and scared inside their ring. They make fun of their appearance on NXT and their being chased out of the ring on Raw, and state that Bayley and Sasha are in unfamiliar territory. They say that Bayley and Sasha have saved the best for last, and the last will be IIconic.

It's time for The Kevin Owens Show. Tonight's guests are Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch is introduced first, followed by Charlotte Flair. Owens says that sometimes friendship can go wrong, and that nothing can get under the skin more than a former best friend. He goes over some of the things that have been said by "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey in the past, and says that while Ronda isn't here, Charlotte is. Owens goes over some of the things said about Charlotte by Ronda and Becky, then says Charlotte and Becky have said a lot and says that he speaks for himself and the fans when he says that nobody wants to see them talk. He says that tonight is "Fight Becky Fight" and "Fight Charlotte Fight." Charlotte and Becky stand up, and Charlotte says she would beat the holy hell out of Becky. Kevin Owens leaves the ring and moderates from the apron, and Becky punches Charlotte as Owens leaves to get away from the ensuing brawl. Becky and Charlotte beat up a few security guards before both women are finally pulled apart.

He admits that Orton is a great wrestler, but despite being the walk-on to Orton's first-round draft pick, he's good, too. He admits that Orton may have the home field advantage, he is ready to tear it down at WrestleMania. He also wishes Kofi Kingston luck in his match tonight.

We look back on "Stone Cold" Steve Austin vs. "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 14, courtesy of Snickers.

"The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan show up. Daniel brings up the word "injustice," and says that Kofi Kingston being in tonight's gauntlet match is an injustice, as Kofi does not deserve the opportunity. He says he knows what it is like to have the deck stacked against him and to be held back better than anyone else, and says that this has not happened to Kofi. He says Kofi was chosen to replace Mustafa Ali and given an opportunity he had never earned. He says Kofi fought his heart out in the gauntlet match and in the Elimination Chamber, but he earned nothing and is just "a B+ player." He says that is good enough for the fans and The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods), then says B+ is not good enough, and no matter how much the fans chant for Kofi, it will not change the fact that he lost both matches and the opportunity handed to him. Suddenly, The New Day shows up, and Kofi gets in the ring.

Kofi Kingston beats Sheamus, Cesaro, Rowan, Samoa Joe and Randy Orton in a gauntlet match to face "The New" Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 35. During the match, Rowan is eliminated after hitting Kofi with a steel chair on the outside, and he goes for a bear hug in which he slams Kofi into the ring post as part of an attempt to deal some more damage before he leaves. After the match, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon shows up and congratulates Kofi Kingston for performing nothing short of a miracle in the ring tonight. Vince tells Kofi that he will be going to WrestleMania as long as he can beat one last opponent. Vince tells Xavier Woods and Big E to leave the ring, and he wishes Kofi luck as it is revealed he must beat "The New" Daniel Bryan in the ring.

He then says Rollins has proved himself a fool, as Lesnar beat them all regardless and Drew McIntyre got up on Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose like he will do to Seth Rollins tonight. As he asks Drew McIntyre - who he calls "a career killer" - what he is thinking, McIntyre shows up and says he is earning the respect he has been looking for in WWE. McIntyre mentions how he brutalized Reigns and Ambrose last week, and tells Heyman to find Lesnar a new opponent because Seth Rollins will not make it to WrestleMania after tonight. Suddenly, McIntyre is attacked from behind with a steel chair. McIntyre's assailant happens to be Seth Rollins, and referees tell Seth to head to the back. Rollins responds with multiple steel chair shots to McIntyre's back. Rollins gets in the ring with the steel chair, and Heyman and Lesnar retreat.

However, he does not plan on being a former champion for long. Suddenly, Lio Rush and Bobby Lashley show up. Lio Rush says "the little leprachaun is upset because [Lashley] has [Finn's] pot of gold around his waist." He then asks Lashley to hit his new favorite pose and show the fans what they haven't seen in a long time: a championship. Finn tells Lashley to enjoy the Intercontinental Championship while he can, as he will take it back real soon. He then says his mystery partner will get his hands on both him and Lashley, and that mystery partner is Braun Strowman.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey and her husband Travis Browne are confronted by referee John Cone and security. Cone says that security has been increased to prevent another incident like the one from last week.

It's time for A Moment Of Bliss. Tonight's special guest is Elias. After Michael Cole runs down the card so far for WrestleMania 35, Alexa says he is the only person worthy of hosting the show. She says she feels like a really good talk show host after inspiring people such as Lilly Singh to host her own, then introduces Elias. Elias shows up, and Alexa says that this is a safe place and that nobody will interrupt his big announcement. Elias announces that he will be the headlining musical act at WrestleMania, in "the greatest city of them all" New York City. Elias says that what happened last year is the motivation for this year, and he not lives in the moment in pressure, he thrives in it. He says that if his performance was a game-winning field goal, he would make it every single time, as his performance will the best by virtually anyone. Before he can say what will happen to anyone who dares to interrupt him, No Way Jose's conga line - led by Otis and Tucker of Heavy Machinery - starts dancing around the stage. Alexa apologizes to Elias, saying the conga line should have shown up at the end of the show, but Elias threatens to teach Otis a lesson. Before that can happen, a conga line member attacks Elias from behind, and it happens to be No Way Jose in a mask. No Way Jose dares Elias to get in the ring with him.

Elias beats No Way Jose.

Kurt Angle beats Chad Gable with the ankle lock. After the match, Baron Corbin shows up and gloats about taking his General Manager job and humiliating him, but says it will not feel as good as beating and humbling Angle in his very last match. He says that Angle's accomplishments won't matter, as the fans will only remember Angle's last match.

Backstage, Baron Corbin is talking to The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) when Apollo Crews shows up and challenges Corbin to a match. As Corbin tries to dance around the challenge, Apollo asks for a simple yes or no answer and eventually gets a yes. Apollo says nobody likes Corbin because he is difficult, and when Corbin asks The Revival if anyone likes him, they say "Hell no."

In the ring, Charly Caruso interviews Sasha Banks and Bayley. Bayley says they do not duck anybody, and that they will make a special appearance on SmackDown Live, and it will be "IIconic." Beth says she respects Sasha and Bayley after seeing everything they did to make the tag team titles come to fruition and give the titles respect first-hand, and says she and Natalya would have loved the opportunity when she competed full-time. She admits she was content to watch the Women's Revolution from the commentary table until Nia Jax and Tamina tried to set it all back with their jealousy and pettiness. However, Nia and Tamina also "awoke the dragon." This got her thinking that maybe her and Natalya's dream could still become a reality, and while she loved her WWE career, there has been one thing missing: tag team gold. Beth announces that since Bayley and Sasha want to be fighting champions, she wants to step out of retirement, stand with Natalya and challenge Sasha and Bayley for the women's tag team titles at WrestleMania. Bayley says that this would be an honor, but asks if Beth Phoenix needs more time to prepare as competition has evolved since she left. Natalya says Beth is not afraid to fight someone like Bayley, and Sasha asks Natalya who she is talking to, as they bleed for the business. After Sasha accuses Natalya of riding on Beth's coattails for a WrestleMania match, Natalya slaps Sasha, and this starts a brawl. Beth shoves Bayley, and referees have to separate both sides.

Sasha Banks beats Natalya by disqualification. During the match, Nia Jax shows up and says that she has done more in three years than Beth Phoenix has done in her career and that Beth is jealous of her for all the attention she is getting. Beth and Sasha are then attacked from behind by Tamina.

We hear from Mojo Rawley, who talks to a mirror again as he talks about how much potential he has as well as how he despises the word "potential," as it is no good when he does nothing with it.

Ricochet beats Jinder Mahal.

It is announced that long-time WWE employee Sue Aitchison will be the recipient of this year's Warrior Award for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2019.

Backstage, Dasha Fuentes interviews Seth Rollins, who says that Drew McIntyre had better be prepared after beating his brothers, as tonight is for Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose and even Brock Lesnar, as he will not be pushed around and he will fight fire with fire.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Dana Brooke. She says that the road to WrestleMania is where dreams become reality and underdogs make history. If she can become better than "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey for three seconds, she can win and become a champion.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey beats Dana Brooke with an arm bar in mere seconds to retain the WWE Raw Women's Championship. After the match, Ronda refuses to let go of the arm bar until another referee shows up. The other referee gets punched, and when security shows up, Travis Browne - who is in the front row - punches a security guard after Ronda punches one, then helps Ronda to the back when she is confronted by security.

It is announced that Dana Brooke is undergoing medical treatment backstage.

Apollo Crews gets a surprise win on Baron Corbin by countering the End of Days into an inside cradle.

Michael Cole interviews Batista live via satellite. Batista says he just does not like Triple H, and ever since he came back, he has wanted one last match with him. He says that his hate for Triple H goes back further than his days in Evolution, as Triple H uses people for protection and to make him look good. Batista says Triple H groomed him to be his muscles only to be looked down upon, held down and underestimated, and that he blames Triple H for leaving at the height of his career nine years ago. He says that Triple H did not think he could be enough of a star in WWE, but since he left, he has movie star status and he is the one in control, and he has the match with Triple H that he wants. Batista goes on to call Triple H the most insecure, jealous control freak he has ever seen, and says that one day, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon will wake up and fire Triple H. As for Triple H's in-ring career, he plans to end it.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Braun Strowman. He says that Michael Che and Colin Jost had the audacity to get in his face and disrespecting him and the WWE. After declaring he will be in the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal due to the incident from two weeks ago making him so angry, Alexa Bliss shows up wanting to broker peace between Braun Strowman and Colin Jost. Strowman gives Alexa one week, but if they disrespect him, he will teach them what discipline really is.

Charlotte Flair and Girl Up recognize Irena Sendler and Serena Williams for their accomplishments as part of Women's History Month.

Before the next match, Drew McIntyre says actions speak much louder than words before showing the replay of the beating he gave Roman Reigns last week. He says that when Roman made his return, everyone rejoiced, but at Fastlane, he could tell Roman was not the same man; he was weak and vulnerable and reliant on his teammates, and now The Shield is no more after what he did last week. He says that Seth Rollins is a coward for hitting him with the steel chair in response for pulling back the curtain and revealing Roman to be mortal, and says Roman is now sitting at home because of him. McIntyre says that if Roman wants to be a hero so badly, then he challenges him to a fight at WrestleMania. He tells Roman to say no to this fight and to choose his family over his fans, as his fans don't care about him and all bets will be off when he destroys him. He says that Roman may have beaten leukemia, but he will never beat him. Suddenly, Seth Rollins is on the TitanTron, and tells McIntyre that is why he received a beating with a steel chair at the top of the show. He says the steel chair assault is for his brothers, and that the beating he will give him in the ring is for him. McIntyre meets Rollins on the ramp, and both men brawl before their match begins. Referees and officials try to separate both men.

Drew McIntyre beats Seth Rollins. During the match, Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar show up. McIntyre hits the Claymore on a distracted Rollins for the win.

One of the appearance is on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Brie tries to have a good attitude about everything despite the fact that she has had a rough comeback and she is not wrestling at Evolution.

Later that night, Brie and Nikki head to a bar. Nikki tells Brie that she has thought of the idea of a high-school style pep rally for the night before Evolution. Brie likes the idea of doing something for the fans, but she does not see it happen since it is being squeezed into their busy schedule. Nikki says she can make it work, especially since she knows that Brie has not exactly enjoyed their comeback.

Brie spends time with family and friends in New York City. Brie wishes for Nikki to be happy but also to be safe, especially after what happened to Johnny's voice during Johnny's career, and after talking with family and friends, Brie decides she should have "one last hurrah" before Evolution and before trying for a second child.

Three days before Evolution, Brie and Nikki walk around in a park while Nikki talks about her plans for the Bella Army pep rally. They meet Alena, the event planner for the pep rally, and get a sneak peek at the cheerleaders for the pep rally at Central Park. Brie and Nikki chat with family in a hotel room and see footage of Johnny during Johnny's career before his voice was changed following an elbow to the throat. Brie and Nikki found out that Johnny tried to get corrective surgery, but there was a risk of losing his voice completely. Brie thinks there may be a better chance of Johnny getting his voice back following recent improvements in technology.

Brie and Nikki sign autographs and meet with the fans before doing a Q&A and interview hosted by Lillian Garcia.

Two days before Evolution, Brie and Lauren have a moms' night out at a restaurant. Brie gets drinks from some fans - and also meets some fans - during the night.
