Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for March 12, 2020

Finn Balor shows up to start tonight's show. He says he is not here to boost the ratings; instead, he is here to face Walter if Walter "has the balls" to face him. It does not take long for Walter to show up. Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel and Alexander Wolfe are not far behind, and Wolfe welcomes Finn Balor to "the domain of Imperium (Walter, Aichner, Barthel, Wolfe)" before the four of them surround the ring as part of "a proper welcome." Finn Balor not only overpowers them, but outsmarts them, and dives out of the ring.

In footage from earlier this week, Piper Niven says that she and Toni Storm are like sisters, and while they sometimes fight, she could not sit back and watch as Kay Lee Ray crippled Toni. She says that if she stopped the match, Toni would never speak to her again. Piper then says Kay Lee Ray is another matter, as Kay Lee Ray comes off to her as "evil" and somebody needs to do something.

We see a vignette for Tyler Bate.

Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley) beat Dereiss Gordon and Dan Moloney.

Backstage, General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala are met by Alexander Wolfe, and they give him his match against Finn Balor for tonight immediately as soon as he demands it. Jordan Devlin then shows up, and he finds out that in two weeks, he will be defending the NXT Cruiserweight Championship against "The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks on NXT UK.

In footage from earlier this week at the UK Performance Center, "Bomber" Dave Mastiff, "Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews are met by Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang). After trading members, they agree on a six-man tag match for next week.

Noam Dar beats Ligero.

Backstage, "The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks says it would be great to beat Jordan Devlin for the Cruiserweight title given their history, and says that it was not his shoulders that Devlin pinned to the mat at Worlds Collide. Banks then promises that he will become the first Kiwi champion in NXT history.

Amale vs. Dani Luna ends after Kay Lee Ray runs in and tosses both women out of the ring. Kay Lee Ray says that since she has successfully gotten rid of Toni Storm, she is here to let the women's division know that the division belongs to her. Suddenly, she is attacked by Dani Luna, but Kay Lee Ray overpowers her and hits the Gory Bomb. Kay Lee Ray then restates that the NXT UK Women's Division belongs to her.

We see a vignette for Aoife Valkyrie.

Finn Balor beats Alexander Wolfe. During the match, the rest of Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel) show up to get a closer look at the match, but are ejected after Aichner and Barthel try to stop a corner drop kick from Finn Balor.

Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for January 23, 2020

General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala are in the ring with a table covering something in the middle of the ring. Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, Alexander Wolfe) shows up, and Sid Scala thanks the fans for making NXT UK the fastest-growing brand in WWE history. Walter is presented with what is under the red mantle on the table: the brand new NXT UK Championship, which will replace the WWE United Kingdom Championship. Walter thanks Saint and Scala for replacing that was polluted by Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne, then says that from now on, the NXT UK Championship is the "grand prix" of European wrestling. After saying it takes a man like him to respect the title, he calls out The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) for disrespecting him and Imperium, calling them an example of what is wrong with the sport, and says that for Imperium, it is now personal. Walter states that Imperium will humiliate, disrespect and hurt The Undisputed Era at Worlds Collide.

Jordan Devlin beats Ligero to advance to the Fatal 4-Way for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship at Worlds Collide.

Backstage, Radzi interviews Kay Lee Ray, who says that her preparations haven't changed as far as Worlds Collide is concerned, and that Mia Yim is just another statistic. After Kay Lee Ray tells Radzi that she does not need his luck, Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, Alexander Wolfe) shows up and says he should be interviewing them when "Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews show up and tells Imperium they are not as dominant as they think they are.

Next week: Eddie Dennis speaks out!

Ilja Dragunov beats Josh Morrell.

After the match, Dragunov says he is a man of few words, but the words he chooses are chosen and used very carefully. As he tells Finn Balor he will realized who he is at Worlds Collide, Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) shows up. Joe Coffey tells Mark Coffey and Wolfgang to give him a minute alone with Dragunov. They do. Joe admits NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II was not the best night for Gallus, then partly blames Dragunov for his loss. He says that he and Gallus are appreciative of what he has done for them, he still cost him his big chance. He tells Dragunov that while he is off at Worlds Collide, he is safe, but when Dragunov comes back, Dragunov has him to deal with.

Backstage, Imperium meets with General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala about having a tag team match with "Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews. They get their match for next week, but it will be a six-man tag with Andrews and Webster picking their own partner.

Next week: The Hunt (Wild Boar and Primate) vs. Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch!

"The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks beats The Brian Kendrick despite a targeted left hand to advance to the Fatal 4-Way for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship at Worlds Collide.

Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for January 2, 2020

General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala announce two more matches for NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II. Eddie Dennis will face Trent Seven, while Tyler Bate will face Jordan Devlin.

Before the next match, Kona Reeves tells the fans to shut up, as they threw him off during his match with Trent Seven a few weeks ago, then says he was jet-lagged, had improper nutrition, did not have enough sleep and was generally not ready. He then tells everyone to sit down so he can focus on the "monstrosity" in the ring, then implies that Dave Mastiff does not deserve to be in the same ring as him before saying tonight is his lucky night. After Reeves states that he will be able to tell his "pathetic" family that he was defeated by him, the next match starts.

Dave Mastiff beats Kona Reeves.

Toni Storm shows up. Storm says that after she lost the NXT UK Women's Championship, she had to go away for a while because she did not know herself anymore, as Kay Lee Ray got into her head and sent her into a very dark place. Toni then states that she owes somebody an apologizes, and says that she would really like to talk to Piper Niven. Piper Niven shows up, and Toni apologizes for letting Kay Lee Ray drive a wedge between them after all Piper has done for her. She then asks Piper Niven to step aside from the NXT UK Women's Championship match at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II, and tells her she will make her the first in line when she wins the title. Piper tells Toni she loves her and has sacrificed much to make it to where she is now, and says that she cannot walk away from this opportunity, stating that Toni has had her time and that she must have hers. Toni pulls her aside only to be headbutted by Piper. This starts a brawl between the two women that referees quickly break up, and Kay Lee Ray shows up and watches from the entrance ramp with glee.

Kassius Ohno beats Ligero with the Kassius Klutch. After the match, Kassius Ohno says he has figured out why his match with Tyler Bate had an unfavorable outcome, and says it will never happen again. He says he lost sight of why he came to NXT UK: to be the liven embodiment of British wrestling. He says it makes him sick to his stomach that nobody in the back knows nothing about British wrestling, then says he is a wrestling genius and that he can beat people with wrestling, not punches or boots, for he is the greatest wrestler alive.

In footage from earlier this week, A-Kid's promo is hijacked by Joseph Conners, who says he is UK TakeOver worthy. Conners tells A-Kid that he is currently on a roll in NXT UK and that he has has no problem ruining things for him.

In footage from during the break, Kassius Ohno says he is the best British wrestler alive when Dave Mastiff shows up from behind and tells him he knows where to find him when he wants to fight a real British wrestler.

Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith beat The Outliers (Riddick Moss and Dorian Mak) when Smith pins Moss with an inside cradle as The Outliers prematurely celebrate a victory.

We see a video package for Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) vs. Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) vs. "Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews for the NXT UK Tag Team Championships at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II.

Ilya Dragunov beats Alexander Wolfe in a no-disqualification match. After the match, Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel show up and attack Dragunov, then Walter stands at the stage as Wolfe, Aichner and Barthel stand in the center of the stage. As Walter approaches the ring, he is attacked by Joe Coffey, who then runs to the back.

Backstage, "Flash" Morgan Webster says he and Mark Andrews with Grizzled Young Veterans about Gallus and Imperium getting involved, but they had the match won, not the Veterans. Andrews asks General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala another chance to prove they can become NXT UK Tag Team Champions again at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II.

Joseph Conners beats "The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks and Ligero in a Triple Threat Match.

We hear from Kassius Ohno, who says that he has looked back on his match with Tyler Bate. He says that Bate got under his skin and made him lose sight of why he came to NXT UK in the first place: to show the honest side of British and European wrestling. He says that "The Knockout Artist" will take a back seat to "The Wrestling Genius" and says that instead of seeing rolling elbows and cyclone boots, you will see more technical wrestling out of him.

General Manager Johnny Saint and Assistant Sid Scala moderate negotions between Gallus (Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, Wolfgang) and Imperium (Walter, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel, Alexander Wolfe). Joe Coffey and Walter show up as representatives for both parties. Joe Coffey refuses to sit down as they get down to business, and tells Walter that if Imperium wants to keep walking down the path they are on, they will get hurt. Coffey says he has not forgotten what he did to him at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool back in January, and says he wants the WWE United Kingdom Championship. Walter says he does not step back from any competition, but he wants something in return: Wolfgang and Mark Coffey defending the NXT UK Tag Team Championships. Joe Coffey says that is fine, as he knows Gallus, but he wants Ilya Dragunov vs. Alexander Wolfe as well. Joe Coffey says that Dragunov does not run with them, and Walter says "No Ilya, no deal." Suddenly, Dragunov shows up. Dragunov simply says "Make the agreement," then Coffey tells Walter they have a deal. Scala announces that the tag team titles will be defended next week, while Dragunov vs. Wolfe in a no-disqualification match will take place at a later date. The WWE United Kingdom Championship match between Joe Coffey and Walter at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool II is then made official. As Dragunov leaves, Walter tells him he made a really bad decision. Suddenly, Alexander Wolfe grabs Dragunov from underneath the ring, and Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel come of the crowd to further ambush Dragunov. Walter then hits Dragunov with a big boot before Wolfe puts Dragunov through the table in the middle of the ring.

"The Kiwi Buzzsaw" Travis Banks beats Ligero after Joseph Conners attacks Ligero on the outside behind the referee's back. After the match, Conners then attacks Banks. Conners then takes the microphone and says that this was supposed to be about him becoming the very first WWE United Kingdom Championship only for it to not happen. He also says he was supposed to be part of the very first NXT UK TakeOver, but that did not happen, either. He says he is worthy, and asks who is to say that he is not. Conners says he is sick of the questions, excuses and ignorance, and says that as far as he is concerned, if he has to continue suffering, then everyone else will suffer with him.

We see a vignette for Ridge Holland, who debuts next week.

In footage from earlier this week at the UK Performance Center, William Regal is visiting. Suddenly, Alexander Wolfe shows up and asks General Manager Johnny Saint for a match against Ilya Dragunov as soon as possible. Saint gives him the match.
