Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for December 26, 2018 - Episode One

Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala is in the ring to start tonight's show. He introduces General Manager Johnny Saint to the ring. For the first time in the brand's history, NXT UK will be live from Blackpool, England on the WWE Network. Suddenly, Toni Storm shows up, and says she has been living in Liverpool, England for the past five years before running down what she's done in WWE lately. Due to her Mae Young Classic victory, she is owed a championship opportunity of her choosing, and she announces that she will challenge for the NXT UK Women's Championship at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool. Johnny Saint tells Toni she's got her title match. Toni says that the title is hers and that it is "Toni Time."

Jordan Devlin beats "The Lucky Yin" Kenny Williams. After the match, Radzi Chinyanganya interviews Devlin, who tells Radzi to take a knee before gloating about his victory before announcing he has made it a mission to call out all the fakes and pretenders. He says that his next target is an embarrassment to his country and that he will soon learn that you never bet against "The Ace."

Next week: Marcel Barthel debuts!

Backstage, Radzi Chinyanganya interviews General Manager Johnny Saint and assistant Sid Scala when Rhea Ripley shows up and says that she decides who she wants to face. She also wants to defend her title next week, and demands an opponent. Saint and Scala have a moment, and they tell Rhea Ripley that they have an opponent for her who will be debuting next week: Deonna Purrazzo. Rhea Ripley tells Sid Scala she still doesn't like him, then leaves. Johnny Saint says "What can ya do?"

Eddie Dennis beats Dan Moloney by disqualification after "Bomber" Dave Mastiff attacks Eddie Dennis at ringside. After the match, Dan Moloney confronts Mastiff only to get elbowed in the face, who then hits a somersault senton into the corner to send a message to Dennis.

General Manager Johnny Saint and Sid Scala are talking to Ligero. Ligero thanks Scala and General Manager Johnny Saint, then Joe Coffey shows up with the rest of Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) and says it's not about Ligero or his opportunity; it is about him and the NXT UK Championship as they will send him into the hospital. Scala tells Coffey to focus on his match, then tells the rest of Gallus to focus on their own match, as they are in the tag team title semi-finals in two weeks against Moustache Mountain (Tyler Bate and Trent Seven). Gallus leaves, then Ligero thanks Johnny Saint and Sid Scala and says that he will prove his worth tonight.

Zack Gibson gives James Drake a tour of Liverpool, England, and says he is so big that if he were to leave, Liverpool would crumble. He says the people of Liverpool will have their eyes on them when they win the NXT UK tag titles, as Liverpool needs him more than he needs Liverpool.

Next week: Zack Gibson and James Drake in action!

Tyson T-Bone and Saxon Huxley beat Tucker and Jack Starz.

Backstage, Radzi Chinyanganya interviews Isla Dawn, who admits she came up short against Rhea Ripley but is prepared to rise up, dust off the ashes and continue on her path to the NXT UK Women's Championship. Suddenly, Jinny shows up and says nobody cares about Isla Dawn or her path and that Isla Dawn blew it, and claims she would have walked out NXT UK Women's Champion as that is the difference between a witch and a queen.

Joe Coffey beats Ligero.
