Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for December 11, 2018

Before the next match, "The New" Daniel Bryan apologizes to the fans for calling them sheep last week, and apologizes to real sheep for comparing them to humans destroying the Earth with their endless consumption and carbon footprint. He then calls the fans "parasites." Daniel Bryan then continues to call the fans fickle, as they continue to take without giving anything in return. He says he is not surprised, as they latched onto the old him and latched onto his success, living vicariously through him. He then declares the old him and the Yes! Movement dead, and says that the "parasites" have moved on the next fickle field: the couch of the house that "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles built. Daniels proclaims he is the WWE Champion, not AJ Styles, and at TLC, he will crush Styles' dream of becoming WWE Champion again, and at the end of the match, the champion will be "The New" Daniel Bryan. He then says that he does not know whether the fans are stupid or intentionally pull the wool under their own eyes so they don't know the facts about what is going on, and says stupidity is the deliberate cultivation of ignorance. Suddenly, Mustafa Ali from 205 Live - Daniel Bryan's advertised opponent for tonight - and introduces himself, but Daniel stops him, saying he knows who he is before asking him to join him in the ring. Daniel Bryan introduces Mustafa Ali to the fans, saying he is an incredible performer and that he sees a lot of himself in Ali. He says that they do not need to have this match, as the people won't care after this match as they are too self-absorbed, xenophobic and consumed by mindless consumption. He also says that the fickle fans do not deserve their match. Ali asks Daniel what happened to him, saying it was Daniel who proved it was possible for him and the rest of the 205 Live roster to be part of the WWE roster. He says the old Daniel Bryan would want a fight, and that he wants a fight, too. Daniel asks Ali what kind of car he drives, and when Ali answers with "an SUV," Daniel calls him a small, small man and asks why he needs one. Ali says he has a wife and two kids, and Daniel slaps him, calling him ignorant. Ali has enough and fights back, starting their match early.

"The New" Daniel Bryan beats Mustafa Ali with the heel hook after rolling away from the 054. After the match, Daniel Bryan attacks Mustafa Ali on the stage, stomping at the back of his knee before putting him in the heel hook.

Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio in a Chairs Match is now official for TLC.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) show up to host the rap battle between The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) and The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro), who show up during the commercial break. Kofi Kingston introduces everyone to the rap battle after The Usos and The Bar show up during the break, and Xavier Woods proclaims that The New Day will be tag team champions again at TLC. Big E reminds both sides to keep it clean, and The Bar go first. The Bar break into "Ice Ice Sheamy," which does not go over very well with The New Day. The Usos go afterwards, and when it becomes obvious that they have won, The Bar try to attack them and fail. The Usos then argue with The New Day, but The Bar get back in the ring and and attack everyone else.

We hear from Asuka, who says she thought nobody was ready for her, but she was wrong when it came to Charlotte Flair. At TLC, she will climb, grab the title and win. Tonight, Charlotte will not be ready for her.

The Miz is in the ring with the Best In The World Trophy. He tells Commissioner Shane McMahon that he may custody of the trophy right now, he is not giving it back until he shows up, as he has a lot to say. When Shane fails to show up, Miz gets on one knee and begs for Shane to show up, saying this is about life choices. Shane eventually shows up and wants to know why Miz is in the ring with the trophy, and Miz says this is the only way he can get through to him, saying they can be good if he just gives them a chance. Miz says he owes it to the two of them to tag again, but Shane the thing with the trophy is getting weird. Miz says this is about their accomplishment, and Shane asks for some enlightenment. Miz says he owes it to the two of them to tag again, but Shane the thing with the trophy is getting weird. Miz says this is about their accomplishment, and Shane asks for some enlightenment. Miz says it would be better if he shows him, and asks for a referee. He then proposes a match where they tag against Chip and Chad, the Vegas Boys.

Randy Orton shows up. Before getting in the ring, he takes a steel chair from ringside and takes it with him into the ring, where he examines it. He says there is nothing like a good old solid steel chair, which has many uses, including sending a statement or message. We then see footage of what Orton did to Rey Mysterio three weeks ago. After that, we see footage from what happened a week after that, when Orton further bruised Rey's trachea. Orton then says he finds it amazing that Rey is okay with having a Chairs Match against him on Sunday after what he has done to him, and says Rey is his victim. He then says that while everyone else worries about TLC, Rey will be worrying about RKO. Sudenly, Rey Mysterio sneaks up on Orton from behind and strikes him multiple times with a steel chair. Rey goes for the 619, but Orton rolls out of the ring before he can drop the dime.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Becky Lynch, who says that she has to road test her face and her head on Sunday and that she has no advantage. However, she loves it, as fighting against the odds is what she does. Tonight, she will scout both Charlotte Flair and Asuka out at ringside, and on Sunday, she will show what chaos can happen when "The Man" comes around.

Before the next match, Carmella and R-Truth show up to have a dance break.

Jeff Hardy and Rusev beat Samoa Joe and Shinsuke Nakamura.

Backstage, Commissioner Shane McMahon confronts The Miz for crossing several lines by hiring people to attack him and starting an unsanctioned match as he takes the Best In The World trophy from him. Miz says he was never considered best in the world despite all of his accomplishments until Shane came along, but Shane refuses to give back the trophy.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. Styles says he is biding his time, as nobody wants to beat up "The New" Daniel Bryan more than him and that he is waiting for TLC to beat "the real" Daniel Bryan and get the WWE title back.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Charlotte Flair. Charlotte says she knows what is at stake on Sunday, and while Asuka said she would break her, she says that queens don't break - and that she breaks undefeated streaks - and that she will give Becky and Asuka a taste of what will happen to them on Sunday.

Becky Lynch shows up to watch the next match from ringside.

Asuka beats Charlotte Flair by disqualification after Charlotte hits Asuka with a Kendo stick. After the match, Charlotte hits Becky Lynch with the Kendo stick before going back to hitting Asuka with it. Becky takes the Kendo stick away and smacks Charlotte with it, then Asuka kicks Becky before tossing her over the commentary table. Asuka then strikes both Charlotte and Becky with the Kendo stick to end the show.
