Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for August 21, 2026

Backstage, Sami Zayn argues with General Manager Nick Aldis, saying that it should be him that should be defending the Undisputed WWE Championship in Toronto and demands to know when he will get justice, especially after Randy Orton got involved last week. Orton shows up and confronts Sami, then "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes - who is already in the ring - calls Orton out. Aldis tells Orton to let him deal with this, and Sami furiously demands not to run away from him. As Aldis talks with Cody, Orton shows up and tells Cody that he will be whupping his ass at Sunday Night's Main Event, but Cody says he knows Orton well enough that he will not wait until then. Aldis butts in, saying that they are not doing this again after putting other people in danger, and says that they will tear each other apart at Sunday Night's Main event and not one minute sooner. Aldis also warns both Orton and Cody that if they lay a hand on each other before them, they will never get another shot at the Undisputed WWE Championship. Orton says he will not jeapordize his chance of becoming a 15-time world champion, then addresses the attack on him at the end of last week's show, saying that Cody did not swing the chair down on his head because he would not be able to live with himself, while he swung the chair because he knew how to "go there" and become the worst version fo himself. Orton says that Cody is and will always be "a good guy," and is more like "The American Daydream" rather than "The American Nightmare." He says that Cody says will not be the one to end "The Legend Killer," but Cody says that Orton is operating on a very dangerous assumption, and that he has learned from Orton and his enemies that he will come back to him and that this is not a prediction, but a spoiler.

Backstage, we hear from The MFT's (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga). Tama wants to see everyone talking trash, as it is about their family now. Talla says the WWE Tag Team Championships are theirs now, and threatens to put down anyone who challenges them. Haku shows up and says it is time they show them who is "the motherfuckin' Tongans here."

The MFT's (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga) retain the WWE Tag Team Championships against Damian Priest and R-Truth with the Red Cross. After the match, Priest helps Truth up.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews CM Punk. Punk says that he thrives in pressure situations and hostile territories, and that Kevin Owens has been fighting imaginary, one-sided beefs and ghosts from twenty years ago in his head. He says that while Owens has claimed he has never changed, Punk says he has grown and evolved while he sees the same Owens from twenty years ago. Randy Orton shows up and gives CM Punk fair warning that after he whups "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes, he will be coming for him. Punk says he looks forward to it.

Backstage, Chelsea Green meets with Tiffany Stratton. Chelsea wants to take Stratton out for a big steak dinner after what happened last week, but Stratton says it is okay and tells Chelsea not to be at ringside because she does not want anything jeopardizing Chelsea's championship reign. Chelsea and Stratton pass by Paige, who tells Chelsea that she will be a great champion after having an injury threaten to take away somethings he loved just like an injury did to her. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid) show up and mock the situation, and Jacy tells Chelsea not to take advice from anyone who cannot hold a championship before Fallon says it is only a matter of time before they take the Interim WWE Women's Championship from her. Lainey says last week was "cute," but words are no match for actually getting in the ring with Fatal Influence. Chelsea says that if anybody will be taking titles, it will be them taking Fatal Influence's, and Paige says that she misses gold being around her waist and proposes taking the Women's United States Championship from Jacy, which prompts Stratton to tell Fatal Influence to continue being irrelevant like they were before they got to SmackDown. Jacy tells Stratton to keep wrapping tape around her waist while Fatal Influence continues to wrap gold around theirs.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Blake Monroe. Blake says that she sees herself as world championship material and that her match should be for the WWE Women's Championship, even if it is against Chelsea Green, but instead, she has a rendezvous with Giulia and she is trying to find something appropriate to wear for "this dump Toronto." Blake then agrees with Cathy that she will look great regardless of what she wears as she reveals he ring gear and says that even if she is given nothing, she will do what she does best and make everyone talk about her.

Giulia vs. Blake Monroe ends before it can begin when Blake attacks Giulia from behind during Giulia's ring entrance and hits her with a Gotch-style Neutralizer in the ring.

Backstage, Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss talk about Alexa's upcoming birthday brunch when Alexa mentions that Tatum Paxley will be with them. Tatum shows up and says she cannot wait to hang out with Charlotte and Alexa, then gets confused as to what a Bloody Mary is. Charlotte asks what is happening, then Jade Cargill, B-Fab and "Michin" Mia Yim show up. Cargill says that Alexa needs "that freak show" in Tatum to bail herself out of a match before Tatum introduces herself, asks which one of them is Mary, and says that she needs their blood as she extends her hand towards B-Fab. B-Fab is grossed out, and Charlotte says that while Tatum may be a freak show with no sense of personal space, she still handled B-Fab and Michin. B-Fab says that if Tatum is so impressive, then they can see what Tatum can do on her own, which leads Michin to challenge Tatum to a one-on-one match next week. An excited Tatum accepts, and B-Fab has to get Cargill out of there while Tatum is happy that Charlotte defended her.

Trick Williams and Lil' Yachty head to the ring. Trick says he has Lil' Yachty back, but not his title, and that Baron Corbin does not want to see him one-on-one without cheating or taking shortcuts. When Trick calls Corbin out, Corbin shows up and heads to the ring, then chases Yachty out before Trick reminds Corbin that he is the one he is looking for. Trick tells Corbin to stop ducking him and give the people what they want, right here, right now, but Corbin says that the United States title is getting "a pretty little haircut" and that Trick is not getting another shot at it after he lost the rematch. Corbin says that Trick has nothing to offer and that his rematch is not happening. As Corbin says that they are done, Yachty is back in the ring, and he hits Corbin with the Trick Stick. Trick then clotheslines Corbin out of the ring, and Corbin ends up giving Trick his title rematch at Sunday Night's Main Event, but only if he gets five minutes with Yachty and only if Yachty surives; otherwise, they are done. Yachty accepts, and Corbin tells Yachty it will be the longest five minutes of his life.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Kevin Owens. Owens notes that Finn Balor is in the room, and Finn Balor says he is glad to have seen him return at SummerSlam, then Owens notes that Gunther is now in the room. Gunther tells Owens that if he wins tonight, he will not have to worry about Finn Balor, as he is a shadow of his former self; instead, Owens will have to worry about him. Finn tells Owens not to worry about Gunther and to worry about winning the Undisputed WWE Championship, and tells him that when he does, he will be waiting on the other side.

Lash Legend beats Tiffany Stratton. After the match, The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) attack Stratton, then Chelsea Green runs to the ring with a shinai and smacks The Irresistible Forces with it.

We hear from Shinsuke Nakamura, who says that he has warned The MFT's (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga) for weeks, but they have not been listening. He says that what is in the dark has finally come to light. All of a sudden, Hiromu Tanahashi, no longer in New Japan Pro Wrestling, introduces himself as "Kyoki," and says that after spending years competing around the world, he is finally in WWE, and says that the stronger they are, the more fun he has. Nakamura says that Kyoki does not fear chaos; he enjoys it. Kyoki wants more fights, more gold and more madness, and Nakamura tells The MFT's that they have the WWE Tag Team Championships for now, but when Strong Style and madness combine, there will be an explosion.

CM Punk retains the Undisputed WWE Championship against Kevin Owens. During the match, Punk pushes Owens into referee Dan Engler, and Owens soon does the same to Punk, which knocks Engler out of the ring. Owens hits a Stunner, but Engler is out. Owens calls for another referee before Punk hits him with the GTS, but Engler is still out. Punk tries to pull Engler back into the ring, but Sami Zayn comes out of the crowd and sends Punk into the ring post and back into the ring, where Owens hits Punk with another Stunner. Sami gets Engler back into the ring, but Punk kicks out in the nick of time. Sami then grabs the Undisputed WWE Championship and slides it into the ring, and tells Owens to use it as a weapon against Punk while Engler is still down. Owens is reluctant, and when Sami gets on the apron, Owens tells him he is not winning it that way and hands the title to Sami only for Sami to smack him in the head with it. Punk hits Owens with another GTS, and Engler comes to and counts the pinfall. After the match, Sami hits Punk with the WWE Championship, and when Owens gets to his feet, Sami hits Owens with it a second time before doing the same to Punk. Sami then tells Punk that he stole the WWE Championship and that the WWE Championship being back with him is justice.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!

Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for August 20, 2026

Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, Tasha Steelz, Special Agent Zero, Mila Moore) is in the ring to start tonight's show. Mustafa Ali asks the crowd to remain silent as he speaks, then says that Order 4 has a statement of emergency after Jason Hotch was crowned TNA International Champion live on AMC in front of the entire world and his family. Mustafa says that Hotch is not a good man and the man of his household, as he is the man of Hotch's house and that the life that Hotch's family has is all because of him. He says that Hotch had the audacity to stab him in the back after all he did for Hotch. This leads to a "You deserve it" chant before Mustafa says that he deserves and demands loyalty, then Mustafa says that he has gotten with Daria Rae and tells John Skyler to prove that he is still his most loyal attack dog when he wrestles Hotch not for the International Championship, but for loyalty. Skyler and Tasha are still in the ring as Mustafa, Mila Moore and Special Agent Zero leave, alienated by what is going on. Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jason Hotch, who has seen Order 4 in the ring on a nearby screen. Hotch says he does not know if he can find the words, as Skyler is his best friend as well as family and they have been through Hell and back together. He says that Mustafa Ali thinks he makes the rules and talks too much, but tonight, he will not wrestle Skyler, as Skyler is his brother. Daria Rae shows up and says Hotch will wrestle Skyler or else he will be suspended or stripped of his title before telling Hotch to be professional.

Before the next match, The Personal Concierge George Iceman says he may not be able to see the fans, but he can smell them, and they all smell like formaldehyde because they are all corpses. He then introduces Mr. Elegance as someone who "smells incredible and looks magnificent."

Rich Swann beats Mr. Elegance after countering Excuse Moi with a roll-up. After the match, The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) show up on the ramp with their eyes on BDE.

Jada Stone beats Heather by Elegance to advance in the Knockouts Television Championship Tournament.

We hear from Elayna Black and Xia Brookside in a remote conversation. Elayna says that Brookside was in serious need of humility last week, and as funny as it was, there will be no fun and games at Lockdown, and it will just be the two of them in the steel cage. Brookside says the only embarrassing thing is Elayna's call for attention since she arrived in TNA and has been barking up every tree she can find and talking nonsense like she is the greatest Knockouts in history. She says that Elayna is lying to herself before Elayna tells Brookside that her days are numbered and that her claims will be proven "100% true" as there is nothing she will not do to become Knockouts World Champion. Brookside says that if she did what Elayna did, she would be telling the truth, and that Wendy Choo found out the hard way when she showed up to her division uninvited and got sent packing. She says that everyone who thought they stood a chance were left laying, and that Elayna's embarrassment will continue when her friends and family watch her fail. Brookside ends the conversation, then Elayna says "I can't wait to shut this bitch up."

Backstage, The Elegance Brand (The Personal Concierge George Iceman, Heather by Elegance, M by Elegance, Mr. Elegance) is not happy with the turn of tonight's events, but The Personal Concierge says it is not the end of the world as they will win the Knockouts Tag Team Championships and the Knockouts Television Championship to become "The Empire of Elegance."

Brian Myers beats Fabian Aichner in a Lethal Lockdown Advantage match with all seconds banned from ringside after kicking Aichner low outside of the referee's field of vision when Myers traps the referee in the corner, allowing Myers to hit a second Roster Cut for the win with Aichner hacing kicked out of the first one.

As per the TNA Injury Report: Jeff Hardy is dealing with lower back pain following last week's main event, but is cleared despite not being at 100% tonight. During Lockdown, medical personnel will be on standby for any medical emergency. "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth's condition is "same as the feeling of the best day of your life, slap your mother with it, and multiply it by 1000." mother with it, and multiply it by 1000."

Harley Hudson has a FaceTime call with Traci Brooks about her career-threatening match with Alisha Edwards. Hudson says that she does not want to fail, but Traci reminds her that she is a TNA Knockout and is a part of TNA's rich history, and that Hudson needs to believe in her like she, the fans and the company do. Traci tells Hudson to remember who she is. Hudson thanks Traci for the advice, and says she cannot let anyone down and that she must beat Alisha.

Before the next match, Jason Hotch says that considers John Skyler his brother and his family and that both of their hands are being forced. He says they do not have to fight, but they can give the fans a great wrestling match and show them what TNA is all about.

Jason Hotch vs. John Skyler ends in a no-contest. Backstage, Mustafa Ali sends Mila Moore to the ring to tell John Skyler that he is to take Jason Hotch out, not wrestle him. Secret Service soon surrounds the ring and fights Hotch, and Special Agent Zero shows up and hits Hotch with a big boot. This ends the match, and Mustafa Ali places a gold badge on top of Hotch, saying that he is part of Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, John Skyler, Tasha Steelz, Special Agent Zero, Mila Moore) until he says so.

We hear from The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch). Vincent says that strength has been in the garden and never in one flower, and while BDE has strength in numbers, he wants to know if the numbers believe in him. Vincent says that Rich Swann is the only thing standing in his way, and Dutch says that BDE has the opportunity to get rid of him. Dutch says some lessons are taught with open hands, while others will be shown. Vincent says the seeds are planted, and it is time to see if BDE grows from it.

Daria Rae guests on commentary for the next match.

Harley Hudson beats Alisha Edwards with a roll-up after Alisha mocks and insults her to save her job in TNA. (Had Harley lost, her TNA contract would have been terminated.) After the match, Alisha attacks Harley, and when Eddie and Alisha Edwards gang up on Harley, Jada Stone runs in and makes the save for Harley.

We see a video package for Leon Slater vs. Cedric Alexander in a Last Man Standing Match for the TNA X-Division Championship at Lockdown.

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy), Moose and Elijah beat The Nemeths ("The Wanted Man" Nic and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth), AJ Francis and Frankie Kazarian in an eight-man tag match. The "A Matt-er of Fact" fact before the match is "Matt has more friends than The Nemeths, AJ and Kazarian combined!"

It is revealed that Cedric Alexander has been laid out backstage to end the show.

Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for April 19, 2026

United Empire (Will Ospreay, Francesco Akira, Henare) beats The Don Callis Family ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Rocky "Azucar" Romero, Lance Archer) in a trios match.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada. Okada says that nothing is more important than family, unlike "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita, who left the family because he was selfish, and hopes that "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher does not make the same mistake. Okada says it is important that the International Championship stay in the family, and while he will be happy for Fletcher if he retains, but if he wins, he hopes Fletcher is happy for him and will raise his hand in the ring.

Tony Schiavone introduces "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher to the ring. Fletcher says everyone is in the midst of the greatest International Championship reign of all time and that he sees no reason for it to end any time soon, especially at Wembley Stadium. He mentions "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada's statement that family means everything, as he agrees due to his owing Don Callis so much, and while he is willing to go along with Callis' plan, Okada needs to know his role in this. He says that if Okada is as honest about family as he says he is, he will have no problem with him retaining. Fletcher then mention his and Okada's collective hate for "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita, calling him the most selfish and narcissistic person he has ever met. Takeshita shows up and heads to the ring, and both he and Fletcher soon brawl. Takeshita soon gets the upper hand and hits the running knee before following it up with the Raging Fire. Takeshita then holds the International Championship up in front of a downed Fletcher.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Renee Paquette has a sit-down interview with Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay. Ospreay and Omega talk about their first meeting; Ospreay considered it an honor, but he was out of his depth as he looked to make an impression, while Omega knew Ospreay as an oft-mentioned Internet darling, and while he was not blown away, he saw his potential. They also talked about their first meeting in New Japan Pro Wrestling. Omega notes that Ospreay was a completely different athlete at that point and filled his shoes in his absence, but Ospreay's name does not bring fans and money like his name does. Ospreay talks about how New Japan was during the COVID-19 public health emergency and what he had to go through while Omega had "an easy day on the job," and tells Omega not to mention numbers after what he had to go through. After Omega tells Ospreay that they both went through the same thing, Omega then talks about his experiences with Don Callis and how Ospreay had to get Don Callis to host their match in AEW. Ospreay says that Omega embarrassed him, but Omega says he did not have to use Callis in their Tokyo Dome match unlike how Ospreay had to use Callis at Forbidden Door. Ospreay says that the victory was an embarrassment, as everyone said the win was "all down Callis." Omega forgives Ospreay for that and does not hold it against him due to Ospreay's confession, saying it is music to his ears and making it feel like he beat him twice. Omega says that everything changed for him after his bout with diverticulitis, but it made him a better wrestler as he had to use his mind more than his body and he is smarter for it. He then asks Ospreay if he can say the same after coming back from breaking three discs in his neck and challenging him at the best he has ever been, saying Ospreay has quite the confidence in him. Ospreay mentions how every time he asked Omega not to give up on himself, Omega would hide at home for four weeks, and when he said he gave up, it cut his ego. He also feels that Omega does not really see him as his equal. Omega wants to know if Ospreay wants him at his best or at a weakened state, Ospreay says he wants Omega at his best in front of his family, fans and friends at Wembley Stadium, and that he cannot crumble under pressure and he must do it on his own. Ospreay says it has been a ten year chase and that when he beats Omega, he will do it with pride and honor when it matters the most. Omega says it was at 2023, but Ospreay failed, and that Ospreay will fail in his own home country. Security has to step in when Omega briefly mentions Ospreay's mother, and says that while Ospreay has a lot riding on Wembley and that Ospreay brings magic out of him, and that while his mother would be proud of him even if he loses, his son will want a new hero afterwards.Security has to step in when Omega briefly mentions Ospreay's mother, and says that while Ospreay has a lot riding on Wembley and that Ospreay brings magic out of him, and that while his mother would be proud of him even if he loses, his son will want a new hero afterwards.

All of a sudden, Gabe Kidd suddenly returns to assist The Dogs. Roderick Strong shows up and fights Gabe Kidd, but The Dogs, now at full strength again, overpower him. Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) and "Hangman" Adam Page show up, and The Dogs leave as they enter the ring. Hangman compliments David Finlay's boots before calling Finlay a dumbass, then The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) and The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson) show up. Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Maya World, who says that she is not done yet after beating three of the best in AEW. Willow Nightingale shows up and congratulates Maya, then says she is a woman of her word and that Maya World gets the first shot at the AEW Women's World Championship on Collision. Willow says she has business with Mercedes Moné, but Maya says she could be the one facing Mercedes.

Jon Cruz, now known as Jonathan Cruz, shows up as MJF's personal translator to show Andrade just what exactly MJF thinks of Andrade el Idolo. He states that Andrade will never beat him, win the Casino Gauntlet Match, will not be AEW World Champion, and is also not "a real Latino man." He also says that he is more of a man than Andrade and that while he would challenge Andrade, he will not do it because Andrade is a coward. As Cruz leaves, Andrade shows up, a match is immediately made, and Andrade hits a big boot and the DM to win. Andrade then takes the microphone and addresses MJF in Spanish before calling him out. MJF's entrance theme hits, then MJF shows up on the video screen in his heated swimming pool. MJF says he decided to opt out of flying to Baltimore, Maryland and is happy to have done so, then says that the next time they meet, Andrade will be looking up at the lights in Wembley Stadium after messing with "The One True Champion." MJF picks Jonathan Cruz back up, hits him with The DM a second time, then says "How you know?"

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Mercedes Moné and Willow Nightingale, who are in separate rooms. Mercedes says she did not beat Willow badly enough because she is still smiling, but Willow says Mercedes will not take her smile or her title. Mercedes says she will end Willow, and Willow says she is smiling because she has the fans. She says the fans hate Mercedes because she tries so hard to be perfect while the fans know her for just being Willow, and that the fans have also seen her win the AEW World Championship and have connected with her along the way. Mercedes says that Willow was constantly in her way and smiling at her, then calls her a bully that everyone loves before telling her she has eleven days left to smile before she takes her smile and her title. Willow leaves her room, as does Mercedes, and both women soon brawl backstage before taking it to the entrance ramp. Officials and security rush out to restore order, and the brawl makes its way into the ring before Willow and Mercedes are pulled apart. Willow and Mercedes soon break free and go at it again, but security and officials move back into place. Mercedes teases getting out of the ring before charging at Willow again, and that leads to her being forced out of the ring and kept out before she is forced to the back.

We see a video package for Darby Allin vs. "The Jet" Kevin Knight in a Falls Count Anywhere Match for the TNT Championship at All In.

Knight yanks the microphone away from Schiavone and tells him to get out of the ring as he is uncomfortable with asking too many question, then says he has plenty of answers, especially for Darby Allin, who he says still thinks he is a young boy. Knight says that he is "a grown ass man" and the best TNT Champion of all time before calling Darby out, and Knight demands that Darby's music be cut and that Darby show that he has no weapons on him. Darby opens his jacket and shows no weapons. Knight says that Baltimore, Maryland is unworthy of seeing him fight tonight before telling Darby to get in the ring. Darby refuses, then all of a sudden, the pyro on the stage goes off, blinding Darby so that Knight can blast him with the TNT Championship. Knight then grabs a chair from underneath the ring, hangs Darby upside-down in the corner, wraps the chair around Darby's head, then goes for the coast-to-coast drop kick off the top rope and hits it on the chair. Darby is fitted with a neck brace and put on a stretcher, and Steven Borden, Sting's son and a close friend of Darby, also shows up to check on Darby.

Backstage, as Darby Allin is placed in an ambulance, "The Jet" Kevin Knight shows up and tells Steven Borden to stay in his lane and not to go "where the big boys play." Darby has to hold Borden despite his weakened state, and as Darby is wheeled out, Knight says "He wasn't ready for it, anyway."

Before the match, Will Ospreay has a verbal confrontation with Kenny Omega as Omega heads to the ring and has to be held back by security.

The Elite (Kenny Omega, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson) beat The Don Callis Family (El Clon, Mark Davis, Jake Doyle) in a trios match. After the match, Lance Archer, Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta attack The Elite, and Romero and Beretta pull out a table from underneath the ring. All of a sudden, Adam Copeland shows up and fights the three of them before Christian Cage slowly heads to the ring. Copeland and Christian help clean house, but Christian inadvertently gets superkicked by The Young Bucks. Adam Copeland has a shoving match with The Young Bucks, allowing The Don Callis Family to go back on the attack. Omega is alone in the ring as the brawl makes its way backstage, then Will Ospreay shows up. Omega uses his Executive Vice President powers and sics security on Ospreay and tells him to get out like "the little English bitch that [he is]." Ospreay says "I'm gonna kick the shit out of you" and attacks Omega, but Omega hits a restrained Ospreay with the V-Trigger and tosses security out of the ring before giving him one last look at the AEW World Championship and putting him through the table from earlier with a One Winged Angel. At this point, Omega has snapped.

He says that Zilla made a big mistake and that he is not scared of him or his family before mockingly stating that he is happy Zilla is here because the ankle monitor is off and he can finally roam free. He claims that Zilla cost him #1 contendership for the NXT Championship, then says he is the #1 contender before Tony D'Angelo says that he has beaten all challengers for his title and will continue to do so. Cruz Montana suddenly shows up, and he reminds Grayson that he was on his back looking up at the lights before Zilla jumped him. Oba states that "the future is Oba Femi," and if Breakker has a problem with the answer, he can take it up with him any day, any time. Breakker proposes right here and right now, and Heyman says that if Breakker takes one more step towards Oba, he takes a permanent step away from him. Heyman says that WWE is a publicly traded company and the biggest wrestling company on the face of the planet, and that they answer to shareholders. Heyman admits that this will not a popular thing to say, especially in Buffalo, New York, and says that while two people in the ring understand, one is learning. Heyman says that the future does not propose an impromptu match and that the match must be prepared and marketed, and that he has already set this up for Sunday Night's Main Event in Breakker's hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Reigns recalls his and Solo's Tribal Combat match, which is revisited in video package form and interspersed with recent footage of Solo Sikoa being cheeky towards The Usos and Roman Reigns, leading to a "Solo" chant. Reigns then says the fans may think it is funny, then asks why Solo thinks this is funny before noticing his jewelry and stepping on his sunglasses after nudging them off. Reigns calls Jacob off, then tells Solo to wait on the mat while he has other business. Reigns praises The Usos and calls them his captains, and declares that if anyone disrespects them, they disrespect Reigns. Jimmy and Jey are both awarded black ula falas, then Reigns and The Usos focus on Solo again before LA Knight shows up. Knight sends The Usos out of the ring, then confronts Reigns. Jacob Fatu attacks Knight from behind, but Reigns stops him before he can lock in the Tongan Death Grip so he can hit Knight with a Superman Punch. Let's Go! - LFG recap for August 16, 2026 (Episode Two)

We see Layla Diggs sewing her own ring gear and Masyn Holiday painting. Both women talk about the pressure of being in the Performance Center as they do.

Coach Matt Bloom meets with Booker T, Kevin Owens and Bubba Ray Dudley. Kevn Owens gets Tate Wilder vs. Romemo Moreno. Bloom says Wilder is moving away from the cowboy gimmick, and that Romeo Moreno is still a work in progress with a lot of wasted movement. Bubba Ray gets Layla Diggs vs. Masyn Holiday. Coach Bloom wants to see Diggs as the heel, and says that both women need to work on their gas tanks and be able to go for longer in the ring. She says that Masyn's offense looks weaker the longer the match goes. Booker T gets Trill London vs. Harlem Lewis. Booker T sees Jeff Hardy in Trill London and that it will just be a part of him, which he feels will not be a bad thing as long as he learns to do the small things. Bloom says that Trill needs to be a student of the game more, and that Harlem Lewis needs to show more intensity.

Kevin Owens meets with Romeo Moreno and Tate Wilder. Both men note that Owens allows for some leeway in their matches, but that comes with pressure. Tate Wilder notes that Romeo Moreno has ten times the experience that he has and that he made sure that their story was being told. Before the match, Tate Wilder is met by his wife and daughter.

Tate Wilder beats Romeo Moreno. Wilder says he is at the beginning of something awesome and is glad to have his family there for him. After the match, Kevin Owens says that both men did well, but their opening lock-up did not feel intense enough, and notes that the set-up for both men's top rope moonsaults were a bit awkward. Coach Matt Bloom notes that Moreno "worked angry" tonight and that he needs to that. He wants to see both men work on their chops, especially when Moreno's first chop was great, and that both men did well tonight.

Bubba Ray Dudley meets with Layla Diggs and Masyn Holiday. Layla says that one of them eventually has to turn on each other, and that she and Bubba Ray are on the same page for what the story calls for. He also wants both women to work on their in-ring endurance so that Masyn is ready for the comeback, and Layla notes that tonight's match will be the night to bring the aggression and unfriendlinesss out. Bubba also brings up the idea of both women coming out for their entrance at the same time, and when the fans find out that they are not teaming up and are facing each other in a one-on-one match, they immediately boo upon coming to the revelation that the match is a singles match.

Layla Diggs beats Masyn Holiday. Upon the beginning of the match, Layla goes full heel on Masyn, much to the delight of Bubba Ray Dudley and the amazement of the fans. Later in the match, Masyna has Layla by the hair, but she cannot pull the trigger, and Layla wins with an inside cradle. After the match, Bubba Ray Dudley says that he loved the match due to the emotion throughout the match. Layla feels like she has unlocked a new character in herself and says that she has layers now. Coach Bloom says he enjoyed the match, and liked the bad side that Layla showed off. He also says that both women looked comfortable in the ring.

Booker T meets with Harlem Lewis and Trill London. Booker T says that Trill checks off a lot of boxes and looks the part, but feels that something is missing. He wants Trill to work on the basic and the little things, and says that if Trill can do that, he can get anywhere. Harlem and Trill also find out that the match will only be five minutes, and that there will be only so much they can do in the match. Before the match, Booker wants Harlem Lewis to be the ring general.

Harlem Lewis beats Trill London. After the match, Booker T says both men did well, but wants Trill to watch his body language and show some more "cat-like precision." Meanwhile, Harlem Lewis wants to be able to wrestle his own match without it being completely thrown out by a producer and forcing him to start from scratch.

Let's Go! - LFG recap for August 16, 2026 (Episode One)

Bayley Humphrey meets with NXT lead writer Johnny Russo, and finds out that "Myka Lockwood" and "Sage Blackwood" are available for wrestling names. Bayley picks "Myka Lockwood," especially given that "Myka" is more chantable.

Coach Matt Bloom meets with Kevin Owens, Bubba Ray Dudley and Booker T. Booker T gets Braxton Cole vs. Shady Elnahas. Bloom says Braxton needs character work, and that Shady needs to focus on his own moveset than someone else's. Owens gets Malik Blade vs. Chris Island. Bloom says Malik has the talent but not the charisma, and says that Island is inconsistent and underperformes when Bubba Ray Dudley gets Bayley Humprey - now Myka Lockwood - vs. PJ Vasa. Bloom wants both women to be physical, and that he wants confidence out of Myka and wants PJ Vasa to show more aggression in her entrance.

Booker T meets with Braxton Cole and Shady Elnahas. Elnahas says that he has been asked to be himself and incorporate judo into his moveset, and Booker T notes that Elnahas is "disconnected" as he wants him to also be able to wrestle. Elnahas notes that Booker T is good with the little things that make a match, and Braxton notes that Booker has given him some advice on things during a match, and that while he should be the smart one in the ring, he should not be smarter than the babyface. Braxton then mentions his book choice for the next match, which happens to be a book about judo, which he hopes will help tell the story for the match.

Braxton Cole beats Shady Elnahas. Before the match, Braxton Cole is hit with a "weiner" chant. Booker T notes that Braxton Cole's movement does not feel natural yet. Bubba Ray compliments Shady Elnahas' incorporation of judo in his moveset. Owens mentions that Elnahas lacks a bit of intensity. After the match, Elnahas felt he could have performed more cleanly, and Booker T wants Elnahas to show more intensity and aggression, and that he should have went after Braxton on the outside. Coach Bloom tells Braxton to have fun with the "weiner" chant during his entrance, and tells Elnahas him not to keep his face down during the selling.

Kevin Owens meets with Malik Blade and Chris Island, both of them for the first time. Malik Blade notes the advice that Owens gives, as it is more focused on what the main roster, where Owens is right now, wants. Owens wants Chris Island to be more gritty with his style if he will wrestle in jeans, as he comes across as a street fighter. Island says it is time to stop figuring things out and start settling in.

Malik Blade beats Chris Island. Owens feels that Chris Island's amateur wrestling background is not translating very well, and he and Booker T agree that Island and Malik have no energy to them. After the match, Owens tells Island and Malik that their match lacked a lot of energy and that Island's clothesline had the most energy and body language, and Owens mentions that while Island shows arrogance, he comes off as timid. Island agrees that he needs to do more. Owens wants Malik to be more energetic and confident, and to own the "Malik the Freak" chants. Coach Bloom mentions that the wrestling was good and had the fans' attention, but then the energy dropped and they needed to keep the fans. Bloom compliments the "Malik, you weak" chant from Island.

Backstage, Myka Lockwood meets with Tristan Angels near Tristan's car and mentions that she is debuting her new name tonight. Tristan rues the fact that "Bayley Humphrey" is on the other side of his car. Bubba Ray Dudley pictures a "Myka" chant, then asks both Myka Locwood and PJ Vasa what they fear in the ring most. PJ Vasa says she has fears about how Shawn Michaels will react behind the curtain, while Myka fears regretting that she could have done better in the ring. Bubba Ray Dudley says "fuck fear," as fear will make them second-guess themselves and they need to get rid of it quickly. He feels that they will both get to the next level, but it will take a lot of confidence and an overcoming of fears that will allow them to spread their wings and be free. He tells them to take their match seriously and bring the best out of each other. He says there needs to be a level of palatable intensity from the both of them.

Myka Lockwood beats PJ Vasa. After the match, Shawn Michaels is impressed with both women, as is Bubba Ray, but Bubba Ray wants both women need to work on the choke slam (Myka with hitting the move, PJ Vasa with getting higher and landing flat on her back). Coach Bloom is impressed with both Myka and PJ Vasa.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for August 14, 2026

General Manager Nick Aldis is in the ring to start tonight's show. He announces that Chelsea Green suffered an orbital bone injury last week, then introduces Chelsea Green to the ring. Aldis tells Chelsea that he has talked to medical and that he cannot in good conscience let her compete with a broken eye socket, and that she must relinquish the Interim WWE Women's Championship. Chelsea says she knew it was too good to be true and that she waited for the other shoe to drop, as every time she does something magical, it is always followed by something devastating. She says she was always the comic relief and never the champion. Chelsea says she has sacrificed much and has missed weddings and funerals to leave her all in the ring, and told herself that it was all worth it, as this moment would come, and that in the end, all that matters is what one thinks of one's self. She then says that until someone takes this off of her, the Interim WWE Women's Championship is hers, and that she thought that Aldis, of all people, would understand that before handing him the title and leaving. Aldis stops Chelsea and says he is doing the right thing as General Manager, but as a man, he does not give a damn about what medical says. He then gives Chelsea thirty days to get cleared, get a facemask and do what she must do to defend the title, and until then, the title is hers. Suddenly, Gunther shows up, and calls everything that has happened "a sob story nobody wants to hear" before stating it is time for more important things, and wants to know why Aldis pulled a stunt on him at SummerSlam. Aldis says they can handle this in the office, and right now, it is him and Chelsea. Gunther makes light of what Chelsea has just gone through as of late and brags about pulling double duty at SummerSlam and making a man tap out in front of his family. He then asks Aldis why Kevin Owens was added to his match. Aldis tells Gunther that he added him to Owens' match and that Owens' return was in the works for some time, then said he did the favor for Gunther and that Gunther could not get the job done. Chelsea laughs, and when Gunther tells her to shut up, Chelsea dares Gunther to puff his chest up and stroke his ego, then reminds him that she is the only champion in the ring. Matt Cardona suddenly shows up and stands up for Chelsea, and Gunther laughs at him, saying Cardona can do nothing to him even if he called Chelsea "every slut in the world." Chelsea asks Cardona to leave with her, and when Gunther calls it "a dog listening to its owner," Cardona turns around and jumps Gunther until two referees hold him back.

Gunther beats Matt Cardona, even after Cardona kicks Gunther in the groin following the distraction by Chelsea Green. After the match, The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend) show up, and Nia Jax mocks Chelsea Green for being injured and tells her she has a ticking clock, and asks her why she would waste time as a fighting champion and makes it clear she wants the WWE Women's Championship. Nia warns Chelsea that she has a history of breaking faces if she does not give her what she wants, and Tiffany Stratton gets in the ring only to be overpowered until referees step in.

Backstage, Charlotte Flair tells Alexa Bliss that she missed her, and the two of them find Tatum Paxley in a shrine for Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss, which Charlotte and Alexa find a little odd.

Backstage, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes meets with General Manager Nick Aldis regarding Randy Orton. Aldis says he has yet to meet with Orton, and proposes a match at Saturday Night's Main Event. Cody likes the idea, then runs into Sami Zayn, who says that he has to go through hoops to get what he wants and that Cody just has to "say when." Cody says Sami used to be the one who was able to do it, then says he owes nobody anything, and says tells Sami that if he wants to do something about it, they can do something about it. Sami says that the last time they were in the ring, he beat Cody in the middle of the ring cleanly for the WWE Championship. Cody asks Sami if he can do it again, and challenges him tonight. Sami says Cody picked the night that he cannot go, and Aldis asks Sami if he cannot go or will not go, and says that if Sami beats Cody tonight, he gets the winner of Kevin Owens and CM Punk. Aldis tells Sami that he made the choice at SummerSlam, and that he is giving him that choice again.

Baron Corbin retains the WWE United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes. After the match, Trick Williams shows up, and Lil' Yachty shows up from behind and hits Corbin with the Trick Stick. Corbin takes the Trick Stick from Yachty and forces him to retreat, but Trick runs into the ring and hits Corbin on the chin with the Trick Shot.

Backstage, Chelsea Green thanks Tiffany Stratton for standing up for her and tells her that she did not want her to get injured before her match, but Tiffany says she is fine and still competing tonight.

Kevin Owens heads to the ring. He is soon joined by CM Punk. Punk says Owens is a lot of things, but he is not a coward, and that whatever Owens has to say concerns him before telling him to say it to his face. Owens talks about how they were in the ring a foot away from each other last week, yet Punk had his back turned when he called him "a fat slob," and says that their history runs back twenty years. Owens talks about how Punk was the big top guy while he was trying to make a name for himself, and how one night, Punk chose to berate, insult and scream at him in a locker room full of his peers. He then says that is just one reason why he does not like, and says that the things Punk has done and said as well as how he has treated his friends, but Punk says being hated is the price he pays for not being one of them. Owens says this is another reason he does not like Punk, as while Punk has made amends with others in the locker room, he considers everything Punk does "performative" before calling him "a phony" and stating Punk had no choice but to come back to WWE. He says that Punk ruined things everywhere he went and that he does not like him for that, then says he did pretty well for himself for the last twelve years before getting injured. Punk says he was and still is happy, but Owens does not believe him. Punk asks if Owens would still be afforded those opportunities had he still been here the last twelve years, and Owens wants to know if Punk sees him as "a fat indy slob" and "a fan on the wrong side of the barricade." Punk asks if this is what he thinks of Owens or what Owens thinks of himself, then says that he has a locker room who wants to be champion and that he calls out Oba Femi only to get endometriosis instead. Punk says that he will not take Owens lightly and that while he sees a tough guy, but he sees a bum, as he avoids the hard work. Punk says he has evolved, and that if Owens did half the work he did, he would have the WWE Championship around his waist. Owens says he worked to not be like Punk, and that while he likes what he sees in the mirror, Punk does not, and now "the fat indy loser" is in the same ring as him facing him for the WWE Championship next week. Punk says he sees himself from twenty years ago in Owens, and Owens asks Punk if it bothers him that he never sought him out for guidance before regretting not punching him out twenty years ago. Punk says there is nothing but air and opportunity and that Owens can do it now, and Owens says that if he did it then, Punk would have ruined his career. He then says that he has waited twenty years and can wait seven more days to "beat [his] bitch ass" for the WWE title. Punk says that twenty years ago, Owens was a greenhorn who stepped into his locker room and thought he could be disrespectful to him and has cried about the consequences ever since, and that he will "put [his] fat ass to sleep."

Backstage, Finn Balor meets with General Manager Nick Aldis, saying a little bit of a heads-up before SummerSlam would have been nice. Suddenly, Gunther shows up and wants SummerSlam sorted out after being made to wrestle in street clothes. When he finds out from Aldis that he is interrupting Finn Balor, Gunther says he only sees Finn's shadow if he squints hard enough. Finn Balor takes exception to this and says he will do whatever it takes for another title shot, and if he has to go through Gunther, he will be happy to beat his ass and show who he really is.

The MFTs (Tama Tonga and Talla Tonga) beat the team of Damian Priest and R-Truth and The War Raiders (Ivar and Erik) in a Triple Threat tag team match to become the WWE Tag Team Champions!

Jacy Jayne beats Tiffany Stratton to become the WWE Women's United States Champion after Tiffany Stratton takes out Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid on the outside with the help of Chelsea Green only to run into a Rolling Encore back in the ring.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Jade Cargill, B-Fab and "Michin" Mia Yim. Cargill says it is funny that the women's division cannot mind their business, and they can line up so she can knock them down. B-Fab says they have another victim in Tatum Paxley, who they plan to give a proper welcome.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn ends in a no-contest when Randy Orton attacks Cody Rhodes before the bell. This leads to a brawl around the crowd and at ringside, and officials show up as Cody is propped up against ring steps leaning against the announce table. As Orton is about to swing a metal folding chair at Cody with his head on the non-steps end of the stairs for a makeshift Con-Chair-To, Cody kicks Orton in the groin and hits him with the chair. Cody then goes for the exact same Con-Chair-To on Orton only for the chair to be taken away from him by officials, and Cody attacks Orton again as the show fades to black.

Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for August 13, 2026

Ricky Sosa beats Brian Myers. During the match, Bear Bronson distracts the referee, allowing Cedric Alexander to show up. Sosa hits Cedric with the headshot only for Myers to take advantage, then Myers takes the TNA X-Divison Championship to use as a weapon only for Leon Slater to show up and take the championship away. This allows Ricky Sosa to hit the Heashot on Myers for the win. After the match, Leon Slater says that Cedric Alexander denied him a title shot two weeks ago because Cedric knows he is a "little bitch." Slater then challenges Cedric for the X-Division Championship, saying he will give whatever it takes. Cedric says he has no reason to be jealous of Slater, and says he will put the title on the line if Slater puts his record on the line. If Slater wins, he is champion again, but if Cedric wins, Slater's record is erased for good. Slater accepts the challenge, and says he will see Cedric at Lockdown. Cedric then says that when Slater's record is gone and he is forgotten, he only has himself to blame.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Rich Swann and BDE. Rich Swann says that he and BDE are ready to go against Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, Special Agent Zero, John Skyler), and says that Mustafa Ali thought he could control everything only to find out he could not. BDE says their partner has been waiting for the right moment to get his hands on Mustafa again. Swann says everyone is going to find out who their mystery tag team partner is very soon.

We hear from AJ Francis as he is in the recording studio. He is about to record vocals for a new song when Elias' guitar is heard. Elijah is on the other side of the booth, and he says there will be no excuses and only a steel cage and the judgment to come in "The Final Encore" at Lockdown. AJ Francis tries to run only to find out the booth is locked, then Elijah disappears.

Moose heads to the ring for "The Face of the Franchise's Speech." Moose mocks Frankie Kazarian throughout, showing off the sunglasses and scarf he stole from him which he says make him look like a douchebag. He tosses the sunglasses and scarf away. Moose calls the fans in Philadelphia his very special guests for tonight, then has some fun with the fans and gets a "Moose!" chant going, saying he will beat Kazarian at Lockdown before Kazarian shows up. Kazarian calls what is going on right now "stupid" and fails miserably to get the crowd on his side before declaring that he is royalty while Moose is "a failed football player" and stating that comparing the two of them is like comparing filet mignon to Wawa gas station food. This gets a brief "Wawa" chant started before Moose tells Kazarian that while he can insult him, he does not insult his guests, and that he will punch him in the face. Kazarian says he does what he wants when he does, then says Moose is a miserable failure as a husband and a father. Moose punches Kazarian in the face anyway, starting a brawl, and security has to jump in and separate both men. (One of the security guards holding Moose back is independent wrestler Lord Crewe.)

We see a video package chronicling the recent events between The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) and The Nemeths ("The Wanted Man" Nic and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth) leading up to tonight's TNA World Championship main event.

Rich Swann and BDE's mystery partner is revealed to be Trey Miguel, who has not been seen since injuring his knee in his match with Mustafa Ali for the TNA International Championship at Rebellion.

Rich Swann, BDE and Trey Miguel beat Order 4 (Mustafa Ali, Special Agent Zero, John Skyler) in a six-man tag match. After the match, Special Agent Zero almost lays out Trey Miguel, but retreats when Jason Hotch rushes into the ring.

Backstage, Xia Brookside is a jerk to the make-up artist as she is getting her make-up done.

As per the TNA Injury Report, Jason Hotch is cleared despite what he has gone through to win the TNA International Championship. Trey Miguel is cleared for competition with no restrictions after four months after clearing all medical evaluations. "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth is in "pristine condition" for tonight's TNA World Championship main event match.

Backstage, Xia Brookside finds out that her make-up has been made worse by the make-up artist, who is none other than Elayna Black, who suddenly shows up. Both women have a shoving match before brawling, and Brookside gets the upper hand before running away.

M by Elegance beats Indi Hartwell to advance to the finals of the TNA Knockouts Television Championship Tournament after Xia Brookside and Elayna Black brawl their way down the ramp and into the crowd, distracting Indi and allowing M to get the win.

We see a video package chronicling Harley Hudson's road to TNA and the events leading up to her career-threatening match with Alisha Edwards next week.

It is announced that Moose was found attacked backstage during the commercial break.

KC Navarro beats Eddie Edwards. During the match, Alisha throws her shoe in the ring, then distracts the referee. This allows Eddie to grab a shinai, but Navarro is able to use it against Eddie and hit Blessing in Disguise for the win. After the match, Bear Bronson and Brian Myers run into the ring and attack KC Navarro, and Myers grabs a metal folding chair from underneath the ring. The chair is wrap around Navarro's head, but Ricky Sosa, Jada Stone and Fabian Aichner run to the ring and make the save. Director of Authority Santino Marella then shows up. Santino admits he does not like the use of weapons, but says there will be a time and place for it, as Aichner, Navarro, Sosa and Jada will face The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson) in a Lethal Lockdown Match with weapons at Lockdown.

Backstage, Allie finds a message on a bathroom mirror: "The Struggle is Real."

"The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth retains the TNA World Championship against "The Enlightened Enigma" Jeff Hardy after getting the knees up to block the Swanton Bomb and countering the Twist of Fate with the Danger Zone.
