Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for September 2, 2026

Will Ospreay heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Ospreay apologizes for his rough appearance following a post-championship win bender before thanking the fans from those who have been there since the beginning from the ones who followed him since his AEW debut. He then addresses Kenny Omega, saying that they both took each other to the limit and that he had to keep fighting because he wanted the AEW World Championship. He says that Omega has been the best in the world for the last ten years and still is. Ospreay says that 364 days out of the year, Omega is a better wrestler than him, but it took one day for him to become champion. He then mentions that he and Omega have two wins apiece. Ospreay says he wanted Omega to recognize him as an equal, and he is fine with that tie, but if Omega is not satisfied, then he can name the time and place and they can sort this once and for all. Ospreay thinks about past AEW World Champions and how so many of them are his heroes, then announces that he is among them and that he has worked for this, stating that his heroes are now his rivals. He admits that he has struggled to say that he is the guy, but now that he is AEW World Champion, he is the standard, "the billy goat" and the best in the world now. Ospreay says that anyone who wants to take the title from him will have to walk through the same fire he did and see him at the end of the line. Ospreay thanks his teammates in United Empire (Henare, Francesco Akira, Callum Newman), then says that while United Empire will stay in Japan, he will start creating his own opportunities in AEW and create his own United Empire in the United States. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) suddenly show up with Ricochet interrupting, and Ricochet says Ospreay knows just as well as he does that they have unfinished business and acknowledges that Ospreay's match at All In was magic. Ricochet says that no one knows Ospreay like he does and that Ospreay would not be in the main event of All In without him, then demands the first opportunity at the AEW World Championship. Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd suddenly show up and interrupt, with Gabe Kidd saying that Ospreay has taken his chance and that it is nothing compared to what he will take from Ospreay and his family. Ricochet says he will get the first opportunity at the title, but Gabe Kidd says he wants Ospreay's life, and that he does not mind doing it five-on-one. United Empire shows up from behind Ospreay to match the numbers. Ospreay says they can go at it right now in their street clothes, or they can have an eight-man tag match in their gear for tonight's main event.

Swerve Strickland and The New Level (Kofi and "Awesome" Austin Creed) retain the AEW World Trios Championships against The Rascalz (Zachary Wentz, Dezmond Xavier, Myron Reed). After the match, The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) show up and congratulate The New Level as both teams have a brief staredown before The Young Bucks head to the ring.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) are in the ring after the commercial break. Matt addresses what happened at All In and asks Adam Copeland and Christian Cage if they had to beat them the way that they did and if they are happy with themselves and satisfied with how they did it, then want Copeland and Christian to answer to their faces. Instead of Copeland and Christian, FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway show up instead, and Stokely says that he cannot believe what he is hearing and that only two people matter in this ring: FTR. Stokely says The Young Bucks blew it at Revolution, blew it at All In and now want to blow it for a third time, then Dax says that "Daddy's home" and that The Young Bucks had their chance and lost again in front of friends and family. He says that FTR have beaten both The Young Bucks and the team of Copeland and Christians, then tells them to step aside so they can become five-time tag team champions. Nick says they have beaten FTR too, but have also made them say "I quit." Christian and Copeland arrive on the stage, and Christian says "They don't ask how you won; they ask who won." He reveals that his wrist and forearm were never hurt, and that they have both beaten FTR and The Young Bucks and stayed tag team champions. He is amazed that they are not so embarrassed that they would take a 50% pay cut and go somewhere else than be embarrassed by them again, then Copeland says that he is not pleased with how they won and says they are better than that. Christian says there is a way to make it right and entitles The Young Bucks as well as FTR to a tag team title rematch at All Out in a three-way Tables, Ladders and Chairs Match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Will Ospreay and United Empire (Henare, Francesco Akira, Callum Newman). Ospreay says there is no heat and that is time to move on, yet he has not found a fifth man. Callum Empire says he knows a guy who has been in the Empire for some time now: Andrade el Idolo. Andrade el Idolo comes out from behind a nearby door and congratulates Ospreay after saying "How you know?" and shaking hands with everyone else.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Darby Allin retains the TNT Championship against Mark Davis. After the match, Trent Beretta and Rocky "Azucar" Romero attack Darby. Steven Borden gets in the ring and makes quick work of both men, then stares down Mark Davis. Davis teases getting in the ring, then Borden is attacked from behind by a returning Josh Alexander. "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander puts Darby in an ankle lock, and Mark Davis hits Borden with a piledriver.

In backstage footage from All In, MJF says he had to win the Men's Casino Gauntlet Match to prove that he is the undisputed "One True Champion" and that he is in this position because of Will Ospreay. He says that Ospreay is what is wrong with his life, and if anybody else in AEW got screwed the way that he did, the match would have been tossed out. MJF says nobody likes him because he is a cold dose of reality nobody wants to deal with. He says that thinking of him is thinking of the other wrestlers that are on his level and that it makes people mad that he is the biggest needle mover in AEW and that there is nobody more important in AEW than him. MJF says payback is coming and that payback is a bitch, and that nobody will see it coming, and that by the time he finally does hand off some payback, everyone will be begging for it.

Megan Bayne beats Alex Windsor. During the match, Jamie Hayter stops Lena Kross from using one of the AEW Women's World Tag Team Championship, and the referee fails to see Megan Bayne do the same and hit Alex Windsor with one of them. This allows Bayne to hit Windsor with the Megabomb for the win. After the match, The Divine Dominion (Bayne and Kross) briefly attack Windsor before Hayter chases them out of the ring.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Chris Jericho, who mentions "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne getting pinned before Nick Wayne shows up, confronts Jericho and says he not only owning the ring, but taking Jericho out of the Men's Casino Gauntlet. Jericho is impressed with Nick Wayne's talent for his age, but says he is still only 21 years old. Jericho insults Nick Wayne's necklace, and this starts a brawl that ends with Nick Wayne kicking Jericho in the groin.

Mercedes Moné heads to the ring for her AEW Women's World Championship champion's celebration. Mercedes thanks the fans and says she has not stopped smiling since All In, and says that she wanted and needed to be in AEW because it was the only place where the women's revolution could be globalized, and now, she is AEW Women's World Champion. She says that she took a bet on herself and says that this is what happens when you stop asking permission to be great. Mercedes says she has travelled the world and won championship after championship to become great on her own terms. Mercedes announces that she is the first woman to win world championship in four major companies, and says that to get here, she needed to leave one thing behind: Willow Nightingale. She says she showed everyone who Willow Nightingale truly is at All In, and mentions that Willow Nightingale ruined her face. She thought that Willow was trying to stop her from her destiny, but she really pushed her towards it. Mercedes then mockingly thanks Willow, saying that she is the one smiling now after having taken Willow's smile and Willow's title and that the women's division is now standing in her kingdom. She says that this is her moment, then says that what she wants for the AEW Women's World Championship does not exist yet before stating that it soon will now that she is champion. Mercedes is suddenly interrupted by "The Toxic Spider" Thekla, who shows up in the crowd with her own tequila while impressed with Mercedes' promo. She congratulates Mercedes, then says that for all Mercedes has done, she has never been "toxic." She thanks Mercedes for what she did to Willow Nightingale, saying that Willow deserved to be humiliated, then notes that Mercedes like to swing the Women's World Championship between her legs and that "nobody swings it bigger than Thekla." Thekla also states that since she has been gone, Mercedes has been calling people "dumb bitches," and says that the only thing she hates more than dumb bitches is dumb bitches calling other people dumb bitches. She also says that even though Mercedes is CEO, she does not work for her. Thekla then raises a tequila toast to Mercedes, then tells Mercedes to let her know when she is ready to give her the Women's World Championship back.

We hear from Persephone and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. Britt Baker says she is here for a guarantee and that Persephone has a killer instinct to do whatever it takes to take what is hers. Britt says she has gone where no other champion has been before and that Persephone will take the TBS Championship where it has never been before. Persephone says that they did not need each other, but together, they are eternal and have no Achilles' heel. She says that she did everyone a favor and stole the gold Sunday night, and that on Saturday, she will defend the TBS Championship on Collision.

Jon Moxley beats AR Foxx in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Don Callis, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher and "The Jet" Kevin Knight. Knight says he will not be demeaned on national television, then brings up how Fletcher lost his match. Callis has to get both men to stop arguing, saying that will they have individual setbacks, he has a new plan to create some cohesion: putting Fletcher and Knight in a tag team match against The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson and Ace Austin) on Collision, much to the chagrin of both Fletcher and Knight. A grinning "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada shows up, saying "Family, Kyle...family," then walks off as Fletcher gets angry with him.

Will Ospreay, Andrade el Idolo and United Empire (Callum Newman, Henare, Francesco Akira) beat The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) and The Dogs (Gabe Kidd and Clark Connors) in a ten-man tag match. After the match, Andrade and Ospreay shake hands, then Gabe Kidd pulls Andrade out of the ring, starting a post-match brawl between the two teams that security cannot stop. Gabe Kidd hits Will Ospreay with a low blow, then The Death Riders show up. Moxley stops Kidd from using the chair not once, but twice, and Andrade takes out Gabe Kidd and chases him through the crowd. Moxley then stares Ospreay down before handing him the AEW World Championship before placing his hand on Ospreay's neck. It is then revealed that Ospreay will defend the AEW World Championship against Moxley at All Out. Both Moxley and Ospreay are shocked at this turn of events as the show ends.

Willow says that on Sunday, she will be walking into Wembley Stadium with her title and her smile and will walk out with her title still smiling.

In backstage footage from after Dynamite, we hear from Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir. Moxley says that he has watched Nigel MuGuinness survive the Continental Challenge Cup. He says that unlike the fantasy where McGuinness wins, he will rip McGuinness's arm off in the real world. He says that McGuinness will not get him before he gets McGuinness, then says a man is not free until they have nothing to prove, nothing to gain, nothing to lose and nothing to hide and that they will find out who this applies to at Wembley Stadium.

McGuinness says that "The Artful Dodger" will steal the Continental Championship from Jon Moxley and bring it home.

The Bang Bang Gang ("Switchblade" Jay White, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn), Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) and "Hangman" Adam Page beat The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson) and The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) in a twelve-man tag match after Hangman misses the first Buckshot Lariat and Switchblade does not hit the first Blade Runner. Lethal manages to get behind Switchblade and hold him from behind, but Switchblade ducks the second Buckshot Lariat, which hits Lethal, before hitting the Blade Runner the second time around to get the win. After the match, The Dogs (Gabe Kidd, Clark Connors, David Finlay) and The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Daniel Garcia, "The Problem" Marina Shafir) go on the attack on the winning team, but The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) shows up to even the numbers.

As Skye and Harley fight over it, the referee takes it away, and Julia sneaks another Artist of Stardom Championship belt into the ring, which Skye smacks into Harley's head for the win.

We hear from Maya World, who says that Persephone embarrassed her when she hit her with the TBS Championship, then tells her that she can beat her ass for free. She then challenges Persephone to a match on the All In Buy-In so she can prove that it is still her world.

Knight says that he proved he is willing to go all the way after what happened last week. Knight says that Darby brought this onto himself before bragging that he sent Darby to the ER three different times and that Wembley Stadium will be no different. All of a sudden, someone in a black hoodie gets in the ring, but instead of Darby, it is Steven Borden, the son of Sting. Callis calls the attack off when he recognizes Borden, and says that he just wants to talk. Callis says that everyone is stating that Borden has the potential to be as good as his father, but Callis says he could be even better, which he says will not happen if he keeps listening to Darby Allin. Callis lists off Borden's athletic records from his football career, then says that The Don Callis Family is not just a family, but a star factory, and that he can mold Borden into a champion, saying Borden scouted him, not the other way around. Callis says that Borden came to the ring to join his family, as he did not come to the ring to get his ass kicked. Borden takes the microphone and tells Callis and Knight that Darby Allin will not only be at Wembley Stadium, but that Darby will take the TNT title. Knight cheap shots Borden with a clothesline before smacking him in the face with the TNT Championship. As The Don Callis Family leaves, "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher shows up to guest on commentary for the next match.

He says he has been gone for four months, and when he was not in rehab, he was planting, and when All Elite Wrestling decided to come to Roanoke, Virginia, it was important to be here, as he wanted to plant one more seed. Hangman admits he does not know what this will bloom into or if it will grow at all, then mentions losing any chance at challenging for the AEW World Championship when he lost to MJF. He thinks about what could have gone wrong before admitting that he lost, and says that he is a man of his word as the stipulation lives in him and not in ink in a document in a file cabinet somewhere, and says he will never challenge for the AEW World Championship again. Hangman then talks about Kenny Omega winning the title, saying it was important to him as well as his message to never quite and always run the race afterwards. Hangman says there are miles and miles of track in front of him, and mentions the TNT Championship, the National Championship, the Continental Championship, and the International Championship. Hangman then asks who he is without the World Championship after seven years of chasing it, and while he does not know, everyone is going to find out. Willow talks about her shoulder injury from two months ago that forced her to relinquish the TBS Championship and drop out of the Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and congratulates Hikaru Shida and Mercedes Moné for stepping up and succeeding. She admits that being sidelined during Double or Nothing broke her heart, but she did not defend the TBS Championship ten times just to let her Wembley Aren adreams die just because her shoulder could not hold the weight of the world. Willow says that she was trying to come back better, and when the recent Casino Gauntlet Match from Wednesday was announced, that was her cue to come back, and now she has one more shot at glory. She then says that "The Toxic Spider" Thekla made a mistake when she attacked her, then says that the worst day of her career will not define the rest of it and that nothing will stop her from beating Thekla and becoming Women's World Champion. She tells Mercedes Mone that she does not trust presidents or CEOs, and says that Willow Nightingale got injured on purpose to skip the line and face her. She then says that Willow has never been a Woman's World Champion because she pretends to be a baby while she is "a real woman," and tells Willow to keep being positive, as "the only thing funnier than a dumb bitch is a happy one."

We hear from The Bang Bang Gang (Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn, Ace Austin), who have teamed up with Angels of Assisi pet adoption center in Roanoke, Virginia to give two dogs (ironically named "Finlay" and "Clark") loving homes while mocking The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay).

"The Machine" Brian Cage beats Zachary Wentz. After the match, Trent Beretta says he challenged Darby Allin to a match and that he is here and ready to fight, yet Darby is not even in the state, then demands that the referee get in the ring and raise his hand so he can get a win. Claudio says that Brody King always brings the bark, then warns him that he must bring the bite in the Owen Hart Tournament. He says that Moxley is the ace of AEW, despite his tactics, and he has respect for him. MJF angrily heads to the ring with purpose to start tonight's show. He says he is not like "[the fans'] paper champion" Darby Allin and demands the respect he deserves, then calls losing the AEW World Championship to Darby "the Seattle Screwjob." MJF says that he was in a war with Kenny Omega at Dynasty, then three days later he shows up and finds out that he is wrestling Darby Allin with little notice and is given a fast count by referee Aubrey Edwards. He calls Darby "a dirty little cheat" who could not beat him if he was either 100% or prepared, then says that he is the most complete professional wrestler in the history of the sport who has beaten every top name the business has to offer. He also states that he is the man who made sure that "Hangman" Adam Page can never be AEW World Champion again and the one to kick out of the One Winged Angel like it was nothing, for he is the best of the world. MJF then says he does not care about Darby's match with Tommaso Ciampa and demands that Darby come to the ring and return the AEW World Championship right now. Instead of Darby, however, "The Jet" Kevin Knight shows up. Knight says that MJF is whining like a little bitch, then says things are about to get real before stating that a real champion is willing to defend their title at any time, and reminds MJF that he had to cheat to beat him. He also says that he should be a double champion right now. MJF goes to mock Kevin Knight, then says he beat him with a Heatseeker for an easy win and that if anyone should be World Champion, it is him and him alone. MJF goes on to say call Knight "a TNT Championship-type" and "someone with a ceiling" who will never be AEW World Champion, and someone who should know better than to step in his ring and breath in his air. He also states that Knight should not even mention the AEW World Championship, which causes Knight to tell MJF to shut him mouth before he sends him packing, as anyone can look at him and see a goldmine. Knight also states that some of the best have held the TNT Championship and that it is surprising that MJF has never held it, and decides that he should hand MJF an ass-whupping. MJF wants to know what is in it for him, but then believes that Knight has sold him on the TNT Championship and that he would like to turn Knight's recent high into "straight-up depression." He dares Knight to put the TNT Championship on the line. Knight accepts the challenge, and MJF calls for a referee. This starts a championship match, but MJF then rolls out of the ring and walks off, telling Knight he will dance with the Devil next week.

Jericho reveals that he not only has patented that statement, but put it on a shirt. Ricochet says that no matter who Jericho teams up with, he will be beating him with the "Rico-Sault." Jericho says he does not have to look far for partners, as he knows a few people who do not like Ricochet.

Brody King beats Lio Rush. After the match, Brody King says that he will be keeping a close eye on tonight's AEW World Championship. He says that if Ciampa wins it, he will have earned it, and while he is proud of Darby Allin, he is not proud enough to bring the violence.

Backstage, we hear from Adam Copeland. Adam Copeland states that he and Christian Cage deserve another tag team title shot and that he has come up with a plan that not even FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) can refuse. He challenges FTR to a tag team title match in a New York Street Fight at Double or Nothing, and if FTR beats them, he and Christian will retire as a tag team. He knows what FTR's answer should be if they are the best, unless they know deep down that he and Christian are better. Darby takes the microphone and says that it took everything to become AEW World Champion, and mentions how he had his first match in Portland, Oregon. He says this could all end in a matter of moments and calls the title "a fifteen-minute ride." He says that he has seen what the AEW World Championship has done to men and their egos, then dedicates the reign to his family, his fans and those who helped him along the way, then MJF angrily shows up. MJF says that Darby is undeserving of the AEW World Championship, and Darby refuses to not only give MJF the title back, but he refuses to give him a rematch until MJF puts something of his own on the line. Darby says that he will put his body on the line every night for the AEW World Championship, starting with Tommaso Ciampa, then tells MJF to get out of his ring. Tommaso Ciampa makes his way to the ring, and MJF says something to him before Ciampa kisses MJF on the cheek and gets in the ring.

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway head to the ring. Dax says he has been wracking his brain trying to understand why The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) attacked them from behind only to realize that in 2016, they were the best tag team in the world and even coined the FTR name. He then says that The Young Bucks are now in second place behind them. Stokely says the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, which is where they are with The Young Bucks. MJF also hates the "Cowboy Shit" chant and the fact that Hangman holds two wins over him, and says that Hangman is "a lucky shot" who is nowhere near better than him. He then says that something is off about Hangman and that he can smell it, and says that Hangman is in his own head after being at the top of the mountain twice only to crumble under pressure. MJF then proposes that if Hangman were to become world champion and crumble a third time, he would be exposed as a fraud, and while he feels Hangman is a lucky shot, he is all out of bullets, and he looks forward to ending "the myth of Hangman and his cowboy shit." Hangman says that the fans carried him to the World Championship, especially as he beat the dogshit out of MJF. He says that if anyone is a lucky shot, it is the man who had a guaranteed shot and sat on it until he waited until the last second, kicked him in the balls, and collected the spoils of greater men. Hangman says that as much as MJF hates him, he hates MJF worse, not just because of his lies and deceit, but because he has never met someone more like him. He says that MJF is desperate for love and acceptance and wants to make his mark, which reminds MJF of himself. He says that he wants to end this for good at Revolution, and that MJF also feels that they cannot have a regular wrestling match. Hangman tells MJF to think of a stipulation, then lets the fans think of what the match should be. MJF says Hangman is out of his mind if he wants something other than a regular wrestling match. Hangman says he knew MJF would says that because he is scared and a coward, and agrees to give his word that if he does not win, then he will never challenge for the World Championship ever again. MJF tells Hangman that he has a deal, but as far as his stipulation goes, he thinks things through, and he needs a week to think over his stipulation, as he does not shoot first and ask questions later like Hangman. Swerve says that Prince Nana is back at home safeguarding the Embassy robe so that he can be here to take care of business, then states that the AEW World Championship is the top prize in the world and that one must be elite to challenge for it. He talks about how he was "all elite" and how he won the title at last year's Dynasty, then states that he will win the title at this year's Dynasty and be all elite once again. Swerve mentions the street fight between Adam Copeland and Jon Moxley for the AEW World Championship on next week's Dynamite, and mentions his history with Copeland, stating that one does not become dangerous without learning from him. He then says that Copeland is in his way, and while Copeland is a legend right now, he will mow him down. As for Moxley, he used to think they were cut from the same cloth until Moxley thought lesser of the AEW locker room. Swerve says that Moxley does not believe what he is saying and that everyone has to listen to the same drivel every week, and that all he sees is true desperation, which is all Moxley will have to hold on to. Swerve then proclaims that in three weeks' time, whether he faces Moxley or Copeland, the "Dynasty Era" continues when he takes the AEW World Championship and makes AEW his house again. All of a sudden, Swerve is attacked from behind with a crowbar by Moxley, who then curb stomps Swerve into the mat before leaving the building and stating that this is a free lesson and that respect will get nobody anywhere. Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for February 5, 2025

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Switchblade" Jay White, who says that there is no history between himself and Adam Copeland but plenty of history with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler). He says he must rely upon FTR and those he would not usually rely on to take on The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir), as they always seem to have the numbers game. The Death Riders show up, but behind them are Rated FTR (Copeland, Harwood, Wheeler). This leads to a backstage brawl. The brawl soon makes it way to the stage and the crowd before making it to the ring. The Death Riders get the upper hand before Copeland hits Claudio with a Spear, causing The Death Riders to flee through the crowd. Copeland demands an answer from Moxley regarding his challenge for the AEW World Championship at Revolution, and Moxley grabs a microphone and says no, saying Copeland gets and deserves nothing. Switchblade then challenges Moxley and Claudio to a two-on-two Brisbane Brawl at Grand Slam Australia, threatening to make Moxley choke in a pool of his own blood in the process.

Before the next match, Don Callis is showered with "Fuck Don Callis" chants before announcing that Ospreay's opponent tonight is someone Ospreay has traveled up and down the road with and has called "brother:" Mark Davis, who Callis calls "The Ospreay Killer." Ospreay is shocked, then furious.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Will Ospreay beats Mark Davis after the ref stops Davis from using a turnbuckle that Davis himself exposed, allowing Ospreay to hit the Hidden Blade for the win.

After the match, Ospreay says that since Don Callis wants to crash parties and be a bit of a party pooper, he has a tag team partner for Grand Slam Australia: Kenny Omega. Callis flees as Omega shows up. Omega thanks the Atlanta, Georgia crowd for the warm reception, then addresses Mark Davis, who is sitting near the ramp, saying he has no idea what Callis has on him and that while it may seem hopeless, help is there, and there are people he can trust. Callis is then seen at the stage as Omega announces his return to AEW at Grand Slam Australia, then admits hearing the fans gave him the itch and made him want to come out here as "The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita and "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher show up. Omega dares them to get in the ring if they want to fight right now, or else they should prepare themselves for Grand Slam Australia. He says it has been a long time since people could really feel what he was feeling in the last few years, and now that he is back, everyone will feel what he is feeling, and that Grand Slam Australia will be the match to prove that the future lies in the company and in the ring.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading to Swerve Strickland vs. Ricochet later tonight.

The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) head to the ring. Rapper Westside Gunn is seen in the front row. MVP gives props to Private Party, saying that they were two young people with a bright future who were the wrong people at the wrong time, then puts the rest of the locker room on notice, saying they will hurt people and take their titles. He says that until then, they are open for business, and as he welcomes any team to face them for the tag team titles, The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn) suddenly show up. Austin Gunn says they are here to talk business, and MVP allows them to do so in the ring as they are conducting themselves as men, which they do. Austin says they have been waiting for two years for their rematch and that The Hurt Syndicate may have won the title, but they are back. Colten congratulates The Hurt Syndicate on doing their job, then says their job is to take the tag titles back. MVP says he respects The Gunns' moxy as well as their father, then says he is about business as he shakes their hands, and announces that next week, Lashley and Shelton will defend against "a couple of Ass Boys." As The Hurt Syndicate leaves, Austin Gunn takes offense to that statement while accepting the challenge.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Harley Cameron and the Mercedes Moné puppet. The puppet announces that Harley Cameron will be in concert next week, then Harley entertains the idea before the real Mercedes interrupts. Harley almost flips Mercedes off, but Renee makes her put the middle finger away.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Hangman" Adam Page, who says that his coming after Swerve Strickland was "a moment of weakness" and a "mistake." He also says that "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels overstepped and overplayed his hand, and that he did exactly what he told him he would do and that Daniels will never be able to wrestle again. Max Caster shows up and tells Hangman to wrap the interview up, then asks what it would be like if he put Anthony Bowens or Billy Gunn in the hospital. Hangman says he would love to put someone in the hospital tonight, then implies that he will do it to Caster. Caster laves, but Hangman follows him.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

During the match, Buddy Matthews is briefly distracted by "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada's entrance theme.

Christian Cage almost enters the room with Mother Wayne, but thinks better of it as Wayne and Sabian get beaten up. When Hook and Joe leave, Christian and Mother Wayne get in the room and shove the cameraman away.

MJF heads to the ring. He says all "geriatric" Jeff Jarrett had to do was stay out of his way, but he could not do that, and he had to teach him a lesson: the E in AEW stands for "Elite," not "Elderly." He says that now that "that carny schmuck" is out of the way, he is one step closer to regaining the AEW World Championship, as nobody is on the level of The Devil. Suddenly, Max Caster gets in the ring and says "Hangman." "Hangman" Adam Page suddenly shows up and confronts MJF briefly before going after Max Caster in the crowd. MJF says that nobody is on the level of The Devil again before being interrupted a second time, this time by "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes. Rhodes says MJF does nothing but degrade and badmouth people, especially people who are dead like Owen Hart, and tells MJF to keep Owen's name out of his mouth. He also tells him to stop mentioning people's wives and past issues, and tells him that he is not The Devil and that he stayed sober for 16 years and has stared The Devil in the eye. He says he is able to hang with the locker room because he has survived everything MJF can even think of. Dustin says that when he is gone, the mold will be broken forever, as he is better MJF and that MJF's "punk bitch ass" knows it. MJF brings up Dustin's drug problems again, and says that Dustin took 37 years of blood, sweat and tears to get out from underneath his father's shadow. MJF then says that after all that hard work and sacrifice, Dustin then lives in "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes' shadow. Dustin punches MJF, starting a brawl that security quickly has to stop. MJF is kept out of the ring, but that does not last, and MJF runs back into the ring to kick Dustin in the groin. When Christopher Daniels confronts MJF on his way out, MJF says "Hangman sure did a number on you, didn't he?"

Before the next match, "Timeless" Toni Storm is revealed to be playing the role of "The Glamour" Mariah May, much to the chagrin of the real Mariah May, who guests on commentary for the next match.

"Timeless" Toni Storm beats Queen Aminata with May Day. After the match, Renee Paquette interviews Toni Storm, who mocks "The Glamour" Mariah May before the real Mariah May confronts her. Mariah May then gets off the ring apron and leaves in a huff with the AEW Women's World Championship.

Backstage, we hear from "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes, saying people have been chipping away at him trying to put him in the ground, but he is still here and he lives for blood, sweat and tears. He then says that next week, he will beat MJF's ass.

We see a video package chronicling the recent events between "The Redwood" Big Bill and Powerhouse Hobbs.

We hear from The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) for a live edition of New York Minute. Chris Jericho says he has no idea how Bandido considers himself a wanted man when nobody wants him in AEW, then says that he will turn this into a teachable moment and says that next week, he will double the $100,000 bounty on Bandido's head if Bryan Keith can take Bandido out like Big Bill did Powerhouse Hobbs. Powerhouse Hobbs soon shows up and brawls with Big Bill, and The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) show up to even the numbers game. Security soon shows up to stop the brawl, and Big Bill and Hobbs both grab a security guard and choke slam them. Both Big Bill and Hobbs then get in the ring and fight, and both men soon tumble over the announce table before taking out a cameraman.

Backstage, security ejects The Learning Tree ("The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, "The Redwood" Big Bill, "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith) from the building.

Ricochet beats Swerve Strickland after inadvertently hitting Swerve low as Swerve goes for the Swerve Stomp. After the match, Ricochet takes Swerve's entrance robe away from Prince Nana and walks off with it.
