We see a vignette for Lio Rush that includes a lot of horror-inspired imagery and black ooze.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling puts The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese, Ariya Daivari, Stori Denali) before stating that Beef is Beef. He says Beef picked a perfect time to ride their coattails, as The Premier Athletes get to put their first tag team titles and that the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships will not fit the waists of either Beef or the fans in attendance. Sterling then demands the people say that The Premier Athletes rule only to be told that they suck.

Dalton Castle and The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) retain the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships against The Premier Athletes (Tony Nese and Ariya Daivari) and Beef. During the match, Beef is handed one of the Six-Man titles to use as a weapon, but he refuses to use it after some hesitation. After the match, Ian Riccaboni interviews Dalton Castle and The Outrunners. Magnum says that nothing succeeds like success, and Turbo says that somebody is jealous of their success. Dalton Castle says the three of them are the greatest trio to ever step foot in a wrestling ring, but Riccaboni reminds Dalton that The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson) is undefeated. Dalton is angry at the mere mention of them, and Turbo says that not even he can take the Six-Man title off his waist.

Angelico beats Tim Bosby by submission with the Navarro Death Roll.

"Main Man" Oro beats Mark Davidson.

The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) beats The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry) after Matt Taven puts his feet on the top rope for leverage while pinning JD Drake.

We hear from AR Fox, who says that last time he was in Ring of Honor, he was champion, but he is no longer ROH World Champion. Alan Angels shows up and mocks AR Fox, saying he is just like everyone else in the wrestling business. He talks about how Fox trained him ten years ago, then says that Fox did not care and that while he took his students on the road with him, he did not take him. Angels says he did well for himself and got signed before All Elite Wrestling knew who he was, then says he has been and is still taking opportunities, and wants AR Fox to wrestle him. He says that when he does, it will not be student vs. teacher, but "equal versus equal." AR Fox then stops Angels from leaving just so he can punk him out.

AR Fox beats Alan Angels.

In footage from Arena Mexico for CMLL, El Sky Team (Mistico and Mascara Dorada) retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships against Los Hermanos Chavez (Angel de Oro and Angel de Plata) by submission with La Mistica from Mistico to Angel del Oro.

Caprice Coleman chops it up with Sammy Guevara. Guevara says he has been in the mids of the people more than anywhere else, because no matter what the fans say about him, they are talking about him. He sayshe is one of the best tag team wrestlers on the planet after having three different reigns with the tag team titles without ever losing them. He compares himself to water and that no matter who he teams with, he is "a universal wrestler" and everything one looks for in a professional wrestler, yet he feels a lack of respect from some people. He says that he is at war with his old self and the self he is trying to be, and credits his daughter Luna with trying to be a better person. Guevara also says that he is still trying to become a world champion, and that one day, he will have a world title in one arm and his daughter in the other.

Athena says that she was just tired of putting her best foot forward only to not go anywhere and that she did not become who she was until early into her title reign. She also talks about nobody thinks about the old guard when Ring of Honor is mentioned any more and that she is the only person mentioned regarding ROH nowadays. Athena says that people discredit her because she is in Ring of Honor and because people want to see her in other companies, and that she treats every match that she has like it is her last and she does not want to be disappointed with the last match that she has in case her career ends.

Maya World beats Trish Adora with an inside cradle.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling announces that for the first time in the fans' lives, the fans made the correct executive decision to come here tonight, as on Sunday, they can tell their grandchildren about how they bore witness to the beginning of greatness and tells them that "Athletes Rule."

After the match, Castle and The Outrrners are attacked by The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson). When Ian Riccaboni interviews The Lethal Twist, Lethal tells him to shut up before Blake Christian declares that he belongs in the main event and is the next ROH World Champion before stating that The Lethal Twist needs to show the world that they are the most crative, innovative, talented, exciting team in ROH, especially compared to Dalton Castle and The Outrunners. He also says that nobody is on their levels, and tells Riccaboni to find three guys before they take their frustrations out on him.

Hechicero beats Komander to face Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship next week after El Clon shoves Komander off the top rope as the referee checks on Hechicero.

We see footage of "The Acclaimed" ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) doing some team-building exercises. (One of them involves a man in a Santa Claus suit, who is played by Fallah Bahh.)

Tony Schiavone interviews Eddie Kingston and Ortiz in the ring. After wishing two fans with birthday signs a happy birthday and thanking them for coming out tonight, Eddie says that he is glad Ortiz is back. Eddie calls Ortiz his "right hand" that "keeps [him] calm and cool" and that he will be around a little bit longer thanks to him, then Ortiz says Eddie has the gift of gab while he has the gift of putting his foot up people's asses. Ortiz says that they are coming for Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake), as does Eddie.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Big Bill and "The Outlaw" Bryan Keith. Big Bill says JetSpeed ("The Jet" Kevin Knight and "Speedball" Mike Bailey) have made a lot of enemies, and that he has heard from a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy that there is a bounty on them. Bryan Keith says that he is taking that bounty and that when the money comes calling, it is time to pay up.

Drake asks Eddie how much of a hero he will be when they taret his leg, and how much of a Good Samaritan Ortiz will be when he is dragged into the deep end.

Shelton Benjamin beats Dante Martin. Shortly after the beginning of the match, Shelton shoves Dante off the top rope into the barricade with authority, potentially injuring him. During the commercial break, MVP tells Dante Martin to stay down so he does not get hurt, but when MVP lays down the microphone, Dante tells Shelton Benjamin that his mother did not raise a bitch before asking if his mother did the same. After the match, MVP demands a round of applause for Dante Martin, saying Scorpio Sky called in sick when he found out he was facing Shelton Benjamin. Shelton and Dante shake hands, then MVP demands a round of applause for Shelton. MVP says Shelton does not need him to talk him up as his accomplishments speak for him, which leads to Jon Moxley. He gives credit where credit is due to Moxley for winning the Continental Championship, and while he considers Moxley a cult-like leader for The Death Riders (Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Daniel Garcia, PAC, Marina Shafir), The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin) just wants to make money. MVP knows that Moxley loves pain and bleeding like a stuck pig, but calls Shelton "the apex predator" and declares that while Moxley is dangerous, Shelton is even more dangerous, as while Moxley is driven by ideology, he is not Shelton Benjamin. MVP says Moxley will get hurt very badly, because The Hurt Syndicate hurts people.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Lexy Nair interviews Bandido and Sammy Guevara. Guevara is irritated that Bandido is getting a shot at his destiny at his expense, and challenges him to a match next week and do something so heinous that he will take his place as ROH World Champion. "Timeless" Toni Storm appears in one of the box seats to start tonight's show. Toni says so many have taken a shot at her in the box seat that she feels like Abraham Lincoln, then says she will never forget her first time, as it was messy, sweaty, and painful, but she only wanted more. She says she was hooked, then it only became more risky, first one at a time, then two, then three, incorporating random objects, all the while being watched by perverts. She says that one day, it will only break her body and soil her soul, but she knows it is what she was born to do, but instead of sexual intercourse, she is referring to wrestling, as "the best bang" is nothing compared to fighting for the AEW World Women's Championship. She says she is not waiting for a Hayter or a CEO, then tells the challengers to line up because "baby wants to binge." She then says "So spit on it and sit on it, and let's get timeless!"

Suddenly, Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) show up to mock them and tell them that they have gotten soft and have forgotten what it is like to fight for their spot, which they are ready to remind them of. O'Reilly and Roddy take this as a challenge and accept that challenge.

Zach Gowen is seen in the crowd.

Ricochet beats Angelico. After the match, Ricochet dares everyone to boo him and says his boos mean nothing, because they cheer for the Detroit Lions and are "dumb as hell" for it. He says that if the fans were smart, they would be cheering for him. He says he has been in AEW for less than a year and has beaten most of everyone's favorites, then notices Zach Gowen before making fun of him in front of his sons and asks Gowen if he "does not have a leg in the fight anymore." Three security guards approaches Ricochet as he shoves Gowen repeatedly, then hits all the security guards with the microphone and throws two of them around before throwing the third in the ring and cutting his hair witthe golden scissors. Gowens jumps the barricade, gets in ther ing and takes the scissors away, but Ricochet kicks in the right knee and knocks him down before hitting him with the Spirit Gun, pulling off his prosthetic leg and walking off with it.

He says that no matter happens to him in the steel cage, he has been through worse, and he does not need to be feared or respected by Joe or anyone; he just needs Joe to show up. Moxley says he does not get along with the rest of the world because he is not like the rest of the world, and next week, there is nowhere else he would rather be than locked in a steel cage with the AEW World Championship in the balance against Samoa Joe. Moxley states that he did not build his foundation on sand, and that all that matters is the last man standing.

Kaun calls out The Learning Tree ("The Redwood" Big Bill and "The Bad Apple" Bryan Keith), saying that they will not walk through the gates unscathed and that paradise has to earned, and that the gates will stop them in their tracks. Toa Liona says that this time, they will not do this in the parking lot, and that they will do this right here, right now. The Learning Tree shows up and brawls with Gates of Agony, who put them both through tables off the sides of the entrance ramp.

Dax Harwood says AEW has been built on the back of good tag team wrestling, and says that while it would be easy for him to say FTR is the greatest tag team of all time and that they will win the tournament and the titles, but he is not a liar. He feels that FTR may not be worthy of being in the tournament, but if they are allowed in it, they will give their all for the fans and ultimately become the first-ever three-time tag team champs in AEW history. Suddenly, The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) shows up and introduces themselves to the AEW crowd. Carlie Bravo says that they respect FTR and everything they have done before shaking their hands in the name of good sportsmanship.
