Generation NXT - NXT recap for April 1, 2025

Stephanie Vaquer heads to the ring to start tonight's show. General Manager Ava is also in the ring, and she says that Vaquer has proven why she is "La Primera" since she showed up and showed what caliber of Superstar she is. She then says that both titles must be defended frequently, and that they have both decided that the women's North American Championship will be vacated, with a new champion decided in a ladder match at Stand & Deliver. Qualifiers for the ladder match will start onight. Stephanie says this is not a popular decision, but she wants to push the women's division, not stop it, and she will give up the Women's North American Championship on the condition that she faces Jordynne Grace for the Women's Championship at Stand & Deliver. Ava makes it so, then Jordynne Grace shows up and talks about their match before Jaida Parker shows up. Jaida says that if Jordynne had stayed down, she would have beaten Vaquer for the NXT Women's Championship. Jordynne tells Jaida to go to the back of the line when Jaida talks about when she and Vaquer run it back, and Vaquer tells Jordynne and Jaida to work things out. This leads to a brawl between Jordynne and Jaida that security quickly breaks up.

We hear from Trick Williams, who tells Oba Femi that he knows where to find him on Tuesday. Afterwards, Sarah Schreiber interviews Oba Femi, who says that Trick answers to him and will learn the hard way why he should not call him out.

Backstage, the announcement of qualifiers for the ladder match for the Women's North American Championship leads to the whole women's division arguing.

Zaria beats Lash Legend to qualify for the NXT Women's North American Championship Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver.

Backstage, Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura are met and mocked by Wes Lee, Tyson Dupont and Tyriek Igwe. Wes Lee tells Briggs and Inamura to lower their horizons. Inamura says he used to like what Wes Lee stood for and that he fought with honor, and tonight, he fights him. Wes Lee accepts his challenge.

Backstage, Kelani Jordan talks to General Manager Ava about how she will become Women's North American Champion again when Roxanne Perez shows up and talks about how she will become a Triple Crown Champion. Jordan says she will get hers, and if she has to beat her, so be it. Roxanne praises Kelani for having a backbone, then Ava puts them in a ladder match qualifier.

The D'Angelo Family meet with info on Dark State. The members of Dark State are Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James, and Saquon Shuggars. After learning about their academic and sports backgrounds, D'Angelo says they are dealing with legit badasses, and asks Stacks to trust him like he trusted Stacks.

Backstage, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger get tag team - and fashion - advice from Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince), who say that if one wants to be a star, they must like a star. That lasts until No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, Tavion Heights) makes fun of how they look.

Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and "The Smoke Show" Ricky Smokes) is seen in the front row before the next match.

No Quarter Catch Crew (Myles Borne and Tavion Heights) beat Hank Walker and Tank Ledger after Myles Borne puts a stop to Hank and Tank hitting Spilt Milk.

Trick Williams heads to the ring. Trick says he has called Oba Femi out, but has not heard from him since, and while Oba may be NXT Champion, he is still the man in NXT. He says that this success has come at a cost and that people do not want him back at the top, then Je'Von Evans shows up. Trick calls what happened to Je'Von "collateral damage" and that it is time for "the grown folks" to start talking, then Je'Von asks Trick how he knew when it was his time, then talks about Trick became the man and that he does not have to break out of someone's shadow. Trick tells Je'Von that winning the title is one thing, but keeping it is something else, and that he is one of one. Je'Von says Trick does not know who he is, and says he is Carmelo Hayes. He says that everything Trick is telling right now is what Carmelo told him a year ago, which makes Trick a hypocrite. As he says that he has dropped Oba Femi, unlike Trick, Oba Femi shows up. Oba Femi tells Je'Von to talk nonsense to his face, but Je'Von says he needed one more second to change history, and that he will whup Oba Femi again to become champion. Trick tells Je'Von to wait until next year, but Oba tells Trick to shut up. Oba calls Je'Von a little man with big dreams and admirations, and that he will not fulfill them at his expense. He says Je'Von lives in the now and that now belongs to him, then Trick tells Je'Von to excuse himself. Oba says if Trick spent less time talking, he would still be champion. General Manager Ava shows up and puts all three men in a Triple Threat Match for the NXT Championship at Stand & Deliver. Trick punches Je'Von, then he and Oba brawl. The lights go out, then Dark State (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James, Saquon Shuggars) show up and leap the barricade before attacking Je'Von and Oba. Trick gets in the ring, where he is surrounded by Dark State, and he is overpowered.

Backstage, Andre Chase finds out that he has suffered a cracked rib and that there is no timetable for his return. As Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors wheel him home, they run into Jordynne Grace and Jaida Parker's backstage brawl.

Backstage, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger are met by Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Frazer says that Hank and Tank have "lost it," and Axiom says he wishes they had a friendship like them. Hank and Tank leave, then Swipe Right (Brad Baylor and "The Smoke Show" Ricky Smokes) show up wanting a match with Frazer and Axiom. Frazer and Axiom give Swipe Right their match, then Roxanne Perez walks by on the way to the ring for the next match. Swipe Right notes Roxanne's talent and good looks.

Kelani Jordan beats Roxanne Perez to qualify for the NXT Women's North American Championship Ladder Match at Stand & Deliver.

Backstage, Stevie Turner apologize for Swipe Right's appearance. As Robert Stone talks about Stand & Deliver, General Manager Ava is focused more on Dark State (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James, Saquon Shuggars), and makes a six-man tag match at Stand & Deliver between Dark State and the team of Oba Femi, Trick Williams and Je'Von Evans for next week.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Ricky Saints, who says that he is worried more about the future than the past, and that he will be winning gold and tasting glory in record time while it took Shawn Spears a long time to even taste it.

Backstage, as Zaria asks Sol Ruca to be in her corner as she wins the Women's North American Championship, Kelani shows up and calls her shot. Zaria says it will not happen this time, and Sol Ruca says it will be one of them to do it, especially when she is in a qualifier match next week.

We see another X (formerly Twitter) video where Dark State (Dion Lennox, Osiris Griffin, Cutler James, Saquon Shuggars) proclaim that nobody will know when and who they will strike, and that next week, they will take all.

Ricky Saints beats Shawn Spears to win the NXT North American Championship! After the match, Saints is laid out from behind by "All Ego" Ethan Page to end the show.

Tony Schiavone interviews The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) in the ring. Billy Gunn says that he is pissed off at "Switchblade" Jay White, and while he can get past hitting him with a chair, he cannot get past invading his home. He also says he has sold out Madison Square Garden so many times he cannot remember, and reminds Jay White that he lost in their match and that he will lose next week when they square off on Dynamite. Max Caster says that while Billy Gunn is beating down Jay White, they will stay in the back, and that The Gunns will too if they have faith in Jay White, as there is no way Jay White can beat Billy Gunn in a fight. Anthony Bowens says he was proven right when he said that Jay White was a coward and that Jay White and The Gunns ran when Billy Gunn confronted them in his home, and next week, Bullet Club Gold's ("Switchblade" Jay White, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) demise begins.

As CM Punk leaves, Starks says his bag isn't the same as CM Punk's, and Punk comes back and and asks Starks if he wants a shot at what is in the bag or if he just does not want him to have it before calling himself "the real world's champion."
