Collision Course - Collision recap for October 7, 2023

We hear from "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson, Kyle Fletcher, Big Bill and "Absolute" Ricky Starks, Eddie Kingston, and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) before tonight's show.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks and Big Bill decimate a banged-up FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) to become the AEW World Tag Team Champions!

"The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson beats Kyle Fletcher after countering a Dragon Sleeper into a modified jackknife pin. After the match, Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) attack Danielson, then Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta make the save for Danielson.

Backstage, Tony Schiavone interviews Big Bill and "Absolute" Ricky Starks. Big Bill says they went out there with the best tag team in the world and whipped their asses, and says that week after week, they have walked, talked and acted like stars and that it is time that the tag team division was represented by stars. Starks says FTR do not get a rematch, and as far as he and Bill go, they are the ones that everyone wants to gun after and the real faces of Collision, and that everyone will be talking about them with respect as they are the new top dogs around here.

Bullet Club Gold ("Rock Hard" Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) bet Angelico, Metalik and Gravity in a trios match. After the match, "Switchblade" Jay White says that AEW needs a truly elite champion and that MJF is not it, then says that he is here with the AEW World Championship is either at home nursing his wounds or at Adam Cole's home nursing his wounds for him. Jay White says he expected MJF to care about the title and try to get it back as it means so much for him, then says that if "Hangman" Adam Page wants to challenge him on Tuesday, it will be a non-title match where Adam Page will lose to him for a fourth time. He then tells MJF to relax, as he is taking it from here with the AEW World Championship.

We hear from Nick Wayne, who says he has known Darby Allin like a brother and that Darby suddenly took off and left. He then says that he always felt like he was in Darby's shadow, just like how Adam Copeland was in Christian Cage's shadow. He says that in all that time gone, he knew how to get back at Darby for all the lost time, and that was by joining his biggest enemy. He says that under Christian's learning tree, Christian was the father figure that he always wanted, and since Darby was not always there for him, he does not need to be there for Darby.

Before the next match, Jacked Jameson and The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) are ready for The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn), then calls The Acclaimed out so they can "flex, fight and eat that ass."

The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) retain the AEW World Trios Championships against The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) and Jacked Jameson.

We see a video package chronicling the feud between Keith Lee and Shane Taylor in Ring of Honor.

"Timeless" Toni Storm beats Kiera Hogan after biting Kiera in the rear end before eventually hitting Storm Zero.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Ruby Soho. Ruby says that if Hikaru Shida did not knock out the referee, she would be challenging Saraya for the AEW Women's World Championship. As she says that she will be in Saraya's corner at Title Tuesday, she finds out from Renee that she has been banned from ringside for the match. Ruby keeps her cool before stating that Saraya does not need her, for there is a reason she is the AEW Women's World Champion, as she is the most dominant force in the industry and will stay that way after she beats Hikaru Shida.

Eddie Kingston retains the Ring of Honor World Championship against Komander.

Adam Copeland heads to the ring. After stating that he is forever indebted to Jim Ross for helping him pay for college when he signed his first WWE contract, he addresses what happened last week between himself and Christian Cage. Copeland says he came to AEW to team with Christian Cage, then mentioned his forced retirement and comeback before mentioning that Christian was also forced to retire for seven years. Adam Copeland admits that Christian Cage has become colder and a bit of a dick despite being friends with him for more than 40 years, then says he should have known he was in his "Bond villain phase" and has the turtleneck sweaters and a big, heavy Luchasaurus, which makes Nick Wayne "his hairless Persian cat that he pets on his lap." This leads to a "Persian cat" chant that Copeland approves of before Copeland states that he wants some answers as to what is going on, and Copeland asks Christian Cage to head to the ring and tell him what is going on. Christian Cage appears on the video screen and states that as the TNT Champion, he comes and goes as he pleases, and that if Copeland wants answers, he will get them this Tuesday on Dynamite. He states that he will be there before asking Copeland if he is going to make it there, then Luchasaurus and Nick Wayne surround the ring. Copeland fends them off and has Nick Wayne in the corne where he wants him for the Spear, but he istopped by Luchasaurus, who proceeds to choke slam him before hitting him with the Extinction. Luchasaurus then pulls a few chairs out from underneath the ring for a Con-Chair-To, then Darby Allin's entrance theme hits. Darby appears from behind Luchasaurus and smashes him in the back with a chair, then focuses on Nick Wayne. Darby swings the chair at Luchasaurus as he tries to get back into the ring, and this leads to Nick Wayne hitting Darby with a monster drop kick. Luchasaurus removes the stabilizing brace from Darby's arm, and Luchasaurus holds Darby down so that Nick Wayne can hit the Con-Chair-To on Darby's injured shoulder.
