Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for October 5, 2023

In backstage footage from WrestleDream last Sunday, Eddie Kingston says he has left all in the ring against Shibata and that he has much love for the Japanese style of wrestling. He says he does not know what is next, but right now, he just wants to head to catering.

Athena retains the ROH World Women's Championship against "Legit" Leyla Hirsch. After the match, Athena attacks Leyla again, but after Billie Starks looks at her with a sad puppy face, Athena relents and spares Leyla. Afterwards, Maria Kanellis-Bennett shows up on the stage and tells Leyla she was not ready.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Rocky "Azucar" Romero and "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels. Romero says he has nothing but the utmost respect for him and that his match against him in the Super 8 Tournament many years ago got him a shot to enter Ring of Honor and become a three-time tag team champion there. Daniels lists Romero's accomplishments and considers Romero one of the best in the world, but if he were to beat him tonight, it would put him back on the championship track. After Daniels says "May the best man win," Rocky says he will "bring the azucar," but Daniels says he knows a little thing about spice (in a reference to Curry Man).

"The Technical Beast" Josh Woods beats Tyler Payne.

Rocky "Azucar" Romero beats "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Dalton Castle, who says that his heart has been racing and that he has had no time for himself to even put together an outfit. He says that he has to give the people what he wants, as the show gets better when he is around.

Scorpio Sky beats Fred Rosser.

Willow Nightingale, Skye Blue and Kiera Hogan beat Lady Frost and The Renegades (Charlette and Robyn Renegade) in a six-woman tag match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News And Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) and Trish Adora. Dean says they are feeling good despite things not going their way recently, but they will handle that and get back to their winning ways. Bravo says that TMDK ("Hysterical" Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls) may be known for winning wars around the world, but so are they, and Trish Adora will also handle business against Billie Starkz.

"All Ego" Ethan Page beats Invictus Khash.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "Smart" Mark Sterling and "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese. Sterling says he has been doing his research and that Seattle is on top of the obesity rate in America because of carbohydrates. Nese says "carbs are the enemy," and Sterling says they will wage war on bread and anyone who likes it.

TMDK ("Hysterical" Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls) beat The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News And Tattoos" Carlie Bravo).

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "All Ego" Ethan Page. Ethan says he hopes everyone is watching him, including Eddie Kingston, as he is paying close attention to everyone who steps foot in ROH. He says he has wanted competition and ROH has delivered and he wants more, then says he is switching it up every single week and that his confidence is increasing and his ego is refilling itself. He says he is ready for Eddie Kingston as well as anyone else in ROH as he goes for his fifth win in a row.

Before the next match, "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese talks about how he was wiping the floor with "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson the last time he was in Seattle, Washington before stating that he is here to stop everyone from being "fat, disgusting, out-of-shape, pathetic losers." He says that the fans need to lay off the carbs, and uses the bread in "Smart" Mark Sterling's hands as an example as he states that the bread is why everyone is fat while he looks like a million bucks, leading to a "bread" chant. Satoshi Kojima shows up before Nese can even get started with the group exercises, and Nese wants to know what Kojima's problem is. Kojima says "I love bread," and Nese says that everyone can tell that he loves bread, then says he is in a good mood and that he will give him a gift from America before stomping on the bread.

Satoshi Kojima beats "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese and celebrates with the bread before shoving some in Nese's mouth.

Backstage, Athena has another "Minion Training session" with Billie Starkz and Lexy Nair. Athena talks about how she created the Minion Training sessions for "minion empowerment," and Athena and Lexy both agree that "Billie still sucks." As punishment, Billie has to knock on Tony Khan's door and pretend to be Willow Nightingale while saying she is a big loser.

Billie Starkz beats Trish Adora by submission.

Darius Martin beats Lee Johnson.

Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor and Lee Moriarty) beat the team of Cole Karter and Griff Garrison, The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry) and The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) in a Four Corners Survival Tag Team Match.

Komander, Gravity and Metalik beat Gringo Loco, Angelico and Serpentico in a six-man tag team match.

Here is the recap for tonight's show!
