Homecoming - Dynamite recap for January 10, 2024

"Hangman" Adam Page beats Claudio Castagnoli with two Buckshot Lariats.

We look back on the AEW career of the late Brodie Lee, which took place in Daily's Place.

Orange Cassidy, Preston Vance, Adam Copeland and Dustin Rhodes beat Lance Archer and The Mogul Embassy ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) in an eight-man tag match.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Switchblade" Jay White and The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn). As Jay White says that he and The Gunns can hold their own against Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Roderick Strong, Wardlow), The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) show up, and Bowens proposes an alliance, as does Max Caster.

Samoa Joe heads to the ring. Joe says that tonight, changes will be made to the champion challenging protocol. He says that everyone in the locker room is a marked man and that a Devil who made a bad deal is looking for him. He says that challengers no longer have to whine about their misfortune or make "hoe ass comments" on social media, and all one has to do is make their case to the championship committee. If one is worthy, they will face him. Suddenly, Prince Nana shows up with The Mogul Embassy (Swerve Strickland, "The Machine" Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona). Swerve Strickland brags about taking "Hangman" Adam Page's shot, then tells Samoa Joe that it is just business and that he wants the AEW World Championship, and that he will take it. He then says that if Samoa Joe wants to make it personal afterwards, he would be more than happy to make it personal as well. Suddenly, "Hangman" Adam Page shows up. Page heads to the ring while looking dead at Swerve, then looks at Joe before stating that he had a good 2023, yet lost sight of the AEW World Championship. He says that in 2024, he will make the championship his. Prince Nana has to hold Swerve back, and The Mogul Embassy leaves before Adam Page tells Samoa Joe he will take the AEW World Championship from him. After Adam Page leaves, Hook shows up and has a staredown with Samoa Joe, making it clear that he wants the AEW World Championship and that he will face him in one week.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "Timeless" Toni Storm, Luther and Mariah May. Toni says she feels like the prettiest girl at the dance with everyone coming after he championship as she asks Luther to set up a meeting with "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo.

Sammy Guevara beats "Absolute" Ricky Starks after countering the Spear. After the match, both men shake hands, then Sammy Guevara is attacked from behind by Big Bill. Ricky Starks joins in, then Chris Jericho shows up and attacks both Big Bill and Starks with a baseball bat. Sammy and Jericho brawl with Big Bill and Starks both inside the ring and inside the crowd, and come out on top.

Thunder Rosa, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale and Anna Jay beat Julia Hart, Skye Blue and The Outcasts (Saraya and Ruby Soho) in an eight-woman tag match with a Queenslayer from Anna Jay to Skye Blue. Before the match, Kris Statlander exposes Stokely Hathaway in the front row.

We hear from Wheeler Yuta, who tells Eddie Kingston that he is nobody's "young boy bitch" and that he wants him and the Continental Crown Championship on Rampage.

Roderick Strong beats "The Boutny Hunter" Bryan Keith. After the match, Adam Cole says that The Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett, Wardlow) do not care about the fans or earning anything from them, then calls Roderick Strong "pound for pound the greatest wrestler alive today." After saying the International Championship has Roddy's name on it, he states that Matt Taven and Mike Bennett have never gotten the respect that they deserve despite being the best tag team in Ring of Honor history. Adam Cole then calls Wardlow one of the most dominant monsters in AEW history, and says that now that Wardlow is surrounded by people who finally respect him, it is only a matter of time before they win the AEW World Championship. He welcomes the fans to their new kingdom, then tells them to get comfortable, for they will be here for a very long time.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo. Deonna says that she has her sights set on the AEW Women's World Championship, and if Toni Storm wants to pretend she does not know she is, she can send her a screener while she debuts on Collision. Red Velvet shows up and challenges Deonna Purrazzo to a match on Collision.

Sting and Darby Allin beat The Don Callis Family ("The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs) in a tornado tag match after Sting puts Hobbs through a table with a Scorpion Deathdrop. After the match, Tony Schiavone interviews Sting in the ring. When asked who the opponent for his final match will be, Sting is about to answer when The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) suddenly show up for the first time in weeks.
