Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for January 26, 2024

Latin Grammy-winning recording artist Eladio Carrion, best known for his song "RKO," heads to the ring. As he says that tonight will be an amazing night, he then introduces Randy Orton to the ring. Orton says The Bloodline has had "a hell of a run" for the last year, especially since Roman Reigns has been world champion for over 1300 days. He calls his unfathomable, and says nobody can stop The Bloodline except for maybe him. He then says that after the smoke clears tomorrow night, the only number that will matter is 15, for when he beats Roman Reigns, he will be a 15-time world champion. Suddenly, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles shows up and asks Orton if he is aware there are other people in his masks and asks him if he just looked past him. He says he wanted a match with Solo Sikoa to take his head off, but that match went to LA Knight instead of him. He says that as long as he has been in the WWE, Orton should know better, and after Orton RKO'd him last him, he has a receipt coming, and he will step over him, Roman and LA Knight. LA Knight shows up about as soon as AJ Styles is about to utter him name, and says all Styles has done since he has returned is cried, whined and complained. He also says Paul Heyman lobbied as hard as he could to put him in a match tonight because he sees him as a threat. LA Knight says he will hit Solo Sikoa so hard he will do his father's dance moves, then he will step over Orton, Styles and even Roman to become world champion. As LA Knight leaves, AJ Styles lays Randy Orton out.

Santos Escobar beats Carlito. During the match, Humberto gets on the apron so that Angel can get physically involved, and as Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro brawl with Humberto and Angel, Zelina Vega is attacked from behind by Elektra Lopez. This allows Escobar to win with a schoolkid pin.

Backstage, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles is met by Jimmy Uso. He asks Styles to help The Bloodline take out LA Knight so that Saturday night is easier for them. When The O.C. (Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, "Michin" Mia Yim) show up wanting to know what this was about, Styles says "Don't worry about it."

Backstage, General Manager Nick Aldis congratulates NXT General Manager Ava on earning her new position when Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) show up to draw their Royal Rumble numbers. Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Humberto, Angel, Elektra Lopez) shows up, and Santos Escobar draws his number.

We see a video package where Bayley talks about how she will win the Royal Rumble and how The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) will become women's tag team champions.

Backstage, R-Truth draws his Royal Rumble number and does not like what he sees. He then asks if he has to quarantine before he calls General Manager Nick Aldis "Adam Pearce" and compliments him on his hair.

The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) beat Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to become the WWE Women's Tag Team Champions!

Backstage, Paul Heyman speaks with Solo Sikoa on the meaning of "fix," and asks Solo to fix the problem without being merciful. Solo says "Okay." Jimmy Uso is scared by the smirk Solo gives, but Heyman says what was really scary was when Roman Reigns became the Tribal Chief when he saw the opportunity and seized it, and that there is something for Jimmy Uso to seize. He tells Jimmy Uso to enter the Royal Rumble, win the match and challenge and beat Seth "Freakin'" Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship and bring the title back to The Bloodline (Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa).

Backstage, Bianca Belair and Bayley get their Royal Rumble numbers.

Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) head to the ring. Lashley warns The Final Testament (Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Akam, Rezar, Paul Ellering) that they are going to bring the fight before ultimately calling them out. The Final Testament soon make their way to the ring. Scarlett is the only one to enter the ring, which does not impress Lashley, and Montez Ford chalks it up to them being scared, which Lashley and The Street Profits could never be. Paul Ellering says there is no fear in Karrion Kross, and Kross says he sees nothing but frustration and desperation, as Lashley feels like he is not in control when he truly is not. He tells Lashley that he is not getting his fight tonight. Lashley calls Kross a liar for saying they are not fighting tonight, but as he and The Street Profits charge towards The Final Testament, Scarlett blinds Lashley, and The Final Testament overpower all three of them.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso draws his Royal Rumble number, and is disappointed.

We see footage of a near-brawl between Kevin Owens and Logan Paul at the WWE Performance Center.

Austin Theory beats Carmelo Hayes after countering a roll-up with one of his own and grabbing the tights. After the match, Grayson Waller and Austin Theory gang up on Carmelo Hayes, then Trick Williams runs in to the ring and fights both men to save Carmelo.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Eladio Carrion, who says that tonight was an amazing experience for him. He predicts that Randy Orton will win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship when The Bloodline (Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso, Solo Sikoa) shows up. Heyman has to call Solo off as The Bloodline heads to the ring.

LA Knight vs. Solo Sikoa ends with "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles hitting Knight with a Phenomenal Forearm from the barricade. After the match, Jimmy Uso grabs a chair, and when he has a stand-off with Styles, Jimmy puts the chair down and tells him to do what he has to do. Solo warns Styles to take care of Knight before he takes care of him, and Styles hits Solo and Jimmy with the chair. Randy Orton then shows up and uppercuts Styles before hitting Jimmy Uso with a powerslam. Solo drags Orton out of the ring, but Orton slams Solo on the announce table. Orton then grabs Jimmy Uso before he can get out of the ring and hits him with the draping DDT, then ducks the Phenomenal Forearm and does the same to AJ Styles. Orton then hits Styles with an RKO to end the show.

This week on The SmackDown LowDown: Damage CTRL (Bayley, Iyo Sky, Dakota Kai, Asuka, Kairi Sane)! Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Humberto, Angel, Elektra Lopez)! LA Knight!
