Backstage, Ton Hannifan interviews Moose and Alex Shelley before their match at Hard To Kill. Shelley says he feels confident walking into his championship match, and Moose says he is coming in as himself and leaving as TNA World Champion. From here, Hannifan takes questions from the wrestling media. Shelley says that TNA World Championship does not put any pressure on him to perform, as he has felt pressure the whole time against past opponents and that Hard to Kill will be no different. Moose says that all he has to do to beat Shelley is show up and show him what he is capable of. Moose says he has been with the company for seven years, and that there have been major changes for the better in that time. He says that Alex Shelley may have led the company into the new TNA era, but he will take the keys from him. Shelley says that he was one of the people to start the company while Moose was not, and that TNA needs him to carry it forward. He says he should have been at the top of the mountain a long time ago, but he is there now and he cannot lose at Hard to Kill. Shelley says that Hard to Kill is a new chapter in TNA and a chance to declare dominance, and that he has to prove he is the wrestling god and that he plans to take the championship around the world like he did last year. Moose says that despite not liking a lot of people in TNA, he has to give credit where credit is due and his confidence is through the roof, and he feels sorry for Shelley. Moose also says that he brought back the TNA World Heavyweight Championship because the company needed someone to step up when they had no champion, then says he will take the keys from Shelley and lead the company to the future. This leads to a staredown between Moose and Shelley. Moose says that he wants the keys to the company, but Shelley calls the world title the keys to his kingdom while he states he is the reason why TNA is back.
