Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for August 12, 2026

Will Ospreay heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Ospreay talks about his debut in Arena Mexico from last year when his grandfather passed away and how he will leave every single bit of himself in the ring for the fans, then says he is here to set an example. He mentions Kenny Omega not being in the building in Mexico and watching at home, and tells him that he will pull the trigger before stating that Omega is backstage and calling Omega out. Don Callis shows up instead. Callis talks about he turned Omega into the AEW World Champion and had a reign unmatched in AEW history until Omega decided he could do it without him. He talks about how he betrayed Omega and did more to him than diverticulitis ever could and how he brought Ospreay to AEW to face Omega before stating that Ospreay owes everything to him. Callis tells Ospreay that the road to All In will not be paved with gold, but with his own blood. Rocky "Azucar" Romero, Trent Beretta, Jake Doyle and Mark Davis flood out from the crowd into the ring and gang up on Ospreay. All of a sudden, Kenny Omega shows up with a pipe and overpowers the foursome before rearing back with the pipe at Ospreay and stopping short of striking. Omega says he felt that, and says that he has a way with words when he talks from the heart. He says he feels everything Ospreay says, but Ospreay wears his heart on his sleeve. Omega tells Ospreay that he warned him about Don Callis, Jon Moxley and MJF, and that this has made him a fool and will cause him to lose everything. Omega says that this is not the man he wants to fight at Wembley Stadium, then helps him up and tells him that he cannot help him like this again, as from here on out, it is just the two of them. Ospreay says he appreciates the help, but he did not ask for it, and he will not need it. He thanks Omega and leaves.

MJF beats "The Prodigy" Nick Wayne and "Speedball" Mike Bailey to enter the #2 spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In by submission after tossing Speedball out of the ring following an Ultima Weapon to Nick Wayne and making Nick Wayne submit to Salt of the Earth. After the match, MJF says he told everyone what was going to happen and that "the champ always wins." He says he has never lost a day in his life, which is why he is walking into Wembley Stadium and leaving with the Casino Gauntlet Contract. When MJF says there is nothing anybody can do to stop him, Andrade el Idolo's theme hits, then MJF laughs, proving it was part of a joke. MJF says Andrade is not showing up because he beat him up last week. MJF also says that Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay are afraid of him, and that sooner or later, they will learn the hard way that he is "The One True Champion."

We see The Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) at The Brawling Birds' (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) bar. They belittle The Brawling Birds and states that they have never beaten The Divine Dominion, and that they have a taste of the hell that awaits them, and that The Brawling Birds' greatest moment will be their greatest massacre. The Divine Dominion then raise a toast to The Brawling Birds before dropping it to the floor and stating they had a good run.

Jay White says the stars aligned perfectly for him at Forbidden Door, then says The Dogs (Clark Connors and David Finlay) and The Death Riders' (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Daniel Garcia, "The Problem" Marina Shafir) days are numbered after getting the best of them. He says he and David Finlay go one-on-one more time, then hopes that Jon Moxley makes it through tonight so he can beat him to become Continental Champion.

"Switchblade" Jay White beats David Finlay to advance in the Continental Challenge Cup despite taking a hard landing on his neck from a German suplex.

Tony Schiavone introduces "Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido (Brody King and Bandido) to the ring. After Brodido celebrate being champions again, Hangman asks for permission to speak Spanish before Prince Nana and Swerve Strickland suddenly show up. Prince Nana tells Tony Schiavone his breath stinks before telling him to get out of the ring, then declares that he and Swerve will be asking the questions going forward. Swerve thinks Hangman and Brodido have become friends through "trauma bonding" after having beef with all of them, mentioning his history with them all before asking Hangman what his legacy will be now. Hangman says he has been watching Swerve for the past year and states that Swerve should not be one to talk about results after his heinous actions this year that he has nothing to show for. Suddenly, The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) and The Lethal Twist (Jay Lethal, "Vanilla Baby" Blake Christian, "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson) show up, and Ricochet says they are on trios business while questioning why Prince Nana and Swerve are in the ring in the first place, given his history with Swerve. He also says that Brodido and Hangman stole the Trios titles from them, as Toa Liona's shoulders were not on the mat, and that the titles should still be theirs. Ricochet then demands that The Demand get a championship rematch. He then tells Swerve to get out of the ring as he has nine guys out here who all hate him and even more people who hate him in the back, and as Swerve leaves, he says that Brody King does all the barking while Ricochet is the bitch. Hangman says Swerve has a point, and dares The Demand to get in the ring and take the Trios titles back. Ricochet teases doing that at first, but says that The Demand and The Lethal Twist will do it on their time.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Renee Paquette interviews Willow Nightingale. All of a sudden, Willow is attacked from out of nowhere with the Women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament championship by Mercedes Moné.

Claudio says the Continental Challenge Cup is unpredictable and that whoever he faces, he will beat them, as The Death Riders are competing against themselves. Moxley says a number of crazy things can happen in the tournament, especially when he and "Jungle" Jack Perry roll the dice in Las Vegas tonight. He wants to know if Perry is ready like he is, and says that fortune shows a habit of doing just as she pleases.

Kris Statlander beats Viva Van. After the match, Mick Foley interviews Statlander, and we find out that Noelle Foley is in the front row. Statlander learns she will be in a four-way match for the TBS Championship next week against Maya World, Hikaru Shida and Persephone. Statlander says she feels great and ready to fight, and proud that Maya World is TBS Champion. As for Persephone and Shida, she will make them bend over backwards and shove their heads up their asses for everything they have done to her. Statlander says she was made for the TBS Champonship and has even fought wars for it, then Persephone shows up for the next match along with Shida. Before they can attack Statlander, Thunder Rosa shows up, as does Maya World. Statlander and Mick Foley head to the back as Shida and Persephone are on the outside.

Thunder Rosa and Maya World beat Persephone and Hikaru Shida after Shida inadvertently hits Persephone with a jumping knee after Maya World dodges. After the match, Kris Statlander celebrates with Maya World and Thunder Rosa.

We hear from Darby Allin, who has no regrets about his World Championship run. He says that Kevin Knight is burning the candle at both ends like he did as World Champion, but he did not win the right way. Darby then says he is willing to go far at Wembley Stadium, and that there is no amount of training to ready Knight for their match. He says that if Knight can beat him, then maybe he will live up to the potential that he saw in him all those years ago.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Don Callis and "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher. After stating that "Speedball" Mike Bailey brought out the best in him, he is still champion, and he hopes to defend the title a fourth time in a fourth country before All In. Don Callis says that there is a former champion who has yet to get a rematch. Fletcher finds out that at All In, he will defend against "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada as well as another former International Champion in a three-way match. Fletcher is livid, but Okada says the title will stay in the family. Fletcher angrily leaves.

Jon Moxley beats "Jungle" Jack Perry by submission with a sleeper hold in a first-time-ever match to advance in the AEW Continental Challenge Cup.

"Switchblade" Jay White beats Shane Taylor after "Rock Hard" Juice Robinson takes out "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty at the ring apron. After the match, Jay White says he has known Shane Taylor and admits he hits harder than he does, then addresses "Hangman" Adam Page, saying that Hangman also hits hard, which is why he gets under Hangman's skin so easily. He says that despite the year he has had, Hangman is still hellbent on coming after him, as despite how good Hangman is supposed to be, he has always been ahead of him. He says that his 5-0 record means Hangman does not have a leg to stand on, and he hopes that Hangman is rehabbing his knee and planning to hang him over the top rope with a leather belt until someone stops him before telling Hangman he had better not miss, as one mistake will cost him so much. Jay White then gives Hangman one more chance at redemption, and challenges him to a match at Full Gear.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Kyle Fletcher, who now sports a fully shaven head. Fletcher says he did not come here to talk about his hair as he is here on family business to keep an eye on Ricochet, then says that if Will Ospreay shows up on Dynamite, it will be the last time he will be seen for a long time. He then says that if Ospreay does not show up, it will only prove that he is a selfish coward who is scared of "The Proto-Star." He then wants to face an up-and-comer on next week's show so he can prove that he is the now, not the future.

Penelope Ford beats Robyn Renegade by submission with the Muta Lock. After the match, Jamie Hayter appears on the video screen and challenges Penelope to a match at the November 6th Dynamite.

The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) beat MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden).

We see footage of Nigel McGuinness interviewing Wheeler Yuta. Yuta says that The Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Marina Shafir) put an end to "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson's career before McGuinness could, and that they gave Danielson "a warrior's death" because he does not have the stomach for professional wrestling, and states that "The American Dragon" that McGuinness knew was long dead by the time he got into the ring at WrestleDream, and that they had to get him out of the way for the greater good. Yuta says he does not enjoy what he is doing, but The Blackpool Combat Club say they do what they do because they have to.

He then says the word of the day is "honor," which he says The Learning Tree has none of. As for Orange Cassidy, he has never seen him more angrier than on Dynamite, and while has been keeping his eye on Undisputed Kingdom (Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett), he is looking to the present and he is good with The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, O'Reilly, Orange, Rocky "Azucar" Romero, Ishii).

FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) beat La Faccion Ingobernables (Rush and Dralistico). After the match, The Beast Mortos attacks FTR from behind, and Rush and Dralistico join in. She hopes to regain all the momentum that she had before the injury and become a champion in Ring of Honor.

Before the next match, Brandon Cutler shows up and mocks Rocky "Azucar" Romero, then says he learned lucha libre in southern California and that he can run rings around Romero in lucha libre. He then says that Romero cannot do anything to him until he shakes his hand. Romero shakes his hand, then gets the advantage over him.

Rocky "Azucar" Romero (accompanied by Stockton Kings mascot Dunkson) beats Brandon Cutler.

Lee Johnson and EJ Nduka beat Bret Hankins and Jiah Jewell.

We look back on Mercedes Martinez vs. Athena for the ROH Women's World Championship from Final Battle 2022.

Billie Starkz is in the ring, where she welcomes Athena for her celebration of being the longest-reigning champion in all of Ring of Honor history. Athena arrives with Lexy Nair on a chain, and she is taken aback by the streamers and confetti by the MIT Dance Team, who soon dance for a few seconds before Lexy Nair cuts the music, with Athena unimpressed. (Three of the members are Olumide, Alpha Zo and Chris Nasty, who competed on the most recent AEW Collision.) Athena says she asked for Ja Rule, then tells the minions to get out of the ring, which they do with great urgency. Athena says this was supposed to be her day and her moment of celebration, then says her parents were supposed to be here until her mother put getting major surgery over celebrating the only success that she has had in life before calling her mother "selfish." She also wants to know where the women's division is after she "lifted every single one of those hussies out of mediocrity," and while they are "mediocre" and "still suck," she did the best with what she had and she cannot do the Lord's work. Athena says that without her, there would be no ROH, let alone no women's division, and says that day in and day out, she has never been content and has wanted more, and that she has come here and busted her ass and done her job busting "hussies'" heads. She says she is the best in the world and the greatest of all time, but some people want to call her overrated, but Athena prefers the term "underappreciated." She says she deserves more than this, as she has not been pinned or submitted in almost two years, and asks where her flowers, recognition, tribute and appreciation are at. She then says the fans suck and does not know why she is in "this podunk town," then says the party sucks and blames it all on Billie. She says that Billie is jealous of everything that she has done in her career, and that Billie wishes she was her due to how she looks at her, because Billie could not even do a tenth of what she has done in the past year. As she says this last part, she jabs her finger into Billie's chest, and Billie snatches the microphone from Athena's hand before telling Athena she is done. She shoves Athena, then leaves. Lexy says this is still a good celebration and does not know what has gotten into Billie, then shows Athena the original ROH Women's World Championship, now with a picture of Athena in the center plate that also spins much like a John Cena spinner belt, which Athena loves. Athena hugs Lexy, then Abadon's music hits. Lexy hides under the ring, but Abadon does not show up and Athena thinks this is all a joke. When she pulls Lexy out from underneath the ring, Abadon is on the other end of the chain instead, and they beat Athena up before hitting her with Black Dahlia. Abadon then notices the celebration cake, unhooks themselves from Athena and throws the cake in Athena's face.

In backstage footage from this week's Dynamite, Mark Briscoe is in pain, and cannot speak before turning away from the camera.

"The Machine" Brian Cage retains the ROH World Television Championship against Komander.

Here is the recap for tonight's show!

In footage from earlier today, Jim Ross is seen interviewing Swerve Strickland in a sit-down interview. Swerve says that the path to the World Championship means the world to him and has changed him as an individual. He says that if you aren't allowed in when you knock on the door long enough, you must make noise. As for Bryan Danielson, it is all about his legacy for him, and that he needs something to wake up in the morning for and to fight for. Swerve says he is in the driver's seat now and that he controls the narrative, and that this not only worries Danielson, but everyone else. He also says he does not care much about Danielson. He says that people love to brag about the pain they can induce, then asks what happens when nothing works because their body cannot work. Swerve then says he will beat Danielson at All In, as his legacy belongs to him now.

Orange Cassidy's tag team partners for the next match are revealed to be FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler), who show up with sunglasses and denim jackets (with Harwood wearing Bret Hart-style shades).

After the match, Kamille throws both of her opponents out of the ring, then Mercedes Moné says Dr. Britt Baker is suspended and that they will not have to deal with her until All In. Mercedes reiterates that Britt is not here, then says Britt may be the first, but not the best, and that she herself is the best in AEW. All of a sudden, Tony Schiavone interrupts and tells Mercedes that Britt Baker's suspension has been lifted and overruled by Tony Khan as per Interim EVP Christopher Daniels.
