Collision Course - Collision recap for May 22, 2025

Adam Cole guests on commentary for tonight's show.

Tony Schiavone brings out FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway, followed by Daniel Garcia, "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard and Nigel McGuinness, to start tonight's show for a contract signing. Cash Wheeler gives Daniel Garcia one last chance to reconsider as FTR sees him as a son, but says that Garcia is willing to throw everything away for "a bunch of nobodies." He then tells Nigel McGuinness that it will pay for him to shut up and listen rather than be paid to talk like he usually does, and tells him that there will be no commentary table to hide behind or a magic trick to save him as he is a shell of a former man against the greatest tag team in the world. FTR and Stokely sign the contract, then Daniel Garcia says that he has and still does care about FTR, but he has to see FTR for what they are now: two selfish, narcissistic sociopaths. He says that FTR turned his back on him as well as anybody that has ever cared about them, and now that they have crossed too many lines, he is standing up for himself and others who has had enough of them. He admits that FTR is greatest tag team that wrestling has ever seen, but this Sunday will be a fight, not a wrestling match, and he is going to fight. He says that Nigel may have a little bit of doubt, but he sees that look in his eyes and knows that he still has it. Garcia says that if he does not get the Nigel that he sees, then he should not sign the contract. Nigel says it will remain to be seen if he still has, but before he signs, he wants FTR's word that they will not touch, talk to or even look at him or Schiavone ever again or else it will be "Top Guys out for good." Dax takes the microphone and says this is not 2025, not 2009, and that Nigel has a family to think about and that the wrestling business has beaten him up over the years, and if Nigel wants FTR to finish the job, then he can sign the contract knowing that it will be his blood on his own hands and that FTR will hold no responsibilty for whatever happens; otherwise, he can leave the ring and head back to the commentary table where he belongs before touching him. Nigel warns Dax not to touch him, but Dax says this is just business and that they will be businessmen on Sunday before putting his hand on him again. Nigel attacks Dax, starting a brawl, and it ends with Menard keeping Stokely away as security has to break up two submission holds from Garcia and Nigel. Nigel says that if FTR wants to look into his eyes, then he will look into their souls, and signs the contract before stating that this ends on Sunday.

We hear from "Timeless" Toni Storm, who says that some women have died young only to be buried much later, yet Mina Shirakawa has made her feel very much alive. She has admired, appreciated and envied Mina, but now she is here to stay. She always had a premonition that their journey would end in tragedy, and that there is no one more talented than Mina to take her title. She wants Mina to bring her best, and years from know, she will say that they lived.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

The Don Callis Family ("The Alpha" Konosuke Takeshita, Trent Beretta, Rocky "Azucar" Romero) beat The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and Bandido after Takeshita puts a stop to Total Recall and Lance Archer takes out Bandido on the outside.

We hear from Gabe Kidd, who says that he has joined with Jon Moxley and The Young Bucks (Nicholas and Matthew Jackson) because they want to eat AEW from the inside. Moxley says they will paint a picture of the spirit of professional wrestling in blood.

Paragon (Kyle O'Reilly and Roderick Strong) beat Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake).

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats AR Fox.

Fans predict who will win between "Hangman" Adam Page and Will Ospreay in the finals of the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.

Mistico, Mascara Dorada and Templario beat Los Despredadores (Volador Jr., Magnus and Rugido) in a CMLL Trios Match.

We see a video package for Anna Jay and Harley Cameron vs. Megan Bayne and Penelope Ford at Double or Nothing.

Backstage, we hear from Kris Statlander, who apologizes to Willow Nightingale and says that while she has made mistakes, she is still a dangerous woman. She warns Willow to watch who she pushes, as they might just push back.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey and Komander beat La Faccion Ingobernable (Rush and Dralistico). After the match, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada shows up. Speedball bows towards Okada in a sign of respect only to get flipped off, and Speedball beats him up and raises up the Continental Championship to end the show.

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for October 31, 2024

We hear from The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch). Dutch says promises are like glass until they shatter, and that they have so many scars from trying to get through in ROH without getting cut. Vincent says the one scar that means the most to them is the ROH World Tag Team Championships, as they should have had them a long time ago. He sees a man enjoying the rest of the career in "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes while Sammy Guevara is a man with a family who is just getting started and is also a bit selfish, even as he sees Dustin as family. Vincent says he can see the snakes trying to hide in the grass and that Dustin is holding a venomous snake by his side. After Vincent asks what happens when a venomous snake bites, Dutch says that they become World Tag Team Champions.

JD Drake and Beef beat Preston Vance and "Pretty" Peter Avalon.

Johnny TV beats Deonn Rusman.

We hear from MxM Collection (Mansoor and Mason Madden), who show off their new "Fall Collection" T-shirts on Shop AEW as only they can.

Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) beat CSJ and Dave Dutra.

We hear from "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. Guevara says that The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) are both right and wrong. He admits he has a family at home and that he is selfish when it comes to supporting his family, but Dustin is family to him and not the other way around. He says he had Dustin's back as of late and that he will have his back against The Righteous. Dustin says Guevara is nicer than he is, saying that The Righteous should keep others' families out of their mouths and stop calling themselves The Righteous when they are not morally right, and says that a bad snake gets its head chopped off. He says that if The RIghteous want a shot at the tag titles, they have it, and warns The Righteous that they will watch their match tonight, as they are snakes and they are playing mind games that he can see right through.

Reyna Isis beats Lady Frost.

Matt Taven beats Aaron Solo by submission in a Pure Rules Match. After the match, "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty shows up on the stage, and Taven makes it clear he wants the Pure Championship.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews JD Drake and Beef. Beef says the chemistry is real because htey are family, but JD Drake has to get Beef to calm down and realize they are not family as they are only related by marriage. Beef says they are thinking about Anthony Henry - who is injured again - then JD Drake says that Beef is okay, even if he is a little rambunctious, and asks him to tone it down a little bit, but Beef continues to be as unpredictable and spontaneous as ever.

The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) beat Jay Marston and Solomon Tupu. After the match, The Righteous put the railroad stake between Tupu's feet so that Vincent can smask Tupu's ankle with a metal folding chair. "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara run to the ring and chase The Righteous away.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling says that The Premier Athletes have a brand-new "Athletes Rule!" shirt coming soon, then tries to get an "Athletes Rule" chant going only to be told they suck.

Backstage, we hear from "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and Sammy Guevara. Dustin calls out The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) for their actions earlier only for The Righteous to attack them from behind. Dustin gets on top of Guevara to stop The Righteous from injuring Guevara with a metal folding chair and a railroad spike, then Vincent tells Dustin that nobody can hurt The Righteous more than they have hurt themselves and that The Righteous. should be the ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) and Action Andretti beat Jah-C, Trip Jordy and Dante Leon.

We look back on Jay Lethal vs. Curry Man from This Means War from October 29, 2005.

Billie Starkz beats Blair Onyx.

Backstage, The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean, "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo, Trish Adora) are met by Shane Taylor Promotinos (Shane Taylor and "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty). Shane asks The Infantry when they are going to reach their potential, as battle lines have been drawn and there is strength in numbers. He says that if they are to go to war, he would need some good soldiers. The Infantry decide to join Shane Taylor Promotions.

The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) beat Spanish Announce Project (Angelico and Serpentico) after Trish Adora stands on the apron so that "Taiga Style" Lee Moriarty can hit Angelico in the back with the Pure Championship so that The Infantry can hit Boot Camp for the win.

Diamanté beats Aminah Belmont.

Backstage, Lexy Nair congratulates Billie Starkz, then asks her to concentrate on Athena's Ring of Horror match against Abadon. The Dark Order (Evil Uno, John Silver, Alex Reynolds) beat The Iron Savages (Boulder, Bronson, Jacked Jameson) in a six-man tag match.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling gets the name of the city he is in wrong before being told that he and The Premier Athletes (Ariya Daivari and Josh Woods) suck.

Komander beats Ariya Daivari despite constant interference by "Smart" Mark Sterling and Josh Woods, which is stopped by a dive over the top rope by Komander.

Backstage, we hear from "The Learning Tree" Chris Jericho, who wishes everyone a happy Halloween before talking about Athena's Ring of Horror Match against Abadon, complete with Halloween puns.

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for October 24, 2024

Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona) beat The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo).

Reyna Isis beats Viva Van.

We hear from "Legit" Leyla Hirsch, who says that she dislocated her shoulder at Death Before Dishonor and did not know if she would get back up, but she did, and she won the first ever women's deathmatch in ROH. She hopes to regain all the momentum that she had before the injury and become a champion in Ring of Honor.

Before the next match, Brandon Cutler shows up and mocks Rocky "Azucar" Romero, then says he learned lucha libre in southern California and that he can run rings around Romero in lucha libre. He then says that Romero cannot do anything to him until he shakes his hand. Romero shakes his hand, then gets the advantage over him.

Rocky "Azucar" Romero (accompanied by Stockton Kings mascot Dunkson) beats Brandon Cutler.

Lee Johnson and EJ Nduka beat Bret Hankins and Jiah Jewell.

We look back on Mercedes Martinez vs. Athena for the ROH Women's World Championship from Final Battle 2022.

Billie Starkz is in the ring, where she welcomes Athena for her celebration of being the longest-reigning champion in all of Ring of Honor history. Athena arrives with Lexy Nair on a chain, and she is taken aback by the streamers and confetti by the MIT Dance Team, who soon dance for a few seconds before Lexy Nair cuts the music, with Athena unimpressed. (Three of the members are Olumide, Alpha Zo and Chris Nasty, who competed on the most recent AEW Collision.) Athena says she asked for Ja Rule, then tells the minions to get out of the ring, which they do with great urgency. Athena says this was supposed to be her day and her moment of celebration, then says her parents were supposed to be here until her mother put getting major surgery over celebrating the only success that she has had in life before calling her mother "selfish." She also wants to know where the women's division is after she "lifted every single one of those hussies out of mediocrity," and while they are "mediocre" and "still suck," she did the best with what she had and she cannot do the Lord's work. Athena says that without her, there would be no ROH, let alone no women's division, and says that day in and day out, she has never been content and has wanted more, and that she has come here and busted her ass and done her job busting "hussies'" heads. She says she is the best in the world and the greatest of all time, but some people want to call her overrated, but Athena prefers the term "underappreciated." She says she deserves more than this, as she has not been pinned or submitted in almost two years, and asks where her flowers, recognition, tribute and appreciation are at. She then says the fans suck and does not know why she is in "this podunk town," then says the party sucks and blames it all on Billie. She says that Billie is jealous of everything that she has done in her career, and that Billie wishes she was her due to how she looks at her, because Billie could not even do a tenth of what she has done in the past year. As she says this last part, she jabs her finger into Billie's chest, and Billie snatches the microphone from Athena's hand before telling Athena she is done. She shoves Athena, then leaves. Lexy says this is still a good celebration and does not know what has gotten into Billie, then shows Athena the original ROH Women's World Championship, now with a picture of Athena in the center plate that also spins much like a John Cena spinner belt, which Athena loves. Athena hugs Lexy, then Abadon's music hits. Lexy hides under the ring, but Abadon does not show up and Athena thinks this is all a joke. When she pulls Lexy out from underneath the ring, Abadon is on the other end of the chain instead, and they beat Athena up before hitting her with Black Dahlia. Abadon then notices the celebration cake, unhooks themselves from Athena and throws the cake in Athena's face.

In backstage footage from this week's Dynamite, Mark Briscoe is in pain, and cannot speak before turning away from the camera.

"The Machine" Brian Cage retains the ROH World Television Championship against Komander.

Here is the recap for tonight's show!
