Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for April 3, 2026

Randy Orton heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Orton asks the fans what they want to talk about, much like "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes, then says that it is no secret that St. Louis, Missouri is his hometown and has been for years, and that the next time he is here, he will be world champion. Orton then says he is becoming world champion again for him and for his family, who he considers his real home, and that Cody Rhodes will be heading home from WrestleMania empty-handed. He says that Cody gave him his blessing and told him that he needed to be "The Viper" and be the best version of himself, then says that the voices are talking to Cody and that Stephanie McMahon was right when she said Cody cannot beat him. He says that Cody is not a killer that and that there is no putting back to bed what Cody has awoken. Suddenly, Cody Rhodes shows up and heads to the ring. Cody and Orton brawl, and Cody quickly gets the momentum. All of a sudden, Pat McAfee gets in the ring and kicks Cody in the groin, revealing himself to be the one that Orton talked to on the phone. Orton then grabs a chair and hits Cody with it, then McAfee makes fun of the local sports team as General Manager Nick Aldis shows up with officials and states that it is a tough night for St. Louis. McAfee says that a month ago, he was asked when he would return WWE, and he said that he thought the business passed him by and that it was "absolute shit." He says Orton called him and told him it went in a direction that some people did not like. He says that the older fans who put WWE on their back to take it where it is now feel forgotten about as Orton chokes Cody with the chair, and says he has to watch two 5'5" guys wrestle each other in 45-minute Iron Man Matches for ten weeks straight for no rhyme or reason while Randy Orton is around. He says that gorilla positions keeps circlejerking themselves, that tickets are WrestleMania are somehow still available, and SmackDown has a puppet for a champion after its worst-rated episode of the year while Orton is around, and tells Orton to kick Cody's ass. Orton attacks Cody as McAfee says he has been the one on the phone telling Orton to kill everything, as the business Cody is leading is terrible and that Orton is going to "save the fucking business." Randy places the Undisputed WWE Championship on Cody before whispering into Cody's ear and leaving with Pat McAfee. Officials check on Cody.

Backstage, Pat McAfee and Randy Orton celebrate what they have done to "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes on their way out of the building.

Rhea Ripley beats "Michin" Mia Yim by submission with the Prism Trap. Jade Cargill shows up shortly after the beginning of the match to watch from ringside. After the match, B-Fab attacks Rhea, and while Rhea takes her out, Michin attacks Rhea from behind as Rhea is focused on Cargill, which leads to a beatdown. As Cargill is about to hit Rhea Ripley with Jaded, Iyo Sky shows up and fends off Michin and B-Fab, and she and Rhea clean house.

Backstage, Matt Cardona is met by Aleister Black and Zelina Vega. Aleister says that Randy Orton went back to being himself and that the universe is right again, and Zelina says that Cardona cannot accept that. Cardona says he has talked to General Manager Nick Aldis, and that they can fight tonight. Aleister says that Cardona is a fan of making bad decisions before he leaves.

Backstage, Solo Sikoa talks with the MFT's (Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa, Talla Tonga, JC Mateo). He says that Uncle Howdy wants to challenge for the lantern, and wants to know who will take care of Uncle Howdy. Tama Tonga says that the lantern has been nothing but trouble for all of them, including Solo. Solo tells Tama to take care of Howdy, and while Tama obliges, he will do this alone. Solo says he is okay with this, then tells him not to mess this up.

Backstage, Rhea Ripley tells Iyo Sky that she owes her one before Cathy Kelley interviews her. Rhea says that Jade Cargill has proven that she cannot do this one on her own, and that she did not know she had a back-up plan. She says Cargill has followers while she has friends, and Iyo tells Rhea she will always have her back. Rhea says she will always have Iyo's back and that she will walk out of WrestleMania as champion.

Uncle Howdy beats Tama Tonga when Solo Sikoa shows up and almost hits Uncle Howdy with the lantern only to get caught by the referee. This leads to Solo arguing with Tama followed by Uncle Howdy hitting Tama Tonga for the win. After the match, Solo and Tama argue, and Tama takes the lantern, saying that Solo does not need this. He lets Howdy take the lantern and holds Solo back, telling Solo to let the lantern go.

Backstage, Kit Wilson and The Miz - the latter looking sweaty and having had a rough day - are worried about Danhausen's curse when they run into R-Truth, who is setting up a new clubhouse. Miz says R-Truth takes nothing seriously and challenges R-Truth to inspire someone, saying he has never earned anything in WWE. R-Truth takes this as a challenge for the WWE tag team championships and goes to talk to General Manager Nick Aldis.

We hear from Jacob Fatu, who says that is just him and Drew McIntyre one-on-one in an unsanctioned match at WrestleMania. He says his life has been one big rollercoaster, and one is forced into the gutter, one is forced to be part of the environmental and that it all comes down to survival. He says that every decision he made and every day he was locked up brought him to this moment, and in this match, there are no rules, no one to stop him, no one to break it up and no one to tell him what to do. Jacob says that at WrestleMania, McIntyre is in his world, and he will see if McIntyre can make it out.

Backstage, Sami Zayn meets with General Manager Nick Aldis. He finds out that he has pyro, then apologizes for last week. Aldis says it is not necessary, saying that Sami did what he had to, then tells him to go out to the ring and talk to the fans before Trick Williams' theme plays. Rapper Lil Yachty accompanies Trick to the ring, and Trick celebrates having his first WrestleMania match before stating that since the guests are rolling out, it was only right to bring out Lil Yachty. Lil Yachty says that WrestleMania is for legends in the making like Trick, and Trick mentions that the two of them have history before stating that he will do what it takes to win the United States title and that he will "take no lip from no Gingerbread Man." He then says to hit Sami Zayn's pyro, because Trick Williams runs SmackDown. Sami Zayn shows up and says Trick Williams is celebrating before he has won and that pageantry has never really been his thing. He says that he is focused on winning, then says that 50,000 signs will be pointed at the ring at WrestleMania and that all the presentation, pageantry and celebration will not save him from one of the best to ever do it in the ring. Sami tells Trick that he will "humble [his] ass" at WrestleMania, and Trick tells Lil Yachty that "Ginger Snap is pretty upset" and fails to realize that he only has the United States Championship and is going to WrestleMania because of him. Carmelo Hayes shows up and heads to the ring and says he cannot sit back and watch things go down like this, then mentions his history with Trick, saying that he will spin the block and give Trick his receipt. Carmelo says that the end of their match does not sit well with him and that he carried the United States Championship on his back only for Sami to win it in the fashion that he did, and that the fans want him, not Sami, at WrestleMania. Carmelo tells Sami to listen to the fans and give him his rematch. Sami agrees with Carmelo and that he deserves a rematch and does not want to take anything from him, and that while he is sorry that this happened at his expense, he will have to wait until after WrestleMania. Sami acknowledges that Trick Williams got involved in their match, and says the same thing happened to him regarding Cody Rhodes. He says this may have worked in his favor this time around, but he is not happy about it. Carmelo tells Sami to do the right thing. Sami tells Carmelo that he has his rematch tonight. If Carmelo wins, he gets Trick Williams; if he wins, he gets Trick, and this is the last he hears of this. Carmelo accepts and heads to the back. Trick laughs and thanks Sami for finally saving some time, and Sami clotheslines Trick out of the ring.

Backstage, Solo Sikoa confronts Tama Tonga for returning the lantern to Uncle Howdy. Tama says the lantern tore them apart and that it is time to get back to business and take all the titles. Solo agrees, then says that once they finish The Wyatt Sicks (Uncle Howdy, Erick Rowan, Joe Gacy, Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross), they will get back to business. Tama looks at the MFT's (Tonga Loa, Talla Tonga, JC Mateo) while Solo looks at Tama with a side eye.

Aleister Black beats Matt Cardona.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. Bayley says that losing last year's opportunity sucked, but she has made a career out of fighting with her back against the wall, and they will win the women's tag titles on Monday after Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss get a taste of what will happen at WrestleMania. Lyra Valkyria says that if Charlotte and Alexa had gone through what they did, they would not be a team. Lyra says this is more than about friendship or championship gold, but about making it iup to Bayley and making the last year worth it.

Backstage, R-Truth speaks with Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano. R-Truth admits that he thought Gargano was dead when he found him on the floor, but Gargano says that he is still alive and about to win the North American Championship before he and Candice leave. Damian Priest then shows up wanting to know why they are facing The Miz and Kit Wilson with their titles on the line, but R-Truth says that Asuka cursed them. Priest reminds him that he is really talking about Danhausen, but R-Truth insists that it is Asuka who did it and that it will not only be like taking candy from a baby, but that St. Louis, Missouri gets to see that it "It's 'Wepa' Time."

We hear from Drew McIntyre. He says that his family was about to see him walk out as Undisputed WWE Champion, but the title was stolen from him again, this time by Jacob Fatu. He says that Jacob has made excuses, justifications and lies as well as a criminal and a thief who has the potential to change but never will because he is a convict. He says Jacob's family made his life hell and that Jacob is the worst of all to the point that he cannot outrun his past. McIntyre says he will prove Jacob "guilty as charged" and show who Jacob really is.

It is announced that Nikki Bella has suffered an ankle injury last week and that she will hopefully get better by WrestleMania 42.

Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss beat Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. After the match, both teams are laid out by The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and Lash Legend).

Backstage, The Miz tells Kit Wilson that the curse is a myth, as they have a WWE Tag Team Championship match, and the universe corrects itself. Danhausen shows up with his jar of teeth, and offers to accompany them to the ring to show them how to be him. Kit Wilson calls Danhausen toxic, but Danhausen offers to undo the curse. The Miz tells Danhausen to stay away from the ring, then Danhausen disappears the moment Miz looks away.

Rapper Sexxy Red is seen in the crowd.

Damian Priest and R-Truth retain the WWE Tag Team Championships against Kit Wilson and The Miz. During the match, Danhausen shows up and tries to tag out The Miz, but both the referee and The Miz are having none of it. R-Truth tags in Danhausen, and The Miz tells Danhausen to get out. Danhausen tries to curse The Miz, but The Miz uses referee Dan Engler as a human shield and Engler gets cursed instead. The Miz is able to hit R-Truth with a Skull Crushing Finale soon after, but Engler's wrist suddenly hurts as he makes the three count. This allows Priest to tag in and hit South of Heaven on the Miz to retain, with referee Dan Engler making the count with his other hand. After the match, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes suddenly shows up, hits Kit Wilson with a Cross Rhodes, then addresses Pat McAfee. He says this is like The Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) talking about the third man, except it was Disco Inferno instead of Hulk Hogan. Rhodes says that McAfee will get his receipt and that he and everyone who represents him can kiss his ass, saying that firing him "went well the last time," then mentions everyone telling him he must go to a dark place and become a bad guy to beat Randy Orton. Cody admits he does not know if he can do it anymore, as he has two children and his dream job, and says that while he was wrestling current greats in WWE, they were also wrestling him. He says that he is finally hearing those voices in his head, then says that the fans do not want to hear what they have to say.

Trick Williams and rapper Lil Yachty show up to watch the next match from ringside.

Sami Zayn retains the WWE United States Championship against Carmelo Hayes after hitting Carmelo with the Helluva Kick when Carmelo tweaks the right knee when he misses Nothing But Net. After the match, Lil Yachty congratulates Sami Zayn before putting Trick Williams on a pedestal. Sami confronts Yachty for calling him "The Gingerbread Man," and Trick attacks Sami from behind with Yachty holding Sami down for the Trick Shot to the jaw.

After the match, Hendry goes after Kazarian and even goes through security to do so, and Elijah has to pull Hendry off of Kazarian.

Backstage, Joe Hendry finds out that his shoulder is injured, but he refuses to go to the hospital. He soon finds out that he does not have much of a choice.

Eddie Edwards is in the ring. He talks about how he came out last week (in a segment that is social media exclusive) and gave The System (Alisha Edwards, Moose, Brian Myers, JDC) an ultimatum: either be on board with his vision going forward or hand in their ring and be out of The System. The rest of The System comes out and heads to the ring, then says that he knows JDC is sick and tired of losing and wants to know if he is in or out of The System. JDC says he is in. Eddie then addresses Moose, saying he knows what greatness and wants to know if he wants to achieve it again, and asks if he is in or out. Before he can answer, Cody Deaner shows up and says he has waited for a member of The System to get fired. Eddie is bewildered by Deaner's sudden appearance, but Deaner says not everyone is on the same page and advises Moose that he does not have to make a choice and to let this be the people's choice. He says that the only thing more interesting than a public firing would be a public resignation, and asks the fans if Moose should be in or out. The fans make it clear they want Moose out. Deaner tells Moose to listen to the people, as the people have spoken, and Moose thinks on it before telling Cody Deaner that the people are absolutely right before booting him in the face. The System then give Deaner a stomping before everyone puts their fists together in the middle of the ring.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella makes Leon Slater the first competitor in the Ultimate X Challenge. Backstage, Mike Santana shows up with a friend named Derek, who is three months sober, and meets with Director of Authority and thanks him for giving Derek a job on the TNA crew. Santino then shows Derek around.

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) make their way to the ring. Matt says that the only thing that is for certain is that everyone's true character eventually emerges and that we saw "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth's true colors, and that all their respect for him is out of the window. He says Nic and his brother "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth have hurt him physically, but it did not scar him. It was not until he returned home and saw the fear and sadness in his kids' eyes, it scarred them, and it hurt him more than anything physical. Matt mentions the scar on his nose from Nic deviating his septum and says it will represent how Nic hurt his children, his rage for Nic and how he is still broken, and that he will delete Nic. Jeff mentions Nic and Ryan being stand-up comedians and calls what they did to them "their GOAT joke," and that they are insane for thinking they will win the tag titles and be the better brother tag team. After Jeff says that Nic and Ryan made a mistake not finishing the job, Tasha Steelz and The Great Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) show up, and John Skyler says The Hardys may be legends, but they have a reality check for them and the fans. He says it is 2025, not 1999, but Matt says the only difference is that The Hardys are now the greatest of all time compared to when they were great. John Skyler says The Great Hands know about being great, and thanks to Mustafa Ali moving on to bigger and better things after beating Mike Santana, they have moved on to the tag titles. Jeff asks the crowd if they want to be a part of Team Extreme tonight, then Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and makes "The Great Hams vs. The Hard Boys" the next match, with The Great Hands getting a title shot if they win.

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) beat The Great Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch). Mance says they are stars, champions, and even on the cover of magazines such as the non-existent "TNA Weekly," then Steph says they make history and that they rule TNA and will soon rule the whole world. Mance says there is nobody better than them before the two of them make out and Director of Authority Santino Marella interrupts. Santino says Steph and Mance cannot call themselves the TNA Digital Media Champions after getting the title from a divorce, then strips them of the title. He then announces that there will be a tournament at Unbreakable, with the winner becoming the TNA International Champion, which every match being a three-way match in honor of "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe vs. "The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels for the TNA X Division Championship from Unbreakable 2005. When Santino asks for the Digital Media Championship, Steph refuses to hand it over, and Sami Callihan shows up to attack Mance and throw him off the stage into a table. Sami then hands the Digital Media title on Santino.

After the commercial break, Derek is forced to meet Mustafa Ali, who knows about Derek's sobriety and that he destroyed another family's life a year ago in an accident that he caused, and that while Derek walked away, the accident killed a little girl. He calls Derek a monster and an addict and that he has been and always will be a monster, then says he is unworthy of happiness before spitting in his face and having The Great Hands throw him out of the room. When Hotch asks why they did, Mustafa says "He's an addict. Addicts destroy themselves."

We hear from personal concierge George Iceman and Heather by Reckless, who says that Ash By Elegance is on vacation and that they will be back stronger than others. Iceman says he has his eyes on a new challenger: Maggie Lee, who has been winning matches but has a bad fashion sense. Frankie Kazarian is in the ring. Kazarian announces Joe Hendry's shoulder injury from earlier tonight, then says that he is sorry that he did not end Hendry's career tonight, because he could have. He then says he could have ended Hendry's career and called his shot, but he is a man of honor and will not call his shot in St. Joseph, Missouri. Kazarian then says that he will call his shot on April 27th in "the great state of California" at Rebellion, and at the end of the night, he will finally be TNA World Champion. All of a sudden, "All Ego" Ethan Page shows up in TNA for the first time in four years and shows his appreciation for how Kazarian is doing business, then says he has beaten Joe Hendry at 100% and that he has pitched a match to Director of Authority Santino Marella. He says that Hook will understand what he is trying to teach him if he can understand that, and asks Hook to believe in him like he believes in Hook. During the match, The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens), who have been watching the match from backstage, are seen laid out backstage on the video screen, presumably by The Gunns (Austin and Colten Gunn), who have also been watching the match from backstage. The Gunns soon show up to protect Jay White and beg for mercy after Billy Gunn grabs a metal folding chair from the timekeeper's area, and Billy Gunn eventually rears back with the chair only for Jay White to hit him with a low blow in full view of the referee, causing the disqualification. After the match, Bullet Club Gold (Jay White, Austin Gunn, Colten Gunn) try to attack Billy Gunn, but The Acclaimed show up and even the numbers game, beating up The Gunns and stopping Jay White from escaping. She says that every time she wonders if someone like her belongs in the professional wrestling business, the fans' cheers reassure her, and that this applause made her into who she is now. Willow says she is so confident from the fans' love and support that she knows she will be the smiling face of TBS. Stokely Hathaway says Willow had "a banger" last week and knocked it out of the park, and says Willow is something special week after week. He says Willow has impressed him and the entire world, then Mercedes Moné suddenly shows up. Tony Schiavone oversees the contract signing for Swerve Strickland vs. Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship at Dynasty. Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana head to the ring first, followed by Samoa Joe. Samoa Joe signs the contract, then says Swerve is working on bad information and that he knows where he is coming from, and that signing the contract for this match is doom and destruction and a big, career-defining mistake for him. Joe says he will also beat Swerve down so severely that he will leave him mentally scarred like he "left Diddy's party too late," and now that Swerve has the right information, he should do the right thing. Swerve tells Joe he has wanted this moment all of his life and has dreamt of this moment because he believed it was not actually possible, and that his destination is filled with a long, winding road of obstacles and roadblocks. He says the journey has taken him to Dynasty, that AEW is creating its own dynasty, and that this is "bigger than the both of us." Swerve says he knows what he is getting into and that Joe is nothing short of a killer, but so is he, and he will show he is every bit of that man." After Swerve tells Joe that this will be his house and to "Run the fade on that, bitch!", this starts a brawl. Swerve tries to coke Joe with his chain, but Joe breaks free, wraps the chain around his right hand and punches Swerve with it. Referees try to restrain Joe, and Joe leaves the ring and heads to the back as a bloodied Swerve crawls to the pen and contract, laughs at Joe, and says "I love this shit!" He says that if this is all Joe has, then he is taking his championship from him. Joe is aghast as he rubs the pen on his own forehead and signs the contract in his own blood, and he gets back in the ring, hits Swerve with a low blow, and puts him through a table with a Uranage.

After praising WrestleMania for living up to its name, he thanks every performer that has ever graced a WWE ring and put their body on the line every single week and the staff and crew that make WWE's events possible, those behind the scenes for making the spectacle of what WWE does possible, and of course, the fans. He says that when WWE makes the news, that is all everyone wants to talk about, and says that the WWE that everyone loves and put over 160,000 to the rafters last weekend is going nowhere and they will be there week in, week out, venue after venue, because they are WWE, then, now, forever and together. Triple H then asks the fans to help him acknowledge one more person: Roman Reigns, who shows up with Paul Heyman and Solo Sikoa. Triple H shakes hands with all three men as he heads to the back and they head to the ring. After Roman demands that Hollywood acknowledge him, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes shows up. Cody says he knows what he wants to talk about and admits that today is turning out a lot differently than he and a lot of people thought it would, then acknowledges that Roman was the better competitor. Cody also states while the world is watching, he knows Roman knows Roman has skated by on many matches and that he had Roman. Cody then says that he already knows what to talk about and that it is all down to one word: rematch. Roman lets Heyman speak, and Heyman says he was thinking on behalf of Roman when exactly Cody would like this "hypothetical" rematch. Cody bluntly proclaims "Tonight." Heyman says "No rematch, not tonight, not in Puerto Rico, not at SummerSlam, not at Survivor Series, not at Royal Rumble, not at Madison Square Garden, not at San Francisco." As the crowd chants "Bullshit," Heyman says this is called "calling the shots" from living on the island of relevance, but Cody says he is not in a normal mood for that after last night, and if Roman refuses to do a rematch, they can do a tag team match and at least do something. Heyman consults with Roman, then declares that he has been authorized by the Tribal Chief that his challenge is accepted, assuming that the partner - someone who wrestled this past weekend is willing to team with him - forfeits any chance at the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. After Heyman mockingly asks Cody who he wants to talk about now, Brock Lesnar shows up. Roman gently holds Solo Sikoa back before they and Heyman leave the ring.

Omos quickly beats Omos.

Backstage, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) meet with Paul Heyman. Heyman says that Roman Reigns has stepped outside to talk to Solo Sikoa about strategy and that Roman appreciates their contributions last weekend and that the food on the plane is ready. After The Usos leave, Paul Heyman re-enters Roman's locker room, and he can be heard saying "I took care of it, my Tribal Chief."

Cathy Kelley interviews Bad Bunny at the front row. Bad Bunny says he is happy to be the host of Backlash in Puerto Rico this year. He says that tonight, he is just enjoying the show as the fan, but he is grateful for everything.

Rey Mysterio heads to the ring. Rey says that this has been an emotional week after being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame and thanks the fans for welcoming him with open arms and making this possible, and thanks Bad Bunny for the help last night. Suddenly, Austin Theory shows up and says the both of them deserve a little respect, as they both did what they said they would do at WrestleMania after he beat a legend and Rey beat "the product of his own bad parenting." The crowd chants "You tapped out!" as Theory says the difference is because Rey is too busy correcting the past, and says the fans tapped out because they didn't believe in him like Dominik Mysterio did not believe in Rey. He then says that John Cena told him that the fans would eat him alive tonight, then asks the fans where it is at before saying he does not suck because he beat John Cena, which leads to a "Cena" chant. Theory says Cena is not here because he is a part-timer, then says that the fans should be cheering Rey's name at the top of their lungs because he is just like Cena, and that he will beat him too and make him part of the collection. Rey tells Theory that all he will be collecting is his teeth after he hits him with the 619. This starts a match.

Austin Theory beats Rey Mysterio after Rey knocks an interfering Dominik Mysterio off the ring apron. After the match, Dominik hits Rey with mounted punches, then looks and points at Bad Bunny before confronting him at the front row. Dominik turns away, then Bad Bunny punches him when he goes for the cheap shot. Damian Priest then grabs Bad Bunny and throws him over the barricade, telling him he should not have gotten involved. Bad Bunny shoves Priest, then decks Dominik again before Priest lays him out. Priest then clears the announce table before choke slamming Bad Bunny, despite Corey Graves warning hm that this will cost him a lot of money. Dominik then gets in the ring and stomps Rey Mysterio before leaving with Priest. Rey then checks on Bad Bunny along with members of Bad Bunny's entourage, and Rey has to call for paramedics.

Backstage, WWE official Adam Pearce chews out Damian Priest for striking Bad Bunny, but Priest tells him that if Bad Bunny was not really his friend, Pearce would really have a reason to be angry.

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn head to the ring. As the fans chant "You deserve it," Owens declares that they deserve the tag team titles but that the fans deserve them, too. The fans then chant for Sami, who says that it has been a crazy year for him, having gone from a match with Johnny Knoxville to becoming a tag team champion, and thanks the fans for making this possible. Sami then states that he knows that Los Angeles loves to celebrate, and Owens says that while this is pretty good, nothing says celebration like a good fight and giving his all. He also states that there are those in the locker room who want to make a name for themselves against the new tag team champions, then lays down an open challenge. The challenge is answered by The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). Montez Ford congratulates Owens and Sami for winning the tag team titles, then Angelo Dawkins that he and Montez are also coming off a WrestleMania victory. Montez says they have put down stamp after stamp, but nobody knows their names.

Seth Rollins then heads to the ring. After the commercial break, everyone is still singing Rollins' entrance theme as Rollins leaves.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Bobby Lashley. As he mentions not having a WrestleMania match, Bronson Reed shows up and says they are like uncle and nephew and that Lashley taught him how to lose, and that the student will eventually beat the teacher. As Lashley wants to fight Bronson, Bronson says that school is out tonight and that Lashley will eventually learn his lesson before leaving. Mustafa Ali then shows up and says that Lashley needs to learn how to think "positive-Ali" and not take no for an answer. Lashley comes to the conclusion that he should change his thinking and should not take no for an answer, then take someone into the ring before beating them up and make that someone Ali, which he does, much to Ali's surprise. Lashley then throws Ali around and throws him into the ring, starting an impromptu match. The match end in seconds after Lashley makes Ali tap out to the Hurt Lock.

Backstage, Roman Reigns asks Paul Heyman if The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) are gone. Heyman says they have gone to the jet, then Roman asks Heyman if he knew that Brock Lesnar would be here. Heyman says this is usually when Lesnar takes six to nine months off, then Roman asks how this could happen. Heyman says that he had no idea that Lesnar would answer the challenge despite not getting another chance at the undisputed title, and that Lesnar has nothing to lose. Roman says he will smash Lesnar and Cody Rhodes again, then he will tag Solo Sikoa so they can see who is ready now.

Bianca Belair heads to the ring. Bianca says that she is still Raw Women's Champion, and that he cannot be "The EST" without stepping into the ring, and that Asuka is definitely one of the best and most dangerous women she has stepped into the ring with. After thanking Asuka for pushing her to be the toughest she can be, Rhea Ripley shows up and says Bianca walks around calling herself "The EST" when she is the luckiest in WWE after she decided to challenge Charlotte Flair instead of her. She promises Bianca that they will get back to this and that she will beat her like she beat Charlotte at WrestleMania, then Bianca says Rhea made her decision for a reason and she wants to get in the ring with the best, including Rhea. Bianca tells Rhea that one day, when Rhea is ready, they will really see who is the best of the best. Rhea leaves the ring as if she is looking forward to this, then Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan show up for the next match.

Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan beat Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky) to earn a shot at the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.

Miz says he was hoping not to take on four people in three matches, especially after being surprised by Snoop Dogg, then says WrestleMania is over and that he is done with surprises. Suddenly, Matt Riddle returns for the first time in months. Suddenly, Matt Riddle returns for the first time in months. After Riddle asks the fans if everyone missed him, The Miz hits Riddle with a cheap shot and stomps him in the corner, then Riddle lays Miz out and hits him with the Bro Derek.

It is announced that Bad Bunny has been taken to a local medical facility for a separated shoulder.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interview Becky Lynch, Lita an Trish Stratus. Trish says being involved in a multi-generational face-off and beating Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky) was amazing, and Lita says that she is still on a high and that the three of them are just getting started. Becky says that after nine months of dealing with Damage CTRL, she can think of no better thing to do than elevating the women's tag team titles and beating Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan next week.

Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa vs. "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar ends as soon as it begins. When the match begins, Brock immediately hits Cody with two F-5s, steps on Cody's throat, then hits him with a release German suplex before running him into the barricade. After a vertical suplex into the timekeeper's table, Lesnar rings the ring bell before hitting Cody with a chair and throwing it into the ring. Lesnar then takes the ring steps and smacks them right into Cody, then throws them into the ring. He then hits Cody with another F-5, this time into the announce desk, and chases WWE official Adam Pearce away before getting Cody back in the ring and sending him into the ring steps with a fourth F-5. Lesnar then stands over a downed Cody on the ring steps before pretending to leave, turning around, chasing officials off, grabbing a chair and hitting and choking Cody with the chair.
