We hear from George Iceman and Ash by Elegance. It is announced that while Ash by Elegance has not been allowed to compete at Rebellion for the Knockouts World Championship, she will be at the match and taking on the winner. Xia Brookside shows up and questions if Ash thinks she is deserving of a title shot when she cannot even beat her, then announces that she has met with Director of Authority Santino Marella and has set up a rematch for next week.

In footage from earlier this week, Jordynne Grace says that Matt Cardona has recently gotten injured and that karma is a bitch, and while it will be a straight one-on-one match against Steph de Lander, Steph has no chance of beating her in a fair fight and that she will have a trick up her sleeve at Rebellion. Jordynne says that she will have a trick up her sleeve as well, and that she will see Steph at Rebellion.

Before the next match, Joe Hendry states that at Rebellion, he will be facing Rich Swann, and that Swann will be accompanied to the ring by AJ Francis. He says it will be his goal to make Rich Swann say "Uncle Phil, where did you get that hideous dollar bill spandex? Was it at the dollar discount store, where the discounts are flyin'?" Meanwhile, he will have a whole arena proclaiming that they believe in Joe Hendry.

Joe Hendry beats LSG.

We see a video package for The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) vs. The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) for the TNA World Tag Team Championships later tonight.

Before the next match, Cody Deaner says Jake Something would like nothing more than to get his hands on Mustafa Ali, and says that they can do this either 3-on-2 or have a third partner. He then leaves the choice to the fans as to whether or not he gets to bring out Rhino. The fans make it clear that they want Rhino, and Rhino joins Deaner and Jake to make it a six-man tag match.

The Grizzled Young Vets (Zack Gibson and James Drake) and Mustafa Ali beat Jake Something, Cody Deaner and Rhino in a six-man tag match.

We hear from Steve Maclin, who says that TNA got a fresh start in Las Vegas, Nevada and that he got the first victory in TNA's new era. He says he has stacked up the victories as TNA has gone full circle, and he will make his presence felt.

Backstage, Eric Young is haunted by visions of a red mask crying out for help. He soon finds a masked version of himself, and tells him that he needs him to come back. The masked Eric Young says he is necessary and never really leaves, and that he is always under the surface and easily brought up. When Frankie Kazarian is mentioned, both Eric Youngs agree on facing Kazarian in Full Metal Mayhem, although Eric Young is hesitant about who he will become. The masked Eric says he has adapted a thousand times and that this will be no different. Both Erics become one, and Eric says he will baptize Kazarian in the waters of change.

Rosemary beats Jody Threat as Havok and Dani Luna have a stand-off on the ring apron.

We see a vignette for Jonathan Gresham. Gresham explains the third mask, saying he wears a mask because he has been embarrassed and has gone unheard for years, and that he is ashamed that he has just now learned that life is a costume party and he has shown up with his real face. We also see an image of Gresham sitting with an octopus mask-clad version of himself.

The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) retain the TNA World Tag Team Championships against The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) after Alisha Edwards grabs at Alex Shelley as the referee is tending to Eddie Edwards.

"The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth heads to the ring. Nemeth says that in two days, he will go face to face with Moose in Las Vegas, Nevada. As he talks about his debut, the lights go out, and Moose shows up. Moose says Nemeth may have a story to tell "the idiots" in the crowd who are willing to believe what comes out of Nemeth's mouth, then says that he is putting an end to all that and that Nemeth will lose at Rebellion because he cannot beat the system. Nemeth tells Moose his head games will not work, and says that when he debuted, TNA was where his interests lie, and that he is here to stay. Moose says everyone would love to see Nemeth beat him, then says Nemeth will fumble the ball like he always does. Moose calls Nemeth "a choke artist," and Nemeth threatens to choke Moose out, saying that he made a big mistake as he is in the best shape of his life physically and mentally and he is feeling something he has not felt in a long time. Nemeth says Moose thinks he is getting in the ring with "the old Dolph Ziggler" when he will really be looking across the ring at the man who will beat his ass and walk out with the world title. Moose and Nemeth then have a staredown in the middle of the ring to end the show.

We see a rundown of the card for Rebellion.

In backstage stage footage from last week, Quinn McKay interviews The Foundation (Rhett Titus and "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams). Williams says he cannot wait to ice his back, and says that OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) still has what it takes despite Matt Taven being injured showing up and like a true fighter. He thanks OGK for the fight, and tells them that they have earned their way to the top. Williams then announces that from here on out, all of their matches for the tag team titles will be under Pure Rules as part of their rebuilding of the company.

Backstage, Quinn McKay interviews "The Last Real Man" Silas Young, who calls cheating "using a veteran move" when Josh "The Goods" Woods shows up and says Silas could never beat him fair and square. Silas says he is still the winner in the record book, and says he can pin or submit Woods in a Pure Rules Match if that is what it takes. Woods says he would love to see that. The match is official for next week.

We hear from VLNCE UNLTD (Brody King, Tony Deppen, "The Dirty Daddy" Chris Dickinson, Homicide). Brody King says that is Jay Lethal is "just going to die." Chris Dickinson says that they know about fighting, while Homicide says that he is from Brooklyn and not "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams, and says that The Foundation (Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Rhett Titus, "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams), is going down. Tony Deppen there is violence in honor, and that they are the most violent people. He tells The Foundation for some real violence, as they know what it is and don't believe in their rules. In footage from last week, Fred Yehi says he will not dwell on the past and that he is the business of breaking people after winning the first Pure Rules Gauntlet Match.

Mark Briscoe guests on commentary for the next match.

"The Mecca" Brian Johnson beats Danhausen. During the match, Brian Johnson hurts his leg and Danhausen inadvertently takes out referee Todd Sinclair with Johnson's legs. Johnson tries to put his legs on the ropes for leverage, but gets caught by Sinclair. Sinclair is nearly knocked down again, but Johnson kicks Danhausen in the groin with a mule kick when Danhausen nearly runs Johnson into Sinclair. This allows Johnson to hit The Process for the win. After the match, Johnson says "it's about damn time" that a microphone gets in his hands, that he gets the matches that he deserves and that he ushers in his own decade of excellence, then puts the entire locker room on notice.

We hear from Jonathan Gresham, who says that the fans asked for it and it will happen: he will face Jay Lethal on episode 500 with the ROH Pure Championship on the line. We also hear from Jay Lethal, who calls the match and the episode history in the making, and says that it will be time to figure out who the best wrestler is.

We hear from LSG, who says that he is in the Television title devision because the best have won that match first, and he wants the Television title as a launchpad to success in ROH. He says that his recent matches have launched him to the stratosphere and that Eli Isom is below him. He then mentions his match with Eli Isom at Bound By Honor over a year ago, thinking it would open the doors for both of them, but this match is an opportunity for both of them to ascend to greatness. He says that Eli Isom is capable of greatness but is not on his level, and that he will not let Isom pass him by on the way to the ROH World Television Championship. He says that if anyone wants to make a name for themselves in ROH, they have to go through him, especially if Isom wants a shot at the TV title. We then hear from Eli Isom, who says that his match with LSG is an interesting match-up, as they know each other's games, but this is a new Eli Isom that LSG is seeing, and he is here to win gold. He understands that there is a bit of a competition between him and LSG, and if LSG wants him to go through him first, he will accept that challenge and will not let LSG - or anybody - best him, for the Television Championship is his for the taking. He says that they are both a win away from title contention, and he will get that win when he hits LSG with The Promise.

Eli Isom beats LSG.

We hear from Jay Briscoe, who talks about his entire career in ROH and being there since the begininng before mentioning that he will face his brother Mark Briscoe on the 500th episode of Ring of Honor TV. He also says it will be an honor to shake Mark's hand after he beats him.

Backstage, Jay Lethal sets up a six-man tag team match between the team of himself, Wheeler Yuta and Rhett Titus vs. Fred Yehi, Jonathan Gresham and "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams for tonight's main event in order to set an example to the locker room and define what Ring of Honor is all about. Jay then gets with Tracy after everyone leaves, asking Tracy to start the match with him. Tracy accepts

We hear from Tony Deppen, who talks about debuting in Final Battle while also mentioning the feeling that he was not wanted in ROH. He also talks about his match at Final Battle with Dragon Lee, saying Dragon Lee is a world-class wrestler and that he won some new fans despite not winning the match while also proving that he belonged in ROH. He says that he and LSG ran with the same crowd back in the day, even though they have taken different paths. He says that LSG has had his opportunities, and while LSG may be bigger and stronger, he is tougher, and anything that LSG will try to do to him to avenge his loss at Final Battle is nothing different from what he's experienced in the indies. We then hear from LSG, who talks about his road to ROH while saying that he will not let "the flavor of the month" in Tony Deppen take what is his. He says that while Tony Deppen is tough, they have not faced each other in years, and he has gotten bigger and stronger and has earned it according to Jay Lethal, and that up-and-comers will have to go through guys like him to prove themselves. While he respects what Tony Deppen has done throughout his career, he has grinded it out with the best in the world in ROH and Deppen has only one fluke win on him. He tells Deppen to show he belongs and beat him again.

LSG beats Tony Deppen.

Backstage, Quinn McKay tries to interview The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe). Mark confronts Jay for losing focus on the ROH World Tag Team Championships to fight EC3, and wants him to get back on the metaphorical boat telling him if he's going to get on the boat, he'd better get on the boat. Jay says "Let's do it," and the Briscoes are a team again.

In two weeks on the Championship Edition of Ring of Honor TV: Shane Taylor vs. Rush!

Saturday, November 21, 2020

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for November 21, 2020

We hear from Jay Briscoe, who says that his focus has been shifted as of late thanks to EC3. EC3 says it is an honor to fight him on his quest to see if honor is real, and that it is part of his plan. He says that he envies Jay Briscoefor staying true to ROH while he went from business to business, and says he has his respect as he says that honor and respect are synonymous. Jay tells EC3 he will honor him with an ass-whuppin', while EC3 asks if Jay will shake his hand if he offers it according to the Code of Honor. Jay says he will give EC3 a beatdown as he tells him to bring his A-game, while EC3 tells ay to control his emotions as well as his narrative to show him that honor is real.

EC3 beats Jay Briscoe by disqualification in less than two minutes when Briscoe refuses to let go of a choke in the corner by the count of five. After the match, EC3 attacks Briscoe as soon as he turns around, and security quickly shows up to attempt to break up the ensuing brawl, and EC3 dares Briscoe to hit him with the Jay Driller. When Briscoe goes for it, security immediately holds him back.

Backstage, Quinn McKay interviews Jay Briscoe. When asked why he did not uphold the Code of Honor and refused to let go of the choke on EC3, Briscoe simply says "Fuck him. That's why."

We hear from LSG, who talks about his love for professional wrestling even when he played baseball as akid and how he went to a Ring of Honor show at fifteen years old and was blown away. He says that Jay Lethal showing up as the only local guy from the event was what inspired him to become a professional wrestling. He says that baseball set a foundation for him when he entered professional wrestling, and after a few years, he entered the Ring of Honor Dojo and teamed with Shaheem Ali to form Coast 2 Coast. After last year did not do well, he has re-evalutated his career and he is on a different level, and if anyone wants to enter ROH, they have to prove themselves against guys like him. He admits that Coast 2 Coast's match against Jay Lethal and Jonathan Gresham did not go so well for him, this time is different, and he will take advantage of anything he can after having trained harder than before, as this match means everything to him and he will prove that he can hang as he goes from being the boy who wanted to be Lethal to the man who wants to beat Lethal. We then hear from Lethal, who says that while he did not win the ROH Pure Championship, he managed to find the purest of pure wrestlers in Jonathan Gresham. He also admits he lost to the better man in "Hot Sauce" Tracy Williams, whom he considers a like-minded individual like Gresham. He says that the three of them want to clean up ROH and bring back prestige and honor as those who have put in the time and honed their craft should be rewarded. He says that he has requested a match with LSG, as he has proved that he has the talent and ability as well as the hunger, for he has been in his position, and LSG will get him one-on-one to prove he can hang with the best out there, then tells LSG that nothing is free and that he had better be ready to pay for it.

Jay Lethal beats LSG by judge's decision in a Pure Rules Match after the match reaches its 15-minute limit. Both men shake hands after the match.

John Walters will return to Ring of Honor.

Matt Taven beats Bateman with an O'Connor Roll. After the match, Bateman lays out Taven, then Vincent shows up and says Taven looks a litle too comfortable for his liking before Bateman hits Taven with a piledriver. He asks how one person can be so embarassing, as there is nobody in the arena and Taven still wants attention. Vincent then tells Taven that no matter how hard he tries, he will never get the approval he is looking for, then tells him that everything he has done - as well as his legacy - is nothing more than failure, then pulls out a dart. All of a sudden, Mike Bennett's music plays, and when the lights come back on, Mike Bennett is in the rin. He runs Vincent out of the ring and superkicks Bateman, who he also eventually chases out of the ring. Taven and Bennett then hug in the ring to close out the show.
