Those Dynamite Kids - Dynamite recap for May 7, 2025

"Hangman" Adam Page heads to the ring. Hangman says that it makes a big of a difference whether or not the cans cheer for him as he never thought the fans would cheer for him. He says that the last two years were a special hell and that after everything that happened to him and his family, he wanted revenge and found it. Hangman says he took nearly everything from a man and nearly killed him, and after their cage match, he thought he would feel some kind of joy and some sort of closure, but instead, he felt nothing. He says that he thought he could get that closure by getting in the ring one more time, but he could not do it.He says that he thought he could get that closure by getting in the ring one more time, but he could not do it. Hangman says he did not know why, and since then, he took his anger out on anyone who got in his way, and that pushed everyone around him away. Hangman says he will never forget what Swerve Strickland did to him and he will never forgive him for it, but he will have to put it all behind him. He then addresses entering the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and making his way into the finals. When Hangman mentions Will Ospreay, Ospreay shows up and apologizes, then mentions that this is the first time they have ever spoken to each other despite the locker rooms that they have shared. Ospreay says he and the fans have seen Hangman's journey with their own eyes and how much the finals of the tournament means to him, and mentions how everything changed when Hangman lost everything. Ospreay then mentions that after Hangman beat Kyle Fletcher in the tournament, Hangman smiled again for the first time in a long time, and as much as Hangman must win, he cannot lose, as he has been proving himself as of late. He says that Hangman cannot take his spot back from him and that it is far too little, too late concerning his redemption and that the tournament is now about his ascension. As Ospreay and Hangman argue, The Don Callis Family shows up, and Don Callis says that every day he shows him how stupid he is, he proves that the day he left his family was the stupidest day of his life. He then tells Ospreay that Hangman is a violent psychopath who put his mentor into the hospital. As Ospreay dares Callis to bring two of his men into the ring for a match, Hangman stops him. Callis says that Hangman and Ospreay cannot go an entire segment without killing each other, and decides to take that challenge before he and his family leave.

Stokely Hathaway and FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) approach the announce desk, and Stokely asks Tony Schiavone if the commentary team has an issue with FTR, and mentions that while FTR have issued an apology, Schiavone has negative things to say about all of them. Stokely takes offense to being called "a snake in the grass" and calls Schiavone a "decrepit, pale, pasty piece of shit." Schiavone confronts Stokely, but Stokely shoves back. Cash Wheeler then says that Daniel Garcia gave them no choice but to strike when he turned his back on them, and that what they are about to do is going to hurt them more than it will hurt Garcia. Dax Harwood tells Schiavone to tell Nigel McGuinness that they will see him tomorrow night.

Backstage, Anna Jay and Harley Cameron get focused on their match tonight, then ask who wants to get choked out before Anna rides off on top of Harley.

Cru (Lio Rush and Action Andretti) shows up in the crowd for the next match as The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley) makes their way to the ring. MVP wants to know where all the challengers for the AEW World Tag Team Championships are at, and wants to know if anybody has what it takes to step up to them. Suddenly, Top Flight (Darius and Dante Martin) appears. Darius says Top Flight have been down on their luck lately, and see this as an opportunity. He says that Cru are afraid to step up, then says Top Flight have been hurt before and they get hurt every single time. After Darius says that they cannot die and that The Hurt Syndicate can try their best, Dante says that they are the underdog in this scenario yet they can hold their own. After Darius asks the crowd if they want to see a miracle, Top Flight is suddenly attacked from behind by MJF, who busts Dante open and powerbombs him on the apron before staring down Lashley and yelling "I hurt people!" Lashley smiles and says he will have an answer for MJF next week.

We hear from The Elite (Matthew Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada) and Ricochet. Matthew says that tonight is a great night for them, and Okada tells "The Jet" Kevin Knight to "Have a good night...bitch," before he leaves and Ricochet shows up. Ricochet mentions The Young Bucks' (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) problem with Swerve Strickland and that he knows how to beat Swerve, and if they follow his lead, he will lead them to victory. Ricochet leaves, then The Young Bucks enter their locker room only to find The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir) waiting for them inside.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Will Ospreay. All of a sudden, MJF shows up and plugs the replica Dynamite Diamond Ring on AEW Shop before stating that he hopes Ospreay wins the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament and wins the AEW World Championship so he can beat him for the title. Ospreay says that MJF is not in the tournament because there is a little bit of fear that he could beat him, and MJF says he hopes they wrestle again, because Ospreay will find out he is not on his level. Ospreay stops MJF and tells him he is on another level.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Jamie Hayter. Hayter says the women's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament means more to her than it does to Mercedes Moné and that she will not let Mercedes represent Owen Hart's legacy. She proclaims that she wants to know the real Mercedes, and says that the two of them are nothing alike. Hayter admits she may not be on her level, but she has integrity, grit, truth and enough reason to hurt Mercedes and prove she is not untouchable. Regarding her back, Hayter says she is good to go, then is suddenly grabbed by Mercedes from behind when Hayter says Mercedes is looking past her. Hayter soon chases Mercedes into the box seats and onto the stage, where Mercedes dodges the Hayterade and runs away. This retreat is only brief, as Mercedes soon attacks Hayter from behind and puts her in the Statement Maker before referees break the hold.

Backstage, Alicia Atout interviews Willow Nightingale. Willow says the number of people who want to put an end to The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, PAC, Marina Shafir) is getting longer and that she wants to be among the first. Kris Statlander shows up to handle their business, and Willow says she knows where Statlander is coming from before stating the conversation is over. However, she has no problem facing her in the ring. Kris says she will see Willow in the ring.

Rush attacks "The Jet" Kevin Knight from behind before the next match, and Dralistico is behind Rush to take out the security guards that eventually show up. Rush retreats when "Speedball" Mike Bailey shows up.

"The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada beats "The Jet" Kevin Knight in an AEW Continental Championship Eliminator Match. After the match, Okada continues to attack Knight, then retreats when "Speedball" Mike Bailey gets back in the ring to confront him.

Backstage, we hear from The Don Callis Family. Callis tells The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) to find some other partners so they can fight the whole family and get their asses kicked all the way back to Tennessee like it is 1983.

Backstage, Alicia Atout interviews The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Shelton Benjamin, Bobby Lashley). Lashley is told by his legal counsel, Mr. Harrison Landau, that he will have an answer concerning MJF next week.

Samoa Joe beats Claudio Castagnoli by submission after kicking his way out of the Giant Swing and making him tap out to the Coaquina Clutch. After the match, Wheeler Yuta, Jon Moxley and Marina Shafir show up, but so does Powerhouse Hobbs, who has a metal folding chair in his hands. Hobbs soon smashes the chair into Claudio's back. Joe then slams Claudio into the top of the now-open chair, hurting Claudio's ribs, to end the show.

Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for January 2, 2025

In memory of Jeremy Laymon "Jax Dane", 1976 - 2024.

Joe Hendry heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Hendry says that becoming #1 contender is a promise to himself to become a World Champion, and that it will be the beginning of "The Joe Hendry Era" and leave everyone chanting "We believe." Suddenly, "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth shows up and says "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth will not be happy about this, as Hendry whines, complains and moans to the point that he tarnishes his brothers' reputation. He says Hendry thinks he is a hero and should be champion, but he is mid-carder, not a hero or a main eventer. Ryan also calls Hendry a snake and a backstabber who tries to get ahead in TNA and that he and Nic do not trust him, and that no one else should, either. Hendry says that since Ryan wants to make up stories, he will tell one of his own about how he could not get to sleep until his doctor told him about Ryan Nemeth's comedy special. He says that if he is a mid-carder, then Ryan is a janitor and he should mop the floor and get him a coffee. After Hendry tells Ryan to stop stealing TV time and glory, Ryan says he will get all the glory he needs when he faces and beats Rhino later, and gives Hendry a front row seat. Hendry then says that the match might as well happen right now, and it does.

"The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth beats Rhino by disqualification after Rhino stops him from using a metal folding chair as a weapon only for Rhino to hit Ryan in the back with it.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says that Tessa Blanchard took her ball and left, and now she is back and saying that TNA is hers despite all the hard work she put in to build it. She says she has represented TNA across oceans and companies and even during a pandemic. She says that she is not the same woman she was five years ago, and if Tessa wants to walk back in, she will be waiting to give her the welcome that she truly deserves.

Backstage, we hear from The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz). Wentz says that the tag team titles are being held by absolute legends, but they are making dreams come true and they are riding high. Trey says they want to face The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) for the tag team titles when The Hardys show up and say that The Rascalz remind them of themselves, and throws down the challenge for Genesis. He then says nothing will stop the Hardy train, but if The Rascalz win, they will have beaten the greatest. The Rascalz accept the challenge.

"Inevitable" Ace Austin beats KUSHIDA despite KUSHIDA hurting Austin's left arm during the match. After the match, Ace Austin thanks the fans for their continued support in Chris Bey's absence as well as for the love and support that everyone has shown to Chris. Ace talks about how he was with Chris before Chris went to surgery and how Chris told him he had to win the big one, then says that it is time to be the top guy with the top title and that he wants "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth and the World Championship. Moose shows up and says Ace Austin mentioned the top title but forgot to mention his name, and says the X Division title is the flagship title, as without it, TNA would not be what it is and without him, TNA would not be the hottest company on the planet right now. He says that he is the one holding on to the top title, then says Ace is scared of him and tells him to take the easy way out and go after Nic Nemeth. Moose then mentions Chris Bey, which causes Ace to tell Moose to keep Chris' name out of his mouth. He also says that he has held the X Division Champion three times and has represented the division for years, then says that he is willing to be a four-time champion right now. Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and makes the match official for Genesis with the X Division title on the line.

Backstage, Eric Young and Steve Maclin have a conversation when Jonathan Gresham shows up. Eric Young asks what they are going to do when The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC) show up. Maclin punches JDC, starting a brawl.

The TNA Moment of the Week is DCC (Bram and Eddie Kingston) vs. Decay (Abyss and Crazzy Steve) vs. The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) for the TNA World Tag Team Championships on the January 26, 2017 episode of Impact Wrestling.

Backstage, "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth mocks Rhino as he is checked on by the doctor. "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth shows up wanting to know what has happened, and Rhino shows up angry when his name is brought up. Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and makes a tag team match, and Joe Hendry shows up to be Rhino's tag partner against Nic and Ryan.

Mike Santana heads to the ring with "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander's headgear in his hand. Santana admits he is disappointed after Final Resolution, but he is used to obstacles in his life and he has always beaten them. He then says it is time to get back to being the standard of TNA, then The Northern Armory ("The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander, Judas Icarus, Travis Williams) shows up. Alexander says a lot of people say they want to be the guy, but only few obtain it. Alexander says that he respects Santana and that iron sharpens iron, and says that the wars between The Latin-American Xchange and The North made him into who he was. He also says that The North sent LAX packing. Alexander then says that Santana making a name for himself after leaving TNA went nowhere, then says that he fought week after week until he became the guy, lost the world title just as quickly, and worked his way back to the title to become the standard. He says that as long as he is in TNA, Santana will never be the guy. As Alexander is about to leave, Santana says Alexander is right, but asks if it is because he was kissing the booker's ass. When Alexander gets mad, Santana calls him out on it, and this also leads to a "bald ass head" chant. Santana says he knows who Alexander is and what he is capable is, then says he can beat The Northern Armory and stomp Alexander out and claims he can beat them all in one night to prove he is "the nastiest ever."

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella tells Jordynne Grace that security will handle Tessa Blanchard if she shows up.

Backstage, we hear from Frankie Kazarian. He says he will be waiting and plotting for the perfect time to take his shot at the World Championship when Leon Slater shows up. Kazarian tells Leon Slater that he has "it" and that all he needs is some mentoring, and says that he is willing to help him out. He then has Slater work as his trophy bearer and watch him wrestle, but Slater says he is here to start his own legacy, not be a young boy. Kazarian tells Slater to stay on that road if he wants and to remember who paved that road, and Slater tells him that he just might pass him on that road before he leaves. JDC then shows up and hopes Slater's demons do not catch up with him and that Slater is missing something.

"The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth shows up. He mentions Joe Hendry being #1 contender for the World title and credits the fans for being behind him every step of the way, then mentions their match at Bound For Glory and Hendry coming close to becoming World Champion. Nic says that he has been blown away by Joe Hendry's ascension and knows what he is capable of, then says that representing the TNA locker room as World Champion has been one of his greatest moments. He says that Genesis will be a special night as Hendry is bringing everything he has and that he will do what it takes to stay champion, then mentions next week's tag team match. Ryan Nemeth then shows up and tells Nic that Hendry is a snake and that will stab him in the back just like how Rhino hit him with a chair for no reason, then says they will show Hendry and Rhino that "Nemeth" is synonymous with greatness. Nic reminds Ryan that they are in a tag team match because of him, and while they will take care of business, he needs to calm down. Nic leaves, then Ryan says Nic is very upset right now because of the fans.

It is revealed that the security guard that Director of Authority Santino Marella stationed earlier has been attacked.

Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich and Spitfire (Jody Threat and Dani Luna) beat Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, Tasha Steelz and Rosemary in an eight-woman tag match. After the match, Tessa Blanchard gets in the ring and attacks Jordynne from behind. The losing team joins in, and Rosemary spits green mist into Masha Slamovich's eyes. Meanwhile, Tasha continues to attack Jordynne backstage, choking her with a backpack strap and dragging her down a ramp before telling her to stay out of TNA and shutting her out of the arena.

Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for October 17, 2024

In memory of Joe Koff, 1951 - 2024.

PCO retains the TNA Digital Media Championship and the Canadian International Heavyweight Championship against Rhino in a no-disqualification Pick Your Poison Match.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth. Nemeth says he is not worried about tonight, and as a fighting TNA World Champion, he dreams about nights like this, even though he risks compromising the Bound For Glory main event. He says that he will defend the title regardless and that he cannot wait to see the look on Matt Cardona, saying that Matt Cardona used to be something special and that he will steal the show as he beats him tonight.

NXT-TNA Liaison Arianna Grace shows up and introduces Brinley Reece for the next match. Personal Concierge George Iceman then shows up, insults Johnny Cash and calls him as talentless as the fans, then says Ash by Elegance has more talent and is "hotter than a ring of fire" as he introduces her.

Ash by Elegance beats Brinley Reece. After the match, personal concierge George Iceman says he and Ash have been in the makeover business, and next week, he will host a "makeover party by elegance." George then proposes that Ash give Brinley a makeover, and Ash smears lipstick all over Brinley's face. All of a sudden, Xia Brookside runs into the ring, and Iceman and Ash retreat.

We hear from Rosemary and Wendy Choo. Rosemary says they have kept giving humans chance after chance, and that they hate to lose as they focus on Spitfire (Jody Threat and Dani Luna) and the Knockouts tag titles. Meanwhile, Jody Threat thinks that Rosemary and Wendy are behind the door, but they are not.

"Speedball" Mike Bailey retains the TNA X Division Championship against Leon Slater. After the match, Leon Slater and Speedball shake hands. It is then announced that El Hijo del Vikingo will face "Speedball" Mike Bailey for the TNA X Division Championship at Bound For Glory.

We see a video package for the recent #1 TNA World Tag Team Championship contender's match between ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) and The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy). We then hear from ABC and The Hardys backstage. Ace Austin calls The Hardys his biggest inspiration to be a pro wrestler, then Chris Bey mentions The System ruining their match. He also says that The System will not go away untested next week. Matt Hardy says he and Jeff have been fans of ABC and that they must take down The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose, JDC), then says Bound For Glory may be the last Full Metal Mayhem match left in The Hardys. Matt says he will prove that The Hardys are still great when they win the tag team titles. Ace Austin says this will be ABC's first that they had to take the torch from The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley), and they will have to take it again at Bound For Glory.

Steve Maclin heads to the ring. Maclin mentions how Eric Young got taken out last week and how he could not do anything about it, then calls out "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander so he can get an explanation for his actions out of him. The Northern Armory (Alexander, Judas Icarus, Travis Williams) shows up, and Alexander calls Maclin one of the nastiest, self-serving scumbags TNA has even seen, and does not buy Maclin's being a hero and having a change of heart. He tells Maclin that it is not worth it to cater to the fans, as he has learned this the hard way, for even as he had big match after big match and became the top guy, the fans turned their backs on him as soon as it all crashed down. Alexander asks why the fans should believe in a failure like him, Maclin says he has been himself since day one and that it is up to the fans to decide, then says that Alexander was the one to believe in him and tell him he was not just some outsider or a failure. He also mentions that Alexander considered him "a TNA name" and even thought that he and Alexander could be a team, but the more Alexander showed his true colors, the more they became nothing alike. Alexander mentions how he held the World Championship for a long time while Maclin barely held on to it for a month, then Maclin says it is not a night to check one's ego before fighting The Northern Armory. The numbers game soon catches up to Maclin, who is soon ziptied before being smacked around by Alexander. Maclin spits in Alexander's face, and Alexander responds with a C4 Spike.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella and NXT-TNA Liaison Arianna Grace are in front of the tumbler for the Call Your Shot Gauntlet Match. Frankie Kazarian shows up, wanting to be in the match this year, as he has been screwed out of title matches all year, which he blames on Santino before smacking him. Santino confronts Kazarian, who then says he has a plan to ensure he becomes champion.

Brian Myers vs. Mike Santana ends before it can start after Santana wraps a chain around his fist and punches Myers out. JDC and Eddie Edwards get in the ring, but Santana takes them both out before wrapping the chain around his arm and hits Myers with Spin The Block. He then tells all three men that he is sick of them before calling Moose out for a fight. When Moose fails to show, Santana heads backstage to look for him only to be attacked from behind by Moose, who tells Santana to be careful what he wishes for.

Backstage, Matthew Rehwoldt hosts a sit-down meeting between Jordynne Grace and Masha Slamovich. Jordynne Grace says she could not get a hold of Masha all week, and wants to know why this is the first time she is hearing about what Masha feels the way she does. Masha admits she came off too strong and apologizes, but she did not know how else to tell her after watching her defeat challenger after challenger and make history while she says that she stood behind her as a friend. Jordynne wants to know how any of this is her fault, but Masha says she had to do what she had to do to make her way to the top, but Jordynne failed to take her to the top with her, which is why she had Jordynne in her corner. Jordynne says that when Masha first showed up, she was undefeated for nine months until she beat her again and again, and she knows that this has affected Masha, because every time she had an open challenge and Masha's music did not hit, she was relieved, because Masha became harder and harder to beat and Masha pushed her to her limit, making her the woman that she is now. Masha says she has grown through this time, too, as she watched her destroy person after person, and it has only made her want this more. She says she may not have been able to beat Jordynne then, but she can do it now, and asks Jordynne how she will feel when her music does hit, she shows up, and they stand face-to-face in the ring. Jordynne says she is happy Masha found the best version of herself, as Masha is one of her closest friends, but she has to beat her just like she did two years ago. Masha says that at Bound For Glory, the Knockouts Championship is coming with her no matter what.

Frankie Kazarian guests on commentary for the next match. Matt Cardona is surrounded by security guards before the next match.

"The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth retains the TNA World Championship against Matt Cardona in a Pick Your Poison Match after PCO shows up and attacks security, allowing Nemeth to hit a distracted Cardona with the Danger Zone to win and retain. After the match, PCO carries Cardona to the back, then Nemeth is attacked from behind by Frankie Kazarian. Joe Hendry runs into the ring and fights Kazarian, and he and Nemeth soon send Kazarian packing. Kazarian asks the fans if they think this is funny, then says he has something they are all going to enjoy: a referee's shirt that he pulls out of his tights. He then announces that he will be the special guest referee for the World title match at Bound For Glory.

Here are the must-see moments from tonight's show!

Thursday, September 19, 2024

Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for September 19, 2024

Alisha Edwards shows up to start tonight's show and calls what happened to The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha, Brian Myers, Moose) at Victory Road "a travesty," as she is no longer a champion in TNA. She says that if it were not for "Masha Slamo-witch," she would still be champion. She also says that if Masha Slamovich thought she would embarrass her in front of the world, then she has another thing coming. Masha shows up, and Alisha says that Masha cannot do anything to her because she is under concussion protocol. Alisha then says she is the brains of the team and that Masha is nothing without her, and that Masha does not understand a word she is saying because she cannot speak English. Masha takes the microphone and speaks to Alisha in Russian, then says - in English - that she understands perfectly and that she is sick of hearing her voice and that she is sick of her, just like the fans. Suddenly, Masha is attacked from behind by Tasha Steelz, but Tasha fights back until she is struck from behind with a shinai by Alisha. Tasha Steelz gets her turn with the shinai when Jordynne Grace suddenly shows up and blocks the shinai with the Knockouts World title. Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers soon show up, but so do The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy). The System (Eddie, Myers, Alisha) and Tasha Steelz get out of dodge as Masha, Jordynne and The Hardys stand tall in the ring, then Director of Authority Santino Marella arrives. Santino makes a six-person tag match between The System and the team of Masha Slamovich and The Hardys, then Arianna Grace shows up and makes a tag match with Jordynne and Karmen Petrovic against the team of Wendy Choo and Rosemary for next week.

Backstage, Eric Young speaks with "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. Young says he has been in Alexander's position and has danced with the devil in the pale moonlight, and that they both look at the business in the same way. He says it is about respect and that the young guys are watching his every move, then tells Alexander that this is bigger that he is and that he needs to think about what he is doing and take it seriously, as he is a leader here.

Backstage, Masha Slamovich is met by Jordynne Grace, who says that she has wanted her to answer one of her open challenges for the Knockouts World Championship. Masha says they will be seeing each other pretty soon, but for now, she has other business. She then knocks on The Hardys' dressing room door to thank them, and reveals that she has met them as a kid and never thought she would team with them. Matt Hardy says that they have had dreams turn into realities themselves and says that they need to get ready for their match against The System tonight.

Fir$t Cla$$ (AJ Francis and KC Navarro) beats Sinner and Saint (Judas Icarus and Travis Williams).

Backstage, Mike Santana shows up with a barbed wire baseball bat, saying he has dug out of holes his entire life and that he wants to see if JDC is willing to walk through the fire, as he will baptize him in his own blood.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews "Speedball" Mike Bailey. Speedball says it feels great to become X Division Champion again after one of the greatest matches in TNA history, and says that the X Division is the most competitive division in all of wrestling and that one must be the best of the best to keep the title. Both men shake on it not with a handshake, but with a "hands shake."

When D'Amore asks Kazarian if this is what he wants to do, Kazarian says he has never been more certain in his life as he hands the X Division Championship over. He talks about his first X Division title win and how he became a player in the industry afterwards. He says that beating a fighting champion in "Speedball" Mike Bailey for his fifth X Division title was as special as the first, and when he won it, he thought about Option C and all of his accomplishments and how he has loved wrestling, which has not always loved him back.
