Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for March 9, 2023

Frankie Kazarian and Rich Swann beat Shera and Raj Singh in the BTI match.

Bully Ray shows up to start tonight's show. Bully Ray still takes offense to Tommy Dreamer saying "someone like you" at No Surrender, and asks the fans what they meant by "someone like [him]." He then says that all he knew is that he threw hot coffee into Dreamer's face, then addresses Dreamer's challenge to a Busted Open Match. He says he does not know what a Busted Open Match is, but it does not matter, as Dreamer will not make it to Sacrifice. He says that Dreamer suffered a burned retina and is issuing a fake challenge to look like a hero, as he knows that he will make it to Sacrifice and the doctors will not medically clear him and that match will never happen. Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and inadvertently starts a "Bobby Ray" chant, much to Bully's chagrin, before stating that Dreamer will be at Sacrifice and making the Busted Open Match official. All of a sudden, Bhupinder Gujjar shows up and speaks to Bully in Hindi, and Santino assumes that Bhupinder has insulted Bully and challenged him to a match right now. Bully says he does not want a match, but Santino says "Too bad."

Bhupinder Gujjar beats Bully Ray by disqualification after Bully hits him with a low blow. After the match, Bully attacks Bhupinder with the steel chain. All of a sudden, Tommy Dreamer gets in the ring and punches Bully a few times, but Masha Slamovich slides into the ring and hits Dreamer with the low blow before he can hit the Death Valley Driver. As Bully Ray is about to hit Dreamer with a piledriver, Mickie James shows up with a Kendo stick and hits Bully in the back to no effect. Mickie avoids a big boot and attacks Masha with mounted punches, but Bully chokes her with the chain until Dreamer gets back up with a steel chair.

We see PCO in the desert with a shovel. He says that last time, Eddie Edwards tried to bury him here, but he is alive. He then calls Eddie Edwards out for a fight.

Backstage, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander meets with Rich Swann about Time Machine's (KUSHIDA, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley) challenge to a six-man tag match at Sacrifice. Swann tells Josh he has his back, then Steve Maclin shows up wanting to be the other partner, wanting to scout Alexander and also make sure he stays healthy for their Impact World Championship match. After Alexander says it is too late to scout him, Maclin finds out that Frankie Kazarian has beaten him to the punch and is part of the team.

Rhino beats Callihan after Angels grabs Callihan's ankle and Kon hits Callihan with a chair behind the referee's back, allowing Rhino to hit the Gore for the win.

Backstage, Dirty Dango is speaking with Director of Authority Santino Marella when Trey Miguel shows up and wants to know what Impact is doing for him. Santino says he will have a hand-picked opponent for Trey, and that there will a six-man "mega match" for the X Division Championship at Multiverse of Matches. Suddenly, Johnny Swinger and "Outlandish" Zicky Dice show up to measure Trey Miguel as they look for an opponent for Swinger. Trey leaves, then Swinger tries to get a job with Dango, who threatens to use his powers as Assistant Director of Authority. Santino has to remind Dango it is not his job, but Dango says it is not a job, but a lifestyle.

In footage from the commercial break, Deaner holds six fingers in front of Sami Callihan before Callihan and The Design (Deaner, Kon, Angels) head to the back.

Jordynne Grace beats Alex Gracia.

Backstage, Moose confronts Joe Hendry. After Hendry starts a "Dancing Moose" chant with the people he is telling jokes to, he is attacked from behind by Brian Myers, and Moose then goes to town on Hendry while Myers talks trash. Myers then tells Hendry that the Digital Media title belongs to him before he and Moose throw Hendry head first into a closed locked.

Backstage, Ace Austin, Chris Bey and KENTA are met by Shane Haste. Haste congratulates Austin and Bey on winning the Impact tag team titles, as does Rich Swann, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and Frankie Kazarian. Austin says he looks forward to seeing their match against Time Machine (KUSHIDA, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley), who he says he and Bey softened up. Kazarian says he, Swann and Alexander have never teamed up before and that they should get some reps for challenging Austin, Bey and KENTA to a six-man tag match next week. Bey says he, Austin and KENTA are not warm-ups, but Alexander tells his team to wear their championship belts or wear their insecurities.

KUSHIDA beats Jonathan Gresham with the Hoverboard Lock. Both men shake hands after the match.

We see footage of Eddie Edwards being driven to the desert.

Killer Kelly sits in a metal folding chair in the middle of the ring. Kelly says she is not very with Taylor Wilde's games with her tarot cards and magic tricks, then calls Taylor Wilde out to entertain an idea of her own game. Taylor Wilde shows up. Taylor says she is not here to play games, as the spirit sends her messages through the cards, and the cards say this is not about Kelly, but about the future and what is meant to be. She then has Killer Kelly pick a card, but Kelly says her destiny does not come from cards and that she makes her own destiny by taking destiny by the throat and choking the life out of it. Taylor says that if Kelly does not choose her own fate, she will choose it for you, and draws The Tower, which is "massive change, upheaval, destruction and chaos." All of a sudden, Kelly is attacked from behind with the metal folding chair by KiLynn King, who then lays Kelly out and lays the Tower card on her.

PCO is seen striking a rock with a shovel as he waits for Eddie Edwards.

Backstage, Killer Kelly is met by The Demon Dollz (Rosemary, Taya Valkyrie, Jessicka). Rosemary says witches cannot be trusted, and had Kelly come to them first, she would have given her insight. She then says that Kelly is a stone cold, single-minded killer and that there is a world out there she is failing to grasp before calling Taylor Wilde a charlatan. Rosemary then says Kelly knows where to find them if she needs their help, but Kelly says she does not and that she is not afraid of two-on-one situations before leaving. Taylor Wilde and KiLynn King then show up, and Taylor says Rosemary almost hurt her feelings and is jealous she can channel black magic. KiLynn then dares The Demon Dollz to stop them if they do not like that, and Rosemary says that if they want a taste of the Knockouts Tag Team Championships, they will make it happen if KiLynn and Taylor renounce their magic. KiLynn accepts, then says The Coven does not kick the door down; they break it down. The Demon Dollz then tell them that witches get stitches at they leave.

Eddie Edwards looks for PCO in the desert with a tire wrench in his hand. He calls PCO out, and PCO nearly attacks him with a shovel. Both men then brawl in the desert, but PCO plants Eddie on the ground. PCO then drags Eddie into a shallow pit where he tries to hit him with a shovel only to be hit by a car. Eddie gets up and gets in the car, and the car drives off.

"The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo guests on commentary for the next match.

Mickie James retains the Impact Wrestling Knockouts World Championship against "The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw after "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo reverses a pinfall attempt by Gisele Shaw as Jai Vidal and Savannah Evans distract the referee.
