Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for August 6, 2026

Before the next match, we learn it is "A Matt-er of Fact" that Matt Hardy is a better actor than "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth. Also, Aimee Garcia is in the front row, and she does not approve of Ryan Nemeth.

Matt "The Broken" Hardy beat "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth after Jeff Hardy beats "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth up for tripping Matt on the outside during the match.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Xia Brookside, who is approaching tonight's match as she does everything else: as the champion. She says that Wendy Choo will not take the Knockouts World title back to NXT, and that Wendy will learn that she is on another level. As she mentions Elayna Black, Elayna shows up, and Brookside tells Elayna to watch what happens to Wendy so that she will think twice about facing her. Elayna has faith that Wendy will beat Brookside, much to Brookside's chagrin.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jason Hotch. Hotch says the International Championship means everything to him, as he is more than somebody's sidekick or supporting cast and that this is not just his championship, but his family's for being there. Hotch says there will not be a day goes by where he takes being International Champion for granted. BDE and Rich Swann show up and congratulate Hotch.

Heather by Elegance beats Mara Sadé to advance in the TNA Knockouts Television Championship Tournament. Before the match, The Personal Concierge George Iceman is blinded again, and it is announced that during last week's Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match, The Personal Concierge suffered a corneal laceration in both eyes.

Backstage, we hear from Moose, who says that he earned his nicknames and that he is respected in TNA because he has proven himself to be the guy who is dependable and the guy who will stick around in TNA as people come and go. He says that Frankie Kazarian calls himself "The King," but Kazarian has not earned that name, and he will give him the opportunity to do that at Lockdown and find out first-hand exactly who he is.

Backstage, Jason Hotch leaves the room where his family is, then Mustafa Ali suddenly shows up. Mustafa says that he is proud of Hotch as he was hand-picked to be part of Order 4, but he is also hurt because Hotch bit the hand that fed him. He says that he has to do what he has to do and take back the TNA International Champion, then promises that no matter what happens to Hotch, he will take care of his daughter, then gently lays his hand on Hotch's wife leg and says she will take care of his wife, too.

KC Navarro bets Brian Myers by disqualification. During the match, Bear Bronson trips Navarro on the outside, but is caught by the referee and is ejected. As Bronson protests, he is attacked with a chair by Ricky Sosa, who forces Bronson to the back. Shortly after this, Eddie Edwards rushes into the ring and attacks Navarro, ending the match. After the match, Eddie continues to attack Navarro, and Fabian Aichner makes the save. Director of Authority soon shows up and makes the match a tag team match between the team of Eddie and Myers and the team of Navarro and Aichner.

The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) beat KC Navarro and Fabian Aichner after Eddie hits Navarro with a shinai slipped into the ring by Alisha Edwards as Navarro goes for Blessing in Disguise before hitting a package piledriver. After the match, Ricky Sosa returns and chases Eddie, Myers and Alisha out of the ring with a metal folding chair.

As per the TNA Injury report, "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth continues to be "in pristine shape." Mara Sadé suffered an abdominal injury tonight, and her status remains uncertain. Rosemary's status is unknown and there is no sign of Rosemary's whereabouts.

Backstage, The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) congratulate The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch), who are backstage, for surviving the Lake of Reincarnation, and Matt Hardy says that both teams are now brothers. We then see there are splotches of pink of the sleeves of The Righteous' clothing.

Backstage, Jason Hotch confronts Mustafa Ali for putting his hands on his wife, and the rest of Order 4 (John Skyler, Tasha Steelz, Mila Moore, Special Agent Zero) intervenes and infights with each other to the point that security has to get involved. Mustafa challenges Hotch to a steel cage match at Lockdown, and after Mustafa leaves, Hotch tells Skyler to come with him, as he is done with Order 4. Skyler says he needs this job, and Hotch says "Alright" and leaves.

The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) head to the ring. Vincent says that The Righteous have either died or they are just changing, as The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy)threw them in and called it the end. He then says you cannot drown an idea, and truth, like vines, keep on growing. Dutch says the Lake did not wash them away, but it showed what comes next, and while water usually cleans the body, the Lake reshapes direction. He says the Lake took them away from The Hardys and towards something beyond them. Vincent says they wanted not to destroy The Hardys, but to reveal them, and they gave something even The Hardys did not realize, and now, The Hardys are "The Ultimate GOATs." He says that everything changed and that their work with The Hardys is finished for now, and they now work towards something greater. Dutch mentions the people who always feel invisible and Vincent mentions the labels forced upon them, then says that with The Righteous, one does not need to live with such labels. Dutch says a flower can easily be trampled, but a garden cannot, and Vincent says that if the world has forgotten your name, that is good, for it is now time for the world to hear theirs. He says they are not looking for opponents, but those dying like a flower with just a little life in them left to bloom into something greater, for they are Righteous and they are many.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella meets with Harley Hudson regarding her contract status, and Alisha Edwards interrupts them to complain about the match from earlier and the rest of the Knockouts division. Jada Stone, who was taking to Harley, returns when Alisha mentions her by name, and Harley gets the idea of beating Alisha in a match to save her career. Alisha accepts.

Backstage, Allie enters a room lit in red and finds six tiny tarot cards on the ground.

The Home Town Man beats AJ Francis. When the match begins, Francis hits The Home Town Man with the TFL right out of the gate, then spits in The Home Town Man's jersey. When he goes for the Down Payment, Elijah's guitar is heard, and Elijah is on the stage, pointing his guitar at AJ Francis. The Home Town Man takes advantage of the situation by pinning and winning with a schoolkid pin.

In footage from earlier today, Tom Hannifan interviews Cedric Alexander. Alexander says that he was sick of being second fiddle, and when he wanted the ball, it was always handed to somebody else. Now, he is X-Division Champion, and says that Leon Slater cannot be mentioned without mentioning him. Slater shows up and takes over from Hannifan, then reminds Cedric that he pinned him last week and refused to give him another shot at the X-Division Championship despite all the chances he gave Cedric. Cedric says he has earned his title while Slater has earned nothing, and that everything about Slater disgusts him, saying that Slater was handed everything and got help from The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) while nobody helped him. Slater wants to know what Cedric's problem is, and Cedric says Slater did in two years what took him seventeen years, and that Slater benefitted off the backs of others. He says that as long as he is X-Division Champion, Slater will never touch the title again, and he will make sure he erases everything Slater has done in this business.

Backstage, Frankie Kazarian is on a payphone when Daria Rae shows up and tells Kazarian that Moose has challenged him to a match at Lockdown. Daria Rae says the match will be a money-maker, and Kazarian says that he will do the match under his terms. He says that it must be an "Escape the Cage" match. Daria Rae agrees and heads off to make the match, then Kazarian addresses Moose on camera, then says that while Moose is the mascot, he sits at the top as the King, and Moose will find out why he is the King.

Xia Brookside retains the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Wendy Choo after running Wendy throat-first into the ropes to break the Dirt Nap and hit Darkside to win and retain. After the match, Elayna Black shows up and heads to the ring, and she and Brookside have a staredown in the middle of the ring.

Backstage, "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth meets Jeff Hardy with a contract in his hand. He mentions Jeff's ability to find the light in people as Jeff is painting with a marker, then knows that Jeff is listening to him. Nic says that he can see through Jeff and that he can wrestle better than anyone else, yet he cannot beat Jeff Hardy, who he says sits there and takes it while being berated by everyone, then says that Jeff Hardy will not take the World Championship from him. He says that he cannot figure out why he cannot beat Jeff Hardy, then says that Jeff will not become World Champion while he is here. Nic signs the contract, as does Jeff. Nic tells Jeff to enjoy his zen moment, for it will be the last he has.

Nic says he feels almost as good as he looks and that everyone is talking about Slammiversary and how he become TNA World Champion. Nic then has Ryan unroll a scroll of all the wrestlers he has put down personally. As Nic Nemeth mentions some guys from high school and college he'd like to face one more time, KC Navarro shows up and admits that he is a little upset about how Nic Nemeth is doing things. This leads to Ryan telling Navarro to get out of the ring, and Navarro threatens to beat Ryan up. Nic tells them to quit arguing when they should be both on the same page, then tells both of them to get it out of their system in a match tonight so they can move on. Nemeth then goes on to declare that he is the best professional wrestler in the world today and dares anybody to face him so they can be added to his list.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Leon Slater. Slater says that he is devastated after coming so close to winning only to Cedric Alexander to steal the victory at Slammiversary, and as long as Cedric carries the X-Division title, he carries the promise that he will come back for him. Slater then says he needs to be the people who have been where he needs to go, such as Eddie Edwards, who he cannot wait to teach a lesson after his actions at Slammiversary. Slater says he is still the face of the X-Division, title or not, and if he wants to be a future World Champion, he has to beat Eddie tonight.

Mara Sadé beats Tasha Steelz to advance in the TNA Knockouts Television Championship Tournament. After the match, Mustafa Ali and Special Agent Zero show up, and Mustafa Ali pulls out his phone to make a phone call.

Ricky Sosa heads to the ring. Ricky says it feels great to be standing in the ring after beating Eric Young at Slammiversary in his first TNA pay-per-view and standing tall like a man. He says he has proven why he belongs in TNA, then says that this is just the beginning. He says he hears people talking and felt the pressure, and all that remained was "Bang Bang, Sosa Sosa." Suddenly, The Righteous shows up, and Dutch says they also hear the chatter and that Ricky Sosa is "a once-in-a-lifetime signing" with the future in his hands, then says attention whispers and waits. He says that some people spend their entire lives not knowing how good they could truly be, which is where they and their ability to create greatness comes in. Vincent says that The Hardys thought they had their stories written, but he and Dutch showed them that there was a new chapter already open, and tells Ricky Sosa that with The Righteous, there are no limits. The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Bear Bronson, Cedric Alexander) suddenly show up, and Alisha Edwards says that the only way for Ricky to make a name for himself in TNA is to ride with The System. Eddie tells Ricky that the truth is right there in front of him with Bear Bronson and Cedric Alexander, and asks Ricky if he wants to be a champion or join a cult. Vincent says Eddie is speaking empty promises, and that The System view Ricky as a threat. Vincent also alludes to Eddie's recent No Surrender Match loss before Ricky Sosa declares that he is joining neither faction and that he is aligning himself with the fans. Bronson attacks Ricky before staring down Dutch, and Ricky boots Bronson in the face. All of a sudden, Leon Slater shows up and fights off The System before brawling with Cedric and getting laid out by Bronson. The System soon overpower both Ricky Sosa and Leon Slater.

She hopes Slammiversary taught Lei Ying Lee that the women's division belongs to Brookside, and says that if anyone comes between her and the title, she will do whatever it takes to keep it. Suddenly, she is interrupted by Lei Ying Lee, who says that there will be a day that she is happy for her and happy that they wrestled each other, but after all Brookside did to her and how Brookside had to cheat to win, she sees not a champion, but "a fake bitch." She says that Brookside now has everything to lose, as she has her championship rematch next week. Brookside tries to hit Lei Ying Lee with the title before escaping Warrior's Way, and Lei Ying Lee says that if Brookside wants weapons, their match can be no-disqualification.

Backstage, Daria Ray is met by Mustafa Ali, who says that he believes in The Great Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) despite their recent failures, and wants a tag team title shot for them. Daria says that she can make that happen next week.

Backstage, we hear from The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero). "Broken" Matt Hardy and Brother Nero considers The Great Hands getting a shot at their titles "a sacrifice" rather than a favor. Brother Nero says that together with the "The Die-Hardys," he and Matt have "the nuts and the guts to accomplish anything." Matt Hardy says that The Great Hands will learn why they are the greatest tag team of all time.

Eddie Edwards beats Leon Slater after the distraction from Alisha Edwards and after Slater fends off Cedric Alexander's interference attempt. After the match, Eddie and Cedric attack Slater before Ricky Sosa suddenly shows up and makes the save for Slater.

Eric Young hits BDE with a cheap shot and goes on the attack, and referees show up to stop Eric Young as he goes for a piledriver, which Eric Young hits anyway. They then say that they can see the cracks forming and that she is losing what she has worked hard to gain. We then realize that they have been talking to Raven, who wants to know if Rosemary is ready to win championship gold again. Rosemary takes a knife to Raven, but Raven proposes she have a Raven's Rules match to satiate her bloodthirst. Rosemary likes the idea.

Before the next match, John Skyler says it is ironic that the fans boo him and Jason Hotch, but they cheer The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz), and claims that their treehouse is better than the fans' trailer parks. He says the fans do not cheer for their sports team because they could not even win a scrimmage, then says he and Hotch will give the fans a treat when they win with "these good hands."

The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz) beat The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch).

Backstage, Steve Maclin says The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC) not only crossed a line, but tried to end Jonathan Gresham's career. He says that if they want to send a message, then that message has been received. Eric Young says that they are renegades and that they will issue their own brand of justice. Suddenly, Fir$t Cla$$ (AJ Francis and KC Navarro) interrupts, and AJ Francis asks why Young and Maclin are pretending to be tough guys before stating he and Navarro are interested in tag team gold and that they will have no problem stepping over them.

Alisha Edwards and Moose head to the ring. Moose declares himself the greatest X Division Champion of all time, and says that Ace Austin will find out first hand why you should always trust The System (Eddie Edwards, Alisha Edwards, Brian Myers, Moose, JDC) when he beats the living hell out of him at Genesis. Moose then tells Alisha to toss the X Division Championship out of the ring while calling it ugly, because at Genesis, he will debut a new X Division Championship "fit for the face of the franchise. Alisha does just that. Moose goes on to say that he was embarrassed to carry the "ugly" belt for the last few weeks. All of a sudden, Andrew Everett shows up and confronts Moose for having the belt thrown down, saying Moose does not belong in the X Division. He says that for the three years in TNA, the X Division and its championship gave him purpose, and that he fought every night for a chance at the title and never got it. After Everett says that TNA was built by the X Division, Moose threatens to put Everett down if he does not leave the ring. Everett says getting Moose to remember anything is a losing battle, then says he is an X Division wrestler while Moose is not. Moose boots Everett in the face, then says Everett just earned a title match and demands a referee.

Moose retains the TNA X Division Championship against Andrew Everett.

Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for January 2, 2025

In memory of Jeremy Laymon "Jax Dane", 1976 - 2024.

Joe Hendry heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Hendry says that becoming #1 contender is a promise to himself to become a World Champion, and that it will be the beginning of "The Joe Hendry Era" and leave everyone chanting "We believe." Suddenly, "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth shows up and says "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth will not be happy about this, as Hendry whines, complains and moans to the point that he tarnishes his brothers' reputation. He says Hendry thinks he is a hero and should be champion, but he is mid-carder, not a hero or a main eventer. Ryan also calls Hendry a snake and a backstabber who tries to get ahead in TNA and that he and Nic do not trust him, and that no one else should, either. Hendry says that since Ryan wants to make up stories, he will tell one of his own about how he could not get to sleep until his doctor told him about Ryan Nemeth's comedy special. He says that if he is a mid-carder, then Ryan is a janitor and he should mop the floor and get him a coffee. After Hendry tells Ryan to stop stealing TV time and glory, Ryan says he will get all the glory he needs when he faces and beats Rhino later, and gives Hendry a front row seat. Hendry then says that the match might as well happen right now, and it does.

"The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth beats Rhino by disqualification after Rhino stops him from using a metal folding chair as a weapon only for Rhino to hit Ryan in the back with it.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says that Tessa Blanchard took her ball and left, and now she is back and saying that TNA is hers despite all the hard work she put in to build it. She says she has represented TNA across oceans and companies and even during a pandemic. She says that she is not the same woman she was five years ago, and if Tessa wants to walk back in, she will be waiting to give her the welcome that she truly deserves.

Backstage, we hear from The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz). Wentz says that the tag team titles are being held by absolute legends, but they are making dreams come true and they are riding high. Trey says they want to face The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) for the tag team titles when The Hardys show up and say that The Rascalz remind them of themselves, and throws down the challenge for Genesis. He then says nothing will stop the Hardy train, but if The Rascalz win, they will have beaten the greatest. The Rascalz accept the challenge.

"Inevitable" Ace Austin beats KUSHIDA despite KUSHIDA hurting Austin's left arm during the match. After the match, Ace Austin thanks the fans for their continued support in Chris Bey's absence as well as for the love and support that everyone has shown to Chris. Ace talks about how he was with Chris before Chris went to surgery and how Chris told him he had to win the big one, then says that it is time to be the top guy with the top title and that he wants "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth and the World Championship. Moose shows up and says Ace Austin mentioned the top title but forgot to mention his name, and says the X Division title is the flagship title, as without it, TNA would not be what it is and without him, TNA would not be the hottest company on the planet right now. He says that he is the one holding on to the top title, then says Ace is scared of him and tells him to take the easy way out and go after Nic Nemeth. Moose then mentions Chris Bey, which causes Ace to tell Moose to keep Chris' name out of his mouth. He also says that he has held the X Division Champion three times and has represented the division for years, then says that he is willing to be a four-time champion right now. Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and makes the match official for Genesis with the X Division title on the line.

Backstage, Eric Young and Steve Maclin have a conversation when Jonathan Gresham shows up. Eric Young asks what they are going to do when The System (Eddie Edwards, Brian Myers, JDC) show up. Maclin punches JDC, starting a brawl.

The TNA Moment of the Week is DCC (Bram and Eddie Kingston) vs. Decay (Abyss and Crazzy Steve) vs. The Broken Hardys ("Broken" Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy) for the TNA World Tag Team Championships on the January 26, 2017 episode of Impact Wrestling.

Backstage, "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth mocks Rhino as he is checked on by the doctor. "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth shows up wanting to know what has happened, and Rhino shows up angry when his name is brought up. Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and makes a tag team match, and Joe Hendry shows up to be Rhino's tag partner against Nic and Ryan.

Mike Santana heads to the ring with "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander's headgear in his hand. Santana admits he is disappointed after Final Resolution, but he is used to obstacles in his life and he has always beaten them. He then says it is time to get back to being the standard of TNA, then The Northern Armory ("The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander, Judas Icarus, Travis Williams) shows up. Alexander says a lot of people say they want to be the guy, but only few obtain it. Alexander says that he respects Santana and that iron sharpens iron, and says that the wars between The Latin-American Xchange and The North made him into who he was. He also says that The North sent LAX packing. Alexander then says that Santana making a name for himself after leaving TNA went nowhere, then says that he fought week after week until he became the guy, lost the world title just as quickly, and worked his way back to the title to become the standard. He says that as long as he is in TNA, Santana will never be the guy. As Alexander is about to leave, Santana says Alexander is right, but asks if it is because he was kissing the booker's ass. When Alexander gets mad, Santana calls him out on it, and this also leads to a "bald ass head" chant. Santana says he knows who Alexander is and what he is capable is, then says he can beat The Northern Armory and stomp Alexander out and claims he can beat them all in one night to prove he is "the nastiest ever."

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella tells Jordynne Grace that security will handle Tessa Blanchard if she shows up.

Backstage, we hear from Frankie Kazarian. He says he will be waiting and plotting for the perfect time to take his shot at the World Championship when Leon Slater shows up. Kazarian tells Leon Slater that he has "it" and that all he needs is some mentoring, and says that he is willing to help him out. He then has Slater work as his trophy bearer and watch him wrestle, but Slater says he is here to start his own legacy, not be a young boy. Kazarian tells Slater to stay on that road if he wants and to remember who paved that road, and Slater tells him that he just might pass him on that road before he leaves. JDC then shows up and hopes Slater's demons do not catch up with him and that Slater is missing something.

"The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth shows up. He mentions Joe Hendry being #1 contender for the World title and credits the fans for being behind him every step of the way, then mentions their match at Bound For Glory and Hendry coming close to becoming World Champion. Nic says that he has been blown away by Joe Hendry's ascension and knows what he is capable of, then says that representing the TNA locker room as World Champion has been one of his greatest moments. He says that Genesis will be a special night as Hendry is bringing everything he has and that he will do what it takes to stay champion, then mentions next week's tag team match. Ryan Nemeth then shows up and tells Nic that Hendry is a snake and that will stab him in the back just like how Rhino hit him with a chair for no reason, then says they will show Hendry and Rhino that "Nemeth" is synonymous with greatness. Nic reminds Ryan that they are in a tag team match because of him, and while they will take care of business, he needs to calm down. Nic leaves, then Ryan says Nic is very upset right now because of the fans.

It is revealed that the security guard that Director of Authority Santino Marella stationed earlier has been attacked.

Jordynne Grace, Masha Slamovich and Spitfire (Jody Threat and Dani Luna) beat Ash By Elegance, Heather By Elegance, Tasha Steelz and Rosemary in an eight-woman tag match. After the match, Tessa Blanchard gets in the ring and attacks Jordynne from behind. The losing team joins in, and Rosemary spits green mist into Masha Slamovich's eyes. Meanwhile, Tasha continues to attack Jordynne backstage, choking her with a backpack strap and dragging her down a ramp before telling her to stay out of TNA and shutting her out of the arena.
