Gia Miller hosts a debate between Director of Authority Santino Marella and Robert Stone. Santino says that two years ago, he came to TNA, and business was not as robust as it is now, and he was outside of his comfort zone. He came with an open mind to put his finger on the pulse of the business, and now he refuses to be pushed around. Stone states that Santino has done absolutely nothing to make TNA a better place, then calls Santino a joke and says he will always be a joke, and that he does not deserve to be in a position of power in TNA. He also states that Santino does not deserve to be in the business, then says it is not about him vs. Santino, but about making wrestling a better place, because when he is in charge, he will fire all the losers and create "real superstars," and make everyone a lot of money. After Stone states that Santino will continue to run TNA into the ground, Santino says he is proud of what he has done and that TNA is rising to the top, and while Stone has a sense of style, he has a sense of what the people want. He considers the fans his family, and that Stone's business acumen does not match up with what TNA has, and that family both sticks and fights together. Tessa Blanchard shows up and attacks Arianna Grace, then also attacks Gia Miller. Masha Slamovich shows up to try to put Victoria through a table, but Tessa stops her. Arianna grabs Tessa by the hair and punches her before she and Masha slam her into the table. When the table does not break, Masha goes for a Death Valley Driver into the table, but the table still does not break. Nevertheless, Tessa is laid out. But when the chaos is done, Robert Stone has Santino Marella's badge.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Matt Cardona states that his match with Steve Maclin for the TNA International Championship will not be happening because Maclin is not medically cleared, and says that if Maclin cannot defend, then he should be the champion. Per the TNA Injury Report, "Inevitable" Ace Austin is on a day-to-day status regarding his leg which was damaged during tonight's match.

Backstage, Matt Hardy and Leon Slater talk. Matt feels like he and Slater have a rhythm as the tag team much like The Nemeths ("The Wanted Man" Nic and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth), but they have something The Nemeths do not: contrasting abilities and experience. He thinks they can succeed as a tag team, but warns Slater to watch what both of The Nemeths are doing, as they can take advantage of the match if they do not. Matt says Slater is a weapon, and he wants to unleash him on The Nemeths and become tag team champions with him at Under Siege.

Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for April 20, 2024

"The GunShow" Brett Michaels vs. Reverend Ash Taylor ends with Brother Bruce and "Righteous" Ryan Rembrandt attacking Brett Michaels shortly after it begins. Brett Michaels soon overpowers them, hitting Brother Bruce with a spinebuster before hitting Ryan Rembrandt with a delayed vertical suplex. When Brett gets his hands on Reverend Ash Taylor, Marrow shows up. Brett lets go of Ash Taylor and confronts Marrow when he gets in the ring, and that allows Ash Taylor to hit Brett from behind with the collection plate so that Marrow can hit Brett with a reverse DDT.

Backstage, The Nyxx Network (Sir Matt and Lord Gaston) make fun of Big John Dalton for having such a "big, fat losing streak" that he could not break it even if he tried. Assistant Matchmaker Michael shows up and asks Big John if he wants to try, and puts him in a match against Lord Gaston. When Sir Matt insists it will be one-on-one, Michael shows up back and bans Sir Matt from ringside.

Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Clique ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Van Viciouss, Secret Service) at the announce desk. Jimmy Blaylock announces that he has gone over Matchmaker and Assistant Matchmaker King Cobra's and Michael's heads and has filed the formal complaint, then calls King Cobra and Michael out. King Cobra and Michael show up, and calls them both the biggest mistakes in Memphis Wrestling before accusing them of putting so many barrier around Van Viciouss that he is unable to do anything without them getting in the way. He also accuses them of keeping Van Viciouss out of the Cobra Cup Tournament and letting the fans sign a petition to remove Blaylock himself from Memphis Wrestling, and also accuses some of the fans of signing the petition twenty times. Blaylock also mentions Van Viciouss being put in a match against "All The Way" Ray Collins with his contract with Memphis Wrestling on the line, and says that he sees no other manager going through that. He then says that he has gone over King Cobra's and Michael's heads and want them terminated from Memphis Wrestling. Dustin Starr explains to King Cobra and Michael that Blaylock directly contacted the Championship Committee and complained that they were unfit to make matches in Memphis Wrestling, even going so far as to claim that he could make better matches than them. He then tells King Cobra and Michael that they are under investigation by the Championship Committee. Van Viciouss proclaims that something was finally done right and that King Cobra and Michael need to be investigated, and Dustin Starr apologizes to King Cobra and Michael, saying that he had nothing to do with the decision and that Jimmy Blaylock made the call. King Cobra tells Blaylock he can investigate him all he wants, as all he does is make the matches the way that the fans want them, but Blaylock immediately accuses King Cobra of bias against The Hollywood Clique. Michael says that Blaylock does nothing but run his mouth and says that maybe Van Viciouss just does not have it, and asks them if they ever thought about that. That gives King Cobra the idea to make one more match as Matchmaker: Van Viciouss vs. Michael.

Jake Painter beats Sycho Simon by disqualification after throwing a metal folding chair at him. After the match, Simon keeps grabbing chairs andhitting Painter with them as referees and security to restore order.

Dustin Starr interviews "The Chosen One" Zay Washington at the announce desk. Zay says he usually likes to get in the ring and handle his business, then says that while SuperBout III was a great show for a lot of people, it was not a great show for him. Zay says he was robbed of his opportunity by somebody he thought he trusted and called a friend and even travelled the roads with, then calls out "All Heart" Blake Christian, saying that he knows he is watching and that he and everybody knows that he is one of the best wrestlers in the world and he is challenging him for the Game Changer Wrestling World Heavyweight Championship. All of a sudden, "The Problem Child" Aaron Roberts and Justin Case show up, and Roberts says that Zay cannot hold a friendship and that he wants to challenge for a title when he could not even hold the Internet Championship. Zay reminds Roberts that he was the one to disgrace the Internet title by spray painting in front of the announce desk, and now he suddenly wants to act like the face of the championship. When Zay calls Roberts "an egg suckin' hypocrite," Roberts sucker punches him. This starts a brawl between the two men that ends with Roberts planting him with an Uranage. Suddenly, Tim Bosby shows up and confronts Aaron Roberts, then gets in the ring. Justin Case holds Aaron Roberts back before the two of them leave the ring.

We hear from K-Toomer, who says that he has seen the recent footage of him getting beaten down about a thousand times over by now, and ever since it happened, people have been asking what his answer is. K-Toomer tells The Circuz that he will get to do something that he has not done in a long time, and simply says "It's on sight."

"All The Way" Ray COllins beats "Main Event" Brad Skimahorn. J. Webb is seen in the front row during the match, and Bradley is eventually distracted by him, allowing Ray Collins to hit the Sliced Bread for the win.

Backstage, Matchmaker King Cobra is met by Ray Ray Sanders and Derrick King. Derrick King mentions what happened last week in the parking lot with The L.A. Hustlers (Notorious Bradley and Ruffshot Lamont), and wants a match where The L.A. Hustlers cannot run and hide and it's just his team against them in the ring. Assistant Matchmaker Michael shows up and proposes a tornado tag match. Ray Ray and Derrick love the idea, and it is soon made official.

Big John Dalton beats Lord Gaston. Sir Matt is barred from ringside during this match.

When asked how he is feeling backstage, "The GunShow" Brett Michaels states that he feels like whipping Reverend Ash Taylor's ass.

Van Viciouss beats Michael. During the match, "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock gets on the apron, and when Michael confronts him and gets his hands on him, the Secret Service agent hands Van Viciouss a chain. As the referee confronts Blaylock, Van Viciouss wraps the chain around his fist and punches Michael out for the win behind the referee's back.
