Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for May 22, 2025

Mustafa Ali beats "Inevitable" Ace Austin by submission after targeting Ace Austin's knee throughout the match and using Tasha Steelz as a human shield. (This ends up being Ace Austin's last match in TNA, due to his contract expiring and not being renewed.)

Backstage, we hear from Rosemary, who says that Xia Brookside has been on the edge for far too long. They then provide a way to push Brookside over: an unconscious Lei Ying Lee.

Aztec Warriors (Laredo and Octagon Jr.) beat The Northern Armory (Jufas Icarus and Travis Williams).

Backstage, Xia Brookside tends to Lei Ying Lee, then says that nobody does not have to cheat or hurt others to succeed, and if Rosemary refuses to listen and wants to drag her down into their world, she will find out she is stronger. She says that she will fight for those who refuse to sell their souls.

We see footage from this week's NXT regarding Trick Williams' and Joe Hendry's musical performances before their match for the TNA World Championship at NXT Battleground.

Gia Miller hosts a debate between Director of Authority Santino Marella and Robert Stone. Santino says that two years ago, he came to TNA, and business was not as robust as it is now, and he was outside of his comfort zone. He came with an open mind to put his finger on the pulse of the business, and now he refuses to be pushed around. Stone states that Santino has done absolutely nothing to make TNA a better place, then calls Santino a joke and says he will always be a joke, and that he does not deserve to be in a position of power in TNA. He also states that Santino does not deserve to be in the business, then says it is not about him vs. Santino, but about making wrestling a better place, because when he is in charge, he will fire all the losers and create "real superstars," and make everyone a lot of money. After Stone states that Santino will continue to run TNA into the ground, Santino says he is proud of what he has done and that TNA is rising to the top, and while Stone has a sense of style, he has a sense of what the people want. He considers the fans his family, and that Stone's business acumen does not match up with what TNA has, and that family both sticks and fights together. Tessa Blanchard shows up and attacks Arianna Grace, then also attacks Gia Miller. Masha Slamovich shows up to try to put Victoria through a table, but Tessa stops her. Arianna grabs Tessa by the hair and punches her before she and Masha slam her into the table. When the table does not break, Masha goes for a Death Valley Driver into the table, but the table still does not break. Nevertheless, Tessa is laid out. But when the chaos is done, Robert Stone has Santino Marella's badge.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Matt Cardona states that his match with Steve Maclin for the TNA International Championship will not be happening because Maclin is not medically cleared, and says that if Maclin cannot defend, then he should be the champion. Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up and tells him that Maclin will be clear and ready to defend next week.

Per the TNA Injury Report, "Inevitable" Ace Austin is on a day-to-day status regarding his leg which was damaged during tonight's match.

Backstage, Matt Hardy and Leon Slater talk. Matt feels like he and Slater have a rhythm as the tag team much like The Nemeths ("The Wanted Man" Nic and "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth), but they have something The Nemeths do not: contrasting abilities and experience. He thinks they can succeed as a tag team, but warns Slater to watch what both of The Nemeths are doing, as they can take advantage of the match if they do not. Matt says Slater is a weapon, and he wants to unleash him on The Nemeths and become tag team champions with him at Under Siege.

Trick Williams guests on commentary for the next match.

Elijah and Joe Hendry beat The System (Moose and Brian Myers). After the match, Frankie Kazarian attacks Hendry and Elijah from behind. Kazarian wants Trick Williams to join in, but Hendry shoves Kazarian away, and Elijah smacks Kazarian with his guitar to end the show.
