Final iMPACT! - iMPACT! recap for August 6, 2026

Before the next match, we learn it is "A Matt-er of Fact" that Matt Hardy is a better actor than "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth. Also, Aimee Garcia is in the front row, and she does not approve of Ryan Nemeth.

Matt "The Broken" Hardy beat "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth after Jeff Hardy beats "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth up for tripping Matt on the outside during the match.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Xia Brookside, who is approaching tonight's match as she does everything else: as the champion. She says that Wendy Choo will not take the Knockouts World title back to NXT, and that Wendy will learn that she is on another level. As she mentions Elayna Black, Elayna shows up, and Brookside tells Elayna to watch what happens to Wendy so that she will think twice about facing her. Elayna has faith that Wendy will beat Brookside, much to Brookside's chagrin.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jason Hotch. Hotch says the International Championship means everything to him, as he is more than somebody's sidekick or supporting cast and that this is not just his championship, but his family's for being there. Hotch says there will not be a day goes by where he takes being International Champion for granted. BDE and Rich Swann show up and congratulate Hotch.

Heather by Elegance beats Mara Sadé to advance in the TNA Knockouts Television Championship Tournament. Before the match, The Personal Concierge George Iceman is blinded again, and it is announced that during last week's Knockouts World Tag Team Championship match, The Personal Concierge suffered a corneal laceration in both eyes.

Backstage, we hear from Moose, who says that he earned his nicknames and that he is respected in TNA because he has proven himself to be the guy who is dependable and the guy who will stick around in TNA as people come and go. He says that Frankie Kazarian calls himself "The King," but Kazarian has not earned that name, and he will give him the opportunity to do that at Lockdown and find out first-hand exactly who he is.

Backstage, Jason Hotch leaves the room where his family is, then Mustafa Ali suddenly shows up. Mustafa says that he is proud of Hotch as he was hand-picked to be part of Order 4, but he is also hurt because Hotch bit the hand that fed him. He says that he has to do what he has to do and take back the TNA International Champion, then promises that no matter what happens to Hotch, he will take care of his daughter, then gently lays his hand on Hotch's wife leg and says she will take care of his wife, too.

KC Navarro bets Brian Myers by disqualification. During the match, Bear Bronson trips Navarro on the outside, but is caught by the referee and is ejected. As Bronson protests, he is attacked with a chair by Ricky Sosa, who forces Bronson to the back. Shortly after this, Eddie Edwards rushes into the ring and attacks Navarro, ending the match. After the match, Eddie continues to attack Navarro, and Fabian Aichner makes the save. Director of Authority soon shows up and makes the match a tag team match between the team of Eddie and Myers and the team of Navarro and Aichner.

The System (Eddie Edwards and Brian Myers) beat KC Navarro and Fabian Aichner after Eddie hits Navarro with a shinai slipped into the ring by Alisha Edwards as Navarro goes for Blessing in Disguise before hitting a package piledriver. After the match, Ricky Sosa returns and chases Eddie, Myers and Alisha out of the ring with a metal folding chair.

As per the TNA Injury report, "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth continues to be "in pristine shape." Mara Sadé suffered an abdominal injury tonight, and her status remains uncertain. Rosemary's status is unknown and there is no sign of Rosemary's whereabouts.

Backstage, The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) congratulate The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch), who are backstage, for surviving the Lake of Reincarnation, and Matt Hardy says that both teams are now brothers. We then see there are splotches of pink of the sleeves of The Righteous' clothing.

Backstage, Jason Hotch confronts Mustafa Ali for putting his hands on his wife, and the rest of Order 4 (John Skyler, Tasha Steelz, Mila Moore, Special Agent Zero) intervenes and infights with each other to the point that security has to get involved. Mustafa challenges Hotch to a steel cage match at Lockdown, and after Mustafa leaves, Hotch tells Skyler to come with him, as he is done with Order 4. Skyler says he needs this job, and Hotch says "Alright" and leaves.

The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) head to the ring. Vincent says that The Righteous have either died or they are just changing, as The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy)threw them in and called it the end. He then says you cannot drown an idea, and truth, like vines, keep on growing. Dutch says the Lake did not wash them away, but it showed what comes next, and while water usually cleans the body, the Lake reshapes direction. He says the Lake took them away from The Hardys and towards something beyond them. Vincent says they wanted not to destroy The Hardys, but to reveal them, and they gave something even The Hardys did not realize, and now, The Hardys are "The Ultimate GOATs." He says that everything changed and that their work with The Hardys is finished for now, and they now work towards something greater. Dutch mentions the people who always feel invisible and Vincent mentions the labels forced upon them, then says that with The Righteous, one does not need to live with such labels. Dutch says a flower can easily be trampled, but a garden cannot, and Vincent says that if the world has forgotten your name, that is good, for it is now time for the world to hear theirs. He says they are not looking for opponents, but those dying like a flower with just a little life in them left to bloom into something greater, for they are Righteous and they are many.

Backstage, Director of Authority Santino Marella meets with Harley Hudson regarding her contract status, and Alisha Edwards interrupts them to complain about the match from earlier and the rest of the Knockouts division. Jada Stone, who was taking to Harley, returns when Alisha mentions her by name, and Harley gets the idea of beating Alisha in a match to save her career. Alisha accepts.

Backstage, Allie enters a room lit in red and finds six tiny tarot cards on the ground.

The Home Town Man beats AJ Francis. When the match begins, Francis hits The Home Town Man with the TFL right out of the gate, then spits in The Home Town Man's jersey. When he goes for the Down Payment, Elijah's guitar is heard, and Elijah is on the stage, pointing his guitar at AJ Francis. The Home Town Man takes advantage of the situation by pinning and winning with a schoolkid pin.

In footage from earlier today, Tom Hannifan interviews Cedric Alexander. Alexander says that he was sick of being second fiddle, and when he wanted the ball, it was always handed to somebody else. Now, he is X-Division Champion, and says that Leon Slater cannot be mentioned without mentioning him. Slater shows up and takes over from Hannifan, then reminds Cedric that he pinned him last week and refused to give him another shot at the X-Division Championship despite all the chances he gave Cedric. Cedric says he has earned his title while Slater has earned nothing, and that everything about Slater disgusts him, saying that Slater was handed everything and got help from The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) while nobody helped him. Slater wants to know what Cedric's problem is, and Cedric says Slater did in two years what took him seventeen years, and that Slater benefitted off the backs of others. He says that as long as he is X-Division Champion, Slater will never touch the title again, and he will make sure he erases everything Slater has done in this business.

Backstage, Frankie Kazarian is on a payphone when Daria Rae shows up and tells Kazarian that Moose has challenged him to a match at Lockdown. Daria Rae says the match will be a money-maker, and Kazarian says that he will do the match under his terms. He says that it must be an "Escape the Cage" match. Daria Rae agrees and heads off to make the match, then Kazarian addresses Moose on camera, then says that while Moose is the mascot, he sits at the top as the King, and Moose will find out why he is the King.

Xia Brookside retains the TNA Knockouts World Championship against Wendy Choo after running Wendy throat-first into the ropes to break the Dirt Nap and hit Darkside to win and retain. After the match, Elayna Black shows up and heads to the ring, and she and Brookside have a staredown in the middle of the ring.

Backstage, "The Wanted Man" Nic Nemeth meets Jeff Hardy with a contract in his hand. He mentions Jeff's ability to find the light in people as Jeff is painting with a marker, then knows that Jeff is listening to him. Nic says that he can see through Jeff and that he can wrestle better than anyone else, yet he cannot beat Jeff Hardy, who he says sits there and takes it while being berated by everyone, then says that Jeff Hardy will not take the World Championship from him. He says that he cannot figure out why he cannot beat Jeff Hardy, then says that Jeff will not become World Champion while he is here. Nic signs the contract, as does Jeff. Nic tells Jeff to enjoy his zen moment, for it will be the last he has.

Here are the highlights from tonight's show!

He says that Mark is looking into the eyes of the Devil and that he will send him back to Delaware to be a chicken farmer. "Timeless" Toni Storm watches the next match from ringside.

Alex Windsor beats Billie Starkz, Queen Aminata and Skye Blue in a TBS Championship 4-Way Qualifier with an inside cradle to Billie Starkz after "Timeless" Toni Storm stops Athena from interfering. After the match, Mercedes Moné shows up and has a staredown with Alex Windsor. Toni Storm gets in the ring, but Athena stalks Toni and hits her with the O-Face before Mercedes hits Windsor with a Backstabber. Mercedes and Athena then have their own staredown in the middle of the ring.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Renee Paquette interviews The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson), who feel disrespected to the point that they demand respect from a production worker as well as a grand entrance.

Renee Paquette introduces Don Callis and "The Protostar" Kyle Fletcher. A painting is hidden behind a black mantle near the middle of the ring. Callis and Fletcher also show up with Lance Archer, Rey Hechicero and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. Two women are also seen carrying a pedestal holding the AEW Continental, International and Unified Championships. Don Callis says that he is building the largest numerical faction in wrestling history for power, for when one has the gold, one controls destiny, and ever since Kazuchika Okada joined him, he already has three championships. He also states that Kyle Fletcher has since become a champion and has retired a legend in the process much like Okada has, and Fletcher states that "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes does not deserve to be in the same ring as him. He also brags about putting Adam Cole on the shelf for good and states that while he may have achieved his destiny, it is only the beginning of his legacy, and that anyone who tries to take the TNT title from him will suffer the same fate. He also brags about putting Adam Cole on the shelf for good and states that while he may have achieved his destiny, it is only the beginning of his legacy, and that anyone who tries to take the TNT title from him will suffer the same fate. Callis brags that he has spent the last two days creating his latest masterpiece: an oil painting of a jacked Don Callis putting the TNT Championship around the waist of Kyle Fletcher. Fletcher loves the painting, and says he owes all this success to Callis. He then says he wants to be a fighting champion, and that his first defense on the way to becoming the best ever seen will be this Saturday on Collision. He says that he will walk out of Collision as champion and tells everyone to get used to his, as he will be champion for a very long time.

Backstage, Alicia Atout interviews Adam Copeland. He says that Christian Cage has learned nothing and has no concept of what he has become, then says he has his own hands full with FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway. He then announces that next week, he will have a match with Stokely Hathaway, and if FTR interfere, their restraining order - which applies both ways - will be null and void. He asks FTR if they will interfere and risk getting their asses kicked, or if they will throw Stokely to the wolves and have him become slowly torn apart.

Before the next match, The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) have to crawl under the video screen when it only raises up one inch. Justin Roberts then reads the instructions given to him from earlier verbatim. When the pyro goes off, it is loud, then only a few fireballs fly by. Their name is then seen in Comic Sans while corny music plays, and "Max and Jeremy" - a reference to their time in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling as "Generation Me" - can be seen on their chyron.

Bandido and Brody King beat The Young Bucks (Matthew and Nicholas Jackson) to face FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) in the finals of the AEW World Tag Team Championship Eliminator Tournament at Forbidden Door.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews The Hurt Syndicate (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin). MVP says that Brody King and Bandido are a magnificent tag team and wishes the best of luck to the finalist. He says that The Hurt Syndicate will be all too happy to hurt whoever wins. MJF shows up, and Lashley and Shelton leave. MVP says that The Hurt Syndicate is about "we" when MJF has been all about "me" and that his ego is more than anyone can stand. MVP gives him the thumbs down, effectively removing him from The Hurt Syndicate, and proceeds to leave him in one piece so he can work towards the AEW World Championship. He also makes it clear that is not just business, but also personal, because if MJF becomes World Champion, Lashley will come after him, and it will be very personal.

Backstage, Alicia Atout interviews FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) and Stokely Hathaway. Dax Harwood says they can see through Adam Copeland and that they got this restraining order for his protection, and Cash Wheeler says that Stokely Hathaway is going through with this because he is the bigger man. Stokely Hathaway says that he is not a professional wrestler and that Copeland is a bully, and that he has been in a fight before. He says the fight continues next week, and that he will do it because his boss asked him to with a smile on his face and will have a bigger smile when he beats Copeland.

We see a video package chronicling the feud between "The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada and Swerve Strickland.

Renee Paquette interviews Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana. Swerve says that the last time Don Callis was ringside in one of his matches, Prince Nana put him on his ass. He also says that last year, he put down Will Ospreay, and says that if he can do that to Ospreay, there is no telling what he can do to Okada. Swerve says that while Okada may be a one-in-a-hundred years talent, he is a talent that has never been seen before and will never be seen again. Swerve talks about how he put the fear of death in Okada, and that this is a big match for Okada because he is facing the biggest man in AEW in him. He says that this is not just about Okada, but about his own redemption, and that he will continue his legacy by defeating Okada and becoming the Unified Champion.

Backstage, Alicia Atout interviews Mark Briscoe. Mark Briscoe says he will do his talking with his fists and that the day of atonement is here for MJF, who he says will pay with his sins. Suddenly, "Hangman" Adam Page shows up, and Hangman mentions their history and that he admires who Mark Briscoe has become the past few years. He hopes that Mark Briscoe is the next to challenge for the AEW World Championship, then wishes him luck.

Backstage, Renee Paquette interviews Queen Aminata when Willow Nightingale shows up and says they will both take care of Triangle of Madness on Saturday. Suddenly, Kris Statlander shows up, but Willow is irritated with Statlander's inability to move on. Statlander throws some confetti upwards, then runs away.

MJF beats Mark Briscoe after hitting him with the Heatseeker. Briscoe gets his foot on the bottom rope, but the referee does not see it, and after the match, MJF moves Briscoe's foot off the rope to preserve his win. Afterwards, MJF attacks Briscoe, then dons the Dynamite Diamond Ring to punch Briscoe out with it. Suddenly, "Hangman" Adam Page shows up and brawls with MJF. Security quickly moves into place and holds Hangman back while MJF leaves through the crowd. Hangman then gets in the ring and checks on Briscoe before going after MJF in the crowd. Once again, security and referees quickly move into place. The brawl then makes its way to ringside as the show ends, and MJF barely escapes a Buckshot Lariat.

Dustin Starr interviews The Hollywood Clique at the announce desk. "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock says they did not steal the Memphis Women's Championship and that they won it fair and square, and calls Dustin Starr "fake news" before saying Derrick King looks like a homeless man. Blaylock takes away Derrick King's crown and has Ray Sanders hand Derrick King his jacket to make it official that Derrick is the Clique's personal assistant, and Ray Sanders is now made their official referee for their matches. Blaylock then rewards "Dirty" Diana Taylor with a paper standee of herself, which Taylor says is the most beautiful thing she has ever seen, as well as a tiara. Dustin Starr interviews "The Best of the Best" Austin Lane and "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane at the announce desk. Austin says he has been gone for a month and has had a lot of time to think. He says he owes people an apology, not for what he did to Matt Williams, but for bringing Matt to Memphis Wrestling. He says Matt asked him for a job year ago, and he should have known what would happen. He then reads the text from Matt Williams, which seems like a joke as Austin reads it, but Austin says that was where the fun and games ended. Austin Lane then says that he has Matt Williams in the ring next week, saying that Matt Williams has gotten the bright lights he wanted before telling Matt "Don't get sunburned, kid."

Ray Sanders is referee for the next match, and The Hollywood Clique has Derrick King open the ropes for Van Viciouss.

The Hollywood Clique ("Dirty" Diana Taylor and Colton Cage) beat Gio Savage and Cassandra Golden after referee Ray Sanders feigns having something in his eyes so as not to make the three count for Gio Savage, allowing Colton Cage to pin a distracted Gio Savage with a schoolkid pin for the win.

Martin says that he has been hearing "Whoop that trick" in the back and that he is tired of hearing it, then asks what a "trick" is. Kapone says to Martin "You da trick!" Martin says he is not "the trick," then says that he has only run from three things - a Rottweiler, a Pit Bull and the police - and that Kapone is none of them, and if Kapone is sure he can whoop him, they can take it to the ring. Kapone tells Martin that he has a special guest and brings in Super Grizz, who makes light work of Martin and gets the win after a three count from a member of Kapone's entourage.

He says that by looking at Seth, he looks into a mirror of his past, then says this will not end well for either of them. Suddenly, Rollins appears on the TitanTron via satellite. He then says that if he has to go through John Cena, then so be it. As Finn Balor says to name the time and place, Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman show up. Roman says Heyman has already explained his position on what happened next week, then says that he also understands why he is running his mouth against John Cena, saying he tried to give Finn an opportunity. He tells Finn to keep his name out of his mouth, then throws the microphone at him. Finn pushes Roman out of the ring, and this makes Roman. Roman walks up to the ring apron, then Finn is attacked from behind by The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). Roman heads to the back as The Usos attack Finn Balor, but when Jimmy goes for a splash, Finn avoids it by putting Jey in Jimmy's away and fends The Usos off. Heyman makes Roman aware of this, and the two of them watch Finn Balor at work. Roman takes off his jacket and gets in the ring, and Roman and Finn brawl. Finn hits the Sling Blade, but as he goes for the corner drop kick, The Usos get back in the ring and attack Finn again. Owens then tries to appeal to Shane's pride and ego, and asks Shane to put his career on the line as well and be the man that he says he is, so that when he beats Shane at SummerSlam, Shane is done. Shane decides to ponder this for a moment, then says no. He then says Owens' ego is what got Owens in this mess in the first place, and says there are many ways to make him quit WWE. After listing them all - pinfall, submisson, count-out, referee stoppage or disqualification - Owens tells Shane that he just exposed to the world that he "doesn't have any balls." We hear from Kofi Kingston, who says he got here despite Randy Orton, not because of him. He says it is incredibly difficult to stand out in WWE, yet he did just that in 2009. He thought he would break the glass ceiling, but Randy Orton beat him and humiliated him. Since then, there were rumors that Orton used his influence to hold him, and even though he would work as hard as he could, he always wondered what it was he wasn't doing. Nevertheless, he kept at it. He then says that waiting eleven years made him more resilient and appreciative of what he had, and that the power of positivity is very real. Kofi also says he wants to inspire people, unlike Orton, who used his power to hold people down. He says that when he beats Orton, it will be vindication.

He then says that he considers Lesnar and his family friends of his, as Lesnar never lets his family get close to anybody. Heyman breaks down emotionally, but he is still willing to answer questions. When asked who he has his eyes on as potential clients, Heyman says that this whole situation, much less this question, is inconceivable to him. When asked who will walk away with the WWE Universal Championship at SummerSlam, Heyman says he has known Lesnar for 16 years and has been through every up and down with him and has never seen Lesnar in a more focused, more prepared, more violent state. Alexa then dismisses Charly Caruso, then says Alicia Fox is a trailblazer who paved the way for everyone else in the women's division and thanks her for her contribution. She then says Rousey is not worthy of a title shot against her, but she will deal with her at SummerSlam. As Alexa tells Alicia not to let Rousey steal her thunder, Rousey arrives with Natalya.

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey beats Alicia Fox with an arm bar in her Raw debut. After the match, Charly Caruso interviews "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey, but Alexa Bliss tries to attack her from behind. The attack fails, and Ronda tells Alexa it doesn't matter how tightly she holds onto the Raw Women's title as it will be hers at SummerSlam.

Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for August 6, 2016

Jay White beats Will Ferrara.

Shibata is coming to ROH at Death Before Dishonor on August 19th...

Mark Briscoe is in the ring. He says he was supposed to be the special guest for The Fish Tank, but says he has delved into the inner workings of the segment and says it's nothing but communist propaganda and divisive rhetoric. He says that it is a front for Bobby Fish to perform mind control, and asks the producers to play his music when Bobby Fish shows up. He then says he will not guest on The Fish Tank and instead host his own show, The Chicken Shack, with Bobby Fish as the segment's very first special guest. Mark Briscoe then introduces Bobby Fish. Fish says he looks like a million dollars while Briscoe looks like an unmade bed. After some odd questions ("Which came first: the chicken or the fish" and "The last time you were in Las Vegas, did you really marry an Ethiopian pigeon?"), Mark Briscoe makes it clear he plans to take the ROH World Television Championship from Fish. Fish then asks Mark Briscoe who he would be if he did, and says that he would be Jay Lethal's secondary title, because as soon as he wins it, it goes back to number two as Fish brought it to the forefront after making Tomohiro Ishii tap out. This gets Mark Briscoe fired up, and security holds him back as Bobby Fish tells him that Vegas is coming and the clock is ticking.

The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) say that the conspiracy continues and the deck is stacked against them, as they've beaten The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) and War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) before and now they have to retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships again.

Jay Lethal retains the ROH World Championship against Colt Cabana. Colt Cabana shakes Jay Lethal's hand after the match, then Jay Lethal asks ROH Commissioner Nigel McGuinness to come to the ring. He does, and tells Nigel McGuinness that there is somebody left to defend the title against: Adam Cole. He asks Nigel to lift the ban on Adam Cole so he can get revenge against him at Death Before Dishonor. McGuinness refuses, saying that if he gives Adam Cole a title shot, he will come across as a hypocrite. Adam Cole shows up and says "You've got to be kidding me," before asking if anybody believes what's happening, thinking that Lethal and McGuinness are in cahoots. He says that unless Jay Lethal defends the title against him, his title reign means nothing. He says that the locker room refers to Lethal as a little bitch instead of the greatest first-generation wrestler, and Lethal tells McGuinness that the only way to set him straight is to beat him on pay-per-view in front of the entire world, and begs McGuinness to reconsider. McGuinness lifts the ban on World title shots for Adam Cole, and Lethal will officially defend the ROH World Championship against Cole at Death Before Dishonor.

Layin 'da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for August 6, 2015

Roman Reigns shows up. He's not impressed with Bray Wyatt starting a Wyatt Family reunion, and he's up for a family war. He challenges Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper to a match against him and Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam. Rusev shows up and tells Roman to get out of his ring, but Roman makes fun of Rusev bringing up Lana and how Summer Rae looks just like her. Rusev says he'll destroy Roman, and Roman calls him out for being a sexist freak, and dares him to come to the ring so he can speak a language the whole world understands: his fists.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) dunk on a random backstage worker on their way to the next match.

The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) and "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E and Xavier Woods).

Team BAD (Naomi and Sasha Banks) beat The Submission Sorority (Charlotte and Becky Lynch) after Naomi reverses an inside cradle from Charlotte and grabs the tights.

Stardust beats Zack Ryder. After the match, Stardust announces that "The Emerald Archer" will go toe-to-toe with him next week, and tells him - Stephen Amell, to be precise - not to let him down and to "be his hero."

Kyle Edwards interviews Big Show. Show mocks both Ryback and The Miz while making references to the Rocky movies, and says he's going to take the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam.
