Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for June 19, 2020

Renee Young introduces "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles for a championship celebration to start tonight's show. Styles says he is "an accolade machine" and that SmackDown is the house that he built, which is why he invited the locker room to ringside to tell them that ringside is as close as they will get to the Intercontinental Championship. He says that the Intercontinental Championship is vindication of everything that he has said and that the title is for those who want to work towards their success, then says there is one person qualified to award him the title: Daniel Bryan. Styles asks Daniel Bryan to get in the ring and award him the belt. Daniel gets in the ring and is initially reluctant to do so, but does it. Styles then demands Daniel congratulate him like a man, which he does. Daniel admits that they may disagree with a lot of things, but he respects Styles' ability in the ring and says he has the potential to be the greatest Intercontinental Champion if he shows up every week as a fighting champion. Styles says he is sorry he allowed Daniel to say anything and tells him to shut up, as they do not share the same vision and only people on his level get a shot at the title. He then says that Daniel is at the back of the list. Daniel then says he is okay with that, and that since Styles is about earning things, then he should defend the title against Drew Gulak, who beat him two weeks ago. Styles declines, saying his opponent must be #1 contender. Suddenly, Matt Riddle - fresh out of NXT - shows up, and Styles sees him as another person looking for a handout. Riddle tells Styles that he is "the bro who's gonna run the show," then Styles punches Riddle. Riddle soon fights back and sends Styles out of the ring, and an angry Styles demands a referee show up, starting a match.

Before the next match, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles declares that his match against Matt Riddle will not be for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Jeff Hardy, who says it has been a roller coaster for him for the last two months and that he has been trying to turn his life around and do what is best for him and his family. He feels that as soon as he is about to turn a corner, he has to put out a fire only to have to put out another, and that Sheamus is a constant reminder of what he does not like about himself. He feels that while winning would have confirmed that he is turning things around, his loss to Sheamus makes him doubt himself, and he has to catch himself before negative thinking takes over. Jeff understands that he is an adrenaline junkie and an alcoholic, and says that Sheamus is just an obstacle on his path to redemption. Jeff also says he is not done yet.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Shorty G. As she does, Mojo Rawley shows up and mocks Shorty G behind his back. After Shorty G says he has eyes in the back of his head, he punches Mojo in the face.

It's time for Miz TV. Tonight's special guest is Mandy Rose. Miz admits he lost focus at Backlash, and John Morrison says it all happened because the rules were changed and that they were planning on being co-Universal Champions. They also mention that they were both looking over their shoulder for Otis, and Morrison says that if it were not for Otis, one of them would be champion right now. Miz then introduces Mandy Rose, who shows up. Mandy says that she and Sonya Deville were best friends for five years, but as soon as Miz and Morrison say that Mandy was a terrible friend, Mandy prepares to leave. Miz and Morrison then stop her and introduce Sonya. Mandy, having none of this, says that Sonya was the one who tried to sabotage her career and that she is done with her. Sonya says she wishes she could be done, but she watches Mandy get the spotlight and question what Mandy did to get it. Sonya then says that Mandy has not done anything with any opportunities given to her, then Mandy asks what Sonya wants, as Sonya can try to hurt her, but she has people who are by her side and that Otis has been loyal to her. Mandy then says that despite being a fighter, Sonya is alone, and asks how long she will hold on to petty resentments. Sonya says she is just confused as to what to do to get "The Mandy Rose treatment," and the only difference is Mandy's appearance. Sonya says that she is done and that she will tear her apart until her insides are just as hideous as her outer appearance. This starts a brawl, and Sonya gets out of the ring thanks to Miz and Morrison. Mandy then slaps Miz in the face and heads to the back.

Bray admits that he lost to Strowman and that he went about everything the wrong way. As he explains himself, Strowman's entrance theme interrupts him. Strowman tells Bray he had his opportunity and failed, and that there are no more games and that their story is over. Bray laughs, and warns him that their story is just getting started. After some Wyatt Family imagery, we see the pre-Firefly Fun House Bray Wyatt, who says that in order to move forward, they must step back to where it all began. Bray says he created Strowman and that it is his duty to destroy him. He says that Strowman knows where to find him, and that all he has to do is follow the buzzards.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 17, 2020

Randy Orton shows up to start tonight's show. We see footage of Randy Orton's appearance and attack on Matt Hardy from last week, then Orton says he is supposed to face Matt in a no holds barred match this week that will not happen, as Matt is not cleared to compete. He says that the Hardys are known to flying to the highest of highs and diving to the lowest of lows, then Matt Hardy shows up wearing a neck brace and tells him to explain why he brutally attacked Edge weeks ago. Matt asks Orton "What the hell is wrong with you?" and says that Orton did not like being asked that question to the point that he tried to take away his passion, but he is not ready and he came to fight him tonight. Despite not being cleared to compete in a match tonight, he is still here, he still has grit, he will not die, and - like Edge - he will always get back up. He says he does not know what his future is, but it will be determined on his terms, not Orton's. Orton tells Matt he should have said goodbye while he could still leave on his own two feet, and Matt gets in the ring. Orton asks Matt what he will do if he decided to RKO him where he stood. He admits that Matt "has balls," then says nobody will understand why he did what he did. He says that he has and always will respect what Matt Hardy has done, and he loves and respects Edge like a brother. Orton then says he is truly sorry and heads to the back. Orton then takes off his vest while standing on the stage as Matt Hardy takes a steel chair into the ring. Orton slowly moves back to the room as Matt dares Orton to finish him. Orton slinks up the apron, then ducks the chair shot and sends Matt's neck into the top rope. Orton then slides into the ring and hits Matt Hardy with an RKO, then grabs the steel chair and slams it into Matt's back and chest before grabbing another chair, removing Matt's neck brace and stopping just short of performing the Con-Chair-To on Matt. Instead of leaving, however, he runs around the ring and pulls Matt Hardy to the outside so he can smash a chair into his neck on the steel steps. He then sits on the chair and stares at Matt, then heads towards the ramp, goes back and does it again, and repeatedly screams "I'm sorry!" at Matt afterwards.

Aleister Black beats Erick Rowan.

Charlotte Flair shows up. After the replay of footage of her attack on Rhea Ripley and acceptance of Ripley's challenge last night at NXT TakeOver: Portland, Charlotte says she wanted to know who was filing Ripley's head with the idea of challenging her. This caused her to look back on the training and the growing pains, as well as her class building up what soon became a third brand, then says that Ripley has not sacrificed as much as she has to make NXT what it is now. She then says that if Ripley has the audacity to defend the title she put on the map against her, then pride will come before the fall and she will humble her at WrestleMania. She then says that everyone is the next big thing until they are not.

McIntyre tells Heyman he can say Lesnar's name all he wants, as he will beat him for the WWE Championship. Heyman says he has profound respect for McIntyre and that he did not come to debate him, then brings out MVP, saying he does not respect McIntyre as much after last week. MVP tells McIntyre that Heyman may not have an issue with him, but he does following his actions from last week. He then tells McIntyre he will beat him and he will see it coming, then hits with a cheap shot with a microphone.

Drew McIntyre beats MVP.

Becky Lynch shows up. Becky says she has been feeling a lot of things over the last week, and while she has come to America for fame and fortune, she has no use for fame and she might as well pay her fine for her next action against "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler in advance. Becky says that bad things will happen when she finds Baszler, as only animals go for the neck to weaken their prey before they end them. She tells Baszler to take a good look at her face, as she is not prey and she has run through former champions. After saying she cut them all down because she had to, she states she is going after Baszler because she wants to. Baszler shows up on the TitanTron and says she will easily win the women's Elimination Chamber match and beat her at WrestleMania, as the path is laid out perfectly for her. Murphy and AOP (Akam and Rezar) are in the ring. They introduce Seth Rollins, who comes to the ring to hold a sermon. Rollins says they are here to celebrate progress, the future and moving forward in their vision, and while phase one may have been met with resistance, it was completed last week when Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe and The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) were vanquished. He says that they proved that anything is possible through sacrifice, hard work and belief, but now, the work begins, and he takes the responsibility of being "Monday Night Messiah" very seriously. Rollins states that phase two will not be easy, but it is necessary and for the greater good, for it is time for them to seek out the weak and non-compliant and find the flaws in the system to rehabilitate if they can and eradicate if they must. He says this is not a promise, threat or warning, as it comes from his heart and is the gospel, and if any remain non-compliant or stand in the way of progress, they will suffer the same fate as the weak. Suddenly, The Viking Raiders show up and brawl with AOP in the ring. AOP are laid out, as is Murphy, while Seth Rollins runs to the stage, where he is met with a Stunner by Kevin Owens.

Styles states that he is the greatest Superstar on any roster or era, and while he has critics, no one can say anything but him when he wins the Tuwaiq Gauntlet Match at Super Show-Down. As Styles continues to speak, he is interrupted by Ricochet. Styles says he was just being nice when he namedropped people when he says it doesn't matter who WWE Champion is, then says Ricochet will never be WWE Champion as he never deserved an opportunity at the title in the first place. Ricochet says that he has earned his title shot and that he will perform the supposedly impossible at Super Show-Down. The O.C. laugh at him, and Ricochet challenges Styles to a match right now. Luke Anderson takes Styles' place for the match, saying he has this and that he is the toughest man in the building.

Ricochet beats Karl Anderson.

It is announced that Matt Hardy has been taken to a local medical facility.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Liv Morgan, who says that she was as excited as anyone to see Ruby Riott return, but when Ruby betrayed her, it could have broken her, but she has found a home in her own skin. She plans to eliminate Ruby in the women's Elimination Chamber match and go on to WrestleMania.

Kevin Owens and The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat Murphy and AOP (Akam and Rezar) by disqualification following the interference of Seth Rollins. After the match, Seth Rollins, AOP and Murphy make an example out of Kevin Owens, whom Rollins accuses of crucifying him since day one. As Rollins says he will return the favor, Street Profits show up and overpower AOP and Murphy. Rollins runs away as Owens, The Viking Raiders and Street Profits clean house in the ring.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 13, 2020

Randy Orton shows up to start tonight's show. He says that he was asked to excitedly welcome everyone to tonight's show, but "excitedly" is not exactly his style. He invites "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles to the ring, then says he will show him why he is a favorite to win the men's Royal Rumble and hit him with an RKO. Styles shows up and asks Orton if he wanted him here so he could brag and fake another knee injury after showing irritation with the RKO he received last week. He then says Orton is not the favorite to win, for he hit an RKO of his own for the win last week. He goes on to say that many people thought his RKO was the best they had ever seen, and that most had said that his RKO was phenomenal. He says that it might be all he needs to throw 29 other men over the top rope to win the men's Rumble. As Styles names a few people he plans to eliminate, Drew McIntyre shows up. McIntyre says his name is part of that list, and while he has had fun with his opponents, he is looking for bigger and better opponents and just so happens to see them having "an RKO-measuring contest." He says that his Claymore is bigger, and after Orton irritably throws his microphone into the air, McIntyre proposes they have a Triple Threat Match right now.

Heyman talks about Lesnar's entrance into the Royal Rumble from last week, then says that his spoilers about Brock Lesnar come to life as they are all made possible by Lesnar himself. He then says that Lesnar will not eke by a Rumble victory; instead, Lesnar will dominate and eviscerate 29 other men to win the men's Rumble, and prove that anyone who doubts his spoilers will be proven false and that only the truth comes from his mouth. R-Truth suddenly shows up and says that while Lesnar may be the favorite to win the men's Rumble, his childhood hero John Cena told him to never give up, and for the first time ever, he is officially declaring himself for the Royal Rumble. He then says it is not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog, and while he may be a big man, Paul Heyman will go flying over the top rope. Heyman reminds R-Truth that he is going face-to-face with Lesnar in the men's Royal Rumble, not him, then R-Truth un-declares himself for the men's Royal Rumble match. R-Truth then makes fun of Paul Heyman talking too much and giving away spoilers, and says that he does not want Lesnar to take him to "Sioux Falls City." Heyman then says nobody likes R-Truth, then Lesnar gets in R-Truth's face. R-Truth then asks Lesnar "What's up?" then dances and sings before Lesnar clotheslines him and hits the F5.
