Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 10, 2018

Renee Young is officially on commentary for Raw, replacing Jonathan Coachman - who will now be the host of the pay-per-view kickoffs on WWE Network - full-time.

Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up with the rest of the heels from the Raw locker room to start tonight's show. As the rest of the heels surround the ring, Strowman brags about how he, Ziggler and McIntyre beat The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) down and feasted on their bloody carcasses. McIntyre then shows a video package of everything leading up to the events from last week. Strowman says the only reason Roman Reigns has the WWE Universal Championship is because he is a coward who cannot handle business on his own. He tells Roman he has his "hounds of justice," but he has his "dogs of war." He says that The Shield, who has been running roughshod, has found out the hard way their strength in numbers is nothing compared to his pack. Ziggler thanks the heels for standing up to The Shield, for themselves and for "what is right." McIntyre asks the fans if they have felt the balance of power shift, as they are now in control and running wild. He says that tonight, they will continue the carnage and set an example by dismantling The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) in their tag title rematch. Strowman says this will be nothing compared to when Roman Reigns gets these hands at Hell In A Cell. Suddenly, The Shield shows up in the crowd. They make their way down to the ring and brawl with everyone at ringside, and Ambrose shows up with a duffel bag with ax handles inside. They make short work of everyone at ringside, including Jinder Mahal. McIntyre, Strowman and Ziggler retreat.

We see footage from earlier today where The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) find their dressing room vandalized by The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan).

Backstage, local law enforcement confronts The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns). Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up, and asks them to leave the premises or else they will lose their championships and they will all be locked up for a long time. They drop their ax handles and leave.

Nikki Bella beats Ruby Riott as Brie Bella stops Liv Morgan from getting physically involved in the match.

Big Show is on stage with some children as part of National Pediatric Cancer Month. After a video package for Connor's Cure, Big Show asks for a round of applause for the Superstars of tomorrow, and says that unlike the WWE Superstars who fight to win every life, these children fight for something far greater. He then introduces all of the children on stage.

We see a video package chronicling the meeting between "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker from last week.

Backstage, 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick tells The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) they will not be ignored or overlooked, as everyone will remember the pain that they cause.

The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) beat Ronnie Ace and Nathan Bradley.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton being made for Hell In A Cell (despite this all happening on SmackDown Live).

As local law enforcement watches who comes in and out, WWE COO Triple H comes out of a limousine on his way to address the fans.

WWE COO Triple H shows up. Triple H says that he said that the aura was back after SummerSlam and that he and The Undertaker would face each other one more time. He says that the WWE legends picked The Undertaker over him to win across the board, at 81% compared to Triple H's 19% in a recent poll with the legends. He then says that when "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels picked him to win, it bothered The Undertaker so much that he actually showed up angry and agitated, accusing Shawn of bitterness and baiting him with threats. Triple H says that re-watching this made him mad, as he felt that The Undertaker lost respect for both him and Shawn. However, this was not the case at all; instead, he had lost respect for himself. Triple H goes on to call those four matches The Undertaker's last moments of greatness, and that he has blamed him and Shawn for his demise. He says that The Undertaker has taken this from business to personal, and that he will put him down at Super Show-Down.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre retains the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) after McIntyre distracts the referee so that Ziggler can eye rake Bo Dallas. After the match, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins show up from out of the crowd and attack Ziggler and McIntyre, forcing them to retreat.

We see footage from Mankind vs. The Undertaker in their Hell In A Cell Match from King of the Ring 1998, which took place twenty years ago this month.

Backstage, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin chews out Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and threatens to have them arrested again, and Rollins calls Corbin out on his hypocrisy and bogus charges. Rollins also tells Corbin that filing a false police report is a crime, and calls for a sheriff to arrest Corbin. Corbin asks Rollins to talk about this in private, and the sheriff and Ambrose leave. Ambrose talks with the sheriff for a while, then Rollins shows up and says he and Ambrose won't be pressing charges against Corbin...for now. The name on the sheriff's nametag is "Ambrose, G."

Kevin Owens vs. Tyler Breeze ends before it can begin with Owens mercilessly attacking Breeze and powerbombing him into the ring apron. Owens says that two weeks ago, he walked away from Raw and it felt great. Immediately after, however, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin asked him to reconsider and come back, because he recognized his value as "the true MVP of Monday Night Raw." He agreed to come back on one strict condition: that he is not held responsible for what he does to his opponents, as his job is to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He says he was doing his job when he annihilated Breeze as well as fought against The Shield. He says this is his job and there is nothing anybody can do about, and Bobby Lashley is to blame. He says that Lashley is the reason that Sami Zayn has been on the shelf instead of by his side, and that he quit because of Bobby Lashley. However, he is also back because of Lashley, and what he did to him last week is only the beginning. He tells everyone to get it right, and reminds everyone that this is "The Kevin Owens Show." He says everyone can expect anarchy, agony and destruction from here on out, and says it is all Lashley's fault.

We see a video packaging chronicling the events leading to "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Championship at Hell In A Cell (despite this all, again, happening on SmackDown Live).

WWE Warrior Award recipient Jarrius "JJ" Robertson is seen in the front row.

Bobby Roode and Chad Gable beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

Nikki Bella is nominated for Reality TV Star of 2018, Nia Jax is nominated for Gamechanger of 2018, and Monday Night Raw is nominated for The Show of 2018 in this year's E! People's Choice Awards. Voting on pca.eonline.com ends this Friday.

In the locker room, Dolph Ziggler is talking with Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman. Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up and announces that Ziggler and McIntyre are defending the Raw tag titles against Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell. Corbin says he needs huge matches for Hell In A Cell, and tells Strowman that Commissioner Stephanie McMahon wants him to take the WWE Universal Championship at the event. Strowman says that right now, he is going "big dog huntin'."

Natalya and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey beat Alexa Bliss and Mickie James with an armbar to Mickie James. Rousey's ribs are hurt during the match. After the match, Bliss hits Ronda with a cheap shot, then runs away.

We see a video packaging chronicling Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at Hell In A Cell (despite the feud being on SmackDown Live).

Backstage, Elias asks for tea, and spits it out when it is not chamomile. Suddenly, Braun Strowman starts yelling, demanding to know where Roman Reigns is as he attacks a backstage worker.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Natalya and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. Rousey says she is fine, and even if she is hurt, she will not pull out of Hell In A Cell because she is still the best even on her worst day.

Elias is in the ring. Elias says he has perfected blues as well as rock 'n roll, then proceeds to play on his guitar. After asking everyone who wants to walk with him, he says that something feels off tonight, then asks if the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday before saying that Tom Brees is done with representing the city. Elias then proceeds to play guitar again when Mick Foley shows up. Foley says he is a big fan of Elias, and says that Elias has a big, resonant voice as a vocalist and that he admires his guitar playing, but says that he does not have a sincere bone in his body as a lyricist. Elias says he knows Foley is here to talk about the 20th anniversary of his Hell In A Cell Match against The Undertaker, and says that he personally saw the match when it happened. Elias says that he would be lying if he were to say that this match was not a special moment, but that was then and this is now, and says that Foley is a broken man who is singing the same sad song he has sung for the last 20 years and barely remembers the words to. Foley says that is him in a nutshell, but he is here to address the future, not the past. Elias tells him he is talking to the future, and while Foley admits Elias is the future, he is talking about six night from tonight. He says that he has asked Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon for a proposition, asking for a role in Hell In A Cell, saying that he felt electricity that night 20 years ago and wants to feel that way again. It was after that match that he met Stephanie for the first time, and asked her not to shut him out and let him be part of the action. He then announces that he will be special guest referee for Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Hell In A Cell. As Foley leaves, Elias tells Foley that this was special, then tells him to take a piece of advice: shut his mouth and head to the back. Foley gets back into the ring and tells him that before he left the office, Stephanie allowed him to make a match tonight. Foley then puts Elias in a match against Finn Balor.

Backstage, Braun Strowman is still looking for Roman Reigns, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.

Finn Balor beats Elias with an inside cradle to counter Drift Away.

We see footage from earlier today where Lio Rush is in the gym with Bobby Lashley, putting Lashley on a pedestal as he tries to become his manager.

Braun Strowman asks Charly Caruso where Roman Reigns is. Charly says Roman has left the building, and says that if Braun heads to the ring, Roman might find him.

One week from tomorrow on Mixed Match Challenge: Jimmy Uso and Naomi vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair!

Next week: The Undertaker returns!

Braun Strowman shows up. Strowman says he is sick of waiting, and dares Roman Reigns to face him in the ring like a man. When Roman does not show up, Strowman says that Roman is a coward, and that there is nowhere for him to run in Hell In A Cell when he is locked in with him and nobody can help him. He also says that if special guest referee Mick Foley get in his way, he will make his match against The Undertaker 20 years ago look like a paper cut. He then says that he will take Roman Reigns to Hell in Hell In A Cell and that he will never come back. Roman Reigns' music then hits, and Braun sees Roman on the commentary table. Both men brawl on the stage, and Braun seems to get the upper hand early on. Strowman then proceeds to break down the announce table and tries to powerbomb Roman, but Roman counters it into a Samoan Drop and puts Strowman through a panel in the stage. Roman then gets back on his feet, picks up the WWE Universal Championship and slowly walks up to where Strowman is before lifting the title up in the air.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 28, 2018

WWE starts tonight's show by celebrating Memorial Day in a segment with real United States military veterans telling their stories.

Braun Strowman shows up. After looking at the briefcases, Braun says he gets motivated when he sees them, as they contain a contract that gives him a guaranteed title shot anywhere in the world at any time. He then says that as Money In The Bank, he will destroy seven other men before climbing the ladder and taking the contract. After that, he will be known as "Mr. Monster In The Bank." He then asks who will stop him, and says The Miz, Bobby Roode, Finn Balor, The New Day, Rusev or Kevin Owens won't be able to before he wins the contract, cashes in and makes sure Brock Lesnar gets these hands. Suddenly, Finn Balor shows up. He tells Braun he is getting ahead of himself, and that he was the very first Universal Champion. He says he never lost the title, and that this fact eats at him every day. He is determined to get back to the top and do that with the contract. Finn Balor says he gave Braun Strowman everything he had last week, but at Money In The Bank, there will be six other men with them and it will be every man for himself. Braun says Finn Balor puts up a really good fight for a little guy. Finn slaps Braun in the face, and Braun responds by tossing him across the ring. Finn is forced to roll out of the ring just before General Manager Kurt Angle shows up. Angle says he sees intensity - one of his favorite I's - then makes a re-match between Finn Balor and Braun Strowman starting right now to start tonight's show.

Kevin Owens guests on commentary for the next match.

Finn Balor beats Braun Strowman by disqualification. During the match, Kevin Owens gets on an open microphone on the commentary table and taunts Strowman, and later, he does the same to Finn Balor. Finn Balor has the match won when Kevin Owens gets on the apron and gets physically involved by attacking Finn Balor. After the match, Kevin Owens pulls out a ladder from underneath the ring and attacks Finn with it. He then tries to attack Strowman with it, but Strowman grabs the ladder and knocks Owens out of the ring before tossing it outside, where it lands halfway up the ramp and nearly hitting Owens.

In the parking lot, Kevin Owens tries to escape but gets caught by General Manager Kurt Angle, who tells him he has a match with Bobby Roode.

We hear from Sasha Banks, who says that she plans to rewrite history in the women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match. She has to get through tonight's Gauntlet Match first, which she says takes luck, but she says you don't need luck when you're The Boss.

Elias is in the ring. Elias is in the ring. He says tonight's song is special, as the words just came to him. He then proceeds to play guitar, but then says tonight's crowd is disgusting and demands the lights be brought in. After the lights are brought in, Elias tries to play again, but he demands the vocals be brought up so he can hear more of himself and less of the crowd. Elias then tries to play a third time, then demands the crowd be completely silent. The crowd boos him, and says he will wait all night until he can hear a pin drop. As Jinder Mahal vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE Intercontinental Championship is announced as the next match following the commercial break, Elias then threatens to leave, which causes the crowd to cheer before the next match begins.

After the commercial break, Elias is still in the ring, saying the crowd needs him tonight and that he has decided to give the crowd another chance. Shortly afterwards, Seth Rollins shows up for the next match. Seth Rollins takes Elias' stool and tosses it out of the ring, and asks that Elias leave. Elias climbs out of the ring, and the next match is allowed to begin.

Jinder Mahal beats Seth Rollins by disqualification after Seth Rollins attacks Jinder with a steel chair, following failed physical interference by Sunil Singh despite Sunil being ejected out of the match. After the match, Seth chases Jinder to the back with the steel chair. Sunil tries to grab Seth's leg, but he gets hit with the steel chair as well. Seth Rollins retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Afterwards, Seth Rollins celebrates on top of the commentary table only to be smacked in the back with a guitar by Elias, who shows up out of nowhere.

Seth Rollins is seen being strapped to a stretcher. Seth tries to get up under his own power, and WWE officials eventually carry him to the back.

Nia Jax shows up, but she is quickly joined by "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey, who guests on commentary. Nia says she is glad Rousey is watching on commentary, because she is going to find out what is going to happen to her at Money In The Bank. Nia then has her opponent in an arm bar, and quickly powers out by getting up, lifting her up and powerbombing her onto the mat. She then tells Ronda the arm bar does not mean much to her, assuming she can even apply it. She then gets her opponent back up and hits her with a Samoan Drop. Nia says she could easily get a victory on that, especially against Ronda, but she is not done yet. She then hits the opponent of her exhibition, Michelle Webb, with a leg drop, and says she's not getting up. Nia then tells Ronda she has faced nobody like her in the UFC, and says that if she wanted to, her leg could crush a woman's chest. She also says what she is about to do can do the same, and hits Michelle Webb with a rolling senton. Nia then says Webb needs some assistance, just like how Ronda will need assistance at Money In The Bank, and dares Ronda to come into the ring and help her out. Ronda leaves the commentary table and heads to the ring. Michelle Webb is out of the ring by the time Ronda stares Nia down, and Nia says she is not intimated by her stare; instead, she finds it humorous. She laughs in Ronda's face, then leaves.

We hear from Dana Brooke, who says Sasha Banks was not kidding when she says it takes luck to win the Gauntlet Match tonight. She says it takes someone who can take the date, crunch the numbers and plan an optimal strategy for victory, and that someone is her.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is met by The B Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel), who are not impressed by Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt. The B Team asks for a tag team title shot. Angle says they will have to do more than beat Breezango (Tyler Breeze and Fandango) twice, and asks what the other teams would think if they leapfrogged over them. Bo Dallas thinks they need the other teams' blessings, and plans a B Team Memorial Day Tag Team barbecue for later tonight.

We hear from The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan). Ruby Riott says they don't care about luck or the odds, and Sarah Logan says that they will tear their competition apart piece by piece as they tear up the other women's clothes in the locker room. Liv Morgan says they have a chance, and they will make the most of it. Ruby says that one way or another, the final slot in the Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match belongs to them.

Kevin Owens beats Bobby Roode with a roll-up. After the match, Braun Strowman shows up and chases after Owens. Roode gets in the way, causing Strowman to catch Owens, get him into the ring and powerslam him as Bobby Roode cheerleads. Roode tells Strowman to do it again, and Strowman does just that. After that, Strowman grabs Roode by the throat and gives him a running powerslam.

Sami Zayn shows up. Sami Zayn says last week went a little too far, and that WWE management have given him the opportunity to submit a public apology. He says that his interview with Bobby Lashley's "three sisters" went too far, and that fans on social media were offended by the segment. Sami said that last week, he did something he promised he would never do: lie to the fans. He then says the three men in women's clothing from last week were not Lashley's sisters and that they were indeed men. He simply wanted to entertain, not to provoke. For that, he is sorry; however, it should be noted that everything he said and all the stories was true, because like all good art, his act was rooted in reality. He does not expect the fans to get it, but in time, the segment will come to be viewed favorably. Sami then says he is the one doing the right thing and exposing the truth about Lashley being a bully, and yet he is the one catching flak. He then says the fans should be the ones feeling sorry, and that the fans should be apologizing to him because he deserves more. Suddenly, Lashley shows up. Lashley says Memorial Day is a special day for families like his, and he thanks and salutes everyone who has veterans in their family on behalf of himself and his family. This starts a "USA" chant. Lashley then focuses on Sami Zayn, then says last week was fun. He also says it gets old quickly, and that Sami has an issue with him. He challenges Sami to a match at Money In The Bank. Sami shakes Lashley's hand after he extends it, then says he will Helluva Kick the smile off his face. Lashley then refuses to let go of Sami's hand and begins to crush it. Lashley then apologizes in advance for all he will do to him in advance at Money In The Bank, then lets go.

We hear from Mickie James, who says that she has the eye on the Money In The Bank briefcase and knows what to do to get there, as she knows how to seize every opportunity. After tonight, she will be the one walking into Money In The Bank.

Drew McIntyre beats Chad Gable.

We look back at Rey Mysterio vs. Kane for the World Heavyweight Championship at Money In The Bank 2010, courtesy of Red Robin.

The Raw tag team division is in the ring for The B Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) Memorial Day Tag Team BBQ. Bo Dallas gives a quick tour of the food, then he and Curtis Axel try to get everyone's blessing to get a tag team shot against Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy. All of a sudden, Titus O'Neil complains about the food, and says there is no way The B Team will skip to the front of the line. Heath Slater says that in West Virginia, this would be a feast. He then agrees with Titus concerning The B Team. It becomes apparent that nobody wants them to have a tag team shot, then Curtis Axel tries to take all the food back. All of a sudden, the food is dumped on The B Team, which starts a food fight. The whole time, Rhyno is eating all the bologna sandwiches, and when he realizes he is the only person left in the ring, he tosses all the food out into the crowd. The B Team then attack Rhyno and put him through a table.

Bobby Lashley vs. Sami Zayn is now official for Money In The Bank.

Next week: Finn Balor vs. Kevin Owens! Braun Strowman vs. Bobby Roode! Nia Jax vs. Natalya!

The B Team demand a tag team title match from General Manager Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle sets up a tag team battle royal where the winners face Bray Wyatt and Matt Hardy for the Raw tag team titles. As The B Team thank Angle, they unintentionally dirty his suit with the food they are covered in.

Charly Caruso interviews Bayley before the next match. Bayley says that regardless of the odds, she has never backed down and does not plan on doing it tonight. Bayley says she will do whatever it takes to make it to the women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Sasha Banks beats Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan, Bayley, Dana Brooke and Ruby Riott in a Gauntlet Match to qualify for the women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match. During the match, Liv Morgan shows back up after Sarah Logan is eliminated so she and Logan can double-team on Bayley before Ruby Riott shows up. They both return again to try to cost Sasha the match, but Sasha manages to fight them off and make Ruby Riott tap out to the Banks Statement to go on to Money In The Bank.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 23, 2018

In memory of Bruno Sammartino, 1935 - 2018.

A ten-bell salute is sounded in honor of the life and career of Bruno Sammartino as the WWE locker room stands at the stage. A video package of Bruno's life and career is then displayed.

Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman show up to start tonight's show. As Heyman introduces himself, he announces that Brock Lesnar will still be WWE Universal Champion after Greatest Royal Rumble. He says that the fans are angry because they think he is going to gloat and say "We told you so" after what happened at WrestleMania, then says they do not have to worry about any gloating as Lesnar does not gloat; instead, he conquers. Heyman says he is the one who gloats, and gloats about how Lesnar busted Roman Reigns open, sent him to Suplex City and hit multiple F5's as if Roman was tomorrow's trash. He then says none of this means anything to Lesnar, as Lesnar does not dwell in the past, even when it was only two weeks ago at WrestleMania. Heyman says Lesnar looks to the future, especially when it is this Friday in Saudi Arabia at Greatest Royal Rumble. As Heyman hypes up Lesnar's steel cage match with Roman for the Universal title, he says that the steel cage match was not Roman's idea and that Lesnar earned the match by beating Roman at WrestleMania. Heyman goes on to say that the deck is stacked against Roman more than ever with this steel cage match, and that when Lesnar gets done with Roman, Lesnar will shred Roman piece by piece so Lesnar comes back to America as Universal Champion while Roman comes back to America in multiple boxes. Before Heyman can finish his sentence, however, Roman shows up. Roman says Lesnar is right, as he does not know how he is going to get back to America, but he is coming home with the WWE Universal Championship, and Lesnar can believe that.

We see social media posts from Arnold Schwarzenegger, Booker T, Dan Marino, Jerry "The King" Lawler and Shane McMahon paying tribute to Bruno Sammartino.

Bobby Roode interrupts Elias' pre-match concert before it can begin.

Elias beats Bobby Roode after pulling Roode forward so the side of his face hits the top rope in order to win with a schoolboy pin.

We hear from Matt Hardy, who says he has spoken to the Oracle and the Delphi and that the future is clear. He announces that he and Bray Wyatt will take the Raw tag team titles at Greatest Royal Rumble, but first, they must face The Ascension. When he asks Bray Wyatt if he is ready, the room gets darker, and Bray Wyatt says they must cast a shadow upon all living things.

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

We see social media posts from Triple H, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, and Bruno Mars honoring Bruno Sammartino.

It's time for The Sami and Kevin Show, a new segment starring Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens. Kevin Owens mourns the void of The Miz leaving Raw, and asks who better to fill the void than he and Sami. Kevin and Sami then say that "Greatest Royal Rumble" is called what it is because they will prove they are the greatest and why they were hand-picked as the crown jewel of the red brand by Commissioner Stephanie McMahon. Kevin says tonight is about new beginnings and new starts, and he and Sami welcome General Manager Kurt Angle to the show. Kevin and Sami provide a lawn chair for Angle to sit in, then talk about how they were part of a toxic work environment and a vendetta against them from SmackDown Live Commissioner Shane McMahon. Sami then says that either Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon either really like them and their talents or really hates Kurt Angle. Angle says if it wasn't for him, "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey would be under Stephanie's thumb and that Stephanie would not have a broken arm. After arguing over how many kids Angle has (and a Jason Jordan joke), Kevin demands that Angle give him and Sami an opportunity on Raw. Angle says he enjoys how Kevin and Sami have treated him and that he finds them endearing. He then announces that he, Daniel Bryan, Chris Jericho and every other Superstar they have endeared will be in the 50-man Royal Rumble match at Greatest Royal Rumble. As for tonight, Kevin and Sami will have a tag team match with Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman.

Seth Rollins is met by Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, who want to be part of "a new Shield," saying that with their DNA, they and Rollins can take over Raw. Rollins says their hearts are in the right place, but he gives them a "hard" no.

John Cena vs. Triple H is announced for Greatest Royal Rumble.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre beat Titus Worldwide (Titus O'Neil and Apollo, now known as Apollo Crews again). After the match, Charly Caruso interviews Ziggler, who says that he has never had anyone watch his back, and that he now has it in the very dangerous Drew McIntyre. McIntyre says he is dangerous to a locker room that has no fire and is only here for a paycheck. He says he is what a Superstar should be like, and he has the credentials to back it up. He says times are changing, and he is the wake-up and reality check WWE needs. Ziggler then says they don't give a damn about stealing the show, as they are the show.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is met by Chad Gable, who thanks Angle for bringing him to Raw. Angle tells Gable he brought him here as a singles competitor when Gable asks him about Jason Jordan. Suddenly, Jinder Mahal shows his irritation with being put on Raw and losing the United States title to Jeff Hardy, who is now on SmackDown Live, and demands he be put back on SmackDown Live. Gable tells Jinder to show him some respect, and when Jinder mocks him, Gable shoves Jinder. Angle tells them to settle things in the ring right now.

Sunil Singh attacks Chad Gable by knocking him off the apron before the match begins. Despite being in pain, Chad Gable goes ahead with the match.

Chad Gable gets an upset win on Jinder Mahal after blocking the Khalass and pinning Jinder Mahal's shoulders to the mat after flipping off the corner.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan). Ruby Riott says their actions last week was a message to Raw's women's division. Liv Morgan says The Riott Squad is here to disrupt, and Sarah Logan says every woman in the locker room is jumping at shadows thanks to them. Ruby says The Riott Squad are like a can of tear gas. They are equal opportunity agitators, and everyone will be on their knees begging for help.

We see social media posts from Vince McMahon, "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Josh Reddick, Madison Square Garden and Kurt Angle honoring Bruno Sammartino.

We hear from Samoa Joe, who is worried that he may not have an opponent for Backlash after Brock Lesnar leaves Roman Reigns buried in the sands of the Arabian desert.

It is announced that Seth Rollins will be defending the WWE Intercontinental Championship against The Miz, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe in a Ladder Match at Greatest Royal Rumble.

In the locker room, Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel try to sell Finn Balor on becoming his "Baxel Club." Finn Balor declines, and turns down the "Too Sweet." Bo Dallas then comes up with another idea.

Bobby Lashley and Braun Strowman beat Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Before the next match, Baron Corbin says he has seen through No Way Jose's plan and knows somebody will jump him from behind. As for himself, he is here to ruin other people's fun and become champion again, but as long as he has his conga line, he refuses to face him. Jose then says that just because Baron Corbin doesn't want him and his conga line to have fun, that does not mean they have to have fun. Jose then gets the party started again. After the rest of the conga line leaves, Baron Corbin rushes back out and attacks No Way Jose from behind.

We see an anti-bullying advertisement from Alexa Bliss, which turns into a smear campaign against Nia Jax. Alexa tells the rest of Nia Jax's tag team partners for tonight, Natalya, Ember Moon, Sasha Banks and Bayley, that it is not too late for them, and that together, they can make the world a better place and she can go on to take back the Raw Women's Championship at Backlash.

Finn Balor and Seth Rollins beat Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel.

Natalya, Nia Jax, Ember Moon, Sasha Banks and Bayley are all ready to take on the opposition in their match tonight. Meanwhile, Bayley and Sasha Banks are not the best of friends.

We see social media posts from Edge, the Pittsburgh Penguins, JBL, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Bret "The Hit Man" Hart honoring Bruno Sammartino.

Alexa Bliss, Mickie James and The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Sarah Logan, Liv Morgan) beat Natalya, Nia Jax, Ember Moon, Sasha Banks and Bayley by disqualification. During the match, Natalya is hit with a chop block, and the resulting leg injury is aggravated when Mickie James keeps hitting Natalya in the leg with baseball slides. This leads to "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey coming into the ring and making Mickie James tap out, even though Ronda Rousey is not even part of the match. After the match, Ronda helps Natalya to the back along with referees.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for August 29, 2017

Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers (Sunil and Samir Singh) show up to start tonight's show. Jinder says he will show his superior skills when he teams up with Rusev in the main event to take on Randy Orton and "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura. He says that nobody knows what it is like to walk a mile in his shoes, and that he is showning nothing but disrespect throughout America when he should be revered as WWE Champion. He says the jingoistic naysayers have laughed since Nakamura made a fool out of him, but he says he is the best as he is WWE Champion. Jinder wants to make an example out of someone, and The Sings apologize to all of India and to Jinder, saying that it was because of them that Nakamura laid a finger on him. They say they do not deserve Jinder, and ask that they kiss his royal feet as they apologize on behalf of all of India. Suddenly, Nakamura shows up, and the Singhs stand between him and Jinder. Nakamura brushes them aside, and stares down with Jinder before the Singhs go after Nakamura. The situation turns into a 3-on-1 brawl until Randy Orton makes the save for Nakamura and fights them all off, but Rusev suddenly shows up and floors him. Nakamura is then laid out by Jinder and The Singh Brothers.

Next week: Randy Orton vs. "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura! The winner earns a WWE Championship match against Jinder Mahal!

Baron Corbin is interviewed by Renee Young. He says that he has not squandered anything as far as the Money In The Bank Contract is concerned, and that John Cena ran away from him to go to Raw. He says that he does not live in the past, unlike the WWE Universe, and since "The Phenomenal" A.J. Styles is giving him an opportunity to answer his United States Open Challenge, he plans to cash in on that.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles shows up for the United States Open Challenge. Now that Kevin Owens cannot challenge him for the WWE United States Championship for as long as he is United States Champion, the United States Open Challenge is back on, and it starts right now. The challenge is accepted by "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger, but he is soon confronted by Baron Corbin. Corbin shoves Dillinger, but Dillinger shoves Corbin harder. He makes his way to the ring only to be blindsided by Corbin, who then yells at Styles. Dillinger runs into the ring and clotheslines Corbin out of the ring before asking for the bell to the rung, answering the open challenge.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles retains the WWE United States Championship in a short, chaotic match against "The Perfect Ten" Tye Dillinger with the Calf Crusher. After the match, Baron Corbin drags Dillinger out of the ring and attacks him, then gets in the ring to go after Styles only to be kicked back out of it by Styles.

Backstage, Rusev is met by Jinder Mahal in the locker room, who is pleased that the best of India and Bulgaria are teaming up tonight. Rusev tells Jinder Mahal that tonight, it is not about Bulgaria or India; it is about revenge. He also reminds Jinder that they are not friends, as he is it to become WWE Champion. After they win tonight, he is coming after the WWE Championship.

Bobby Roode beats Mike Kanellis.

Aiden English is singing in the ring when Kevin Owens shows up. He tells Aiden English that none of these "uneducated Arkansas hillbillies" do not appreciate his talents, and asks that he leaves the ring so he can take care of business. English leaves. Kevin Owens says that he picked his own special guest referee for his United States title rematch, and yet he still lost due to what happened between his pick for special guest referee, Baron Corbin, and Commissioner Shane McMahon. Owens asks what gives Shane the right to put his hands on Corbin and then replace him as referee like he did. One year ago, he was Universal Champion. A year later, he stands in the ring goldless, screwed by Shane twice. He says that this would never happened on Raw, as Stephanie McMahon would not have done this as Commissioner, and says SmackDown is Shane McMahon's personal playground. Shane McMahon shows up, and Kevin Owens says he is here to make the moment about himself. Shane reminds him of what happened between him and Baron Corbin, and says that he had to do what needed to be done. Owens says Shane screwed him again, but Shane says this conversation is over. He tells Owens to leave the ring, as Aiden English has a match against Sami Zayn. Owens guests on commentary.

Aiden English beats Sami Zayn. During the match, Kevin Owens gets in the ring, removes the referee's shirt and wears it himself. Sami Zayn, not happy about this turn of events, argues with Owens only to be blindsided by English. Owens then hits Sami Zayn with a pop-up powerbomb, and Aiden English gets the win after a fast count by Owens.

He says that if the fans want all flash and no substance, that's what they will get next week.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) after a grabbing of Kofi Kingston's tights. As per pre-match stipulation, The Usos gets to pick the stipulation for the rematch for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

As they argue over Ellsworth spoiling Carmella's cash-in plans as well as Ellsworth stealing flowers from a funeral in an attempt to make up for it, Natalya shows up and tells Carmella that she should be glad Ellsworth spoiled her plans, because if she tries to cash in on her, she will make her "the Baron Corbin of the Women's Division." After Natalya tells Carmella she will punish her further in a match next week, Carmella tells Natalya that she made a big mistake and to keep the title shined up for her. After she and Ellsworth leave, Naomi shows up and says that Natalya is on edge for a champion. She tells Natalya that she had better get a cat nap, because in two weeks, they will have their rematch for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship.

Lana introduces Tamina to the ring before the next match.

Tamina beats Tina Stock. After the match, two paparazzi get in the ring and take pictures as Lana raises Tamina's hand.

It's time for Fashion Files. Breezango are packing up the office when they see their new tech: wireless headphones, a black light, a leather belt and friendship bracelets. We also see that their new shirts glow in the dark, and so so do their boxes, which have glow in the dark arrows on them. The "Two B" sign on the "Two B" board - pinned with pictures of people with both first and last names starting with B, such as Brie Bella, Beau Beverly, Barbara Bush and Buff Bagwell to name a few) has the statement "or not Two B" on it in glow-in-the-dark ink. They come to the conclusion that Aiden English was the one who trashed their office and attacked them.

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for May 9, 2017

Randy Orton shows up to start tonight show. At Payback, he lost not because of Bray Wyatt or a refrigerator, but because of Jinder Mahal. After he says he plans to get payback against Jinder Mahal, Mahal shows up with the Singh Brothers and shows off the promo pictures of himself with the WWE Championship. At Backlash, he will take the WWE Championship and take it back to his people, and that he will no longer be disrespected for a new age - the age of the Maharaja - will begin. He then speaks to the fans in Punjabi, but before he can even do that, Kevin Owens shows up. Owens says nobody cares about the House of Horrors, India or even England, as the only thing people should care about is himself. Last week, he did not just regain the United States title, he ended Chris Jericho's career. He then says he will end the career of AJ Styles at Backlash, and become not only United States Champion and the new face of America, but the face of WWE, as the WWE Championship is next on his list. He repeats that last statement in French, then Styles shows up. Styles says this is the house that AJ Styles built, and tells Kevin Owens that while he may be the face of America - which he should enjoy while he still can - he will never be the face of SmackDown Live. Dolph Ziggler shows up, and tells the fans that they are all hypocrites as for eight long years, he has come out to the ring to do what he does and has won titles and made movies, but nobody appreciates him. He also calls the fan hypocrites for cheering for someone who calls himself "The Artist" and has never had a match on SmackDown Live, and says he suffers for his art as he has had to do everything himself and never needed the fans, who he says do not care. He says the fans will care now before he calls out "The King of Strong Style" Shinsuke Nakamura, who shows up. Ziggler says it's been almost a month, and if he is going to stand toe-to-toe in the ring with him, it's time for him to either put up or shut up. Nakamura takes the microphone and tells him to shut up, and that if he wants to see what he can do, he will show him now. Ziggler then decides now is not the time and that they will do it when he says so, and that he will expose him for the fraud that he is at Backlash. Ziggler then tosses his jacket at him and goes for a cheap shot, but Nakamura fights back. Ziggler teases getting back in the ring, but then decides against it.
