Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 10, 2018

Renee Young is officially on commentary for Raw, replacing Jonathan Coachman - who will now be the host of the pay-per-view kickoffs on WWE Network - full-time.

Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up with the rest of the heels from the Raw locker room to start tonight's show. As the rest of the heels surround the ring, Strowman brags about how he, Ziggler and McIntyre beat The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) down and feasted on their bloody carcasses. McIntyre then shows a video package of everything leading up to the events from last week. Strowman says the only reason Roman Reigns has the WWE Universal Championship is because he is a coward who cannot handle business on his own. He tells Roman he has his "hounds of justice," but he has his "dogs of war." He says that The Shield, who has been running roughshod, has found out the hard way their strength in numbers is nothing compared to his pack. Ziggler thanks the heels for standing up to The Shield, for themselves and for "what is right." McIntyre asks the fans if they have felt the balance of power shift, as they are now in control and running wild. He says that tonight, they will continue the carnage and set an example by dismantling The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) in their tag title rematch. Strowman says this will be nothing compared to when Roman Reigns gets these hands at Hell In A Cell. Suddenly, The Shield shows up in the crowd. They make their way down to the ring and brawl with everyone at ringside, and Ambrose shows up with a duffel bag with ax handles inside. They make short work of everyone at ringside, including Jinder Mahal. McIntyre, Strowman and Ziggler retreat.

We see footage from earlier today where The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) find their dressing room vandalized by The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan, Sarah Logan).

Backstage, local law enforcement confronts The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns). Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up, and asks them to leave the premises or else they will lose their championships and they will all be locked up for a long time. They drop their ax handles and leave.

Nikki Bella beats Ruby Riott as Brie Bella stops Liv Morgan from getting physically involved in the match.

Big Show is on stage with some children as part of National Pediatric Cancer Month. After a video package for Connor's Cure, Big Show asks for a round of applause for the Superstars of tomorrow, and says that unlike the WWE Superstars who fight to win every life, these children fight for something far greater. He then introduces all of the children on stage.

We see a video package chronicling the meeting between "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker from last week.

Backstage, 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick tells The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) they will not be ignored or overlooked, as everyone will remember the pain that they cause.

The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) beat Ronnie Ace and Nathan Bradley.

We see a video package chronicling the events leading up to Jeff Hardy vs. Randy Orton being made for Hell In A Cell (despite this all happening on SmackDown Live).

As local law enforcement watches who comes in and out, WWE COO Triple H comes out of a limousine on his way to address the fans.

WWE COO Triple H shows up. Triple H says that he said that the aura was back after SummerSlam and that he and The Undertaker would face each other one more time. He says that the WWE legends picked The Undertaker over him to win across the board, at 81% compared to Triple H's 19% in a recent poll with the legends. He then says that when "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels picked him to win, it bothered The Undertaker so much that he actually showed up angry and agitated, accusing Shawn of bitterness and baiting him with threats. Triple H says that re-watching this made him mad, as he felt that The Undertaker lost respect for both him and Shawn. However, this was not the case at all; instead, he had lost respect for himself. Triple H goes on to call those four matches The Undertaker's last moments of greatness, and that he has blamed him and Shawn for his demise. He says that The Undertaker has taken this from business to personal, and that he will put him down at Super Show-Down.

Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre retains the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against The B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) after McIntyre distracts the referee so that Ziggler can eye rake Bo Dallas. After the match, Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins show up from out of the crowd and attack Ziggler and McIntyre, forcing them to retreat.

We see footage from Mankind vs. The Undertaker in their Hell In A Cell Match from King of the Ring 1998, which took place twenty years ago this month.

Backstage, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin chews out Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose and threatens to have them arrested again, and Rollins calls Corbin out on his hypocrisy and bogus charges. Rollins also tells Corbin that filing a false police report is a crime, and calls for a sheriff to arrest Corbin. Corbin asks Rollins to talk about this in private, and the sheriff and Ambrose leave. Ambrose talks with the sheriff for a while, then Rollins shows up and says he and Ambrose won't be pressing charges against Corbin...for now. The name on the sheriff's nametag is "Ambrose, G."

Kevin Owens vs. Tyler Breeze ends before it can begin with Owens mercilessly attacking Breeze and powerbombing him into the ring apron. Owens says that two weeks ago, he walked away from Raw and it felt great. Immediately after, however, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin asked him to reconsider and come back, because he recognized his value as "the true MVP of Monday Night Raw." He agreed to come back on one strict condition: that he is not held responsible for what he does to his opponents, as his job is to do whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He says he was doing his job when he annihilated Breeze as well as fought against The Shield. He says this is his job and there is nothing anybody can do about, and Bobby Lashley is to blame. He says that Lashley is the reason that Sami Zayn has been on the shelf instead of by his side, and that he quit because of Bobby Lashley. However, he is also back because of Lashley, and what he did to him last week is only the beginning. He tells everyone to get it right, and reminds everyone that this is "The Kevin Owens Show." He says everyone can expect anarchy, agony and destruction from here on out, and says it is all Lashley's fault.

We see a video packaging chronicling the events leading to "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe in a Hell In A Cell Match for the WWE Championship at Hell In A Cell (despite this all, again, happening on SmackDown Live).

WWE Warrior Award recipient Jarrius "JJ" Robertson is seen in the front row.

Bobby Roode and Chad Gable beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

Nikki Bella is nominated for Reality TV Star of 2018, Nia Jax is nominated for Gamechanger of 2018, and Monday Night Raw is nominated for The Show of 2018 in this year's E! People's Choice Awards. Voting on pca.eonline.com ends this Friday.

In the locker room, Dolph Ziggler is talking with Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman. Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up and announces that Ziggler and McIntyre are defending the Raw tag titles against Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins at Hell In A Cell. Corbin says he needs huge matches for Hell In A Cell, and tells Strowman that Commissioner Stephanie McMahon wants him to take the WWE Universal Championship at the event. Strowman says that right now, he is going "big dog huntin'."

Natalya and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey beat Alexa Bliss and Mickie James with an armbar to Mickie James. Rousey's ribs are hurt during the match. After the match, Bliss hits Ronda with a cheap shot, then runs away.

We see a video packaging chronicling Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair for the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship at Hell In A Cell (despite the feud being on SmackDown Live).

Backstage, Elias asks for tea, and spits it out when it is not chamomile. Suddenly, Braun Strowman starts yelling, demanding to know where Roman Reigns is as he attacks a backstage worker.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Natalya and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. Rousey says she is fine, and even if she is hurt, she will not pull out of Hell In A Cell because she is still the best even on her worst day.

Elias is in the ring. Elias says he has perfected blues as well as rock 'n roll, then proceeds to play on his guitar. After asking everyone who wants to walk with him, he says that something feels off tonight, then asks if the New Orleans Saints lost yesterday before saying that Tom Brees is done with representing the city. Elias then proceeds to play guitar again when Mick Foley shows up. Foley says he is a big fan of Elias, and says that Elias has a big, resonant voice as a vocalist and that he admires his guitar playing, but says that he does not have a sincere bone in his body as a lyricist. Elias says he knows Foley is here to talk about the 20th anniversary of his Hell In A Cell Match against The Undertaker, and says that he personally saw the match when it happened. Elias says that he would be lying if he were to say that this match was not a special moment, but that was then and this is now, and says that Foley is a broken man who is singing the same sad song he has sung for the last 20 years and barely remembers the words to. Foley says that is him in a nutshell, but he is here to address the future, not the past. Elias tells him he is talking to the future, and while Foley admits Elias is the future, he is talking about six night from tonight. He says that he has asked Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon for a proposition, asking for a role in Hell In A Cell, saying that he felt electricity that night 20 years ago and wants to feel that way again. It was after that match that he met Stephanie for the first time, and asked her not to shut him out and let him be part of the action. He then announces that he will be special guest referee for Braun Strowman vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Hell In A Cell. As Foley leaves, Elias tells Foley that this was special, then tells him to take a piece of advice: shut his mouth and head to the back. Foley gets back into the ring and tells him that before he left the office, Stephanie allowed him to make a match tonight. Foley then puts Elias in a match against Finn Balor.

Backstage, Braun Strowman is still looking for Roman Reigns, leaving a path of destruction in his wake.

Finn Balor beats Elias with an inside cradle to counter Drift Away.

We see footage from earlier today where Lio Rush is in the gym with Bobby Lashley, putting Lashley on a pedestal as he tries to become his manager.

Braun Strowman asks Charly Caruso where Roman Reigns is. Charly says Roman has left the building, and says that if Braun heads to the ring, Roman might find him.

One week from tomorrow on Mixed Match Challenge: Jimmy Uso and Naomi vs. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair!

Next week: The Undertaker returns!

Braun Strowman shows up. Strowman says he is sick of waiting, and dares Roman Reigns to face him in the ring like a man. When Roman does not show up, Strowman says that Roman is a coward, and that there is nowhere for him to run in Hell In A Cell when he is locked in with him and nobody can help him. He also says that if special guest referee Mick Foley get in his way, he will make his match against The Undertaker 20 years ago look like a paper cut. He then says that he will take Roman Reigns to Hell in Hell In A Cell and that he will never come back. Roman Reigns' music then hits, and Braun sees Roman on the commentary table. Both men brawl on the stage, and Braun seems to get the upper hand early on. Strowman then proceeds to break down the announce table and tries to powerbomb Roman, but Roman counters it into a Samoan Drop and puts Strowman through a panel in the stage. Roman then gets back on his feet, picks up the WWE Universal Championship and slowly walks up to where Strowman is before lifting the title up in the air.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
