Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 20, 2018

oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) beat Laredo Kid, Aerostar and El Hijo del Vikingo.

Backstage, Rich Swann is met by "Reborn" Matt Sydal, who says he believes in him more than anyone else in the locker room or the business and wants to see him in the spotlight. He knows that Swann wants to face him in the ring, but he proposes they become a tag team against The Lucha Bros. (Fenix and Pentagon Jr.) and asks him to open his third eye. Swann admits that is a pretty good opportunity and match, but tells him not to screw things up. Sydal asks Swann to follow him, but Swann tells him to keep up.

Backstage, Sexy Star is met by Tessa Blanchard, who throws her suitcase at her and tells her to get out. All of a sudden, Tessa is confronted by Faby Apache, who tells Tessa that she will she will teach her respect and that she is not going to dishonor anyone. This causes Tessa Blanchard to promptly leave the locker room.

Eli Drake shows up. He says he seen trash walk in week after week only to be kicked in the keister, and now he is rolling into Mexico City, Mexico for a real challenge. Unfortunately, he has failed to find anyone interesting enough in the back, but the gravy train is ready to roll and he cannot stop it or the undeniable kevorka. He then issues an open challenge to anyone who wants to get their ticket punched on the gravy train, and the open challenge is answered by Trevor Lee, who shows up grabbing a referee and tossing him into the ring.

Eli Drake beats Trevor Lee.

In footage from earlier today, King and Hernandez are playing a dice game when Homicide shows up, saying he does not like it where they are at in Mexico City, Mexico. King tells Homicide and Hernandez that they have to get The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz) to break the ceasefire, stating they are weak and The OG'z (King, Hernandez and Homicide). He gives Homicide and Hernandez the night off, and he plans to show LAX what happens when he gets in the ring and brings "straight violence."

King beats Cronus after Homicide and Hernandez beat Cronus up before the bell rings and force the referee to start the match afterwards. After the match, King calls out The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz), telling Konnan that this is his night and to forget about the ceasefire. When Konnan fails to show up, King calls LAX a bunch of cowards.

Backstage in The Latin-American Xchange (Konnan, Santana, Ortiz)'s locker room, Santana says he is tired of The OG'z (King, Homicide, Hernandez) trying to ruin their name, as is Ortiz. Konnan says he seen and been through it all, and that he will not break the ceasefire on the grounds that they will "disappear" after falling into a trap set by The OG'z. He tells Santana and Ortiz to break the ceasefire if they want, but he will wait until Bound or Glory to "kick King's uterus into the next millennium" in a Concrete Jungle Match. By doing this, he fires Santana and Ortiz up, and the ceasefire continues to be honored on LAX's end.

Faby Apache beats Alisha Edwards. After the match, Faby Apache says she has represented women's wrestling around the world, and she wants to face Tessa Blanchard due to Tessa's sense of entitlement and thinking she is "all that."

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews El Texano, who welcomes Austin Aries to Mexico City, Mexico. He knows that Austin Aries has two partners in Killer Kross and Moose, but he has two partners in his fist and his bullrope, and he will find that out as he rides off into the sunset as Impact Wrestling World Champion.

Backstage, "The Smoke Show" Scarlet Bordeaux announces that she has a huge announcement for next week.

The Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) beat Rich Swann and "Reborn" Matt Sydal. After the amtch, oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) show up and surround the ring, but "The Machine" Brian Cage runs out and evens the numbers game, causing oVe to retreat.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Austin Aries, who says he is taking on El Texano tonight because nobody is left after he, Killer Kross and Moose took out Eddie Edwards, Fallah Bahh and Johnny Mundo and Impact had to dig deep within the well. He says he is World Champion for a reason, and while El Texano is no joke, the World title is staying on his shoulders as he is the best in the world at what he does. Austin Aries and Killer Kross leaves while Moose, who is dressed in tie dye, takes a very awkward selfie with Mackenzie.

The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) are getting massages backstage as they talk about their non-title match next week against The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz). Gama Singh shows up with a broom and hits them for getting massages before chewing them out and having them exercise and hit each other. After this, Gama Singh wishes the both of them good luck.

We see a music video by Joe Hendry, where he says that he is putting his friendship with Grado over his platonic relationship with Katarina.

The GWN Flashback Moment of the Week is the Ultimate X Match from Bound For Glory 2005 between Petey Williams, Chris Sabin and Matt Bentley.

We see a video package chronicling the events between Allie, Su Yung and Tessa Blanchard.

Next week: Faby Apache vs. Tessa Blanchard for the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship! "The Machine" Brian Cage vs. Jake Crist! Su Yung and The Undead Maid of Honor vs. Allie and Kiera Hogan!

Abyss is the newest inductee into the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame.

Austin Aries retains the Impact Wrestling World Championship against El Texano. During the match, it is made official that King vs. Konnan at Bound For Glory will be a Concrete Jungle Death Match. After the match, Johnny Impact shows up on the video screen, saying there is no line that Austin Aries will not cross to keep the Impact World title, and mentions how Aries, Moose and Killer Kross wrapped a steel chair around his neck, held him against the ring post and tried to shatter his spine. He says he might not be medically cleared before Bound For Glory, but sooner or later, his neck will heal, and Aries might see him a little sooner than he thinks. Aries says that he knows Johnny Impact is not on location and that he is somewhere in the crowd. As he sends Killer Kross and Moose into the crowd to look for Johnny Impact, Johnny comes out from backstage and fights Aries, Moose and Kross. As Aries, Moose and Kross retreat, they are suddenly swatted at with a kendo stick by Eddie Edwards, who shows up from out of nowhere to get a modicum of revenge.
