Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 27, 2018

Tessa Blanchard retains the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship against Faby Apache. After the match, Blanchard says she is the Knockouts Champion, and she has run through the entire Knockouts locker room. Now, she has defeated the best in Mexico, which makes her the best wrestler and athlete in professional wrestler. She says she is undeniable, and she is the one and only diamond of the Knockouts division. Suddenly, Taya Valkyrie shows up on the video screen, saying she has heard Tessa Blanchard boast and be disrespectful for months, and says Blanchard can't claim to be the best until she beats her in a match at Bound For Glory for the Knockouts Championship. She then tells Blanchard the ball is in her court, and even though everyone thinks Blanchard is "a bitch," she respects her, and while Blanchard is one of the best, so is she, and she awaits Blanchard's answer to her challenge.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards talks about tonight's match with Alisha Edwards, and Alisha chews him out for his actions last week and thinking his kendo stick is a person. She does, however, give Edwards for having Johnny Impact in his corner tonight. Johnny shows up and says that "three douchebags is a lot of douchebags for one guy to handle." He says that he and Eddie have Killer Kross and Moose in a tag team match tonight, and wherever they are, Austin Aries will not be far behind. He proposes that they work together as they both want their respective targets, and asks him to bring the kendo stick. Alisha asks Eddie to listen to Johnny tonight.

We see footage from earlier today from oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan). Sami Callihan says "You're welcome" as far as Bound For Glory being sold out is concerned. As for tonight, one of the Crist brothers is getting a big opportunity, and he gives it to Jake to give him a chance in the spotlight against "The Machine" Brian Cage to go from "the mini-draw" to "the medium draw." Sami says that tonight, they know how to beat "The Machine" Brian Cage and that Jake Crist is going to hand Cage his first loss in Impact Wrestling. Jake is reluctant at first, but Sami Callihan soon fires him up.

We see footage of Eli Drake in Mexico City, Mexico taking in the sights and tastes of the city on the way to the arena to challenge any takers.

"The Machine" Brian Cage beats Jake Crist. After the match, Sami Callihan attacks Cage from behind and stomps Cage in the groin before the lights go out. When they come back on, Dave Crist is suddenly gone. The video screen then shows The Lucha Bros. (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix), who are holding Dave Crist hostage and hitting him with 2x4s before superkicking him. Sami Callihan is enraged, and he and Jake Crist turn around to a double clothesline by Brian Cage, who is now back up, followed by a tope con hilo.

Backstage, Mackenzie Mitchell interviews Austin Aries, Moose and Killer Kross. Aries gives Mackenzie credit for lasting one week longer than El Texano, whom he says came up short. He says that he is World champion because he takes care of business, and now he feels very bad for some unlucky souls as Moose and Killer Kross are going to take care of business their way: total destruction. Moose says he told himself that he would not lose his composure tonight, but Eddie Edwards is getting to him just a little bit. He says that he and Kross are dangerous, not Eddie, and tells Eddie to bring his kendo stick as he finds out why he is still a legend. Killer Kross says he knows what Johny Impact is doing as he positions himself in all sorts of wrestling promotions, saying that he corrupts everything he touches like a virus. He says that the three of them have plans for Impact Wrestling, and that Johnny's future is very bleak. Tonight, he plans to make Johnny Impact "Johnny Neckbrace."

The GWN Flashback of the Week is The Latin-American Xchange (Homicide and Hernandez) vs. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels for the NWA World Tag Team Championships at Bound For Glory 2006.

Backstage, Joe Hendry and Grado are talking about Hendry's new video when Katarina shows up and tries to suck up to Grado and Joe Hendry. Katarina says she got her wires crossed and that everything is a misunderstanding, and says she has a gift for her: Mexican wrestler Murder Crown. Next week, Joe Hendry will face Murder Clown in a match.

Rolando Martinez is outside of the arena with "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux's big announcement. Scarlett brags about what she has done in her short time in the company, then announcing she is initiating a global talent search where one lucky man or woman gets her full attention 24/7...and the talent search begins now.

The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) beat The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh). After the match, The OG'z (King, Homicide, Hernandez) are on the video screen last week, sarcastically thanking LAX for their victory before telling them that he won last week after showing what he will do to LAX at Bound For Glory. King makes a reference to Konnan's past as a masked luchador before producing the mask that Konnan lost in Mexico City and saying it was the beginning of Konnan's end, which he says led to Konnan leeching off other people. He tells Santana and Ortiz that they don't need Konnan, as he, Homicide and Hernandez has realized they don't need Konnan either after Konnan leeched off them just like he is leeching off Santana and Ortiz. He then says that while losing the mask was the beginning of Konnan's end, but at Bound For Glory, he will end Konnan. Konnan's old mask is then burned on a steel can.

Backstage, Fallah Bahh is with an injured KM as he sings a lullaby. KM wakes up and thanks him for taking care of him, but tells him to revenge not just for him, but for the two of them.

Backstage, Tessa Blanchard says Taya Valkyrie thinks she is tough for appearing on a video screen, and says that Taya disappeared by the time she showed up. Blanchard says that Taya is picking her moment, and asks what better moment there would be than Bound For Glory. She tells Taya that if she wants this match, she's got it, but the moment will be a disappointment. She also says that if Taya wants to call her a bitch, then she will show her one at Bound For Glory.

Allie and Kiera Hogan beat Su Yung and The Undead Maid of Honor.

Outside in Mexico City, Mexico, "Reborn" Matt Sydal is meditating with his third eye open when Rich Swann walks up to him, touches the third eye and tells Sydal to open up his real ones. He tells Sydal he is sick and tired of the games and ready to whup that ass. He then tells Sydal to be ready next week.

Next week: "Reborn" Matt Sydal vs. Rich Swann! Eli Drake's open challenge! Murder Clwon vs. Joe Hendry! Su Yung vs. Kiera Hogan!

Killer Kross and Moose beat Johnny Impact and Eddie Edwards. During the match, Austin Aries tries to get involved by using the Impact Wrestling World Championship as a weapon, but gets taken out by Johnny Impact. Eddie hits Killer Kross with a kendo stick as the referee puts the World title away, but Moose hits the Spear on Eddie Edwards for the win.

Here are the top five moments from tonight's show!
