Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 3, 2018

Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up to start tonight's show. Strowman shows the footage from last week's main event where he turned on Roman Reigns. Afterwards, Strowman calls this "justice," and says he tried to look him in the eyes when he cashed in his Money In The Back contract. All Roman Reigns had to do was take his beating, but The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) re-united. He says that without The Shield, the WWE Universal Championship would be his, and with The Shield, it never would be. As a result, he allied himself with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, saying he has a pack of his own and that he will show him that this is his yard. At Hell In A Cell, he will dismember Roman Reigns, breaking his spirit as well as his body before taking what is rightfully his: the Universal Championship. McIntyre tells the fans to take a moment to look at the three of them, as The Shield has had their time and it is over. McIntyre proclaims the three of them are the new kings of the jungle and that they will feed on The Shield's carcasses. Ziggler says they will become the most dominant force in WWE - even more dominant than The Nation of Domination, D-Generation X and The Shield - and leave everyone laying embarrassed and devastated. He reminds The Shield that they started it, and that they will end it. As Ziggler says that they will tear The Shield limb from limb, The Shield shows up from inside the crowd. Acting General Manager Baron Corbin shows up on the stage and sends the rest of the Raw locker room out to stop The Shield, but The Shield makes quick work of them and surround the ring. More Superstars show up to head them off, but they fare no better, and a six-man brawl quickly starts in the ring. More wrestlers get in the ring, and everyone manages to separate both teams. Strowman, Ziggler and McIntyre make their way to the back, but The Shield quickly breaks through everyone else and chases after them.

Backstage, The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) is arrested by local law enforcement and placed in the back of a police van.

Backstage, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin tells Commissioner Stephanie McMahon that everything is okay. Suddenly, he is met by Finn Balor. Finn Balor asks for a rematch against him tonight, and confronts him for changing the rules mid-match in their match last week. He tells Corbin to act like a man, and to do it right. Corbin tells him he's got his rematch in two hours in the main event.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Chad Gable and Bobby Roode. Gable says he keeps a close eye on everything, and he is impressed by how Roode carries himself in the spotlight. He wants in on that, and he is a great tag team wrestler. Roode loves the idea of the two of them being a tag team, and they both head to the ring.

Before the next match, Konnor calls Bobby Roode a flash in the pan before insulting Chad Gable.

Chad Gable and Bobby Roode beat The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor).

Backstage, Elias advertises his own album to a backstage worker...and he's up next.

He then says that he strongly dislikes women who hit men, and that is what Trish Stratus did to him last week. He says that Trish embarrassed herself by doing that. He then asks what a buckeye is, saying it is the least intimidating mascot he has ever heard of. Before he can sing that song, however, Alexa Bliss shows up with Mickie James and Alicia Fox. Alexa says that Columbus is her birthplace and that she graduated from high school in this arena, then leads an Ohio State Buckeye chant before calling the fans "mindless Ohio imbeciles" who are reacting like the sheep they are. She then says everything Elias said about her hometown is "100% true," and says she could not get out of the town quickly enough. She says that some of the people are zombies, and even recognizes a few in the crowd. Alexa then tells Elias he is in the ring with the biggest star to ever come out of Columbus, then apologizes for Trish Stratus slapping him last week, stating that Trish sent a wrong message with her actions. After talking about her matches at Evolution and Hell In A Cell as well as her match with Natalya tonight, she then asks Elias to perform the song he was about to play, as she wants to walk with Elias. Suddenly, Natalya and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey show up for the next match.

It is announced that The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) have been processed and fingerprinted at a local precinct.

Alexa Bliss beats Natalya with an armbar in an attempt to send a message to "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey. When Ronda checks on Natalya after the match, Alexa Bliss tries to go for a cheap shot only to get punched in the kidney, and Alicia Fox falls victim to a judo throw. Alexa then hits Ronda with a chop block, then gets her back in the ring only to get knocked out of the ring.

Backstage, Acting General Manager Baron Corbin demands that a backstage worker get his Rolex cleaned when Braun Strowman, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up. Strowman demands they get some competition tonight, and Ziggler tells Corbin this is their show now. He wants a match for the tag team titles, but there is already one for tonight. McIntyre and Ziggler ask Corbin what would happen if The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) weren't good to go, and Corbin says he would have to make some other arrangements. Strowman tells Corbin to do his job and find him some competition.

The Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar) quickly beat Keith Thompson and Jimmy James.

Backstage, Natalya and "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey talk backstage when The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) shows up. Natalya says she doesn't feel like herself and walks out. Meanwhile, The Bella Twins tell "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey that she is unlike any Women's Champion they've ever seen, and not to hesitate if she needs any advice from them.

"The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels shows up. After advertising his new T-shirt, the WWE Network and Super Show-Down, Shawn Michaels announces that he will be at Super Show-Down personally for Triple H and The Undertaker in their final-ever match. He says that he would understand WWE Legends' predictions of The Undertaker winning had his WrestleMania streak still stayed intact, and says that he and "Stone Cold" Steve Austin both agree that Triple H will be the man to win. Shawn admits that he and Triple H have been friends for over 20 years, but says it is professional when he tells The Undertaker that Triple H is still The Game and The Cerebral Assassin, and that Triple H has "more in the tank" than The Undertaker. Shawn then says that Triple H will cerebrally assassinate The Undertaker at Super Show-Down. Suddenly, a gong sounds, and The Undertaker's presence is immediately felt. The Undertaker shows up and tells Shawn Michaels this just became personal, and mentions the friendship between Shawn and Triple H, saying that in those 20 years, he took the best Shawn and Triple H had and put them both down. He then says that in the end, he took Shawn's soul, and he could not accept it. He then chose Triple H after taking away what mattered to Shawn most: Shawn's career. Shawn tells The Undertaker he is a man of his word, and that somebody had to restore faith in the system and stand committed to the words he spoke. He says that he has stayed true to his retirement because he is a man of his word and a man of honor and integrity. Shawn says he has stayed retired out of respect for the system, the fans and The Undertaker himself. The fans soon chant "One more match!", which Shawn acknowledges and states that he hears every time he shows up in an arena. He says that it is all about respect. and that he has turned down dream matches and millions upon millions of dollars out of respect for The Undertaker. Nevertheless, the fans chant "One more match!" The Undertaker then asks if it is respect or fear that really keeps Shawn out of the ring. He says that if Shawn ever came out of respect, there would be only person he would come for: him. If that were to happen, he would put him down all over again, and both they and the fans know it. The Undertaker then promises that he will put Triple H down again at Super Show-Down, then leaves.

It is announced that The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) have been jailed and charged with disorderly conduct after what happened at the start of the show.

Backstage, Finn Balor is met by Acting General Manager Baron Corbin, who tells him that the rematch won't be happening tonight. Balor still has a match, but not against him. Instead, it is against Braun Strowman.

Sasha Banks and Bayley beat Dana Brooke and Ember Moon after Sasha Banks rolls up Dana Brooke. After the match, Dana tells Titus O'Neil and Apollo Crews she is done with Titus Worldwide.

Lashley says he looks forward to finding his inner peace with Jinder tonight.

Jinder Mahal and Sunil Singh show up. Lashley shows up for the in-ring meditation session after the commercial break. Jinder welcomes Lashley to the meditation session, and says that he senses a great deal of anger within him. He wants to help him channel that anger and attain inner peace, and invites him to sit on the meditation carpet. Jinder Mahal tires to get him to repeat after him that he is like water, and to chant "Shanti" and breahe in through his nose, but Bobby Lashley just isn't buying it. Suddenly, Lashley is attacked from behind by Kevin Owens, despite Owens quitting last week. Lashley fights back, and Jinder becomes involved. Lashley fends him off only to get superkicked by Owens, who continues to stalk Lashley and hit him with a pop-up powerbomb into the ring apron.

It is announced that The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) have officially bailed out of jail.

Braun Strowman beats Finn Balor. After the match, Drew McIntyre picks Finn Balor back up so that Strowman can powerslam Finn Balor again. Afterwards, Finn Balor is tossed out of the ring, and McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler pull out some steel steps so that they can drive Finn Balor into them with a three-man powerbomb. Before they can do it, a siren is heard. The police van then backs up near the stage, and out come The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns). Roman Reigns gets out of the driver's seat, while Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins come out from the back. Before they can do anything, the bad guys of the Raw locker room attacks The Shield from behind. Strowman nails Roman with the steel steps, while Rollins gets smacked right into the police van windshield, smashing. Meanwhile, Ambrose gets laid out on the announce table. The Shield are then piled next to each other, then Ziggler, McIntyre and Strowman celebrate in the ring as the rest of the bad guys stand over The Shield.
