Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 6, 2018

"Reborn" Matt Sydal guests on commentary for the next match.

"The Canadian Destroyer" Petey Williams beats Rich Swann after "Reborn" Matt Sydal distracts Rich Swann to the point that Swann misses on the Phoenix Splash.

We see footage from earlier today of Austin Aries, Killer Kross and Moose entering the arena.

Backstage, Rich Swann is met by "Reborn" Matt Sydal, but Rich Swann tells Sydal to stay away from him.

Joe Hendry makes fun of The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) on the way to the ring with a music video that also mentions his platonic relationship with Katarina.

The Desi Hit Squad (Rohit Raju and Gursinder Singh) beat Joe Hendry and Grado. After the match, Katarina chews Grado for being an embarrassment who keeps losing week after week, and tells him she does not love him; instead, she is in love with Joe Hendry. After saying that Joe loves her and kisses him, Joe Hendry is surprised at Katarina's actions and calls Katarina the embarrassment in this situation. Katarina slaps Joe in the face and leaves.

Backstage, Joe Hendry and Grado are still amazed by Katarina's actions, and Joe says he should have seen this coming. Grado tells Joe that he knows he can trust him now after this.

The GWN Flashback of the Week is Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a Full Metal Mayhem Match at Lockdown 2013.

We see a video package chronicling Su Yung's reign of terror in Impact Wrestling as undead bridesmaids surround Su Yung, who has a casket ready for Tessa Blanchard.

Backstage, Bobo praises "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux when KM and Fallah Bahh show up. KM thanks her for the advice from a few weeks ago. Scarlett tells them that she loves a man with power who takes what he wants and has confidence, and says she would do anything for a man like that as it is "simply intoxicating." KM tells Fallah Bahh there might be something to that after Scarlett leaves with Bobo.

Eli Drake shows up. He says he has had fun coming to the ring the last couple of week, as they have been dummies who have been trying to impress him and have failed to do so. He then says he feels a bit adventurous tonight, and calls out anybody who wants to face a former world champion. He gets Stone Rockwell, and after some introductions, Eli Drake tells Rockwell not to fall victim to his own ambitions. When Eli asks Rockwell what his last adventure was, Rockwell talks about a train ride to Budapest, then Eli Drake brings out a referee to start a match. It doesn't take long for Eli Drake to beat Stone Rockwell with a single Gravy Train.

We hear from The Lucha Brothers (Fenix and Pentagon Jr.). Fenix says they have been fighting together since they were kids, and Pentagon Jr. sends a message to "The Machine" Brian Cage: if he wants ot know how to inflict pain, they has to team with them. He says that they can beat oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) on their own and that they are not obstacles for them.

Backstage, Austin Aries, Moose and Killer Kross are met by Alicia, who is told that she will find out why Moose did what he did last week at the same time as everyone else. All of a sudden, Alisha Edwards shows up and confronts Moose, and Austin Aries tells her to separate the business from the personal as he, Moose and Kross leave.

Tessa Blanchard retains the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Championship against Su Yung. After the match, the undead bridesmaids show up with a casket, lay it down and open it up. As they leave, Su Yung attacks attacks Blanchard from behind and hits her with the Panic Switch. She then places Su Yung in the coffin, but Allie and Kiera Hogan show up and double-team Su Yung, making the save for Tessa Blanchard, who is less than thankful for their help as she says that she does not need friends.

We hear from "The Machine" Brian Cage, who says he saved The Lucha Brothers (Fenix and Pentagon Jr.) because he could, and the lat time he checked, he is the X Division Champion and the measuring stick around here. He says that if oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) thinks they can do whatever they want, they have another thing coming as there is nobody bigger than him.

Konnan and King meet in a restaurant, where some older gentlemen are sitting at a table. The man in the center says that this get-together has been set-up because the violence that has been happening in public as of late has been unbearable and they cannot afford this kind of heat. He says that business has been good, and the violation of the G Code is brought up. Konnan chews out King for running Richie over, and King complains about being kept down and crucified for doing the same thing everyone else in the gang is doing, saying he did what he had to be done. The three men at the table converse among themselves, then decree that a cease-fire will continue until October 14th at Bound For Glory in New York City. There, they will battle over who is king of the street there, as The Latin-American Xchange (Santana, Ortiz, Konnan) and The OG'z (Hernandez, Homicide, King) will square off in a final war. Konnan tells King he should have finished him off along time ago, but he let his emotions trick his logic into think it was the right thing to do, and on October 14th, he will not miss. Konnan extends his hand, but King laughs and walks away.

Next week: Kongo Kong vs. "The Machine" Brian Cage! The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) in action! The Lucha Brothers (Fenix and Pentagon Jr.) vs. The Cult of Lee (Trevor Lee and Caleb Konley)!

oVe (Jake Crist, Dave Crist, Sami Callihan) beat Zachary Wentz, Ace Austin and Tre Miguel. After the match, Callihan hits Ace Austin with a piledriver, then says that oVe is the best trio walking the planet today without a shadow of a doubt. As for The Lucha Brothers (Fenix and Pentagon Jr.), their feud will never end and they will do this forever. He proposes making this interesting, and tells "The Machine" Brian Cage that if he wants to stick his nose in their business, then they will never, ever forget.

Austin Aries, Killer Kross and Moose show up. Aries says everyone wants to konw why Moose did what he did last week and standing with him and Killer Kross, and decides to let Moose explain everything. Moose says Eddie Edwards has everyone fooled, calling him a selfish, lying fraud and threatening to expose him. He says that when Eddie Edwards was going though with his issues with his wife Alisha, laid in the hospital with his face broken from Sami Callihan and had issues with Tommy Dreamer, he was there for him, but when he was laying in the hospital contemplating retirement, Eddie was nowhere to be found. He says the only person who checked on him was Killer Kross, who asked him how it felt to be abandoned. After that, he got a phone call from Austin Aries, not Eddie Edwards, who admitted that Moose is talented but would never be the #1 guy in the company or the industry if he catered to the fans. He thanks Aries for being the truth as well as the greatest man that ever lived. Aries thanks Moose for listening to reason, as Eddie Edwards only cared about getting shots at the World Championship instead of Moose, who now has the mastermind of professional wrestling as well as the baddest man walking the streets guiding him. Aries says everything has changed in Impact Wrestling, and nobody is safe and nobody is taking the Impact Wrestling World Championship away from him. Suddenly, Johnny Impact shows up, and Aries calls Johnny a nobody before Johnny says Killer Kross would be more ambitious than to play Austin Aries' bodyguard. Johnny also says he forgot to mention that at Bound For Glory, Austin will be defending the World title against him. Aries says they don't have to wait until Bound For Glory, and asks Moose and Killer Kross to clear the ring so they can go at it right now. Johnny tells Aries he's seen this before and knows that Killer Kross and Moose will jump him along with Aries. Johnny then advertises Boone: The Bounty Hunter, which is now available on DVD, much to the chagrin of Aries, who tells Johnny to get in the ring and stop advertising his movie on his time. Johnny then dares Aries to fight him on the ramp, but Aries refuses. Johnny then tells Aries that he can stay in the ring and prove that "the banana in his pocket is as small as everybody thinks it is." This is enough to get Austin Aries upset and charge at Johnny Impact, and both men brawl on the entrance ramp. Aries, Kross and Moose all get superkicked, and it soon becomes a three-on-one beatdown on Johnny Impact. Security shows up, but they are easily laid out by Moose before he, Kross and Aries place Johnny's head into a steel chair and smash another steel chair into the legs of the first one to target Johnny's neck.

Here are the top five moments from tonight's show!
