Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 26, 2018

General Manager William Regal shows up to start tonight's show. During the last month, he was been working on who attacked Aleister Black. Before he can say much more, The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong) shows up. Cole says that it is the same routine week after week for him not to do his job and instead pretend to be Sherlock Holmes. He says the attack on Aleister Black is on Regal and is in the past, and that Regal should make sure these attacks don't happen again. Strong asks if Regal will deal with War Raiders, then Cole says nobody in The Undisputed Era likes Aleister Black. Regal says he finds it funny that The Undisputed Era interrupted him, and the Era take offense to this. Cole thinks Regal is changing the subject to keep War Raiders unchecked, and also says that Ricochet has been ducking him. He is also furious that Pete Dunne has a championship opportunity. Cole then demands he be given a championship rematch right now. Regal tells Cole he never asked him for it and that he wanted Dunne to soften up Ricochet before asking. Cole tells Regal to watch what he is saying, but Regal says he won't be getting a fast one on him during the investigation on the attack on Aleister Black, and that he will not get his title match out of fairness. However, Adam Cole will be facing Ricochet and Pete Dunne for the NXT North American Championship in two weeks, while Strong and O'Reilly will defend the NXT tag titles against War Raiders in three weeks.

We see footage from earlier today where Johnny Gargano says he is excited about something for once: his match this week. He also says he did not like where he was going and went home. For the first time in a while, he is seeing clearly. He was sick and tired of whining and complaining, and that this is not him. Gargano says he had to go home to clear his head. All of a sudden, Gargano and Candice LeRae are approached by Lacey Evans, who says a real wife would fight beside her husband, which angers Candace. Gargano has to hold Candace back to make sure she does not attack Lacey Evans from behind.

We see a vignette for Lars Sullivan.

Backstage, The Velveteen Dream is approached for an interview by Cathy Kelley following a photo shoot. He refuses to talk about Johnny Gargano or Tommaso Ciampa, implying that Ciampa attacked Aleister Black. When asked if he knows that Ciampa attack Aleister, The Dream says he is not a snitch and that "the writing is on the wall."

Lars Sullivan beats Victor Orchant (portrayed by indies wrestler Vordell Walker) by disqualification after he is attacked by Ethan Carter III, who gets the better of Lars Sullivan in a post-match brawl.

Backstage, General Manager William Regal says he has narrowed things down and still needs answers on who attacked Aleister Black. Suddenly, Nikki Cross comes out of Regal's office, saying she wants to play with Bianca Belair again. Regal says she will take this under consideration, then Cross repeats the words "I know." When asked if Cross knows who attacked Aleister Black, Regal says that "nobody knows what Nikki knows."

Before the next match, The Mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) show up with Street Profits' (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) black Solo cup and jewelry.

The Mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne) beat Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) with a Figure Four jackknife pin after Montez Ford's knee buckles.

Kairi Sane beats Vanessa Borne. After the match, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Bsazler shows up and heads to the ring. Baszler tells Kairi to celebrate with the Women's title while she can, because time is running out. She says Kairi may have won at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn 4, but she will not take that anger out on her right now. She exercises her rematch clause, and says she will sink Kairi Sane and take back the title. Kairi gives her the rematch for the title at WWE Evolution, and says she will beat her again.

We see footage from earlier today where Keith Lee says he wants an opportunity at some championship gold to become limitless. He comes upon "The Finest" Kona Reeves, who is unimpressed by Lee before introducing himself. He tells Lee to wait his turn as he prepares for an interview, but Lee says if he wants to talk down to him, then they can meet in the ring so Reeves can bask in his glory.

Next week: The Forgotten Sons (Steve Cutler, Wesley Blake, Jaxson Ryker) in action! Ethan Carter III vs. Lars Sullivan!

Tommaso Ciampa beats Otiz Dozovic with two draping DDTs.
