The Great American Bash, Night Two - NXT recap for August 6, 2024

We see Hank Walker and Tank Ledger's vlog of their hosting The Great American Bash so far, as well as a recap of last week's episode.

Pete Dunne beats Trick Williams.

In backstage footage from earlier today, everyone has a party. Lexis King changes the music to a rock 'n roll soundtrack before mocking everyone's musical tastes. Eddy Thorpe confronts Lexis King, and Lexis King gets kicked out of the party. Afterwards, Robert Stone and Stevie Turner talk their way into a chicken wing eating contest.

Backstage, "All Ego" Ethan Page is talking to the trainer when Nathan Frazer wishes him luck. Ethan mentions Axiom getting pinned, but Nathan mentions Ethan getting pinned. Ethan gets mad and says Nathan should be worried about losing his own title before walking away.

Kelani Jordan retains the NXT North American Women's Championship against Tatum Paxley. During the match, Fallon Henley, Jacy Jayne and Jazymn Nyx watch from backstage, as does Wendy Choo, who shows up at ringside to reclaim one of her dolls. After the match, Wendy hands the doll back to Tatum, then puts her in a sleeper hold.

Backstage, Wren Sinclair meets with Charlie Dempsey and Myles Borne, then says she will wrestle Kendal Grey while simultaneously wanting into the group. Dempsey refuses, then The D'Angelo Family (Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Adrianne Rizzo, Luca Crusifino) shows up, and Tony D'Angelo proposes a Heritage Cup match for Dempsey if Wren wins. Demspey lets Wren in the group, then Oba Femi passes by before Nathan Frazer is suddenly met by Axiom.

Backstage, Pete Dunne says Trick Williams has all the talent in the world, but he is at the top to the game, and says he is more ready for the NXT Championship than Trick before Trick attacks him. Officials quickly move into place.

"All Ego" Ethan Page retains the NXT Championship against Oro Mensah after Oro slips off the top rope.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews The Rascalz. Zachary Wentz says that it has been a while since they lost the NXT Tag Team titles, and he and Wes Lee never thought this day would come. Wes Lee says he has had some dark days in NXT, and while he has had an amazing solo run, being with his brothers is the best moment in his career. He says that it will take a lot of effort to beat Nathan Frazer and Axiom, but they will have their moment.

We see more footage from Hank Walker and Tank Ledger's party. Jaida Parker and Carlee Bright are looking at Dion Lennox when Ashante "Thee" Adonis shows up. Neither of them are interested in Ashante. Lola Vice and Sol Ruca show up wanting the NXT Women's Championship, then Tyson Dupont shows up and says last week's NXT Women's Championship match was awesome. Another guy shows up to catcall all of the women, and he gets punched in the gut by Lola Vice before being put through a table.

Joe Hendry beats Joe Coffey after outsmarting Mark Coffey and Wolfgang to get them ejected from ringside. After the match, Sarah Schreiber interviews Joe Hendry, who says that he is staying in NXT a lot longer, and if anyone has a problem with it, he will be here next Tuesday. As for what is next, he will appear without anyone having to say his name.

At Chase University, Andre Chase teaches in a new classroom, made possible courtesy of Ridge Holland. Ridge shows up and says he has pulled his last favor, and it is an NXT tag team title match against the winners of MSK (Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee) vs. Nathan Frazer and Axiom. Ridge then tells Duke Hudson that it will be him and Andre taking on the winners, much to Duke's disappointment.

At Hank Walker and Tank Ledger's party, Shawn Spears meets with Brooks Jensen, telling him that he owes him an open mind. They are soon gone once they get Hank and Tank's attention. Roxanne Pereze appears briefly. Meanwhile, Robert Stone and Stevie Turner overhears some talk from some of the female Superstars, and Stone comes up with a multi-woman match for a title. Turner punches Stone so she can take credit for the idea. The O.C. (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) soon shows up to trash the party, and Hank and Tank soon brawl with them.

Wren Sinclair beats Kendal Grey. As a result of this match, Charlie Dempsey gets a shot at the NXT Heritage Cup Championship.

We get a closer look at Je'Von Evans courtesy of Mint Mobile.

Backstage, Oba Femi announces that next week, he will be defending the NXT North American Championship against anyone brave enough to face him. The D'Angelo Family (Tony D'Angelo, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Adrianne Rizzo, Luca Crusifino) shows up, and Tony D'Angelo says he will beat Charlie Dempsey to retain the Heritage Cup.

Nathan Frazer and Axiom retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against MSK (Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee). Both teams show respect after the match, but afterwards, Wes Lee superkicks Trey Miguel before kicking Zachary Wentz in the groin, taking his anger out on Wentz for abandoning him before attacking Wentz and Trey again on the outside to end the show.
