Backstage in the locker room, Charlie Dempsey and Wren Sinclair argue over whose lead to follow, with Wren saying if it was not for her, Dempsey would not have the Heritage Cup. Meanwhile, two of Tony D'Angelo's associates try to meet with D'Angelo, but D'Angelo is too focused on the match tonight.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Jaida Parker. Jaida says that her journey has been whirlwind as of late and that she has her sights set on the NXT Women's Championship, and while she is a little sore, she is still ready for Roxanne Perez. She says that Roxanne is one of the best champions in NXT history, but she is not scared of the spotlight after competing in college soccer and she is "a WWE Superstar who used to play soccer," and that the cheers for her will get louder at No Mercy. Roxanne Perez shows up and forces Sarah Schreiber out of the interview to brag about how she ends everyone's stories in disappointment, then says Jaida has everything, but she is not "The Prodigy," and that there is no one better than her. Jaida threatens to slap the taste out of Roxanne's mouth, then actually does it. She then notices someone off camera and says they can get some too, then leaves. Roxanne then notices the person Jaida noticed, but we do not see them.

The D'Angelo Family (Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Luca Crusifino, Adriana Rizzo) beat No Quarter Catch Crew (Charlie Dempsey, Myles Borne, Wren Sinclair) in a six-person mixed tag match. During the match, the two associates from The D'Angelo Family get in touch with Tony D'Angelo at ringside, and they and D'Angelo head to the back.

Backstage, Kelly Kincaid interviews Pete Dunne. Dunne says that while the NXT Championship is still the goal, he will teach Trick Williams that when he messes with "The Bruiserweight," he will beat him within an inch of his life.

Backstage, General Manager Ava confronts "All Ego" Ethan Page for attacking referees last week, and Ethan tries to get himself suspended so he does not have to defend the NXT Championship against Joe Hendry. Ava says that Ethan will be defending the NXT Championship, and that she needs to figure things out.

Zachary Wentz and Wes Lee show up for their face-to-face meeting. Security guards and referees have surrounded the ring before the commercial break. Zachary Wentz says other stables break up, but not The Rascalz, but Wes Lee tells him he is incredibly naive. Wes Lee says he is the bigger star and that Wentz is jealous of everything he has accomplished and is only back to get "the NXT rub." Wes Lee says that they are both on different levels, but Wentz says that no one is prouder of his accomplishments than he is. He says that MSK (Wentz and Wes Lee) was the best tag team in NXT, and while he messed it up, Wes Lee became a star while he became a man. He says that everything motivated him to come back, and Wes Lee admits that while he loves the motivation, the win would only be good for nostalgia. He says that it is not 2022 anymore. Wentz reminds Wes Lee that he was about to quit NXT for the third time when he and Trey showed up. Wentz tells Wes that he always had his back, but Wes Lee says that they are on different levels. Wentz says that Wes Lee has underestimated him despite him wishing Wes success, and now he hopes to fail at No Mercy. Wes tells Wentz to forget everything they have ever done, as he will remind Wentz why he is "a WWE Superstar" while Wentz is "a TNA wrestler," but Wentz says he will beat Wes Lee's ass.

Backstage, Joe Hendry thanks Trick Williams for the assist last week. Trick says that he believes in Joe Hendry, and Joe Hendry tells Trick Williams that when he beats "All Ego" Ethan Page for the NXT Championship, Trick will be his first challenger.

Kelani Jordan heads to the ring. Kelani Jordan heads to the ring. She wants to know what opponent Wendy Choo has in mind for her when Wendy appears on the TitanTron and directs a woman in a black leather hoodie towards the ring. That woman is Rosemary from TNA.

Kelani Jordan beats Rosemary. After the match, Wendy Choo's laughter can be heard, and her face appears on the TitanTron. Suddenly, Kelani is grabbed from behind for a sleeper by Wendy Choo, who soon puts Kelani to sleep. Rosemary hands the Women's North American Championship to Wendy, who holds it up.

Backstage, Meta-Four (Oro Mensah, Lash Legend, Jakara Jackson) is met by Lexis King, who says that nobody wants to hear Oro Mensah's sob stories. He also calls Noam Dar "the real daddy of Meta-Four," and Oro says that is very rich from someone lacking a father figure. Oro and Lexis brawl, and referees have to break the brawl up.

At Chase University, Andre Chase and Ridge Holland celebrate winning the NXT Tag Team Championships, but Duke Hudson expresses regret about himself and Riley Osborne not getting the job done last week. Ridge says that he is still glad to call Chase University his family and that he will not let the NXT tag team titles go. Thea Hail says they will have the reign of all reigns, then Nathan Frazer and Axiom show up. Nathan Frazer and Axiom talk about how they have made each other better, then Frazer says that while there isn't anyone who doesn't love Chase University, Chase U will soon come crumbling down when they take the tag titles back.

Brooks Jensen beats Malik Blade.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Je'Von Evans. Je'Von says that his Joe Coffey does not think he can wrestle, and that Joe Coffey is about to find he can not only wrestle, but throw hands.

Backstage, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger talk about Joe Hendry as well as their online show. OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) show up, bragging that Jaida Parker will win at No Mercy. This turns into what each team has done lately, and Lucien Price says that when they eliminate Hank and Tank, they will get their shot at tag team gold.

Joe Coffey beats Je'Von Evans after Wolfgang distracts the referee from the ring apron so that Mark Coffey can take a bullet for Joe by eating a top rope cutter meant for him.

At the restaurant, Tony D'Angelo finds out that Oba Femi is in his private dining room. D'Angelo is amazed by Oba Femi, and Oba Femi says that while D'Angelo is a powerful man as "The Don of NXT," he is the ruler of NXT and he does not take disrespect. D'Angelo says that he does not take disrespect either, and says that they can handle things like men. Oba Femi says that he will wait until Sunday to handle things, but D'Angelo says he will prove Oba Femi mortal. Oba says others have tried and failed and that D'Angelo will be no different before leaving.

Joe Hendry heads to the ring for his second NXT concert. Hendry thanks the fans for choosing to spend their evening with him, as he a potentially career-defining opportunity against "All Ego" Ethan Page at No Mercy before thanking the fans for their support. To show his appreciation, he has written another song, this time about Ethan Page. Hendry makes fun of Ethan's hobbies as well as his "Karate Guy" character and a loop of Ethan Page lifting weights in a Bowser costume, then tells Ethan Page to put on some clothes. Ethan shows up just before the end of the song as two referees try to hold him back, saying that the sing-along is done and that Hendry will not embarrass him with out-of-context footage. The crowd continues to chant Hendry's song as a visibly bothered Ethan Page tells Hendry that he knows what is best for the people, which is keeping Hendry out of NXT and away from his title. General Manager Ava shows up and says Ethan Page should be flattered, then says she has things figured out and that because of his attack on the referees last week, their match will have a special guest referee: Trick Williams. Trick shows up in a sleeveless referee's shirt and black shorts as Ethan Page is visibly miffed. Ethan tries to attack Hendry with the NXT Championship, but Hendry ducks and hits Hendry with the Standing Ovation before Trick makes the three-count. As Hendry waves the NXT Championship from side to side, Pete Dunne tells Trick Williams that he will not make it to No Mercy.
