Backstage, Myles Borne and Tavion Heights are locked in for their tag team title match.

Tony D'Angelo heads to the ring. D'Angelo mentions Grayson Waller's promo from the start of last week's show and how it disrespected everyone, and that Grayson will not use his title as a boomerang to get himself what he thinks he is owed. He says he will not let Grayson use him as a stepping stone and get what he wants at his expense, but before he can move on to other business, Grayson Waller shows up and interrupts. Grayson is on the balcony as he states that he is "the money fight" and that Grayson and the NXT Championship go through him. D'Angelo says Grayson is not in the ring with him because he is a bitch, then mentions how they were partners back in WarGames. He talks about how Grayson Waller was the only person on their team without a singles title history, then says Grayson is only in NXT to make himself relevant and win the title, but unfortunately for Grayson, he is champion. Grayson says the men's roster is more relevant than ever thanks to him, then says that D'Angelo lost his balls along with his mafia family. As Grayson continues to speak, Cruz Montana - who D'Angelo called out earlier to continue last week's conversation before Grayson interrupted - shows up. Montana says that D'Angelo did not call Grayson out here, but he might as well "give [Grayson] this work." He gives Grayson credit where credit is due for rattling cages, then says he put in the work instead of insulting people and proved over time that he is who he says he is. He says Grayson has a chip on his shoulder because his comfortable life is not so comfortable, while he has one because he has no other option but to survive. He hopes Grayson never meets the man in the mirror he went to war with. Montana says the difference between him and Grayson is that he spent years proving he belonged while Grayson spent years proving people should notice him. Grayson says Montana's opinion does not matter, and that he is embracing his demons. Montana tells Grayson that he only fights for himself and that it will not get him anywhere, and when he has people who depend on him and hold him accountable, that will make him "the man." D'Angelo says that he does not care about either man's motivations and know they want his title, then tells them to meet with General Manager Robert Stone to make a match over who faces him for it.

Lizzy makes it clear she does not trust him, and that if the match goes south, it will be three-on-one really quickly. Lizzy leaves, and Shawn says "Smart girl."

Keanu Carver beats EK Prosper with a small package.

Backstage, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James are worried about Dion Lennox, who is upset that DarkState (Lennox, James, Griffin) is not as untouchable as they used to be and wants it to be untouchable again. He says that Saquon Shugars will not walk away from them again.

As General Manager Robert Stone handles a phone call with a free agent, Cruz Montana shows up and finds out he will face Grayson Waller in an NXT Championship #1 contender's match next week. Stone leaves, Tristan Angels shows up and confronts Montana for being given a chance at a championship, but Montana reminds Tristan that he was not here when he was putting in the work last year when he was still in TNA.

He then calls the four men out so they can finish what they started. All of a sudden, TNA X Division Champion Moose shows up, and says he has burst the bubble Oba Femi is living under because he is the one man he cannot rule over. Oba says this is Moose's bubble, because he is inevitable in NXT. Moose says that Moose vs. Oba Femi must happen.

In footage from earlier today, Eddy Thorpe talks with General Manager Ava when Kale Dixon and Uriah Connors offer invitations to their party, and when they see Thorpe, they want him to be their DJ. Andre Chase is brought up, and when Thorpe says Chase will bring them down, Kale says that Chase would have beaten him in the strap match before he and Uriah challenge Thorpe to a match against Chase tonight.

Karmen Petrovic beats Kelani Jordan and Jaida Parker in a Triple Threat Match to become #1 contender for the NXT Women's North American Championship after Ashante "Thee" Adonis pulls Karmen out of a top rope splash attempt by Kelani, then throws her back into the ring to pick the bones after Jaida hits Kelani with a hip drop in the corner. Starks says that the dream of making it to NXT, main eventing its premium live events and winning the NXT Championship has become reality, and that he has become the man in NXT. He says he will always show up and show out, and that the revolution begins. Before he can sign the contract, "All Ego" Ethan Page shows up and calls him a genius for following the "Ethan Page playbook" to a tee and says there is only one Ethan Page. Ricky says he got Ethan Page in the feelings because he knows the spotlight is not big enough for both of them, and says he is wearing his insecurity as tightly as his jacket. As Starks says he will take NXT to the next level, Ethan says he will not measure up to the bar that he has raised. Starks congratulates Ethan on his win against Je'Von Evans, but warns him that Je'Von has the dog in him and that he will come back around and whip his ass. As Ethan takes this as Starks coming to Je'Von's rescue and boasts that Je'Von could not even walk himself to the arena tonight, Je'Von suddenly shows up and brawls with Ethan in the crowd. Starks goes back to signing the contract when Wes Lee shows up and tells him that there are some rules around here, with rule #1 being that you do not disrespect him. He says signing the contact might be a good idea, but if he does, he will be the one to show him the ropes. Bischoff says the tension between them is palpable, with Ridge reminding him of wrestlers from his childhood that took no prisoners and said whatever they wanted while Trick is "the evolution of the revolution." After Bischoff says he cannot wait to see what happens between them, Ridge calls Trick "a stand up comedian" and an insult to the vision of what NXT should be. Wren Sinclair also tells Lexis King that he will need a cornerman for the match.

Ethan says he wanted Trick to think that, as he has been in the game for over seventeen years, but when he talks about his career, he often glosses over everything he had to go through to get here. He then says he and Trick have different paths, as he never had a Performance Center to cater to him and prepare him for a position in the top company, and that he had to go through hell to get where Trick is at. Trick says they both have their stories, but he will not let Ethan shame him because he is blessed. Ethan says Trick does not get it, and asks him if he had ever been taken to his physical limit and still had to get up and keep fighting. He also asks Trick if he has tasted his own blood enough times to eventually like the taste of it, then Trick says he is glad Ethan is used to it because he will bust him up again on Sunday. Ethan says Trick is "all flash and fake confidence," and that he hit him with a light to give him a taste of the Devil's Playground match, where anything goes and it only benefits him. Ethan says Trick looks nice right now, but he has the devil inside of him and not Trick, and that Trick is "not tough" and not built for the Devil's Playground. Ethan also tells Trick that all of Trick's previous opponents in NXT are not as savage as he is, and that on Sunday, Trick will see a version of him few have seen. Trick says Ethan is all talk and has done everything except beat him even when he was champion. After Trick says Sunday will be no difference, Ethan warns Trick that he is a desperate man and that it took him seventeen years to become a champion in WWE, and after he got a taste, he became addicted, and he will satiate that taste on Sunday. He says that they are entering the Devil's Playground, and for the first time in Trick's career, Trick will be made to go through hell as they play by the Devil's rules, which are also his. Trick says he looks forward to it.

He then says he can now be the most dangerous man in NXT that everyone expected him to be, then says that Chase University will be finished for good at Halloween Havoc and that Andre Chase will be going for an ambulance ride.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Tony D'Angelo, who admits he does not know what is going on and that it is now personal between him and Oba Femi and that he will use everything to beat Oba Femi's ass at Halloween Havoc. He tells Oba Femi that he should have been careful what he wished for when he wanted him alone, because now he is going to get it.

Stephanie Vaquer and Giulia beat The Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne and Fallon Henley) after Roxanne Perez shows up to distract Giulia only for Kelani Jordan to show up and beat up Roxanne. After the match, Cora Jade and Roxanne stare down Giulia and Vaquer from the balcony as Kelani Jordan stares down The Fatal Influence (Jacy, Fallon, Jazmyn Nyx) from inside the ring. Jacy Jayne spins the wheel, which lands on Spinner's Choice. Before The Fatal Influence can make their choice, Zaria suddenly shows up.

At the start of the segment, Theory says that he and Waller are the greatest graduates in NXT history before listing off their collective accomplishments, then they bring out Frazer and Axiom, who they will face for the NXT tag titles. Frazer says that they are "more than fine," which is more than could be said about A-Town Down Under (Grayson and Theory). Theory takes exception to that comment, and Grayson says that nobody wants them to break up before stating that Frazer and Axiom are done as a team after they beat them for the tag titles. As A-Town Down Under continue to state Frazer and Axiom are better as singles competitors, Axiom says that while they did not plan this, they ended up being the tag team division's gatekeepers, and Frazer that they will send A-Town Down six feet under. Grayson agrees, saying they have performed under the brightest lights and biggest stages, and that Frazer and Axiom will feel "The Grayson Waller Effect."Frazer asks what "The Grayson Waller Effect" is and asks if it should be "The Grayson Waller and Austin Theory Effect.
