Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 4, 2026

Jaida Parker and Thea Hail beat Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic. After the match, Nattie, Karmen and Nikkita go on the attack, but Nattie inadvertently punches out Nikkita when Thea Hail ducks a punch from her. This allows Thea and Jaida to clean house.

Backstage, Myles Borne and Tavion Heights are locked in for their tag team title match.

Tony D'Angelo heads to the ring. D'Angelo mentions Grayson Waller's promo from the start of last week's show and how it disrespected everyone, and that Grayson will not use his title as a boomerang to get himself what he thinks he is owed. He says he will not let Grayson use him as a stepping stone and get what he wants at his expense, but before he can move on to other business, Grayson Waller shows up and interrupts. Grayson is on the balcony as he states that he is "the money fight" and that Grayson and the NXT Championship go through him. D'Angelo says Grayson is not in the ring with him because he is a bitch, then mentions how they were partners back in WarGames. He talks about how Grayson Waller was the only person on their team without a singles title history, then says Grayson is only in NXT to make himself relevant and win the title, but unfortunately for Grayson, he is champion. Grayson says the men's roster is more relevant than ever thanks to him, then says that D'Angelo lost his balls along with his mafia family. As Grayson continues to speak, Cruz Montana - who D'Angelo called out earlier to continue last week's conversation before Grayson interrupted - shows up. Montana says that D'Angelo did not call Grayson out here, but he might as well "give [Grayson] this work." He gives Grayson credit where credit is due for rattling cages, then says he put in the work instead of insulting people and proved over time that he is who he says he is. He says Grayson has a chip on his shoulder because his comfortable life is not so comfortable, while he has one because he has no other option but to survive. He hopes Grayson never meets the man in the mirror he went to war with. Montana says the difference between him and Grayson is that he spent years proving he belonged while Grayson spent years proving people should notice him. Grayson says Montana's opinion does not matter, and that he is embracing his demons. Montana tells Grayson that he only fights for himself and that it will not get him anywhere, and when he has people who depend on him and hold him accountable, that will make him "the man." D'Angelo says that he does not care about either man's motivations and know they want his title, then tells them to meet with General Manager Robert Stone to make a match over who faces him for it.

Backstage, Wren Sinclair is focused on her and Kendal Grey's matches. Kendal Grey says they wanted this pressure, then tells Wren that she is up next and that she needs to lock in.

Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair for the WWE Women's Speed Championship ends in a time limit draw. Wren Sinclair retains the WWE Women's Speed Championship. After the match, Zaria attacks Wren Sinclair and hits her with an F-5.

Bronco Nima meets with Lucien Price, saying he owes him after taking his eyes off what mattered most last week. Lucien says Bronco should do what he has to do, and says he should get his back-up plan as Birthright (Lexis King, Uriah Connors, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Arianna Grace) show up trying to drive a wedge between them again. This leads to a challenge to a one-on-one match, and Lucien accepts, saying he has his back-up plan.

Backstage, Kelani Jordan meets with Grayson Waller, saying that she will win the NXT Women's Championship on the very first attempt. Mason Rook shows up and calls out Grayson Waller for calling him soft, saying he can do things in the ring Grayson cannot. As Grayson tells Mason Rook he does not know sacrifice, Mason is attacked from behind by Kam Hendrix, and referees show up to stop the ensuing brawl.

Myles Borne and Tavion Heights beat The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes) to become the NXT Tag Team Champions after Jackson Drake tries to get involved in the match, which only gets him and Myka Lockwood ejected from ringside.

Backstage, Myka Lockwood gets another look at Keanu Carver as a furious Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, Jackson Drake, Myka Lockwood) head to the back.

Backstage, Izzi Dame and Niko Vance meet with Lizzy Rain. Izzi says their match would have went differently if not for Shawn Spears, but Lizzy feels differently. Shawn Spears shows up and says that he has gotten with Robert Stone and that next week it will be Izzi and Niko vs. him and Lizzy. Niko tells Shawn to take his own advice and quit while he is head. Lizzy makes it clear she does not trust him, and that if the match goes south, it will be three-on-one really quickly. Lizzy leaves, and Shawn says "Smart girl."

Keanu Carver beats EK Prosper with a small package.

Backstage, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James are worried about Dion Lennox, who is upset that DarkState (Lennox, James, Griffin) is not as untouchable as they used to be and wants it to be untouchable again. He says that Saquon Shugars will not walk away from them again.

We look back on Kendal Grey winning the NXT Women's Championship at The Great American Bash in this week's NXT Focus.

We hear from Shiloh Hill, who says that he injured his maxilla in his last match with Tristan Angel and that he is now injured, and that he will be out for a while. He also mentions research he did on Kali Armstrong's college track career, the Intercontinental Championship tournament in 1979, and the actual history of the green mist in professional wrestling.

WWE acknowledges the passing of WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk Jr. RIP Dory Funk Jr. (1941 - 2026)

As General Manager Robert Stone handles a phone call with a free agent, Cruz Montana shows up and finds out he will face Grayson Waller in an NXT Championship #1 contender's match next week. Stone leaves, Tristan Angels shows up and confronts Montana for being given a chance at a championship, but Montana reminds Tristan that he was not here when he was putting in the work last year when he was still in TNA.

Kendal Grey retains the NXT Women's Championship against Lola Vice in an NXT Underground Match by submission with a triangle hold that sees Kendal bleed under the right ear after being tripped into ring steps, Lola Vice nearly knocking Kendal Grey out of the ring, and referee Adrian Butler getting knocked out by a spinning back fist by Lola Vice. Both women bow and then hug in a show of respect before Lola raises Kendal's hand after the match.

Myles says that is only if Mason Rook does not get to Hendrix first.

Saquon Shugars are met by OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price), who refuse to team with him against DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Osiris Griffin). All of a sudden, Birthright show up, and OTM confronts them over their recent actions. Lexis King tries to drive a wedge between OTM with Bronco being in AAA, and tells OTM to settle things between themselves and stop coming for them.

Tristan Angels is in the ring. He says that God has a strange sense of humor when he created men like Shiloh Hill, yet was so overcome with remorse that he created him as an apology. He then states that he has repossessed Shiloh's tooth so that nobody sees him as normal and everyone can see him as nothing more than "a creepy, hillbilly weirdo" who was never fit to stand across the ring from him. Tristan then says he will no longer allow Shiloh to lie to himself, then places the tooth on the ring steps and stomps on it. Shiloh shows up on the TitanTron and says that losing his teeth helped him find his mind. He says he can fix his smile, but Tristan cannot fix the fact that the fog is coming before the lights go out and fog fills the arena.

Backstage, Nattie shows up with Layla Biggs, Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons as General Manager Robert Stone speaks with Izzi Dame and Lizzy Rain. Backstage, Saquon Shugars talks with Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair about his tag team partner problem. Lola Vice shows up and tells Kendal that they are not done and that she will take the NXT Women's Championship back. Kendal tells Lola she had better win, and Lola says she will.

Backstage, Tony D'Angelo meets with General Manager Robert Stone, saying that he wants Naraku. Stone says that he is trying to protect him, and asks D'Angelo if he will take to the streets. D'Angelo says this is a great idea, and Stone gives him an NXT Championship match for next week. D'Angelo says that is good, but not good enough, and that he is not waiting. Stone follows as D'Angelo leaves the room, asking D'Angelo what he is going to do.

Jackson Drake beats Tavion Heights with a Sunset Flip following the distraction by Brad Baylor.

We see a vignette for Reina Volcan. She says she always had a voice that demanded more. She says that nature does not ask for permission or apologize for its actions. She says she was born to destroy expectations, not meet them, and that she will bury everyone's favorites beneath the wreckage and that NXT will not survive her. Reina Volcan debuts next week.

Backstage, Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno are met by Saquon Shugars, who is still looking for tag team partners. Noam Dar tells Saquon that he is untrustworthy due to his past, and Saquon says that while he needs partners, he has no problem fighting on his own. Romeo Moreno sees this as an opportunity, and Saquon asks Noam Dar when he last backed down from a fight. Noam Dar gives in and tells Saquon that he and Moreno will team with him against DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Osiris Griffin).

Backstage, Wren Sinclair speaks with Kendal Grey when Kali Armstrong shows up and says that she will win tonight and take the NXT Women's Championship. Kendal says that she will either pin her or tap her out and that they will find out who will win next week, then Kali Armstrong leaves. She then sees Jaida Parker looking at her, and Jaida tells her that Kelani Jordan and Lola Vice does not care about her nickname of "The Difference Maker." Kali leaves, then Jaida is attacked from behind by Nattie, Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons.

In this week's NXT Focus, we hear from Shawn Spears, who talks about his time in NXT and how he saw something in Niko Vance and Izzi Dame. He says that the truth will ultimately prevail, and that Izzi has become everything he hoped she would become and more, and that he is proud of Niko for taking a big step forward. He then says Niko took two steps back after putting him through a table, but he should have known he would come back for him, and next week, he will drag Niko into deep waters and see just how much he has learned.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 30, 2026

Backstage, Wren Sinclair tells Kendal Grey that this is her moment before Kendal heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Kendal admits she is more nervous talking in the ring right now than she was in the main event on Sunday, as talking was never her strong suit, then says that when John Cena picked her for the Iron Survivor Challenge, she was in matches she was not prepared for. She says that nobody puts pressure on her like her and that she is not used to losing, and while she ran through Evolve's women's division, she dropped the ball when she came to NXT. Kendal then says that when she won the NXT Women's Championship, she proved she could run with the women's division in NXT, and says that unlike Lola Vice in her designer dresses, she does not look like a champion. Kendal says she will never be comfortable looking like a Barbie doll or comfortable talking in front of people, but when the bell rings, she will wrestle like a champion and take the women's division to a level no one has seen before. She then says that if her championship puts a target on her back, then she welcomes that target, as the match will go at her pace and nobody will be able to keep up with her. Wren Sinclair then shows up with a small celebratory cake and says that she let Kendal have her moment, then says that Kendal had a vision of the both of them leaving The Great American Bash as champions, and it came true. As Kendal and Sinclair are about to celebrate with a small two-layer cake, Kelani Jordan shows up wanting a match for the NXT Women's Championship after not getting a match at The Great American Bash. As Kendal says that she was attacked by "a lunatic" for speaking her truth, Tatum Paxley comes out of the crowd and attacks Kendal, chasing her to the back while Kendal and Sinclair gorge on the two-layer cake.

It is revealed that Keanu Carver has attacked El Hijo del Vikingo with a metal pipe before Vikingo's match with EK Prosper tonight. (Before tonight's show, it is announced that Vikingo got injured while going over the match with EK Prosper, and that it is not known how severe the injury is.)

Romeo Moreno and Noam Dar also show up wanting a title shot. Robert Stone puts Birthright, OTM, DarkState (Cutler James and Osiris Griffin) and the team of Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux in a #1 contenders' Fatal 4-Way match. Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno miss the boat on the opportunity, but Noam tells Moreno that this is why one does not rush in and that they need to build their resumé up. Romeo believes he and Noam just need one win.

Jackson Drake beats Mason Rook after "The Smoke Show" Ricky Smokes distracts Rook so that Drake can hit the Backstabber and Myka Lockwood can hold Rook's foot down to secure the win. After the match, Brad Baylor tries to attack Mason Rook, but Rook overpowers him and rams him into Jackson Drake.

He then talks about being in an ambulance with a burned right eye and how he had to sign a bunch of waivers to defend against Naraku. He admits that he paused and asked if he was willing to risk his own health to defend the NXT Championship on the last form he signed, then he decided he was and he beat Naraku. D'Angelo then says his eye will recover, then tells his next challenger - whoever it may be - that he is the master of his fate and the captain of his soul, and asks what his next challenger is willing to do to take the NXT Championship from him. As Kendal Grey heads to the ring for the next match, D'Angelo heads to the back only to be attacked with a metal folding chair by Naraku before officials arrive. After the commercial break, we find out that Naraku spit red mist into Tony D'Angelo's face before attacking him.

Izzi Dame shows up and accuses Kelani of jumping the line, as she actually pinned Lola Vice, and says that if anyone will get a title shot, it is her. Lola Vice shows up and says that while both women have wins, she has won where it mattered. She says that Kelani still could not handle her, then gives Izzi Dame her fifteen minutes of fame with a championship match. This gives Shiloh fourteen signatures before approaching Birthright (Lexis King, Uriah Connors, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace). They also consider Shiloh a disgrace, and Charlie Dempsey challenges Shiloh to a match so that he can show him what a real wrestler is.

Sarah Schreiber interviews Kam Hendrix in the ring. Kam Hendrix brags about beating two champions in his debut match, then says that he has caught Tony D'Angelo slipping and wants to face him for the NXT Championship. Suddenly, Mason Rook shows up and says that Hendrix acts like their win was all his doing and that the fans know they were a team, and that without him, he would not be calling his shot right now. Mason Rook demands Kam Hendrix give him credit for the victory, but people will not remember Mason and that people will remember him as the one who will beat the champion. Mason Rook beats Kam Hendrix up in response.

Myles says that the fans know what he has been through and what he fights for, and instead of thanking the fans and his family for support, he thanks his biggest haters for doubting him, including "All Ego" Ethan Page, who did not think he had this in him. He said that instead of teaching him that he lacked a killer instinct, he lit a fire that awakened a demon. Saints then says he will guest on commentary for the next match to see who is qualifying, and tells Ethan to head to the back and put his feet up.

Parker says that she is happy to be back, and while things have changed in NXT, she has not, and she has been watching while she was gone, saying that the women's division has been tearing it up. She says that she wanted to come back with no excuses, because standards do not to talk; they get checked, tested, pressed, and keep getting up again and again. Jaida then says that everybody has their opinions about her, and while there are days she may not be able to catch a break, she can catch eyes and she can catch people's attention. As she continues to speak, the lights go out, and Jaida is not impressed with this before Blake Monroe shows up on the balcony with the spotlight on her. The lights go on as Blake says Jaida made a mistake interrupting her, saying she is just talk and that she does not come back and get in her way. Jaida says Blake only talks so much because she has nothing to prove, and says that Blake has her to deal with at the end of the day.

Backstage, Myles Borne meets with General Manager Ava when Elio LaFleur shows up and thanks Ava for the opportunity, saying this is just the beginning. General Manager Ava shows up with three policemen, and Tony D'Angelo turns himself in before escorted to the back.

We hear from The Culling (Shawn Spears, Nikko Vance, Izzi Dame). Izzi Dame says her Women's North American Championship personifies why The Culling was created. Spears is proud of Izzi. Niko Vance agrees with Izzi, then says that he and Shawn Spears should re-focus on the tag team titles and have OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) and DarkState (Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin) do most of the work. Izzi knows they can get the job done.

Tony D'Angelo is escorted from the building by police. General Manager Ava says she had no choice, and D'Angelo does not answer any questions. Meanwhile, OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) tells DarkState (Saquon Shugars and Osiris Griffin) that last week was a warning, and now, they are coming for the tag team titles next week.

Backstage, The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, "The Smoke Show" Ricky Smokes, Jackson Drake) brag about getting the win tonight, and Brad Baylor says that next week will be even better when Jackson Drake wins his NXT Championship Ladder Match qualifier. Robert Stone congratulates The Vanity Project, then tells Jackson Drake that he will face Joe Hendry in next week's qualifier. Hendry shows up around Ricky's arm and says he will not pass up this match and that he will see Drake next week. We hear from DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin), who make it clear that they will attack anyone anywhere and that they will see TNA again soon. They also look forward to the NXT tag team title match tonight.

Josh Briggs and Yoshiki Inamura head to the ring, followed by Oba Femi. Inamura says Oba Femi will be his greatest challenge, but he is ready. He says that fans, friends and family support him, and now he must make them proud. He says that he will fight with honor at The Great American Bash and become the new NXT Champion. Oba Femi says that fans, friends and family will be the ones picking up the pieces and asks if Inamura can lose with honor, as the truth will prevail and Inamura will not take his title from him. Josh Briggs reminds Oba Femi that Inamura beat Jasper Troy more easily than Oba did and that he will beat Oba. He also says that while Inamura is a man of honor, he is a man of mayhem, and he will make sure Inamura leaves as champion, as this is their only chance. Oba tells Briggs this is not his fight, and wants Briggs out of his face. Briggs and Oba brawl, and while Oba sends Briggs out of the ring, Inamura slams Oba Femi with the greatest of ease before officials arrive.

Jordynne Grace meets Blake Monroe in a nail salon and reluctantly goes along with the idea. She ends up enjoying it and bonding with Blake Monroe after a while.

Arianna says that they destroyed that legacy before bringing up one last piece of family business. She brings up everyone's doubts, then says she has talked to General Manager Ava and gave them a Triple Threat Match as well as their final battle. D'Angelo, Crusifino and Stacks argue, then D'Angelo says that whatever will be, will be. Things come to a head when all three men stand up at the same time.

Jasper Troy is suddenly in the ring, demanding that the NXT Championship match be a Triple Threat Match. Je'Von Evans shows up surrounded by security, but that does not stop him from taking Jasper Troy out.

Tatum Paxley joins The Culling (Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, Izzi Dame) backstage. Niko Vance says he took down Hank Walker and Tank Ledger and can do it again, then The Culling focus on championship gold.

Hank Walker and Tank Ledger retain the NXT Tag Team Championships against The Culling (Shawn Spears and Niko Vance) after Sol Ruca and Zaria brawl with Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley.

Backstage, Kale Dixon has a panic attack, and Andre Chase has to talk him through it.

She announces that Jaida Parker, Lola Vice, Kelani Jordan, Lash Legend, Izzi Dame and Tatum Paxley will represent NXT in the battle royal, but it is not long before The Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Jazmyn Nyx) shows up. She mentions that Ava talks about everyone else when her match will be the highlight of Evolution, then says that when you talk about the women's division, you talk about her. Jordynne Grace shows up and says that the women who paved the way, not Jacy Jayne, that make Evolution special, and that she will steer NXT into the future when she beats Jacy.
