Generation NXT - NXT recap for March 31, 2026

Mike Santana and OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) beat DarkState (Dion Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin) in a six-man tag match.

We see Vic Joseph's backstage interview with Myles Borne from earlier today. Borne says he thanks Charlie Dempsey as well as "All Ego" Ethan Page for making him the champion he is today, and says Ethan gave him the edge that he must keep to stay champion. He says that it will be harder to stay champion than it was to become it, and he plans to walk out as North American Champion after Stand & Deliver. Myles Borne says that he is facing a SmackDown Superstar in Johnny Gargano and that he does not know what to expect from Gargano, but he hopes to get "Johnny Wrestling." Gargano shows up and takes over for Vic Joseph, and tells Borne that he used to be known as "Johnny Takeover," and if he becomes Johnny Takeover, he will eat Borne alive. He says that he will be the man he once was if he wins the North American Championship and that he will not know what he will do if he loses. Gargano claims that the cannot lay down and die, and that he must stand and deliver more than anyone knows.

Backstage, Wren Sinclair gets Kendal Grey hyped up for her match against Lola Vice.

Los Americanos (Rayo Americano and Bravo Americano) beat Birthright (Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo and Uriah Connors) in the finals of the NXT Tag Team Championship #1 contenders' tournament to earn a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships after Shiloh Hill chases off the rest of Birthright (Lexis King, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace) and El Grande Americano II shows up to distract both Birthright and the referee so that Los Americanos can load their masks, allowing Bravo Americano to headbutt Uriah Connors for the win.

Backstage, Dion Lennox is furious that DarkState (Lennox, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin) is slipping and states that they are the danger of NXT, not the other way around, and that he will make sure of this at Stand & Deliver.

Jaida Parker beats Kelani Jordan.

Backstage, The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, "The Smoke Show" Ricky Smokes, Jackson Drake) meet with Blake Monroe and offer to keep an eye out for Tatum Paxley, but Blake Monroe says she is ready for Tatum and ready for her close-up.

General Manager Robert Stone, Joe Hendry, "All Ego" Ethan Page, Ricky Saints and Tony D'Angelo are all seated at tables in the ring for a contract signing for the NXT Championship Fatal 4-Way Match at Stand & Deliver. Joe Hendry takes the contract and signs it as Saints and Ethan squabble over it, then admits he cannot wait to see who stabs the other back between them first, as they both cannot stand seeing the other as NXT Champion and their friendship will fall apart. Hendry says Saints and Ethan cannot separate passion from desperation, and while they are desperate to be NXT Champion again, he is passionate about being NXT Champion and being in NXT in Madison Square Garden. He then says he will take that passion and defend this championship, as he will be the one to stand and deliver despite what Saints and Ethan have in store while the fans chant "We Believe." Saints tells Hendry to stop overanalyzing their friendship, and while he and Ethan want the same thing, that does not mean they cannot support each other. He also says that the NXT Championship should belong to him, then says he will make things right when he takes the title back. Saints signs the contract and hands it to Ethan, who also agrees that everything will be right in the world as he has been focused on being the greatest North American until Saints reminded him of his true value and that he deserves global recognition. Ethan says he will be the one to be the champion for a second time and signs the contract, then Tony D'Angelo yells at Ethan and Saints to shut up and mentions Saints and Ethan's histories with the title, and says NXT is in his blood, unlike Hendry's. D'Angelo says he will run everyone over like a freight train at Stand & Deliver, then signs the contract before telling Robert Stone to get out of the ring for the inevitable brawl. Stone gets out of dodge and calls for security. D'Angelo and Ethan put Saints and Hendry through the two tables, and security has to break up what is left.

Keanu Carver beats Jasper Troy in a match with Josh Briggs as special guest referee after Briggs boots Jasper Troy for shoving him. After the match, Carver demands that Briggs raise his hand in victory. Briggs does just that, then plows through him with a lariat.

Backstage, Hank Walker, Tank Ledger, Eli Knight, Elio LaFleur and "Super" Sean Legacy chat backstage. LaFleur says that he will be out for six months and will have to relinquish the WWE Speed Championship. Wren Sinclair shows up and says sorry to LaFleur, then Shiloh Hill shows up and laughs about what he did to Birthright (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace). Hank says this is not the time as they are not on Stand & Deliver and are on the outside looking in, then Shiloh says he is not on the show either, yet he has an idea.

Tatum Paxley heads to the ring. Paxley talks about how she grabbed Blake Monroe by her hair and realized that Blake is "a very complex woman," which excites her. She then calls out Blake Monroe to return the Women's North American Champonship, but Blake says she has no issue with Tatum when she shows up. Blake also says that the title feels right on her and that she never lost it in the first place, and that she cannot give it back. Tatum says Blake has something she wants, but she has something Blake wants. Tatum says Blake has the opportunity to appear at Stand & Deliver and that Blake crave the sense of belonging, which she says she has had and has caused her to do unbelievable harm while heading to place she never thought existed. Tatum proposes they face each other for the Women's North American Championship, and Blake considers Tatum the perfect co-star for the biggest show before accepting her challenge. Blake then makes it clear that they are polar opposites and that she is a polished woman and the standard of NXT while Tatum looks like one of the fans. Tatum makes it clear that while there is a bad side to Blake, there is a worse side to her, and she can be the goth to Blake's glamor and the fire to Blake's hell. This leads to both women playing tug-of-war with the Women's North American Championship, and while Tatum gets the better of Blake, Blake steals the title back.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews General Manager Robert Stone, who says that Stand & Deliver is stacked and that on the countdown, there will be a ten-person mixed tag match between Birthright (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace) and the team of Hank Walker, Tank Ledger, Wren Sinclair, Shiloh Hill and Eli Knight. Keanu Carver then shows up wanting a match with Josh Briggs, and gets a triple threat match with Briggs and Jasper Troy next week. All of a sudden, Kelani Jordan is attacking Jaida Parker with a garbage can.

This week's NXT Focus is a video package chronicling the rise and fall of the team of Sol Ruca and Zaria.

Backstage, Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid) have been watching NXT Focus, and Jacy Jayne says she is glad they do not have a friendship problem while Lainey Reid says that all there is left to do is to see who Jacy's next opponent is. Izzi Dame shows up from behind them and says there is a reason that everyone wants the NXT Women's Championship, then says she makes it crystal clear what she wants.

Kendal Grey beats Lola Vice in an NXT Women's Championship #1 contender's match after countering a guillotine choke with a Northern Lights Suplex...almost. Before Kendal Grey can be declared the winner, another referee shows up and says that Kendal Grey tapped out to the choke, which was still applied, just before the count reached three. The pinfall is replayed, and Kendal Grey is seen tapping out to a still-applied guillotine choke despite the Northern Lights Suplex. Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, Lainey Reid) is watching from the bottom of the ramp as Shawn Michaels suddenly shows up and gets to the bottom of everything in the ring as the show ends.

During the match, it is revealed that Elio LeFleur and Eli Knight have been attacked in the parking lot. After the match, Kendal Grey brags about tapping Lainey Reid out after Wren Sinclair took the Women's Speed title from Fallon, then states that she will take the NXT Women's Championship from Jacy Jayne. Lola Vice shows up and agrees that a new woman needs to run the women's division, and while Kendal will hold a title one day, it will not be that day when she breaks Jacy's jaw and becomes champion herself. Interim General Manager Robert Stone shows up and makes Lola vs. Kendal in a #1 contender's match for the NXT Women's Championship next week.

Sol Ruca is in the ring. She says she has been going back and forth about what she wanted to talk about, and part of her did not want to say anything at all. She says she has seen what Zaria has said on social media, and thought that they were stronger than this. Sol Ruca states that Zaria states that decided that she was not worth standing next to anymore, even after she fought for her when no one else would and always gave her the benefit of the doubt so she could make her name mean something. She then says that Zaria never wanted to be part of a team and just wanted her moment, and when she could not get her own moment, Zaria took her out. Sol Ruca says she wanted to pull Zaria forward and did what she did because she thought they were better together, and that she wanted Zaria to shine as much as she did. She says that while she was fighting for the both of them, Zaria just wanted to make everything about her. Sol Ruca then says she sees and hears her and knows who Zaria really are, and dares Zaria to prove she can stand alone at Stand & Deliver. When Sol Ruca demands Zaria face her, Zaria shows up and accuses Sol Ruca of wanting her own success more while giving her nothing and making her nothing more than "Sol Ruca's partner" rather than Zaria. She states that when she Speared Sol Ruca, she took back everything Sol Ruca took from her, and she was no longer standing in her own shadow. She says that this all started at Stand & Deliver and that it will all end there. Zaria says that Sol Ruca was never going to share anything with her as soon as she kicked her off the ladder, and that she hated having to stand near someone who had everything she wanted and could not get it. Zaria concludes for that as long as Sol Ruca stands, she is never going to. She says this is not about Sol Ruca, but about choosing herself, and if breaking her will allow her to be who she wants to become, so be it. Sol Ruca is surprised that Zaria views her as the bad guy in her story and that she viewed their friendship as a transactional relationship, then says that Zaria threw away opportunities because she was ashamed to stand beside her. Zaria says that Sol Ruca is not the villain, but the mistake.

Backstage, "All Ego" Ethan Page and Ricky Saints talk in the locker room. Ethan says she wants to be NXT Champion, as does Saints. Josh Briggs is sitting nearby and listening, and say that while they are complaining, he cannot even get five minutes with Interim General Manager Robert Stone. Saints claims that he will soon take his place as a two-time NXT Champion when "All Ego" Ethan Page shows up and reminds Saints that he pinned Joe Hendry. Saints lets Ethan call out Borne, but Ethan wants to be a two-time NXT Champion, not North American. AJ Lee thinks that Becky is either having a nervous breakdown or actually wants to go one-on-one with her, then finds it flattering and mentions she has not been in a singles match in over a decade. AJ Lee then wonders if that will make her lucky or better if she beats Becky, then realizes that would make her #1 contender for the Women's Intercontinental Championship, which causes Becky to repeatedly say "No!" Dominik refuses to repeat what Vaquer said to Liv before responding. Vaquer says that Dominik said he is a little bitch, then Liv says Vaquer is not capable of filling her "Hot girls love Dominik Mysterio" shirt. Pearce refuses, but Punk tells him to give him what he wants or else he will chase Finn and knock his teeth down his throat. Pearce refuses, but Punk tells him to give him what he wants or else he will chase Finn and knock his teeth down his throat. Pearce relents and makes the match official for the World Heavyweight Championship at Elimination Chamber. Finn is escorted away through the crowd, then Punk lets Michael Cole go with the interview. Michael Cole asks Punk why he would jeopardize the main event of WrestleMania like he just did, but Punk says he is building and chasing greatness by being a fighting champion. He says that chasing greatness comes with the responsibility of proving that he is the best in the world, and that he is brave enough to know that without risk, there is no reward, and he is brave enough to put it all on the line for the fans every Monday night. Punk knows it could happen any night at any city, but he does his best to make sure it does not happen. He then says he does not believe Roman Reigns when Roman says he hates him, and that he really hates being unable to stop what Punk is building. Punk then proclaims that WrestleMania will end with him still holding the World Heavyweight Championship.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce is met by The Vision ("The Oracle" Paul Heyman, "Big" Bronson Reed, Logan Paul, Austin Theory). Heyman asks if this is a threat or a declarative statement. Pearce says this is a threat, and as The Vision leave, Logan Paul boldly asks Pearce what he will do if they get involved. He then states that this is a rhetorical question, and "Big" Bronson Reed has to hold Logan back. Bronson tells Logan that Pearce is his problem now, not Logan's.

Nattie vs. Maxxine Dupri ends in a no-contest after Nattie gives Maxxine so much of a beatdown that Maxxine can barely protect herself. Punk mentions his twenty-plus year history with Styles and states that there is nothing but respect between them, then wants to know what Styles is doing putting his career on the line against Gunther, especially when the two of them still have a lot of moments to make. He also tells Styles that he has watched his career during their friendship and feels that the stakes are just too high. Styles takes this as Punk thinking he cannot beat Gunther, but Punk says he knows Styles can beat Gunther. Punk says that if Royal Rumble does not go Styles' way, then the two of then cannot square off in a WWE ring. Styles, admitting that he knows that Punk is not coming across in a such a way, says that Punk is being disrespectful, but Punk says he is more selfish than anything. Styles says he can beat Gunther, and he knows that he can Punk. Punk says that if Styles loses, the world will never know for sure, and that leaves him at a loss as to what to do. Styles proposes that they face each other tonight, and if he beats Punk tonight, he will be #1 contender for the World Heavyweight Championship if he beats Gunther at Royal Rumble. Punk says that he promised to be a fighting champion, and if they are going to do this tonight, they are going to do this for the championship. He then accepts Styles' challenge for tonight with the title on the line. Both men then shake hands.

Rhea Ripley, Iyo Sky and Stephanie Vaquer beat The Judgment Day (Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez) in a six-woman tag match.

Backstage, Finn Balor catches up to CM Punk. He says that even though he did not win last week, he was still part of the most important night of his career. Finn thanks Punk, then says there are not a lot of men like them left. He proposes that Finn leave The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, Liv Morgan, Raquel Rodriguez, Roxanne Perez), as he will not do much hanging with "trash" like "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio, and tells him to win the Royal Rumble.

Paul Heyman introduces The Vision, including Bron Breakker, who will be speaking with General Manager Adam Pearce regarding his suspension. He then states that the table has been set and that The Vision welcomes Pearce's presence. Pearce heads to the ring, and Bronson has to hold Breakker back. Pearce says he is not here to make excuses or apologize for wearing his heart on his sleeves, then admits that things got out of hand. He says he is sick of all the "old-timers" overstaying their welcome and chasing one moment after another, proclaiming that those moments belong to him, and that he is not interesting in Styles taking away moments that belong to him. He also states that Michael Cole falls into that category as well and asks Cole how long he will stick around to chase another moment, then says he could end his career right now. Instead, he wants Michael Cole to call his match with AJ Styles at Royal Rumble and proclaim that Styles' career is over. Gunther laughs and says it is going to be great and memorable.

Becky mocks Jackie's Toronto Maple Leafs jacket and acknowledges that she knows where Natalya is coming from, then declares for the women's Royal Rumble. Rhea Ripley heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Rhea calls out The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane), saying she always knew it would come to this even though she hoped they would handle things in the ring like the warriors they were, and that what they did to Iyo Sky crossed the line. Rhea says they will settle things in the ring and dares The Kabuki Warriors to come and get her. Suddenly, Iyo Sky shows up and heads to the ring. Iyo says it breaks her heart to say that Rhea was right about them, even though they are family and she still loves them. The lights go out, then The Kabuki Warriors show up on the Titantron. Asuka says it is up to Iyo what happens next, as she taught her everything she knows and made her. She says that she only acts like Rhea is her family and that she forgot about her when she became champion. Because she loves Iyo, however, she is willing to forgive her if she apologizes like she should. Kairi Sane says they can still be family and Asuka says they can still be family, but Asuka tells Rhea it is too late for her. Rhea says Asuka can go to hell, then tells Iyo that there is no way she can go back to The Kabuki Warriors after everything they have done to her. Iyo apologizes and says she needs some time before leaving the ring. All of a sudden, Rhea is attacked from behind by The Kabuki Warriors, and Iyo Sky runs into the ring throws Asuka off of Rhea. Kairi begs Iyo off, and that allows Asuka to spit blue mist into Iyo's face. Rhea gets back up and fights off Asuka and Kairi, but Asuka kicks Rhea in the back of the neck and throws her into the ring posts before she and Kairi lay Rhea out. Medical staff have to check on Iyo Sky in the ring while officials check on Rhea.

"Dirty" Dominik Mysterio retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Rusev. During the match, Dominik tries to retreat with both of his titles, but Rusev throws him back into the ring. Rusev grabs the AAA Mega Championship, but when the referee takes it away, Dominik hits Rusev with the Intercontinental Championship and plays possum only for the referee to see what is going on. As the referee returns the other championship, Dominik grabs the referee from behind as Rusev goes after him, then kicks low and wins with an inside cradle.

In backstage footage from earlier today, General Manager Adam Pearce meets with LA Knight, who wants his World title shot when The New Day shows up angry that the Mexican Destroyer has not been banned while demanding a tag team title shot. This leads to LA Knight taking offense to being interrupted, especially when Kofi says that a world champion is talking, and LA Knight says Kofi will never be a world champion again while he is a world champion in waiting before challenging Kofi to a match tonight.

We see part one of a series of video packages chronicling the history between "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes and Seth "Freakin'" Rollins.

Backstage, Bayley runs into Lyra Valkyria and thanks her for the help, but Lyra says she is tired of the mind games. Bayley admits she has gone through a lot since WrestleMania, but Lyra says she cannot give Bayley any more second chances and that she is on his own.

Raquel Rodriguez beats Bayley after Roxanne rakes Bayley's eyes from the outside as Bayley has Raquel in a Figure Four Leg Lock. After the match, Roxanne attacks Bayley, then Lyra Valkyria shows up and fights both Roxanne and Raquel, despite being hesitant at first. The numbers game catches up to Lyra just before Bayley loses it and gives Raquel a beatdown. Raquel and Roxanne are forced to retreat, and Lyra wants nothing to do with Bayley, who suddenly helps Lyra up. Lyra has no idea what to make of this.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso meets with "Main Event" Jey Uso, but wants to know why Jey did not help him or LA Knight. Jey says helping LA Knight gets them nowhere, then asks Jimmy why he is helping LA Knight. Jey says that if it were not for LA Knight, he would be World Heavyweight Champion by now, and that Jimmy does not get it. He then tells Jey to forget LA Knight and that they will handle The Vision (Bron Breakker and "Big" Bronson Reed) tonight.

Backstage, Kairi Sane meets with Iyo Sky as she is tended to by medical and tells her they can still be a family, and that it is not too late. Kairi leaves crying, but not before leaving a photo of Iyo and The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane).

LA Knight beats Kofi Kingston despite the interference from Xavier Woods on the ring apron.

Backstage, Maxxine Dupri is talking with Akira Tozawa when Becky Lynch shows up and calls Maxxine a failure. Maxxine mentions everyone calling Becky the best of all time except for AJ Lee, and when Akira Tozawa chuckles, Becky punches him in the face. Maxxine tells Becky to leave Tozawa out of this, as he has nothing to do with this, then checks on Tozawa after Becky leaves only to be beaten down from behind by Becky. Seth "Freakin'" Rollins catches up with Becky while looking at his watch, and after a brief chat, Rollins says that that he has to do what he has to do tonight on his own.

Seth "Freakin'" Rollins heads to the ring. Seth talks about how "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes has three wins over him, yet says it does not bother him because it does not matter. He says those matches were in the past and that those versions of him and Cody trying to reach the top do not matter. He says that only Crown Jewel matters, as they are both at the top and they are going one-on-one with the winner receiving not just the Men's Crown Jewel Championship but the ability to decide the next ten to twenty years of the industry. He says there are some people at home who want Cody to win, and says that those people have lost their minds and that he is the one to lead the industry into the future. Rollins says he has done everything right and stayed in WWE when things got tough, brought WWE into its golden age and taken Bron Breakker and "Big" Bronson Reed under his wing and gave them the knowledge to secure their place at the top. He says he has done it all and sacrificed it all to get rid of cancers like Roman Reigns and CM Punk, yet the fans still chant for Cody, who then shows up. Cody says talk of the future of the industry is a bit much, and the fans have more control of it than either of them does. He also believes that Rollins can teach Breakker and Bronson, but not control them, and that Paul Heyman - not Seth Rollins - sent them to SmackDown last week. Rollins says all decisions run through him and that he sent them to SmackDown because Cody did not get the message, and Cody takes this as Rollins allowing Heyman to announce for Brock Lesnar. Rollins insists that every decision runs through him, and the fans chant "No, it doesn't!" to Rollins' chagrin, with an angry Rollins stating that he is why the fans are here. Cody says everyone is trying here and that the fans are just having fun, then says it should just be about both world champions in a match for the Men's Crown Jewel Championship. Cody asks where the both of them will be in twenty years, then talks about their history at WrestleMania 40 and says that he thought Rollins was his friend, but Rollins tells Cody to shut up. Rollins says that they were never friends and calls WrestleMania 40 "a means to an end" and Cody "the lesser of two evils." He says they will never be friends and that he will cleanse the timeline, stating that everything before Crown Jewel is dead. He then says that after Crown Jewel, he will write a new future, and he will be the one to lead it.

Backstage, Iyo Sky is looking at Kairi Sane's photo from earlier when Rhea Ripley checks on her. Iyo tells Rhea she was right about Asuka and that at Crown Jewel, they will take on The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Rhea says she wants Asuka's head more than anyone, but she wants to know if Iyo Sky is up to this, even after she saw her talking to Kairi Sane earlier. Iyo tells Rhea she can trust her, as her family is lost and she cannot go back to them. Rhea accepts the challenge.

Before the next match, Dragon Lee says it is an honor to share the ring with "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles as part of a time and says that together, they are unstoppable, and talks about how became #1 contender for the AAA Mega Championship. He tells "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio that he is coming for him. Styles agrees with Dragon Lee and hopes he kicks Dominik's teeth in, then says that thanks to the fans, he has a match against John Cena at Crown Jewel. He thanks the fans for giving him the opportunity to beat up John Cena, but tonight, they kick Los Americanos' asses.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Dragon Lee beat Los Americanos (Rayo and Bravo).

Backstage, Jackie Redmond interviews Stephanie Vaquer. Stephanie says she is ready for anyone and looks forward to facing Tiffany Stratton and becoming Women's Crown Jewel Champion. Tiffany shows up and says she respects Stephanie, but she has been champion for over eight months, and she will become Crown Jewel Champion. Stephanie tells Tiffany her time is over, but Tiffany tells Stephanie she will have to get used to coming in second.

Backstage, Seth "Freakin'" Rollins meets with the rest of The Vision (Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, "Big" Bronson Reed), and Rollins says "I have to be here. I have to."

The Usos (Jimmy and "Main Event" Jey Uso) beat The Vision (Bron Breakker and "Big" Bronson Reed) in a tornado tag match after Roman Reigns suddenly shows up with a metal folding chair and goes to town on The Vision. After the match, Roman goes back to town on Breakker, who soon falls out of the ring. Roman then gets Jey psyched up and tells him that this is his time while Jimmy watches nearby.
