Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 8, 2026

Jaida Parker retains the NXT Women's Championship against Kelani Jordan. After the match, Wren Sinclair attacks Kelani Jordan and lays out the referee in the process. She then finds a shinai underneath the ring and smashes Kelani with it until officials rush in to restore order.

In backstage footage from yesterday, Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno meet with General Manager Robert Stone, wanting a match with The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) after they attacked them last week. Stone makes the match official.

We hear from Myles Borne, who wonders if he made a mistake doing what he did to Tavion Heights and feels that he may have read the situation wrong and owes Tavion an apology. Meanwhile, Tavion Heights is watching Myles Borne's message on his phone along with Hank Walker and Tank Ledger. Tavion says that his friendship with Myles will have to wait, as he has a North American Championship match tonight.

The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) beat Noam Dar and Romeo Moreno.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Birthright (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace) are met by William Regal and Fit Finley, who want Birthright to step up if they want to be taken seriously. Regal says that he has history with Zilla Fatu's father Umaga, and sends Charlie Dempsey to take care of Zilla Fatu tonight.

Backstage, General Manager Robert Stone catches up with Wren Sinclair and suspends her for her recent actions.

Charlie Dempsey is in the ring. He says that enough is enough after keeping his head down for six years, and says that even though he has always been substance over style and action over words, he can say he has never sold out. He says that when Birthright (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace) came together, he could not pass up the opportunity, as they wanted to mold wrestling into what it was meant to be. Dempsey sees Birthright as a new start and a means of proving he is the best grappler in the company, but he has been made to look like a fool. Dempsey sees Birthright as a new start and a means of proving he is the best grappler in the company, but he has been made to look like a fool. He says he is going to force NXT to take him seriously after NXT turns its back on real wrestlers while hiring former football players, and says that those who deserve it should come and take it and that that nobody can step up to Birthright, especially Zilla Fatu. He offers Zilla Fatu a spot in Birthright again, saying that last week was a start on the wrong foot, and that Zilla does not need to stand in his father's shadow before telling him that the offer is still on the table. Zilla Fatu shows up and says he likes what Charlie is saying and that the majority of it is true, then says that while he appreciates the invitation, he is "The Main One." Zilla refuses the offer again, then Birthright shows up and surrounds Zilla. Zilla gets the upper hand, but Lexis King hits Zilla in the back with a chair after Zilla is slapped in the face by Arianna. Birthright then puts Zilla through the announce table. Dempsey then rips the shirt off Zilla's back and raises it up.

In this week's NXT Spotlight, we hear from Naraku, who says that questioning the mist is leading Shiloh Hill down a path of darkness. He tells Shiloh to stop all of this now, or else he will experience every color of mist and every effect.

Backstage, Saquon Shugars tells Mason Rook and Tony D'Angelo that he has everything figured out. D'Angelo is more focused on getting back the NXT Championship, while Mason rook wants everyone on the same page. Tristan Angels shows up and says Rook should not even be here at all and that he would fit in the main event tonight, but Saquon reminds Tristan that he could not get his first singles win against Zilla Fatu. Tristan says that he at least has the bollocks to face Zilla Fatu while Saquon is nothing more than a sheep.

Jackson Drake retains the NXT North American Championship against Tavion Heights despite Drake's left foot being injured and targeted by Tavion during the match. After the match, Myles Borne is spotted in the crowd, and Tavion notices him.

Backstage, EK Prosper, Keanu Carver and Cruz Montana meet before their match, and Montana says that the three of them need to be on the same page so that they can all throw hands. General Manager Robert Stone shows up, and Keanu Carver's mood changes, with Carver saying that he is looking forward to tonight.

Zaria heads to the ring. Zaria talks about how there was always someone or something in her way of championship gold, including Sol Ruca, and how she dumped "the dead weight" of Sol Ruca seven months ago and went on to beat everyone's favorites. She says that this continued at Heatwave where she put to bed every remaining doubt about who she was when she carried two titles and unified them, and now the Women's Speed Championship is in the past while she continues to be Women's North American Champion. Izzi Dame shows up and questions exactly how dominant Zaria is, then says that Zaria is presenting a facade that she can see right through and is now everything that she hated. Izzi says there is more to Zaria than the facepaint and that she will expose who the real Zaria is, then Thea Hail suddenly shows up and says everyone does not care what Zaria says and that that she will get the women's North American Championship again. Izzi says this is boring and leaves this between Zaria and . Zaria says that Thea would not be here if it were not for Jaida Parker telling her what to do, and that Thea will never be champion again because someone does the thinking for her. Thea says she has at least a real friend, but Zaria says that even Jaida will leave her like everyone else. Thea says she will get over that when Zaria gets over Sol Ruca, and when Zaria headbutts Thea, Thea fights back and makes Zaria tap.

Backstage, Hank Walker and Tank Ledger meet with Myles Borne. Myles says he will apologize to Tavion Heights face-to-face next week.

Backstage, Birthright (Lexis King, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Uriah Connors, Charlie Dempsey, Arianna Grace) meets with William Regal and Fit Finley with a piece of Zilla Fatu in the form of Zilla's shirt. Regal and Finley are pleased when The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, Jackson Drake, Myka Lockwood) show up and brag, and Regal tells Jackson Drake not to get comfortable, as Birthright is on the hunt. Dorian Van Dux and "Super" Sean Legacy show up wanting the NXT tag titles, as do The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) and DarkState (Cutler James and Osiris Griffin). This leads to a big backstage quarrel.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Kali Armstrong, who takes offense to Thea Hail jumping the line to the NXT Women's North American Championship, saying that Thea is only doing this because Jaida Parker told her to and that Thea cannot think for herself. Lizzy Rain shows up and says that if Kali feels worthy enough of a title shot, then she should take it like she took her interview time. Officials have to restore order.

Grayson Waller guests on commentary for the next match.

Tony D'Angelo, Mason Rook and Saquon Shugars beat Cruz Montana, EK Prosper and Keanu Carver in a six-man tag match after Mason Rook tags himself in and uses Tony D'Angelo as part of a cannonball senton on EK Prosper. D'Angelo, Mason and Saquon will face each other in an NXT Championship Triple Threat #1 Contender's Match next week. After the match, Keanu Carver and Cruz Montana brawl on the stage as officials try to restore order.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for August 4, 2026

Jaida Parker and Thea Hail beat Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic. After the match, Nattie, Karmen and Nikkita go on the attack, but Nattie inadvertently punches out Nikkita when Thea Hail ducks a punch from her. This allows Thea and Jaida to clean house.

Backstage, Myles Borne and Tavion Heights are locked in for their tag team title match.

Tony D'Angelo heads to the ring. D'Angelo mentions Grayson Waller's promo from the start of last week's show and how it disrespected everyone, and that Grayson will not use his title as a boomerang to get himself what he thinks he is owed. He says he will not let Grayson use him as a stepping stone and get what he wants at his expense, but before he can move on to other business, Grayson Waller shows up and interrupts. Grayson is on the balcony as he states that he is "the money fight" and that Grayson and the NXT Championship go through him. D'Angelo says Grayson is not in the ring with him because he is a bitch, then mentions how they were partners back in WarGames. He talks about how Grayson Waller was the only person on their team without a singles title history, then says Grayson is only in NXT to make himself relevant and win the title, but unfortunately for Grayson, he is champion. Grayson says the men's roster is more relevant than ever thanks to him, then says that D'Angelo lost his balls along with his mafia family. As Grayson continues to speak, Cruz Montana - who D'Angelo called out earlier to continue last week's conversation before Grayson interrupted - shows up. Montana says that D'Angelo did not call Grayson out here, but he might as well "give [Grayson] this work." He gives Grayson credit where credit is due for rattling cages, then says he put in the work instead of insulting people and proved over time that he is who he says he is. He says Grayson has a chip on his shoulder because his comfortable life is not so comfortable, while he has one because he has no other option but to survive. He hopes Grayson never meets the man in the mirror he went to war with. Montana says the difference between him and Grayson is that he spent years proving he belonged while Grayson spent years proving people should notice him. Grayson says Montana's opinion does not matter, and that he is embracing his demons. Montana tells Grayson that he only fights for himself and that it will not get him anywhere, and when he has people who depend on him and hold him accountable, that will make him "the man." D'Angelo says that he does not care about either man's motivations and know they want his title, then tells them to meet with General Manager Robert Stone to make a match over who faces him for it.

Backstage, Wren Sinclair is focused on her and Kendal Grey's matches. Kendal Grey says they wanted this pressure, then tells Wren that she is up next and that she needs to lock in.

Zaria vs. Wren Sinclair for the WWE Women's Speed Championship ends in a time limit draw. Wren Sinclair retains the WWE Women's Speed Championship. After the match, Zaria attacks Wren Sinclair and hits her with an F-5.

Bronco Nima meets with Lucien Price, saying he owes him after taking his eyes off what mattered most last week. Lucien says Bronco should do what he has to do, and says he should get his back-up plan as Birthright (Lexis King, Uriah Connors, Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo, Arianna Grace) show up trying to drive a wedge between them again. This leads to a challenge to a one-on-one match, and Lucien accepts, saying he has his back-up plan.

Backstage, Kelani Jordan meets with Grayson Waller, saying that she will win the NXT Women's Championship on the very first attempt. Mason Rook shows up and calls out Grayson Waller for calling him soft, saying he can do things in the ring Grayson cannot. As Grayson tells Mason Rook he does not know sacrifice, Mason is attacked from behind by Kam Hendrix, and referees show up to stop the ensuing brawl.

Myles Borne and Tavion Heights beat The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes) to become the NXT Tag Team Champions after Jackson Drake tries to get involved in the match, which only gets him and Myka Lockwood ejected from ringside.

Backstage, Myka Lockwood gets another look at Keanu Carver as a furious Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, Ricky Smokes, Jackson Drake, Myka Lockwood) head to the back.

Backstage, Izzi Dame and Niko Vance meet with Lizzy Rain. Izzi says their match would have went differently if not for Shawn Spears, but Lizzy feels differently. Shawn Spears shows up and says that he has gotten with Robert Stone and that next week it will be Izzi and Niko vs. him and Lizzy. Niko tells Shawn to take his own advice and quit while he is head. Lizzy makes it clear she does not trust him, and that if the match goes south, it will be three-on-one really quickly. Lizzy leaves, and Shawn says "Smart girl."

Keanu Carver beats EK Prosper with a small package.

Backstage, Osiris Griffin and Cutler James are worried about Dion Lennox, who is upset that DarkState (Lennox, James, Griffin) is not as untouchable as they used to be and wants it to be untouchable again. He says that Saquon Shugars will not walk away from them again.

We look back on Kendal Grey winning the NXT Women's Championship at The Great American Bash in this week's NXT Focus.

We hear from Shiloh Hill, who says that he injured his maxilla in his last match with Tristan Angel and that he is now injured, and that he will be out for a while. He also mentions research he did on Kali Armstrong's college track career, the Intercontinental Championship tournament in 1979, and the actual history of the green mist in professional wrestling.

WWE acknowledges the passing of WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk Jr. RIP Dory Funk Jr. (1941 - 2026)

As General Manager Robert Stone handles a phone call with a free agent, Cruz Montana shows up and finds out he will face Grayson Waller in an NXT Championship #1 contender's match next week. Stone leaves, Tristan Angels shows up and confronts Montana for being given a chance at a championship, but Montana reminds Tristan that he was not here when he was putting in the work last year when he was still in TNA.

Kendal Grey retains the NXT Women's Championship against Lola Vice in an NXT Underground Match by submission with a triangle hold that sees Kendal bleed under the right ear after being tripped into ring steps, Lola Vice nearly knocking Kendal Grey out of the ring, and referee Adrian Butler getting knocked out by a spinning back fist by Lola Vice. Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair head to the ring. They are soon joined by Lola Vice. Kendal says she is glad that Lola wants to face her again, and Lola says that she is not done running the women's division and that "Vice City" continues to grow. Kendal says Lola became everything everyone said she could be, then ran into her. She says that Kendal was right when she said she saw a champion, but Lola saw someone who needed validation when she looked at Kendal. Kendal says she does not need validation, as the NXT Women's Championship is validation, and that she did not need years to prove she belonged here. Lola says Kendal got here fast, then wants to know how fast Kendal will fall. Lola says she knows her worth, and that Kendal is shy, weak and vulnerable. Kendal says she is honest with herself and the fans, and says that there is not a woman in the back who can match her. Lola says Kendal beat her once in a match, but not in a fight. Wren Sinclair is hesitant, and Kendal knows where Lola is going. Kendal tells Lola to think about it, as she will be exposed if she goes where she is taking her. Lola gives Kendal a week to train for an NXT Underground match, then says she will send Kendal to the mat. Kendal says she will beat Lola's ass and send her back to "shakin' it."

Backstage, Nattie (along with Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic) meets with Thea Hail about inviting her to "The Dungeon," saying she has worked wonders for Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons and that Thea can either be a legend like her or "a soft bitch" like Jaida Parker. Thea says she has no problem with Jaida; it is Nattie she does not like. Karmen tells Thea that she will reject this as she, Nikkita and Nattie leave. Thea genuinely hopes that Nattie gets her teeth punched in.

In footage from last night, Shiloh Hill meets Danhausen. Shiloh asks for Danhausen's help with Tristan Angels and mentions that Tristan smashed his tooth. Danhausen hands Shiloh a tooth, but says adhesive will cost a lot of human monies. Shiloh pays Danhausen in Bitcoin. Danhausen takes the Bitcoin payment, then tries to put it in his computer.

Jaida Parker beats Nattie by referee stoppage. As Jaida has Nattie in the Sharpshooter in the middle of the ring, Karmen Petrovic and Nikkita Lyons fight over the white towel in Nikkita's hand. All of a sudden, the towel is thrown into the ring, and Nattie looks at Nikkita and Petrovic only to see Thea Hail at ringside. An alternate camera shot of what happened at the end of the match shows that Thea Hail suddenly showed up, took the towel away, and threw it in the ring. Nattie is embarrassed.

In tonight's NXT Spotlight, we see the events from last week that have led to tonight's street fight for the NXT Championship between Naraku and Tony D'Angelo.

Myles Borne and Tavion Heights show up, and Myles Borne wants a tag team title match, saying that he will defend the North American title next week if he can get the match. Stone tells Myles that he has his tag team title match, and that he has his North American title match next week. Kam Hendrix says he will see Myles Borne next week.

Generation NXT - NXT recap for June 16, 2026

Zaria heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Zaria says that she spent so long in Sol Ruca's shadow that she forgot what the sun looked like, and after setting the women's division ablaze, she is the new Women's North American Champion. She says that she did this all of her own after being overlooked, underestimated and looked past in favor of Sol Ruca, but now, she holds a title, and the power is in her hands. She calls this a course correction, not a dream come true, that she owes nothing to anybody. Zaria then promises that her name will not be in the shadows ever again before Kelani Jordan shows up and congratulates Zaria. Kelani then gives Zaria some advice: enjoy all of this, as the people who chant that she deserves this will switch it up on her before the week is even over, and no matter what she does, it will never be good enough. She tells Zaria to hold on to the Women's North American Championship as tightly as possible, as she may never hold another title again. As Kelani talks about how she only needs one shot to beat Lola Vice and become NXT Women's Champion, Kendal Grey shows up. Kendal says she has already beaten Kelani and that Kelani will be watching her beat Lola Vice to become NXT Women's Champion, and that if Kelani ends up back in her path, she will beat her again. As Zaria complains about somebody making this about themselves, Lola Vice shows up and tells Zaria to get over Sol Ruca, then says she will beat Kendal Grey again. All four women argue, then General Manager Robert Stone shows up. All four women see themselves in a tag team match against each other coming, which Stone more or less confirms.

Dion Lennox says that Saquon was an indy wrestler who knew his way around the ring, but Osiris says Saquon made things harder than necessary. Cutler says that success by the individual is success for the group, and that Saquon forgot that and became a liability. He says that Saquon went into every situation blind and was never prepared for the consequences, and for that, he failed DarkState, and last week was the last straw. Lennox says that could have been him, and says Saquon tried to turn DarkState against him due to his own jealously and belief that he was better. He then addresses Naraku, stating that it is about time they meet face-to-face. Naraku shows up and heads to the ring, and D'Angelo tells Naraku to get straight to the point. Naraku says he wants to keep D'Angelo and his title safe, but D'Angelo does not buy it, and says he will take care of Hendrix before he takes care of him. Naraku says he will keep D'Angelo and his title safe because it is destiny that they go to war, then Kam Hendrix shows up and tells D'Angelo that he has seven days left before it is "Lights, Kam, Action" for the NXT Championship. Hendrix says that D'Angelo is running into a buzzsaw that he cannot stop, as he has beaten two former champions last week and he is about to beat a pillar of NXT next week. D'Angelo says Hendrix may be a premier athelte, but sees his title as a status symbol. D'Angelo tells Hendrix he sacrificed everything and spent five years in NXT to earn the NXT Championship, and yet he is facing someone who does not even deserve a shot at it. Joe Hendry takes the contract and signs it as Saints and Ethan squabble over it, then admits he cannot wait to see who stabs the other back between them first, as they both cannot stand seeing the other as NXT Champion and their friendship will fall apart. Hendry says Saints and Ethan cannot separate passion from desperation, and while they are desperate to be NXT Champion again, he is passionate about being NXT Champion and being in NXT in Madison Square Garden. He then says he will take that passion and defend this championship, as he will be the one to stand and deliver despite what Saints and Ethan have in store while the fans chant "We Believe." He also says that the NXT Championship should belong to him, then says he will make things right when he takes the title back. Blake then makes it clear that they are polar opposites and that she is a polished woman and the standard of NXT while Tatum looks like one of the fans. Tatum makes it clear that while there is a bad side to Blake, there is a worse side to her, and she can be the goth to Blake's glamor and the fire to Blake's hell. The Personal Concierge look forward to facing Sol Ruca and Zaria for the Knockouts tag titles, and Heather and M try to drive a wedge between Sol Ruca and Zaria, calling them "fake friends." The Personal Concierge says that they have beauty, class and health and that they will keep the Knockouts tag titles forever.

Backstage, Zaria cannot get a hold of Sol Ruca. Thea Hail shows up and mentions the state of how friends are come and go before wondering about how to become a champion again, and this leads to an argument where Zaria is irritated that she cannot win championships while Thea stumbled into one. Zaria then says she will see Thea later.

Backstage, Myles Borne runs into "All Ego" Ethan Page, who tells him that he must beat Dion Lennox by any means necessary. As Myles says it is none of Ethan's business how he wins, Ricky Saints shows up, but Myles Borne is not in the mood for him, either.

Backstage, General Manager Ava finds out that Joe Hendry is no longer medically cleared as The Vanity Project (Brad Baylor, "The Smoke Show" Ricky Smokes, Jackson Drake) show up. They say that Ava cannot prove that they attacked Hendry. Ava says that Jackson Drake has qualified for the NXT Championship Ladder Match, but if Joe Hendry gets cleared, he will be part of it, too.

Dion Lennox beats Myles Borne in an NXT Championship Ladder Match qualifier after "All Ego" Ethan Page hands one of his championships to Myles to use as a weapon only for Myles to get caught with it, allowing Lennox to get the win and qualify for the match. After the match, Ethan tells Myles that all he had to do was listen and that he will never win without his advice. Myles attacks Ethan with the North American title in response.

Backstage, Tony D'Angelo shows up in General Manager Ava's office as Ricky Saints speaks with Ava. Saints leaves, and Ava says she bailed him out because NXT needs him, as D'Angelo knows NXT better than anyone. She asks D'Angelo if he is in or out, and D'Angelo says he will mention his intentions next week. Ava then tells D'Angelo not to interfere in next week's ladder match.

Finn Balor's time in NXT is covered on NXT Origins.

Izzi Dame guests on commentary for the next match.

Thea Hail beats Zaria with a schoolkid pin after Tatum Paxley shows up to attack and chase after Izzi Dame at the announce table, distracting Zaria and giving Thea Hail the win. After the match, Zaria slaps Thea Hail's hand away, then Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley show up and get on the apron. Thea offers to help Zaria, but Zaria lays her out. Lainey and Fallon decide it is better to retreat, and step off the ring apron.

Backstage, Charlie Dempsey is impressed with Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair, but notes that they did not get the win last week. As Kendal is focused on Jacy Jayne, Stacks, Arianna Grace and Lexis King want a word with Charlie Dempsey.

Keanu Carver beats Andre Chase in an NXT Championship Ladder Match qualifer that also acts as Carver's NXT debut. After the match, Carven sends Chase's face into an exposed turnbuckle before stomping Chase's head into the ring steps. Referees and medical have to check on Chase afterwards. Shiloh Hill is fired up by Keanu Carver's action, but says that brains as well as brawn is important in the ladder match. Dion Lennox says dropping people is his specialty and that nobody will jump him in line, but Sean Legacy says he has worked to get here and has nothing to lose, and that he is willing to get crazy. Jackson Drake says that getting crazy is why Legacy will choke, and that he can be the human highlight reel after barely breaking a sweat. He then says that he will be the champion while everyone else in the match becomes a part of history.Ricky Saints shows up with a ladder and climbs up it at the entranceway before stating the view from the top is great and that while he sees a lot of potential, they are seeds that have not sprouted yet while he is the rose that bloomed in NXT's concrete jungle. Generation NXT - NXT recap for September 30, 2025

Ricky Saints heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Ricky says that the reality he said would happen in February is now, and while there were empty and doubtful nights as well as people asking if he could win the NXT Championship, he bet on himself and became champion. He says that the NXT Championship is absolute proof that one should only worry about one's self, then Jacy Jayne suddenly shows up. Jacy congratulates Saints, then tells him that they have bigger things to worry about such as Total Nonstop Action's invasion. General Manager Ava shows up and agrees, and names them both team captains for NXT. She says that because of this, they are tasked with picking the best members for their team, and asks them to put aside their pride to do just that before TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella shows up. Santino says he will let his captains pick their team members as well, but admits he does not trust Trick William and names Mike Santana the captain of TNA's men's team. Santana shows up, then says he does trust someone from NXT to be a team captain, and picks Kelani Jordan to be captain of TNA's women's team. Kelani Jordan then shows up. Ava says she needs both teams finalized by the end of the night, and Santino says this is more of a showdown than an invasion, and that there will be a summit between both companies. Jacy Jayne takes exception to Kelani being the captain of TNA's women's team. Saints says that he and Jacy should be more concerned about their own teams and that he will see Santana at the end of the night.

Backstage, Je'Von Evans runs into Leon Slater. Je'Von says their X Division Championship match is "the youngest dream match in history" before The Culling (Shawn Spears, Niko Vance, Izzi Dame, Tatum Paxley) shows up and chides Je'Von for being friends with the enemy. Je'Von says he and Slater will see who is the best at Bound For Glory, and if they are on opposite teams at Invasion, so be it. This leads to Shawn Spears challenging Je'Von and Slater to a tag team match, which both men simultaneously accept. Je'Von and Slater leave, then Lyra Valkyria shows up after Je'Von and Slater leave, and hands Tatum Paxley a Lyra Valkyria doll. The rest of The Culling take exception to this as Tatum is delighted.

Jaida Parker beats Lash Legend.

Backstage, Ricky Saints is being congratulated in the locker room when Trick Williams shows up wanting to be "co-captain." Ricky Saints that Je'Von is on the team, then says that there are two spots left, and that Myles Borne is all in for this and has one of the spots. When Trick says he has the power and size, Jasper Troy steps up, and Trick Williams puts Josh Briggs up for consideration. Starks says there is not much choice when Je'Von does not want to team with Josh Briggs, and Je'Von leaves. Trick proposes that Myles Borne and Josh Briggs face each other for one of the spots, to which Saints agrees to.

"All Ego" Ethan Page heads to the ring. Ethan brags about retaining against Tavion Heights at No Mercy before addressing El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr.'s challenge, saying that he only has a doctorate in pissing him off before the man himself seemingly shows up at the arena. We only see that person's foot, though, and instead of El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr., Mustafa Ali shows up in NXT for the first time in two years. Mustafa tells Ethan that he has no issue with anything he has said, yet he has an issue with the NXT North American Championship. Ethan says he has no issue as well as no business with Mustafa. Mustafa says Ethan does not owe him anything, but NXT does, and that he had a shot at the title before he was released two years ago on this very day and that the opportunity never came, which he is bitter about as he is still waiting. Ethan calls this "a sob story" and tells him to pick someone with the ears to want to hear it, as he is not the guy. Mustafa says he will not cry; instead, he will politick for it, as he has spoken to General Manager Ava and Total Nonstop Action Director of Authority Santino Marella. Next week at Showdown (formerly called "Invasion"), he gets his title shot, and Ethan will have no choice but to defend the North American Championship against him. Ethan gets angry and says that Mustafa is just trying to claim what he never could, and that he will disappoint him and wish him the best in his future endeavors. Both men brawl, and Mustafa lands a drop kick on Ethan before Ethan retreats.

Backstage, Jacy Jayne shows up in the women's locker room. She declares Jaida Parker a strong candidate for the team, then picks Sol Ruca, stating that she defended the Women's Speed title at No Mercy successfully and that she needs winners. Lola Vice asks to be on the team and states that she is willing to put differences aside, but Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid show up wanting a spot on the team. Everyone argues, and Jacy puts Fallon and Lola in a match to see who gets on the team.

We hear from The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy), who states that although they do not know who their opponents in DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin) are, there will be no one else at ringside, which promises a fair fight. Matt says they must delete DarkState and win the NXT Tag Team Championships to prove that they are the best of all time.

Myles Borne beats Josh Briggs to earn a spot in the NXT men's team. During the match, Josh Briggs rips off the chain around his neck to use it as a weapon only to get stopped by Matt Cardona, which causes the referee to take the chain away. Borne hits Briggs with a drop kick followed by Borne Again for the win and the spot. The men's team consists of Ricky Saints as captain with Trick Williams, Myles Borne and Je'Von Evans as the other three members.

Backstage, Jordynne Grace tells Kelani Jordan that there is a lot of history to the Total Nonstop Action Knockouts World Championship and to carry the title well, then says she does not trust Jacy Jayne. Kelani brings up the fact that Jordynne's past is in TNA, but her present is in NXT. Jordynne mentions Joe Hendry's name as she talks about where she stands, and as Joe Hendry shows up and explains things, Mike Santana shows up and says that Hendry and Jordynne both have one foot in and one foot out. Kelani says she is closing to completing her team, but Santana says he wants her to meet the rest of the TNA locker room. Jordynne and Hendry, both knowing that they will not be picked for either team, agree that they need to be part of Showdown somehow.

Lola Vice beats Fallon Henley to earn a spot on the NXT women's team.

We hear from DarkState (Dion Lennox, Cutler James, Saquon Shugars, Osiris Griffin). They say that what they started does not stop for anyone and that they forced NXT's hand, and that they are here to be the moment. Osiris then says that he and Lennox took the NXT tag titles and will take the Total Nonstop Action tag team titles.

Backstage, Jacy Jayne apologizes to Fallon Henley, stating she should not have put her in a match with Lola Vice when Lainey Reid shows up and tells Jacy not to be too hard on herself. Fallon wants to know what her deal is with them, then Lainey then reveals that she was the hooded woman who helped Jacy retain at No Mercy before admitting that she also attacked Jazmyn Nyx, stating that she never belonged in Fatal Influence (Jacy and Fallon).

Je'Von Evans and Leon Slater beat The Culling (Shawn Spears and Niko Vance). After the match, it is revealed that the entire Total Nonstop Acton locker room has made its way to the arena on a Cybertruck. The NXT locker room soon shows up, and everyone confronts each other. After the commercial break, the NXT and TNA locker rooms surround the ring. General Manager Ava runs down the card for Showdown, then Trick Williams tries to make an announcement as "co-captain" only for Ricky Saints to tell Trick he is riding shotgun. Saints picks Trick, Myles Borne and Je'Von Evans for his team, while Mike Santana picks Frankie Kazarian, Moose and Leon Slater for his team. Jacy Jayne tells Kelani Jordan that when she was Knockotus Champion, she still represented NXT, and as far as she is concerned, she is "a two-timing traitor." Jacy then picks Sol Ruca, Jaida Parker and Lola Vice for her team, while Kelani - who looks forward to shutting Jacy up -picks The IInspiration (Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee) and Mara Sadé (who she almost calls Jakara Jackson to mess with everyone). Mike Santana says that TNA is winning Showdown just like he is winning the TNA World Championship and bringing it back where it belongs, then punches Trick Williams and starts a massive brawl that ends the show. As the brawl goes on, Shawn Michaels watches from the bottom of the ramp as everybody goes at it.
