Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 8, 2025

"Main Event" Jey Uso heads to the ring from the crowd to start tonight's show. Jimmy Uso joins him halfway. Jey calls out The Vision (Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, Bron Breakker, "Big" Bronson Reed), saying that they messed up. Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker show up, and Breakker asks Jimmy is he is lost before stating that The Vision runs Raw. Breakker then gets angry thinking about what Roman Reigns did to Paul Heyman to the point that Bronson Reed holds him back and demands that The Usos (Jimmy and "Main Event" Jey Uso) acknowledge their "Tribal Thief." Bronson says that Jimmy was not a factor in Seth Rollins' vision on SmackDown, then brings up Roman Reigns when the crowd chants for him. Jimmy tells Bronson to keep Roman's name out of his mouth before stating that The Usos are the superior team. The two of them make fun of Paul Heyman and the fact that Breakker and Bronson are taking orders from him before announcing that they have a tag team match at Wrestlepalooza. Jey then says they can go right now, but Bronson says they can wait. All of a sudden, LA Knight suddenly rushes out in street clothes to attack Bronson and Breakker to behind only to be overpowered. This allows The Usos to hit Breakker and Bronson with simultaneous tope suicidas before Jey and LA Knight take turns punching Bronson. Bronson nearly shoves Knight into Jey and squashes Jey, but Knight gets the upper hand.

Raw has a special start time of 7 PM Eastern/4 PM Pacific next week.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews LA Knight after Knight argues with General Manager Adam Pearce. Knight says he wants what is his, then says he did not throw "Big" Bronson Reed into "Main Event" Jey Uso on purpose and that he could have taken Jey out himself if he wanted to. In the meantime, he wants a piece of Bronson Reed.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles beats El Grande Americano. During the match, a second El Grande Americano shows up and distracts AJ Styles, allowing El Grande Americano to throw Styles into the ring steps so hard that Styles trips and tumbles into the barricade. Near the end of the match, the second El Grande Americano gets on the ring apron, but gets taken down promptly by Dragon Lee. El Grande Americano then goes for a schoolkid pin, but Styles reverses it into the Styles Clash for the win.

Backstage, General Manager Adam Pearce is meeting with Iyo Sky when Nikki Bella wants an update on the Women's World Championship situation. The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) show up and tell Nikki to stay away, and as Nikki says that Asuka does not have to like her but still has to respect her. Asuka threatens to beat the respect out of Nikki tonight.

We see a vignette for AJ Lee.

Raquel Rodriguez beats Lyra Valkyria after yanking Lyra off the top rope for the Tejana Bomb.

Backstage, The War Raiders (Ivar and Eric) tell Penta that they have his back, then Penta meets with General Manager Adam Pearce regarding a title shot. Suddenly, Rusev shows up and demands that Pearce follow the plan so that he becomes champion. Penta sees Rusev as an obstacle, and this leads to Pearce putting them both in a match tonight.

Backstage, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles thanks Dragon Lee for having his back when Jimmy Uso shows up looking for "Main Event" Jey Uso. Jimmy soon finds Jey, who is about to leave when Jimmy says they have a play to run regarding LA Knight vs. "Big" Bronson Reed. Jey wants nothing to do with it, but Jimmy says The Vision (Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, Bron Breakker, "Big" Bronson Reed) is their problem. Jey does not want to help LA Knight, saying it will not get them anywhere, and says that either everyone acknowledges them or they will smash them all. Jimmy says that Jey is sounding more like Roman Reigns right now, but Jey says that maybe sounding like himself is not worth it as he walks out.

AJ Lee heads to the ring. She is wearing the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship on the way there, even though Becky Lynch is still the champion. AJ Lee re-introduces herself for "those of you who weren't there ten years ago when your parents got excited last week" and as "your favorite's wrestler's favorite wrestler." She mentions her retirement ten years ago, saying she felt she had accomplished everything she was able to in wrestling and thought she would never set foot in a wrestling again, and went on a journey to accomplish new goals and improve her mental health. She also says that she was not healthy and that she needed to get right, and that she managed to turn all of her mental chaos into a superpower. She says that it is a fight, but the fight is worth it as well as those who do the fighting. AJ says she was doing all right for a long time until she was watching Raw, and says it is one thing to see CM Punk fighting Drew McIntyre or Seth Rollins or John Cena, but another thing to see him in the ring with Becky Lynch. She says she wanted to like Becky as they had so much in common and that there was a world where they could have been friends, but she had to berate and put her hands on Punk. Becky shows up and calls CM Punk "[AJ's] stank-ass husband" and says she and AJ are nothing alike, then says that she is the greatest of all time and that AJ does not deserve to even touch the WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship. AJ Lee messes with Becky Lynch briefly before laying the title on the mat and daring Becky to come and get it. The fans chant "Chicken" when Becky hesitates, then wants to know where CM Punk is, accusing him of hiding behind AJ Lee. She says that AJ Lee had nothing to do with Rollins' vision and then decides to bring out Rollins to show what a real champion looks like. Rollins shows up and asks AJ to give the Women's Intercontinental Championship back so they can all leave "this dump of a city." AJ gives them the option of Becky entering the ring and risk receiving a black eye, or she can give her the title after she and Rollins agree to a tag match against her and CM Punk. Rollins says that he calls the shot, not AJ, as he enters the ring so he can hand the Women's Intercontinental Championship back to Becky. AJ soon stands between Rollins and the title and stands in his way. As Rollins says the Women's Intercontinental Championship does not belong to AJ, Punk shows up and moves past Becky to nearly put Rollins in the GTS. Seth angrily agrees to the match for Wrestlepalooza, then AJ throws the Women's Intercontinental Championship at Becky.

We hear from Bayley, who says that she does not know what the next step is for her and that all she knows is that the last person she wanted to hurt with Lyra Valkyria. She says that those they hurt before, even if they deserved it, found it in their hearts to forgive her, but she does not know who Lyra can do that when she cannot even forgive herself. Bayley's two sides start arguing again, then Bayley says that she will make it right.

Rusev beats Penta. During the match, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and Grayson Waller show up, and Penta is able to take them all down with a tope suicida. Shortly after this, Woods goes after Penta on the apron only to be kicked down from the top rope. Penta then leaps into a Matchka Kick, and Rusev gets the win.

Backstage, Jimmy Uso meets with LA Knight. Knight says he has tried to do "the teamwork thing" only to get superkicked in the mouth and that there is no "we," and that he will handle "Big" Bronson Reed on his own.

Asuka beats Nikki Bella with the Asuka Lock.

Backstage at The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, JD McDonagh, Roxanne Perez, Raquel Rodriguez) clubhouse, Finn Balor congratulates Raquel Rodriguez for winning tonight, then says that Roxanne Perez will beat Lyra Valkyria next week. "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio shows up, and when Finn Balor says that nobody wants to help without expecting something in return, Dominik gets frustrated and leaves. Roxanne leaves to talk to Dominik.

Backstage, Nikki Bella runs into The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane). Asuka wants to know what happened to Nikki, and Kairi Sane has to stand between them when Nikki shoves Asuka. Rhea Ripley soon shows up, and Asuka soon walks away.

"Big" Bronson Reed beats LA Knight with the Jagged Edge following the distraction from Bron Breakker. After the match, Bron Breakker attacks LA Knight, then Jimmy Uso shows up and fights both Breakker and Bronson off only to get Speared. "Main Event" Jey Uso then shows up and fends Breakker and Bronson off, but he too gets Speared. Breakker stacks both Jimmy and Jey together for a Tsunami, but LA Knight grabs a metal folding chair and hits Bronson in the back with it. Bronson and Breakker retreat, then Knight asks Jey if they are good before helping Jimmy up. Jey Uso then hits LA Knight with a Spear and tells Jimmy Uso that they are even to end the show.

It is soon revealed that he has not come alone and taht he has followers in yellow hoodies, and they all yell "Violence!" in unison along with Deaner as Eric Young stretches out his arms.

Chelsea Green beats Taya Valkyrie. During the match, "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo trips Taya on the outside, and Rosemary runs out and makes Deonna pay for it. The referee is distracted by this, and this allows Chelsea to poke Taya in the eyes, shove her into Jessicka when Jessicka gets on the ring apron and hit the I'm Prettier for the win.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says Masha Slamovich is really good, but she psyches her opponents out before the match in order to win. She says that Masha's intimidation skills are as good as her wrestling, but they will not work on her and she will not get into her head before Bound For Glory. She then enters her dressing room and find numerous pictures of herself on the wall. Within the numerous photos of Jordynne on the wall is a message in big red letters: "Masha's Gonna Kill You."

Cole stares down Schiavone and tells him that if he looks at Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. the wrong way, he will slap the glasses off his face and whup his ass, then tells him to get out of the ring. Schiavone reluctantly leaves the ring, then Cole says AEW is the best wrestling company in the world because of everyone from The Elite down to the fans who paid a ticket to be here. "The Miracle" Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis-Bennett show up to start the show. Bennett says his mom once told him not to bite the hand that feeds him, and says he should be World champ right now. He then says that he is not, and that it is all because of Moose. He says he and Moose had a perfectly good relationship, but Moose ruined it by listening to the fans and letting his ego get the best of him. He brought Moose into TNA and paid him out of his own pocket, and now he has fired him. With Moose gone, he can focus on the World title with nobody to stop him - not Dixie Carter, Billy Corgan or Moose. Dixie Carter shows up, and tells Bennett to finish up as the people are here for wrestling, not to hear him talk. Bennett says Maria will be running this company and that he will be World champ, and there's nothing Dixie can do about it. Dixie tells Bennett she has made a decision that benefits the company, and it involves Bennett: Bennett is not in the main event for Bound For Glory, and instead, he will be facing Moose that night. Moose shows up wearing an Impact Wrestling tanktop, signifying his status as an official member of the TNA roster. Moose tries to get his hands on Bennett, but Bennett and Maria retreat.

When "The Miracle" Mike Bennett tells Dixie Carter that he refuses to fight Moose at Bound For Glory, Dixie tells him that she has no problem breaching his contract. Also, Dixie Carter tells Maria Kanellis-Bennett that as long as Maria holds the Knockouts title, she cannot partake in any decision making and cannot be the leader of the Knockouts Division, and that she has to defend the Knockouts title at Bound For Glory with her opponent that night being announced next week.

Gail Kim and Jade beats Sienna and Allie after Sienna tackes Allie for accidentally hitting her with a double axe handle. Gail Kim and Jade are amazed by the turn of events.

Jeremy Borash interviews Billy Corgan, who has a big announcement coming up. He says his announcement will have an effect on the business.

Matt Hardy prepares the troops by getting them in touch with their primal instincts...by talking to a giraffe named George Washington, sparring with a kangaroo named Smokin' Joe Frazier, communicating with "spot" monkeys named after X Division competitors, and meeting a tiger named Genghis Khan.

Billy Corgan is in the ring. He announces that the King of the Mountain Championship is retired and the Impact Grand Championship is born. He says that this title will affect TNA for years to come, and that it will be fought for in an eight-man single elimination tournament. Drew Galloway shows up, and says that he should be the first person holding it. Billy tells Galloway that the Grand Championship is about a brand new type of match: three rounds, three minutes each with a 10 point must system and can be ended by pinfall, submission or judge's decision. Galloway tells Billy that he is the business, but Aron Rex shows up and says the fans are the business and that this all started over a championship. He plans to send Galloway back to Scotland via medical helicopter, but Billy stops the both of them and tells Aron Rex he will have his debut match in the tournament. He also says that Galloway will be in the tournament, and his match is next.

Drew Galloway beats Braxton Sutter by submission with the Iron Maiden to move on to the next round of the Impact Grand Championship tournament.

Rockstar Spud attacks Braxton Sutter during the break.

A guy in a truck finds out the hard way that it's not a good idea to pick up Rosemary. Decay (Rosemary, Abyss, Crazzy Steve) steal his truck and head to Cameron, North Carolina.

We see a press conference from earlier today for the World title match at Bound For Glory between Ethan Carter III and Lashley. Billy Corgan hypes up the match and says that there will be great changes at TNA under his leadership, but great main events will always be around and that this one will be one for the ages. Ethan Carter III calls Lashley a bully, an intimidator and a coward, and says there have been a lot of cowardly moves during his title reign, and tells him that he is coming to fight and that this dance will come to an end at Bound For Glory. Lashley says TNA is under fire from multiple people, and says it's time to eliminate the weak as the locker room is full of weaklings. He says he can defend the cpmpany, and wants to know if EC3 can do the same. EC3 says he is the guy they call to take down the most dominant World champ, and he promises to become a three-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Lashley says EC3 is all hype while he is a bodybuilder, and that everyone who told him they would beat him ended up getting crushed and that EC3 is no different. He plans to be bigger and better in preparation to crush EC3 at Bound For Glory. EC3 and Lashley stare down at the end of the press conference, but EC3 plays with Lashley's collar and the two men brawl in response.

We see the continuation of the brawl between Lashley and Ethan Carter III at the press conference.

We heat from Jesse Godderz We hear from Jessie Godderz as part of the TNA Impact Grand Championship Tournament.

Eli Drake beats Jessie Godderz by pinfall to move on to the next round of the Impact Grand Championship tournament.

Aron Rex tells Drew Galloway that he's not thinking in teams of what he's thinking of doing to him.

"Broken" Matt Hardy, Brother Nero, Reby Sky and Senor Benjamin beat Decay (Rosemary, Abyss, Crazzy Steve) at their own game, but Brother Nero is taken down by Janice and Senor Benjamin is kidnapped by Decay. (At one point, Joseph Park shows up looking for Abyss again, but he gets shocked by Senor Benjamin.)

Heyman says he knows how to beat Brock Lesnar, but Cena says he already knows. Heyman insists on telling him anyway: it's called giving in to the crowd by telling them to shut up when they chant "Cena sucks." He then tries to put it into action, but it doesn't work, as Cena tells Heyman to shut up and not the crowd, before telling him that he refuses to give in to the likes of him as he has far too much riding on this to do so. Cena then gives Heyman seven days to come back to Raw next week with Brock Lesnar, because Cena is coming back next week to fight. If Lesnar doesn't show up, Cena is fighting Heyman instead.

The Bella Twins' brother J.J. is brought out, and J.J. tells Nikki to stop being the victim. Brie and Nikki go at it, and J.J. gets slapped.
