Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for September 8, 2022

Crazzy Steve beats Shane Taylor in the BTI match.

Aussie Open (Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis) beat Bullet Club ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) in their Impact Wrestling debut.

Honor No More meet backstage. Maria Kanellis-Bennett says the tide have changed, that Matt Taven and Mike Bennett are tag team champions and that their message have been heard. Kenny King says that while they can celebrate, they cannot lose focus, and that they need X Division gold. He says that Impact Wrestling got involved and screwed them, but he will handle business tonight. Eddie Edwards says they can have zero doubt, and that Vincent is cleansing PCO of any doubt that he may have. He says that while the deck is always stacked against Honor No More, he will take out Heath and show "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander that their side is the right side. Eddie says that after he takes down Heath, Josh Alexander will choose his side, and their side is the only side that matters.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson). Anderson says they may have lost the Impact World Tag Team Championships, but Gallows says they will soon be nine-time tag team champions. Anderson says they are not done with Honor No More (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett). Suddenly, The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) show up. Shelley tells them they will have to multi-task, and Sabin asks how they have not had a match in Impact. Gallows says there is only one Machine Gun and that it is him, and Anderson says that their match is "box office" and a Bound For Glory main event. Anderson says he is feeling generous, and Gallows accepts the challenge for next week before both teams have a staredown.

Mickie James beats Raychell Rose.

Backstage, Mia Yim meets with Scott D'Amore when Kenny King shows up and tells Mia Yim to go away. Mia leaves after a Chippendales reference. Kenny King demands that last week's decision be reversed, then demands a match for the Impact X Division Championship. D'Amore tells him that "Speedball" Mike Bailey has a title match with Mascara Dorada and that he will have to wait. D'Amore then further addresses Kenny King not wanting to wait and wanting a fight right now, and tells him that he has a match tonight and that it is up next.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Steve Maclin. Maclin says that a fool would go into a Triple Threat Match without any strategy and that he is giving Moose to something about, and that there is no deal between them. When asked about next week's match where he and Moose face Decay (Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus), Maclin says it may be Moose's idea.

Yuya Uemura beats Kenny King in his Impact Wrestling debut. During the match, Mia Yim confronts Kenny King on the outside for what happened backstage earlier. When Kenny King puts his feet up on the middle rope for a stack-up pinfall attempt, Mia pulls Kenny's feet off the rope. Kenny grabs Mia by the hair only to be kicked in the head by Mia on the outside as the referee checks on Uemura in the corner, and Uemura hits Kenny King with a top rope cross body for the win.

This week's Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the Week is Sting vs. Bobby Roode for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at Victory Road 2012.

We hear from Sami Callihan. He says Moose and Steve Maclin think they have him figured out, but he is one step ahead. He says he is the one pulling the strings, and by Victory Road, he will have them where he wants them: at each others' throats.

Joe Doering's "Keep Calm and Kick A$$" T-shirt is now on sale on ShopImpact.com, and all proceeds will go directly to Joe Doering.

We see Deaner meets with Eric Young, who is smoking a cigarette in the cover of darkness, at a shack in the middle of nowhere. Eric Young asks him if this is what he wants and if he understands the design of violence. It is soon revealed that he has not come alone and taht he has followers in yellow hoodies, and they all yell "Violence!" in unison along with Deaner as Eric Young stretches out his arms.

Chelsea Green beats Taya Valkyrie. During the match, "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo trips Taya on the outside, and Rosemary runs out and makes Deonna pay for it. The referee is distracted by this, and this allows Chelsea to poke Taya in the eyes, shove her into Jessicka when Jessicka gets on the ring apron and hit the I'm Prettier for the win.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Jordynne Grace. Jordynne says Masha Slamovich is really good, but she psyches her opponents out before the match in order to win. She says that Masha's intimidation skills are as good as her wrestling, but they will not work on her and she will not get into her head before Bound For Glory. She then enters her dressing room and find numerous pictures of herself on the wall. Within the numerous photos of Jordynne on the wall is a message in big red letters: "Masha's Gonna Kill You."

We see Vincent with PCO. Vincent asks PCO if he remembers the darkness, then tells him that he was the light. He tells PCO that he gave him life so he could emerge from the darkness alone, and that PCO's voice is his voice and a reflection of him. He says that their voices are in unison and part of the communal voice of Honor No More, and that when their voices are one, there is no doubt about their mission. Vincent then blindfolds PCO after his attempt at removing the last bit of doubt from PCO's head.

Brian Myers retains the Impact Wrestling Digital Media Championship against Bhupinder Gujjar by disqualification. During the match, Myers grabs the Digital Media title, but so does Gujjar, who drags Myers back into the ring. Gujjar then hits Myers in the head with the championship belt in full view of the ref and gets disqualified. After the match, Gujjar shrugs, then leaves with the Digital Media title again.

Backstage, Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans are met by Gail Kim, who tells them that Killer Kelly has a match with Alisha Edwards next week and that Kelly wants Tasha on commentary, as Kelly likes it when other people watch.

Backstage, security stands between Brian Myers and Bhupinder Gujjar. Scott D'Amore takes the Digital Media Championship, but refuses to hand it back to Brian Myers and announces that they will be both be in a ladder match for the title in two weeks.

Eddie Edwards beats Heath after Mike Bennett runs into the ring and receives a Wake Up Call from Heath, which allows Eddie to hit Heath with a low blow as the referee tries to get Bennett out of the ring. After the match, Eddie says that with Heath taken care of, it is time to take care of much bigger business. He says he and Honor No More have taken their side in the war that is going on, and that it is time for "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander to make his choice. Eddie tells Alexander to come to the ring and make his decision. Alexander shows up, and Eddie says that just because they are opponent does not mean they have to be enemies. He says that they will have their war at Bound For Glory, then says there is a war out there that is bigger than anyone can recognize. When Alexander asks Eddie if he thinks the business is out to get him and that someone is pulling the stream, Eddie says yes. Eddie says that he has been plagued by the adulation of so-called fans and led astray by the empty promises of Impact Wrestling, but now, he can see clearly, and so can Alexander. He says that he has chosen his side, and that it is time for Alexander to choose his side on the war right here, right now. When Eddie asks Alexander which side he is on, Alexander says his side is always across from him and that they can do this right now. Mike Bennett tries to attack Alexander, and Alexander takes him down. Eddie goes for a cheap shot only to get suplexed, then Kenny King attacks Alexander from behind. Heath gets back in the ring to even the odds, but it soon becomes three-on-two. Rich Swann runs into the ring to even the numbers game, then Matt Taven runs in and attacks Rich Swann. Swann, Alexander and Heath are ganged up on, and Alexander tries to fend off all four attackers only to get manhandled. Eddie Edwards hits Josh Alexander with the Tiger Driver, then hits him with the Boston Knee Party after Maria Kanellis-Bennett shows up. Eddie tells Alexander that he has picked the wrong side.
