Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 26, 2022

Bianca Belair, Alexa Bliss and Asuka head to the ring to start tonight's show. Bianca says she considered challenging Bayley again tonight, but then she remembered that Bayley would make it about more than them and that she would not come alone. She says that she learned from her mistake, and Bayley should have faced Alexa one-on-one; instead, she had to get help to beat Alexa. As she says that Alexa and Asuka will watch Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky), Damage CTRL show up. Bayley says that Bianca was handpicked and trained how to become a champion while she had to groom and train herself, then says that she is taking over WWE and that while Bianca has her accomplishments, she was chosen. Bianca says she has earned everything that she has gotten and that she has been "showing up and showing out" while Bayley was in rehab, then says she will downgrade her accomplishments to a level that Bayley is comfortable. Bayley says that while she had to go through rehab, she was able to be the first to beat Bianca in over 300 days and that Bianca only accomplished things because she was injured. Bianca says Bayley was here while she was at the top of her game, then says she came back with Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai because she was not ready to face her alone. Bayley says they are not talking about the past, then says that Bianca says that gave her a good idea, and says she wants to beat Bianca for the Raw Women's Championship in a Ladder Match. Bianca tells Bayley to consider the ante up, then says that if she can't face her, then she might as well face Iyo Sky. Iyo Sky calls for a referee, then the match is on.

Sami Zayn and Solo Sikoa are seen entering the arena.

Bianca Belair beats Iyo Sky after taking out Bayley and Dakota Kai on the outside.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Rey Mysterio. Rey says there is nothing like holding one's baby son and wanting to give them the world. He says he will always love Dominik Mysterio and will not fight him under any circumstances, and wondered what happened to the man that he raised as he did not recognize him. He says that this is not his son and that Rhea Ripley is manipulating his heart and mind. Rey says that he must be at his best against Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, who he says can also be a savage. He says he may have mercy for his flesh and blood, but he has no mercy for Rollins.

Backstage, The Miz talks to six security guards. He says he wants "smart and stealthy" security, then calls them the "Miz Force" before sending them off to find Dexter Lumis.

Before the next match, Seth "Freakin'" Rollins says he should be standing in the ring as the brand-new United States Champion, but the only reason he is not champion is because of Matt Riddle. He says he had Bobby Lashley dead to rights until Riddle took his eyes off the ball and cost him the title. He says Riddle has been a thorn in his side for months and has cost him for the last time, and they will finish things at Extreme Rules in the Fight Pit. Rollins says he has been hearing the whispers and reading the tweets stating he has no chance in the Fight Pit, which is Riddle's type of match, but he realized that no matter what match he is in, he has won them all. He says that while Riddle may be good in the Fight Pit, he has "an Einstein-level acumen for the fight game," and when the dust settles, Riddle will be flat on his back and everyone will sing his song as they call him "King of the Fight Pit." Rollins says he hopes Matt Riddle is taking notes, as he is about to give "Father of the Year" Rey Mysterio the beating that he is too cowardly to give to his own son.

Seth "Freakin'" Rollins beats Rey Mysterio with a Peruvian necktie. During the match, Dominik Mysterio shows up with a chair and allows Rollins to continue to have at it with Rey. As this goes on, a QR code quickly appears and disappears. Later in the match, Dominik dares Rey to hit him with a chair, which allows Rhea Ripley to attack Rey from behind. Rollins then hits Rey with The Stomp, then locks in the Peruvian necktie as Rey is knocked out for the win.

Backstage, Matt Riddle is met by Bobby Lashley, who wishes him luck in his match against Damian Priest, then says they both know how to fight in a cage and Rollins does not, and that Rollins is afraid of getting knocked out. Riddle says he will beat Rollins by knockout or submission, then Lashley tells Riddle not to help out in his matches again.

Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano find a knocked out security guard backstage on the way to the ring.

Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano beat Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) after Gargano ducks a briefcase shot from Austin Theory on the outside and hits him with a superkick before hitting Chad Gable with One Final Beat.

Backstage, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles finds two members of security laid out before Kevin Patrick interviews him. Styles says he has not forgotten what The Judgment Day did to him and that to get respect, one must give respect. Suddenly, Finn Balor shows up and says it is important to have a few friends around here and that The Judgment Day have accomplished much. He says that if Styles joins them, the two of them could change the business again. Finn then offers an olive branch again, but Styles says he will watch his own back.

We look back on the 1998 Royal Rumble.

Backstage, Austin Theory wants to know what is going on with Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). Gable blames Brawn Strowman for Otis not being 100%. As he says that he will not be embarrassed again, he gets a phone call that is for Gable. Braun Strowman is on the other end, and challenges Gable to a match in his hometown of St. Paul, Minnesota so that nobody has to fly his body home for the funeral. Theory then tells Otis to show what he is made of next week. Theory also says that this will be last match of Gargano's "short and sad" career.

Omos beats Greg Lister and Joey Gibson in a two-on-one handicap match. After the match, Omos places Lister and Gibson on the announce table, then stands on the table and raises his fist.

Backstage, The Miz finds all of his security force laid out. Miz then realizes Dexter Lumis is nearby, and the statue in the Edmonton Oilers uniforms moves. The statue is Dexter Lumis, who hits Miz with a hockey stick and knocks him out. Lumis then locks in Silence on The Miz and sends him into unconsciousness.

Candice LeRae makes a surprise return and beats Nikki A.S.H. After the match, Nikki A.S.H. is seen sobbing with her mask removed in the corner.

Backstage, Finn Balor tells the rest of The Judgment Day (Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio) that "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles will come around when Kevin Patrick comes to them for an interview. Damian Priest says he will not only hold back against Styles, but he has zero remorse about what he will do to Matt Riddle. He says that The Judgment Day is his family and is running Raw and that Riddle's head is in the clouds. He tells Riddle that he is not a viper, a cage fighter or his friend, and says Riddle will fall while The Judgment Day will rise.

It is announced that D-Generation X will celebrate 25 years in two weeks on Raw.

Sami Zayn beats "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles after Solo Siko hits Styles with a Uranagi on the ring apron behind the referee's back. After the match, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio) shows up. Finn Balor tells Styles it pains him to see Styles like this and says that if Styles had accepted their offer, the results could have been a little bit different. He says that Styles deserves better than this, and says that since he is a fair and generous person, he asks him as a friend to rise up and join The Judgment Day. Styles gets up, and Finn Balor goes for a "Too Sweet" only for Styles to flip him off. The Judgment Day then gangs up on him. Rhea grabs a chair, which is wrapped around Styles' neck. Finn Balor nearly stomps the chair, but Finn stops himself and tells Styles that he is his friend and that this is not what friends do.

Backstage, Candice LeRae meets with Bianca Belair, Asuka and Alexa Bliss. As Candice hopes that Bianca shuts Bayley up and Bianca compliments Candice on her win, Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky) shows up and Bayley mouths off at them, saying that compliments are just compliments in disguise. This leads to Candice confronting Damage CTRL, saying that bullies are just cowards in disguise. Dakota Kai tells Bayley that she has Extreme Rules to worry about, but Candice tells Dakota that she doesn't. Bayley tells Candice that if she wants a match with Dakota, she will have to wait until next week.

Matt Riddle beats Damian Priest with a roll-up. After the match, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio)gang up on Matt Riddle, then Edge runs into the ring and hits a Spear on both Priest and Finn Balor while Rhea Ripley helps Dominik Mysterio retreat. Edge tells The Judgment Day that they have tried to finish him over and over, but he always comes back. He says he does not quit, then challenges Finn Balor to an I Quit Match at Extreme Rules.
