Grand Slam - Rampage recap for September 23, 2022

Sting and Darby Allin beat The House of Black (Buddy Matthews and Brody King) in a no-disqualification match after The Great Muta shows up and beats up Buddy Matthews before spitting the green mist in his face, allowing Sting to break out of his handcuffs and hit Buddy with the Scorpion Deathdrop to win. After the match, Sting and Muta hug.

Hook and Action Bronson beat The Jericho Appreciation Society ("Cool Hand" Angelo Parker and "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard) with a double Redrum.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling says that "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese and "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods will make quick work of Wardlow and Samoa Joe when Wardlow's entrance cuts them off.

Wardlow and Samoa Joe beat "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese and "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods. After the match, Woods and Nese attack Samoa Joe, but Wardlow gets in the ring and clotheslines them both despite having a hurt leg. "Smart" Mark Sterling tries to stop the Powerbomb Symphony with a belt shot to the back, but it does not work. Joe tosses Sterling to Wardlow, who immediately powerbombs him three times, with Joe tossing Sterling to Wardlow for each powerbomb.

We see a video package for Rey Fenix vs. Jungle Boy.

Jungle Boy beats Rey Fenix after countering the Black Fire Driver into an inside cradle. At the beginning of the match, Jungle Boy is announced by his real name as "Jungle Boy" Jack Perry. After the match, both men shake hands in a sign of respect. Afterwards, Christian Cage shows up, and Luchasaurus shows up from behind Jungle Boy. Jungle Boy sees Luchasaurus coming, but he gets headbutted and planted with a Death Valley Driver. Christian then says that New York always makes him smile because they are loud and obnoxious, then tells them to do nothing "like the bitches that [they] are" while he conducts business. Christian then says Jungle Boy attacked him like a coward and broke his arm, then says he still beat Jungle Boy and that Jungle Boy will never beat him. He tells Jungle Boy not to come back or he will sic Luchasaurus on him. After wishing that Jungle Boy's mother and sister were here to witness this one last time, Luchasaurus choke slam Jungle Boy at Christian's behest.

In backstage footage from Dynamite, The Jericho Appreciation Society celebrate Chris Jericho becoming Ring of Honor World Champion, and Jericho says there will be a championship celebration next week. Daniel Garcia wants to get serious with Jericho for a moment and tell him something, but Jericho is too focused on celebrating, much to Garcia's chagrin.

Before the next match, Sammy Guevara apologizes to Eddie Kingston before telling him that he is "a fat piece of shit." Eddie responds by gouging Sammy's eyes.

Eddie Kingston beats Sammy Guevara by submission after three spinning back fists...almost. After the match, Eddie refuses to release the hold, and as Jerry Lynn tries to reason with Eddie and security guards step in, senior referee Paul Turner shows up and reverses the decision, giving Sammy Guevara the win. Afterwards, Eddie Kingston beats up the security guards, and Jerry Lynn has to reason with Eddie again.

Jade Cargill retains the TBS Championship against Diamante. After the match, hip hop artist Trina - who accompanied Diamante to the ring - gets in the ring and turns on Diamante by slapping her before siding with The Baddies (Jade Cargill, Kiera Hogan, Leila Grey).

"Hangman" Adam Page last beats Rush to win the Golden Ticket Battle Royal and earn a shot at the AEW World Championship.

Backstage, Mark Henry interviews Powerhouse Hobbs and "Absolute" Ricky Starks. Hobbs says it is about time that the same Starks that fought Darby Allin and Sting showed up, then says he beat that Starks in four-and-a-half minutes and will do it again. Starks says he is better than "a four-minute match" and that will not happen, and while that was a highlight for Hobbs, tonight's highlight will be him closing The Book of Hobbs and putting Hobbs' lights out once and for all.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks beats Powerhouse Hobbs in an unsanctioned Lights Out Match after hitting Hobbs with a LED strip from one of the entryways and nailing him with the Ro-Sham-Bo afterwards.
