Raw Deal - Raw recap for September 19, 2022

Bobby Lashley retains the WWE United States Championship against Seth "Freakin'" Rollins when Matt Riddle runs out and stops short of entering the ring, distracting Rollins so that Lashley can hit the Spear.

A white limousine pulls up, and Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky) is helped out of the back.

It is announced that Survivor Series will feature two WarGames Matches this year.

Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky) heads to the ring for their championship celebration. The trio make their entrance by riding a cart with their logo on it down the ramp, after pyro goes off and streams fly down onto the stage. When Damage CTRL make their way to the ring, which has balloons on every corner, streamers also fly out from one side of the ring. Bayley tells the San Jose, California that their Bay Area hero is here, then decides to kick off a celebration for Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky becoming WWE Women's Tag Team Champions. When Damage CTRL is booed, Bayley says they are doing better than the San Jose Sharks are doing right now, then Iyo Sky says they are in control now. Dakota Kai says that they needed each other and that the women's division needed them, and that they do not need Alexa Bliss, Asuka and Bianca Belair, who are now in control of nothing. She says that Asuka was once a fearless warrior while Alexa Bliss got a lobotomy and therapy, and that Bianca Belair phoned it in because she forgot how it gelt to be pinned. Dakota says there is nothing left for the three of them to do than to pack it up and go home, then Bianca, Alexa and Asuka show up. Bianca says they were not intending on crashing Damage CTRL's party until they ran their mouths again, then says they cannot let them disrespect them again and will have to teach them respect. Bayley asks Bianca if she has any patience and says the women's division fell apart because of her impulsive, then says she, Alexa and Asuka do not fit the picture anymore as she mocks their appearance. Alexa threatens to beat Damage CTRL up, then Bayley calls Alexa a shell of her former self. Alexa says she would love to torment Bayley some more, then challenges her to a one-on-one match, saying that while Lilly bites, she still does too. Bayley goes for a cheap shot, but Alexa levels her, and Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky have to help Bayley out of the ring.

Kevin Owens beats Austin Theory after Johnny Gargano shows up and keeps Theory from using his Money In The Bank briefcase as a weapon. After the match, Gargano mockingly hands the briefcase back to Theory by dropping it on his groin.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Matt Riddle, who says that he got payback for last week and that he will hunt Seth "Freakin'" Rollins down until he gets his rematch. He says that he wants to help Rey Mysterio get vengeance and that Damian Priest and Finn Balor look like they are turning into goths and trying to join a cult while ruining legends' careers. He says Rey helped him last week and that he is returning the favor.

George Kittle of the San Francisco 49ers is seen in the crowd.

We see a video package for the recent press conference between Logan Paul and Roman Reigns.

The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch) head to the ring. Butch says tonight is fight night, and Ridge Holland says that they will become the next tag team champions and that Sheamus is getting their championship celebration ready. Suddenly, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford)show up. They congratulate Ridge and Butch on their #1 contendership win, but remind them they have yet to beat The Street Profits. Ridge holds Butch back before saying they are ready for a fight.

The Brawling Brutes (Ridge Holland and Butch) beat The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford).

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Rey Mysterio. Rey says he cannot help but think that if he knew about the resentment Dominik Mysterio had, he could have prevented all of this. He says Edge might be sidelined, but he is not out. He hopes Dominik will come back to the family and says he will not give up. Rey says that he did everything to provide Dominik with a life that he never had and a chance for Dominik to carry on the family name if he wanted to, then Matt Riddle shows up and asks him if he is ready. Rey says he is, then they both leave.

Backstage, Johnny Gargano runs into Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis), who call him out on costing Austin Theory his match tonight before telling Gargano he made the biggest mistake of his career because Theory has strength in numbers. After Gable says that messing with Theory means messing with Alpha Academy, Kevin Owens shows up and tells Gable that if he has a problem with Johnny, he has a problem with him. Gable challenges Johnny and Owens to a tag team match. Owens says this is perfect, because he answered his open challenge in Canada and they will beat him and Otis in Canada next week, then he shooshes Alpha Academy when Gable tries to retort. (During the segment, there is a QR code in the background. Anyone who scanned the code got a rather spooky-looking game of Hangman that is supposed to hint at something.)

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio) head to the ring. Rhea Ripley says that last week, they took everyone who was in front of them and proved once again that they run Raw. She says that with Dominik Mysterio by their side, no one will stop them, especially now that Dominik is "all man." Finn Balor says Dominik is a brave man, then tells Dominik it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to enemies and even more bravery to stand up to his father. Damian Priest says Dominik no longer walks in a shadow and proved he is a man who will fight his own battles when he took on Edge last week, then he and Finn Balor laugh about Edge being at home injured. The fans then boo as soon as Dominik is on the microphone, and Dominik says that he is proud and could not be prouder to stand alongside his real family: The Judgment Day. Finn says they are having a moment and should celebrate with a family photo. He then has a cameraman take a picture of The Judgment Day, then Matt Riddle and Rey Mysterio show up for the next match.

The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and Damian Priest) beat Matt Riddle and Rey Mysterio after Seth "Freakin'" Rollins attacks Riddle only to be chased away by Rey Mysterio and Dominik distracts Rey by daring him to hit him with a chair, which Rey ultimately decides against doing.

Backstage, officials have to break up a brawl between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle. Rollins tells Riddle that if he wants a rematch, all he needs to do is name the time and place. Riddle says it will be at Extreme Rules in a Fight Pit Match.

It's time for Miz TV. Tonight's guest is Dexter Lumis. Miz says he has been the victim of a deranged madman, and says that while it is one thing to attack him, it is another to cost him the United States Championship. He then says this man crossed the line by breaking into his home. After mentioning his daughter Madison's third birthday - which is Minions-based and led to him thinking one of the Minions was his stalker and all the kids crying "You hurt Stuart!" - Miz calls Dexter Lumis out for a face-to-face meeting. Instead of showing up from the back, a knife cuts a hole in the bottom of the mat as Miz says Dexter Lumis is "a weak-minded sociopath" and threatens to kick his ass the next time he sees him. Dexter pops out of the hole, and when Miz notices him, Dexter tries to drag him to the bottom of the ring. Tommaso Ciampa saves Miz, then nails Dexter with a microphone. When Miz tries to peer in the hole, Dexter pops back out, and Miz and Ciampa run away.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley, Dominik Mysterio). Rhea Ripley says it is time to celebrate, then Dominik Mysterio jokes about checking on Rey Mysterio before telling Damian Priest they need to celebrate. Priest says that next week, he will kick Matt Riddle's ass one more time. As The Judgment Day leave, the four of them notice "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. Finn Balor confronts AJ Styles alone for refusing to talk to him after he joined The Judgment Day, and Styles tells Balor he turned his back on him. Finn says that is not true and still has his back, but Styles says he wants no part of The Judgment Day. Finn tells Styles he is still his friend and asks him if he is looking for a fight, then hugs him and tells him that the offer still stands.

Bayley beats Alexa Bliss after Dakota Kai distracts the ref so that Iyo Sky can knock Alexa off the top rope for the Rose Plant. After the match, Bayley, Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky attack Alexa, and Asuka tries to make the save only for the numbers game to take over. Bianca fights them off, but she too is overpowered.Bayley then hits Bianca with the Rose Plant before telling her that she is control and that she gets what she wants when she wants it and declares that she wants the WWE Raw Women's Championship at Extreme Rules.
